Origin And History Of Dance
Origin and History of Dance
The archaeological evidence for early dance includes 9,000 year old paintings found in India at the
Rock Shelters of Bhimbetka, and Egyptian tomb paintings depicting dancing figures, dated 3300 BC.
Before the invention of written languages, dance was the one of the most important method of passing
stories down from generation to generation. The use of dance in ecstatic (ubjective experience of total
involvement of the subject) or altered state of mind and healing rituals, as today in many cultures from
the Brazilian rainforest to the Kalahari Desert, is thought to have been another early factor. Greek
dance (horos) is referred to by Plato, Aristotle, Plutarch and Lucian. The Bible and Talmud refer to
many events related to dance, and contain over 30 different dance terms.
During the first millennium in India, many texts were composed which attempted to codify aspects of
daily life. Bharata Muni s Natyashastra (literally the text of dramaturgy ) is one of the earlier texts. It
mainly deals with drama, in which dance plays an important part in Indian culture. It categorises
dance into four types secular, ritual, abstract, and, interpretive and into four regional varieties. The text
elaborates various hand gestures (mudras) and classifies movements of the various limbs, steps and so
on. From these beginnings rose the various classical styles recognised today. Many contemporary
dance forms can be traced back to historical, traditional,

Greek Architecture Is The Art Of Architecture
Architecture is the art of designing and constructing buildings and other physical structures.
Architecture is as old as human history because it is the basic need of a human being. Architecture
symbolizes the history, culture, traditions, technology and climate of the nation. In primitive ages man
was used to live in caves but with the passage of time trends changed. As necessity is the mother of
invention human beings started to make houses made up of stones to protect themselves from extreme
climatic conditions and also from wild animals. New innovations and new trends prevailed and human
beings started to make houses with bricks made up of mud, then they started baking these bricks to
make them much stronger to protect themselves from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many of the new materials have been introduced by the architects and chemists produced artificially at
low cost. Today s architecture is the blend of structuralism, formalism, high technology, expressionism
and neo expressionism. Fast growing industries and professionalism give birth to modern architecture
which is simple less ornamental but maximum people oriented. Modern architecture is rich in
inspiration and abstract ideas behind it. With the increasing complexity in architecture it is further
divided into various branches. Environmental hazards are most hot issue today that s why architects
are trying to create designs which are environment friendly. Many of the architects gave stress on
green building sustainable designs among them Sim Van der Ryn (1960), Ian Mc Harg (1970) UK and
Brenda and Robert Vale from UK and New Zea land are most famous. Architects are now designing

Why Pharmacy Is The Benefits And Risks
All four of my grandparents grew up in China, in a small culture where foreign medicine, meaning
medication and surgery, was not deemed acceptable or healthy for the human body. Invasive
procedures and drugs were considered unnatural and looked down upon. However, a new age of
scientific technology and knowledge has come around and when my paternal grandmother refused an
eye surgery, she went partially blind until she agreed to go through with the surgery and take the
medications she was assigned after. Although prescriptions are now engineered to be of the least
minimal risk, the stubbornness of my grandmother has inspired me to join the pharmaceutical field, in
hopes of making medication and prescriptions as safe and risk free as ... Show more content on

This consultative aspect of pharmacy is what interests me the most.
There are different kinds of pharmacists, but these are the general ones: community pharmacists,
clinical pharmacists, consultant pharmacists and pharmaceutical industry pharmacists. Community
pharmacists work in retail stores such as chain drug stores or independently owned pharmacies (U.S.
Bureau of Labor Statistics), such as Rite Aid or Target. They are the pharmacies that provide over the
counter medications and often give out free flu shots. Clinical pharmacists are those who give
pharmaceutical advice to those in hospitals and clinics. However, they spend less time prescribing
medication (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics) and are more involved in direct patient care (U.S. Bureau
of Labor Statistics). As well as recommending drugs, they actually oversee the dosage and timing of
the medication in the hospital. In the field of pharmacy, clinical pharmacists have duties more similar
to those of physicians than community pharmacists, whom act as a modern day apothecary. Consultant
pharmacists provide expert advice on the use of medications by individuals or within institutions, or
on the provision of pharmacy services to institutions (American Society of Consultant Pharmacists).
Rather than prescribing medications or the hands on surveillance of drugs, consultant pharmacists are
just that consults of medication. Consultant

Tax Reform
The Tax system of the United States is in absolute disorder. Politicians on both sides, of the political
spectrum, agree that the tax system that we use today is complicated and expensive. In order to
completely understand the immense tax problems that are in this country, the current tax problems
must be first analyzed and explained, short terms solutions must be created and used as a temporary
answer for these problems, and finally long term solutions must be the permanent fix for the myriad of
the problems that are troubling this nation. The purpose of the government is to protect and serve the
people that live within the country s boundaries. In order to carry out this vital task the government
needs revenue from the same people it protects ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To obtain long term solutions it is critical that the American government reshapes the tax code and
provides Americans a substantial amount of tax relief. The current tax code is too complicated, it
needs to be simplified. The way the current tax code is organized it seems that it someone needs an
advanced degree in order to effectively understand and complete it. Simplifying the tax code will be
beneficial to the average citizen and the government. This country needs to effectively increase the
economic developments within its boundaries. To allow substantial economic development this
government is absolutely necessary that this country put an end to corporate inversion. The biggest
factors that contribute to corporate inversion are the incredibly high tax rate of thirty five percent and
the decision by the American government to force a tax on company s income, regardless of their
location. By lowering the corporate tax rate and allowing to America to transition from an
international system to a more domestic one, corporate inversion will end which will add a enormous
amount money back into the American economy. These long term solutions will give America
permanent solutions to the horrible tax problems it faces

A Discussion of Three Messages from the Text of...
The text R. and G. are Dead is a story that has a lot of messages and meaning behind a somewhat
comical text. R and G are two characters from the famous text Hamlet by William Shakespeare.
During the course of the play, it flashes from R and G to parts from the play Hamlet so that really the
people that know the play Hamlet are the only ones who really know what is going on. During the
course of the play R. and G. are Dead the characters R and G don t really have a purpose on anything,
including what they do and where they go, they just kind of go with the flow and they don t really
care. During the course of the play Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead by Tom Stoppard there are

Although this experience may sometimes seem funny when it happens to others, in the end it is one of
the worst aspects of life. What does it mean to be alive verses being dead is one of the main questions
throughout the play Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead . Throughout the whole play R and G
play with the ideas about death. During the course of the play Rosencrantz even asks what he thinks it
would be like to be dead in a box. The answer is that he would rather be alive when put in the box
with a chance that someone might come along and let him out. While they are playing this game, the
audience is aware that there is a bigger thought behind being in a box, which in the play they are
referring to as a coffin. This box metaphor can also be seen in bigger terms such as life itself. This
metaphor leads the audience to think that they could already be in a box, and they can t get out. This
play makes you question even your own existence when they start playing games like these. During

Differences Between American Culture And Indian Culture
Culture is the characteristics and knowledge of a particular group of people, defined by everything
from language, religion, cuisine, social habits, music and arts. The cultures around the world are very
different and very much the alike at the same time. On the other hand, some similarities also lie
between two nations. While the culture of America is a mixture of different cultures, the Indian culture
is unique and has its own values. There are many types of differences lies between American culture
and Indian culture in terms of Religions, Languages, Rituals and Cuisines. Religious is a set of
common beliefs and practices generally held by a group of people that is usually separated by rituals
and religious laws. There are so many cultures within each country. India is one of the most
religiously diverse country in the world with one of the most deeply religious societies and cultures.
Religion plays a central and definitive role in the life of many of its people. The religions that
originated in the Indian subcontinents are Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism, Jainism, Sikhism and
Christianity. The most of India s population is Hindu which contributes towards the 70% of the
population. Hinduism is one of the oldest religions in the world. It was developed about 5000 years

Cyp61 Week 1 Lab Report
Introduction
Cytochrome P450s (CYPs) are present in all three domains of life and constitute a superfamily of
heme containing monooxygenases. CYPs are involved in the metabolism of endogenous and
xenobiotic compounds 1 4. CYPs belong to a variety of families with two global sub families, CYP51
and CYP61. CYP51 is involved in sterol biosynthesis and is reported as housekeeping CYP in fungi
and is an important target for the antifungal drugs 3, 5. CYP51s are found in sterol producing animals,
plants, protists, but rarely in bacteria, producing 14 α demethylated sterols 6. The CYP51 reaction
occurs in three steps, each reaction requires one molecule of oxygen and two NADPH derived
reducing equivalents 7 9. Another cytochrome P450 CYP61 (sterol 22 desaturase) represents an
ancient activity, as the superfamily is present as CYP710 in plants 10. Plant P450s are generally
classified as strong candidate of the C 22 desturases that produce stigmasterol and ... Show more

Sterol C 22 desaturase plays an important role as terminal enzyme in the sterol biosynthesis in fungi
and plants. Fungal cytochrome P450 monooxygenase, CYP61, is the sterol C 22 desaturase, the
penultimate enzyme in the ergosterol biosynthetic pathway 14, 16. Erogosterol synthesis involves
lanosterol synthase needed for cyclization of 2,3 oxidosqalene and CYP61 for C 22 desaturation. In
case of plants, the first cyclization of 2,3 oxidosqalene is mediated by cycloartenol synthase and
CYP710 (a C 22 desaturase) for C 22 desaturation 11. Interestingly, Leishmania and Trypanosomes
being non photosynthetic protozoans not only synthesize lanosterol but also contain CYP710 (L.

Good Vs. Evil In Rikki-Tavi
In Rikki Tikki Tavi, I think the primary theme is good versus evil. If we look at the story from a
postcolonialism perspective, you will see the symbolism of what each character represents. The cobras
represent the rebel Indians, while Rikki Tikki represents a British soldier hero of sorts. The author was
born in British India, eight years after the Indian Rebellion. As a child, he probably heard stories, that
would later inspire him. I think he wrote this story for two purposes: it s bedtime children s story on
the surface, but deeper within, a look into postcolonialism. Rikki Tikki Tavi is an enjoyable story for
me because I like its deeper meaning. Using an animal instead of a human to be the protagonist is
fantastic because an animal has

in a set of 10 amendments ratified by the states. Liberty, meaning freedom from governmental and
economic control, was the central factor and of utmost importance in the eyes of Madison and his
fellow founding fathers when drafting the Bill of Rights. Protecting the peoples respective personal
liberties such as freedom of speech and the right to exercise particular religious beliefs played a vital

The media plays a massive role in the politics of the United States today and truly sets the agenda and
makes an extensive impression on public opinion. Through political advertising on the Internet and
television along with numerous other outlets, the opinions of citizens on issues such as healthcare,
presidency candidates, and many other concerns can be immensely swayed. Many Americans are not
politically intelligent or knowledgeable in current events so one well thought out advertisement can
nudge someone to vote for a particular person or advocate for a certain issue. Political advertising
does not significantly differ from advertising a consumer product such as Fructis shampoo or Poptarts
because both are pushing all the good things about their product/issue onto you and hoping that you
buy into what they are advertising and take the bait. Also, some advertisements will promote how bad
the opposition is while declaring that their commodity/candidate is more qualified and superior for
numerous reasons. Due to the fact that these political advertisements and the media manipulate
political perspectives, this truly is an insult to the idea of free elections because as the government
through advertising is now shaping Americans beliefs there are no longer unaltered political views.

Similarities Between Islam And Christianity
With regards to the religions of Islam and Christianity, it is imperative to recognize that these two
practices account for some of the largest followings in the history of modern civilization. With that
being said, the links between Islam and Christianity can be astoundingly similar whilst also offering
key characteristics of difference. Although both emphasize certain ideals in differing contexts, I d
argue that it would be reprehensible not to recognize the power the devout followers of both practices
receive upon praying to their God from above.
Islam is a Abrahamic monotheistic religion dating back to 610 CE Saudi Arabia, when the last and
final prophet Muhammad retrieved to a cave to pray and received revelations from God or ( Allah
Arabic word for God) through an angel by the name of Gabriel. These said revelations would later be
known as the beginning of the holy book the Quran . This event took place on Mount Jabal An Nour,
in a cave by the name of Hira. It is the world s second largest religion, and the fastest growing
religion. With over 1 billion followers in 50 countries worldwide (predominantly countries in the
Middle East) 24.1 % of the world s population.

Analysis Of Shooting An Elephant
Sometimes, the people around a man force him to give up his freedom by giving in to what the
audience expects. The person wants to make the audience pleased and wishes to keep his reputation
high. In the short story, Shooting an Elephant , George Orwell, who writes from his own experiences,
describes the life of the narrator, a policeman in a foreign country, Burma. The narrator feels forced to
shoot a wild elephant that has destroyed parts of a village. He does not want to shoot the elephant, but
because the Burmese around him seem determined and excited to see the elephant die, the narrator
feels compelled to do what the natives request to keep his high status and position of authority.

When the Burmese see the narrator with an elephant rifle, they feel excited. With the weapon in the
officer s hand, the villagers anticipated that Orwell plans to shoot the elephant. The Burmese feel as if
they should follow him to the elephant because they want to see if he will actually kill the elephant.
However, from the narrator s perspective, he states, I had no intention of shooting the elephant I had
merely sent for the rifle to defend myself if necessary . In his mind, he wishes that the elephant will
not be dangerous because he does not want to murder an animal. However, the narrator cannot turn
back. Behind him, there was an immense crowd, two thousand at the least and growing every minute.
It blocked the road for a long distance on either side . The villagers expect him to be brave enough to
shoot the elephant. If he gives up, then the villagers will laugh and mock him for being afraid to kill
the elephant. The narrator knows that every white man s life in the East, was one long struggle not to
be laughed at . If he turns back, he will indicate his weakness and lack of power over the Burmese.
Therefore, he has no choice.
Orwell uses irony to emphasize the impossible position of foreign leaders in a native country. The
narrator s decision to murder the elephant proves his weakness not his strength; instead, with all the
excited Burmese around him, he was only an absurd puppet

The Little Mermaid Feminist History
How has the 1989 film, The Little Mermaid, specifically contributed to the commodification of
marginalizing and sexualizing women that has created Disney into one of the most globally
recognized companies in history?
The late 1980 s release of The Little Mermaid is not coincidental but instead critically significant in its
relevance within history during the era of feminist advancement and empowerment within society. It is
imperative that Disney s skewed recreation of the beloved tale about The Little Mermaid be
analytically criticized because it was meticulously portrayed, released, and viewed by products of a
privileged patriarchy, thus idly celebrated by ignorance. It is also important to hypothesize the

This story, like many other Disney stories, involves a young, naïve girl who is easily and illogically
swayed by the good looks and charm of the handsome man, the same heterosexual and misogynistic
fairy tale that is constantly recreated in each of Disney s movies. The same company that retold classic
fables like Cinderella, Pocahontas, and Sleeping Beauty, notoriously exploits, objectifies, and
hypersexualizes women s bodies and femininity and has created a multibillion dollar industry that
profits from its demeaning ideals that negatively categorizes and homogenizes women. The Little
Mermaid is no exception in the way it portrays beauty in terms of youth, smallness, and a pretty
singing voice, thus subliminally sending the message to its youthful audience that women must prove
their womanhood to men, the ultimate and most important judges or they are in fact inauthentic and
flawed. This story also idealizes and constructs ways that feminism is falsely related to sexuality,
consequently assuming that women s transition from childhood to womanhood is influentially
provoked by their sexual curiosity and promiscuity, and unable to resist the opposite sex s carnal
advances. Arial is just another example of the ways in which Disney ritually practices invoking
inferior complexes to the linkage of women, depicting them as susceptible and needy of the
dramatically hypermasculinized men, insinuating their superiority as the saviors of these women. This,
however, poses the idea that this antiquated idealism may potentially emanate from patriarchal society
s intimidation by the threatening challenge women pose to masculinity if these sexist ideas were to
ever cease. Undeniably, The Little Mermaid is another classical children s tale that has

Advertising Influences And Growth Of Advertising
Advertising influences and growth
An industry that is growing and becoming more common around the globe is the advertising industry.
As this industry grows however there are insecurities and they are tracking people s actions online and
gaining an abundance of information on people. In game advertisements appear on free games or
applications that the user has on their phones and a valid solution to this problem is in game rewards.
The advertisement industry gets bigger each day and in game advertisements are getting more
adaptive to the user s preferences. Many developers are making it their mission to give equal

This was greatly adapted in the 1950 s and has moved onwards, becoming more common in the
present. Subliminal advertising largely started in movie theaters, where in cinemas they would strew
messages saying drink Coca Cola (Sheehan, K. B. 2013). The drink Coca Cola was a phrase that
would appear on the screen during the start of the movies and during the intermission and it would
subconsciously impulse the viewer to buy Coca Cola from the food court. Coming into the future this
method is used in videogames where while playing you are met with company logos upon starting the
game and thereafter shown products from other companies that are placed within the game. Some of
the oldest advertisements that appear are from canned beverage companies and now newcomers such
as car companies are coming into play, all the while polluting our screens with more subliminal
advertising. The introduction of subliminal advertisements into video games has become the next step
for many companies taking advantage of a person getting engulfed in the game screen in front of
them. In relative concept, companies are taking advantage of the real estate that is your television or
your computer and even your mobile phone to get you to buy their products.
Advertising is the best method for businesses to convey their products to the consumers because they
make it look good through their eyes. The internet is being used to advertise also as

The Process Of Boiling Reactants
Reflux
The reflux procedure is the process of boiling reactants while continuously cooling the vapour and
returning it back to the flask as a liquid (chem.wisc.edu, 2014). The reactants are needed to be heated
for a long period of time with the sulfuric acid, which acts as a catalyst to speed the reaction up, in
order for the reactants to react and be converted into the products, which in this case is the ester.
However the reactants are very volatile which means that it is easily evaporates and won t produce the
products. Reflux is then needed and used to cool any of the reactant and product vapour evaporating to
be heated by reflux once again.
Separation/Purification
There are a few different steps into separating and purifying the ester from the mixture.
At the end of reflux, both the reactants and products are present in the pear shaped flask. This is
because the acid used was very weak and did not fully react with the alcohol therefore once the
mixture has reached a chemical equilibrium, the concentration will remain the same. This means that
not all the reactants are going to be converted into products. Washing the mixture with 20mL of
distilled water allowed the separation between the aqueous layer (water soluble substances) and the
organic layer (ester) in the separating funnel. Therefore washing the mixture with distilled water is
needed to separate the aqueous layer, which is discarded, with the ester.
There will still be a small amount of acid which wasn t

Essay about An Analysis of Komanuyakaa Facing It
An Analysis of Facing It
Yusef Komanuyakaa s poem Facing It is a brutal examination of the affects that war leaves upon men.
The reader can assume that Komanuyakaa drew upon his own experiences in Vietnam, thereby
making the poem a personal statement. However, the poem is also a universal and real description of
the pain that comes about for a soldier when remembering the horror of war. He creates the poem s
persona by using flashbacks to the war, thereby informing the reader as to why the speaker is behaving
and feeling the way he is. The thirty one lines that make up Facing It journey back and forth between
present and past to tell the story of one man s life.
The informal language and intimacy of the poem are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Finally, it may suggest the face paint soldiers wear so they can blend in with their surroundings. The
next few lines span a range of emotions which include: anger, sadness expressed through tears, and the
persona s resolve not to cry. He even curses himself for beginning to cry, an action that can be
considered un masculine for a man.
As he stares at the names on the wall, he catches a glimpse of himself in the black granite and
suddenly feels like a bird of prey (502). The use of the word prey signifies to the reader that the
speaker feels like an animal being hunted by the enemy (502). He then describes his motions of
twisting and turning. When he says that he turns and finds himself inside the Memorial Wall; perhaps,
he is going back in his memory to his days in Vietnam. It may mean that a piece of him died in
Vietnam, and that is what he finds when he looks into the wall.
Line fourteen in the poem begins the persona s progression back into the past. As he reads the names
of the nearly 60,000 men who died, the speaker is surprised that his name is not on there. When he
touches the name Andrew Johnson in line seventeen, he completes the transition into the past (502).
He recounts a booby trap and the white flash of the explosion. The woman mentioned in line nineteen

SWOT Analysis The SWOT analysis is a tool used for strategic planning. SWOT stands for strengths,
weaknesses, opportunity and threats. It is an internal analysis of a firm s strengths and weaknesses and

Five Benefits Of Acupuncture
When it comes to your health, if you there is a problem, it should not be ignored. There are a variety
of ways to address and treat these health issues after you discover something is wrong, most
commonly through the use of medication. Should you have tried medication and not noticed any
improvements, perhaps it is time to try acupuncture.
Here are five benefits of getting acupuncture in Brampton.
Insomnia: A lot of people have difficulty sleeping at night. No matter how hard you try or how tired
you are, it can be a struggle to fall asleep and stay asleep once you do finally manage to get some rest.
Acupuncture is said to help insomnia sufferers get better sleep. This is because The neurotransmitters

Perhaps you had a bad day or suffer from depression or another medical condition that causes you to
feel down and unhappy. Medication is often the treatment for those who have issues with their mood
on a regular basis, but acupuncture can also help. The neurotransmitters that help control your mood
are regulated during acupuncture, improving your mood and making you feel happier.
Weight loss: Between the deep fried, fatty, salty foods that are easily accessible, there is temptation
around every corner. Not only can this make it hard for people to lose weight, it can make it hard for
people to maintain the weight they are at, whether they consider themselves obese or average.
Acupuncture helps control food cravings, boosts metabolism and improve digestion, which can all
lead to you shedding those unwanted pounds in no time.
Immune system: Battling of a cold or infection is almost impossible when you have a weak immune
system. Some people even get sick three or four times a year because their immune system just isn t as
strong as it should be. If you haven t tried acupuncture, it could greatly improve your immune system
by boosting cell activity and giving your immune system the strength it needs to keep you healthy and

The Importance Of Clock Reaction
A clock reaction is where the fusion of various reagents, with relation to time, cause a colour change
in the solution. The end of the reaction rate is measured by the increase in the rate of concentration.
There are two factors which contribute to the rate of the reaction, induction and inhibition. Induction
is where the production rate of the clock chemical increases as the increases as the concentration of
the solution increases. Whereas, Inhibition is where the chemical reacts with the clock chemical,
increasing the concentration. The increase in the rate can only occur if all of the inhibitor chemical is
consumed within the reaction (S.J Preece, 1999). Some examples of clock reactions are the arsenic
(III) sulfide clock reaction, and Landolt iodine clock oxidation of bisulphite by iodate. This specific
reaction is stated to be one of the most favourable clock reactions, showing a deep blue colour within
a matter of seconds. This specific reaction involves two colourless solutions that mix together after a
certain amount of time it yields a blue colour change. The chemical equilibrium is a formula used to
describe the rate in reverse reactions. Chemical Equilibria: Rate = k [A]^p [B]^q The rate law will also
be used to analyse the concentrations, and to determine whether the reaction is zero order, first order
or a second order reaction. Secondary data obtained from another investigation was rate = k[IO3] 1

The Sequel To The Film Magic Mike XXL
Magic Mike XXL, the sequel to the film Magic Mike that was released in 2012, is hilariously
entertaining furthermore, the eye candy isn t inadequet either. Channing Tatum returns hotter than ever
and ready for the big stripper reunion in Myrtle Beach, SC. Consequently, while I am never a big fan
of sequels I have to say that at least this part two, creates its own story with just scant references to the
first movie. This makes Magic Mike XXL equally entertaining for those who saw part one and those
who did not see the original. It seems, perhaps, the movie works hard to break a few stereotypical
thoughts about strippers, moreover, it makes you realize that these are not just a bunch of hot bodied

Cultural Beliefs Of The Afterlife
Every culture has their own set of beliefs when it comes to the afterlife, what happens to our soul,
morality, fate, and also share their own version of punishment and reward. Some cultures believe there
s a life after death while others do not. For instance, the Egyptian culture do believe in an afterlife. In
fact, their culture is so deeply rooted in this that they form their whole lives around and spend their
entire lives preparing for their death and afterlife. Egyptians believe the life you have on Earth will be
the same in your afterlife. Their concept of an afterlife was a mirror world of one s life on earth. Well,
it was specifically one s life in Egypt. Therefore, one was expected to live that life well if one hoped to
enjoy the rest of one s eternal journey. The Egyptians also believed the soul left its physical body to
journey off into the afterlife. However, they believed you needed your entire body to remain intact and
pure in order to have a chance at living in paradise after this realm. So, if your arm was missing at the
time of your burial, according to their beliefs you could not transcend into the next life. You d be left
in limbo. This is why their embalming rituals were created. These rituals were created to make a body
pure to be able to transcend into the next life. Speaking of purity, the ancient Egyptians had a code of
morals and ethics which was known as Ma at. It was the ethical conceptions of truth , order and

There are several common strategies and behaviour with approach in distributive negotiation.

limited, especially just the part that help for own side. Fells (2012) generalize the discussion of Walton

firm positions and commitments between the parties. This has been further explained by Riley (2001),
negotiators tried to turn the other party to agree while concession may be made to reach an agreement.
Mediation
Mediation is the third party intervention within a negotiation in order to find way to resolve problems.
Beber (2010, p.3 4) defined that mediation is the non coercive intervention by a third party in a
dispute between two or more political entities for the stated purpose of effecting a settlement of the

The surprisingly low number of incidents recorded during rainy, snowy and icy weather may reflect
increased attention to roadway conditions and lowered expectations by the driver. However congestion
present on the road increases the number of these incidents. This anger that these ragers bring to our
roadways cause accidents in which many cases turn out to be fatalities. When someone gets cut off
while driving it shows the lack of responsibility they actually have. Stress is also related to these
drivers who take out their anger on others. Such aggression involves shouting obscenities, and vulgar
expressions that include the ever so popular
middle finger. They risk others lives as well as their own. The road rage motorist is obviously not
aware of the tickets and fines they will receive because of their catastrophic driving habit. Road rage
and aggressive driving may be similar to some, however the characteristics of the two are in fact
different. In our state of Florida police use a wide variety of non traditional vehicles and a plain

Pros And Cons Of Anarchy
Over the course of human events, philosophers have presented their ideologies about what roles a
government should have as well as what are the functions of that said government. At many times,
these philosophers have clashed in their ideologies however, each philosopher recognizes one possible
state of being; anarchy. Anarchy is a state of disorder in which there is no official form of a systematic
government rule. Philosophers such as Aristotle, Hobbes, Locke, Mearsheimer, Ikenberry, and Gilpin
all acknowledge and agree that a state of anarchy can exist but they disagree in whether anarchy is
good or bad. Anarchy in a state of nature is conflictual, thus it is a problem. Politics in a state of
anarchy is either conflictual by nature or can lead to prospects for cooperation. Aristotle argue that
anarchy, in a state of nature, is conflictual, and Locke argues that anarchy can lead to cooperation. In
an anarchic society there are no laws, limitations, or regulations and as a result there is chaos which
lead to arguments and disputes. In a systematic government, there is stability and security; you have
someone of a higher status to go to find a solution to your troubles but when you get rid of the
hierarchy people lose that sense of security and stability and as a result are forced to provide these
securities form themselves. From what Aristotle states Hence it is evident that the state is a creation of
nature, and that man is by nature a political animal. And he who by

Goodwill is a type of intangible asset which is measured when an entire company is purchased (TEXT
pg658). Conceptually, goodwill represents the future economic benefits arising from the other assets
acquired in a business combination that are not individually identified and separately recognized
(TEXT pg659). Goodwill is not measured internally because the valuation is difficult and near to
impossible to pair with the costs of creating it (TEXT pg659).
Consideration Transferred Consideration transferred is the amount paid by the acquirer to the previous
owners to purchase the business. It is measured at acquisition date fair value and is the sum of assets
transferred by acquirer, liabilities incurred by acquirer, and equity interests issued by the acquirer
(FASB 805 30 30 7). If the sum includes carrying amounts that differ from the fair value then these
assets and liabilities should be re measured at fair value and gains or losses should be recognized
(FASB 805 30 30 8). Assets and liabilities that are held both before and after the business combination
should not recognize a gain or loss; they should be measured at their carrying amounts directly before
the acquisition date (FASB 805 30 30 8).
Contingent Consideration A contingent consideration is usually an obligation of the acquirer to

Coinciding with the growth of the internet, citizen journalism has generated popularity over the years

A more complex and positive definition of citizen journalism by Courtney C. Radsch, suggests public
journalism is an activist form of newsgathering that could be an alternative to mainstream media.
Citizen journalism is reporting that functions outside mainstream media institutions, often as a
response to shortcoming in the professional journalistic field, that uses similar journalistic practices
but is driven by different objectives and ideals and relies on alternative sources of legitimacy than
traditional or mainstream journalism. (Jljtan005.blogspot.co.uk, 2014) In the view of Radsch then,
citizen journalists, without the constraints of working for a commercially driven outlet, are able to
make up for shortcomings present in traditional media and are able to offer news that previously
wouldn t have existed.
The growing online communities of citizen journalists might make the medium seem like a modern
phenomenon however as suggested by Heidi Cohen (2011) in her article, How Social Media Helps
Old Media, the concept of citizen journalism can be traced back to the 13th century when town criers
or bellmen made public announcements of news. In a medieval Britain, a large percentage of the
population could neither read nor write and so were informed of goings on by a town crier. This free

Why Is Coach Carter A Movie
Coach Carter is an American biographical sports drama film inspired by a true story of Richmond
High School basketball coach, Ken Carter, who made headlines in 1999 for benching his undefeated
high school basketball team due to poor academic results. It was released in 2005 and was directed by
Thomas Carter.
There are a few reasons as to why I chose this film over many others. Firstly, Coach Carter had a
twisted storyline as compared the sports drama films. Instead of focusing mainly on practising
basketball, they work hard towards achieving better grades and a secured future. Secondly, I think that
this movie stressed on setting clear expectations. I feel like I can relate to this as this current year will
be tough in the long run. It encourages me to plan and set better expectations to improve myself in
certain areas such as my character and education wise. This film sends the message of how dedication
and teamwork makes up a stronger team. To me, the theme in this movie is to not give up and when

Many organizations are usefully viewed as a web of relationships between and among various
stakeholder groups. An organization may be defined as a nexus of contracts, where said contracts are
relationships that are marked by contributions from the various stakeholders in return for inducements
provided by the organization. Over the long haul, the success of an organization is a function of the
extent to which the needs and requirements of its various stakeholders can be integrated and balanced,

A successful balanced scorecard implementation must also incorporate a communication mechanism,
which allows management to communicate its strategic vision and goals to the employees, who, in
return, can also report their processes and progress back to management.
Multidimensional Architecture
Since an organization is composed of multiple levels, a scorecard must support different levels and
perspectives from strategic business units and divisions, to departments, teams and individuals. To
accommodate this architecture, the scorecard is structured as multiple, aggregated cubes. Each layer a
nesting of the ones below. In general, the highest level cube defines the measures and dimensions that
apply to the corporate level, and these drill through to divisional and departmental cubes that have a
more detailed level of information (Nickols, 1999). This artery of the cubes lets the strategy
communicate down the organization, while performance is aggregated up through the organization
like blood through vein.
Cubes are an ideal vehicle to implement a hierarchical architecture. You can have both logical and
physical separation of the data; i.e., data can reside in one cube where different views are offered to
different users, or alternately data can be maintained in completely separate cubes. In cases where the
data is inconsistent, it may be allocated to provide managers with more

The American Family Should Be Like The Cosby Show, A...
There are several shows that portray both social and political messages. While answering this
question, I can t help but focus on shows that have exhibited what the American family should be like.
The Cosby Show, a social message, is an American sitcom the show focuses on the Huxtable s, an
upper middle class African American family living in Brooklyn, NY. I think the show set the standards
for how African American families should live, although many of us don t live that way. 4. Kendrick
Lamar is a hip hop recording artist, and for the African American community he has been a huge
social movement. I realized this during a pop culture class I took this semester. His new album, To
Pimp A Butterfly specifically, shows his dedication to trying to bring positivity to his listeners. He
recognizes that hip hop has some responsibility for the systematic problems that the black community
has faced. And according to, Music.Mic, Hip hop could have played a huge role in the death of
Michael Brown, with a New York Times obituary implying that Brown s hip hop aspirations somehow
factored into Brown s death. 5. In simple terms, a public relations nightmare is when someone s ( a
company as a whole or an individual s) reputation is damaged which in essence is a nightmare and
there s the responsibility of restoring the image to the public, which typically consists of supporters
and investors of the company and/or individual. An example would be the Volkswagen case.

In addition, they can launch a nuclear attack without the approval of Congress. In 1945, President

country and its people. Having complete control over an entire country and the most powerful
weapons known to man is a huge task given to the president as commander in chief and proves
furthermore how they are the most powerful branch. Another important power of the president as
commander in chief is that they have the power to gain additional territory for the United States.
Although this has not happened recently, the power is implied from the power to make and write
treaties from Article II of the Constitution. They have the power to take over another country, attempt
to invade, or make a trade deal regarding the land or property of a country. The Louisiana Purchase
was a major example of this power being used. In 1803, Thomas Jefferson bought over 800,000
square miles of land from France. It nearly doubled the size of the U.S. Today, it has shaped the way
the U.S. is today, with the addition of 11 states in the Midwest. Because of this power, the president

efforts.
BCAAs can help reverse this situation by reducing or slowing down the rate of proteins breaking

and its effects may be stronger than regular protein on its own. BCAAs may also help people to

Who Should Take BCAA Supplements?
Adults who are healthy, perform light to moderate exercise several times a week, and have a diet that

future. Sometimes I drive my husband crazy always talking about the children and their future.
Reading these lines, one might think my life is full and complete, but it is not; I miss having my own

  • 4. Origin And History Of Dance Origin and History of Dance The archaeological evidence for early dance includes 9,000 year old paintings found in India at the Rock Shelters of Bhimbetka, and Egyptian tomb paintings depicting dancing figures, dated 3300 BC. Before the invention of written languages, dance was the one of the most important method of passing stories down from generation to generation. The use of dance in ecstatic (ubjective experience of total involvement of the subject) or altered state of mind and healing rituals, as today in many cultures from the Brazilian rainforest to the Kalahari Desert, is thought to have been another early factor. Greek dance (horos) is referred to by Plato, Aristotle, Plutarch and Lucian. The Bible and Talmud refer to many events related to dance, and contain over 30 different dance terms. During the first millennium in India, many texts were composed which attempted to codify aspects of daily life. Bharata Muni s Natyashastra (literally the text of dramaturgy ) is one of the earlier texts. It mainly deals with drama, in which dance plays an important part in Indian culture. It categorises dance into four types secular, ritual, abstract, and, interpretive and into four regional varieties. The text elaborates various hand gestures (mudras) and classifies movements of the various limbs, steps and so on. From these beginnings rose the various classical styles recognised today. Many contemporary dance forms can be traced back to historical, traditional, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Why Pharmacy Is The Benefits And Risks All four of my grandparents grew up in China, in a small culture where foreign medicine, meaning medication and surgery, was not deemed acceptable or healthy for the human body. Invasive procedures and drugs were considered unnatural and looked down upon. However, a new age of scientific technology and knowledge has come around and when my paternal grandmother refused an eye surgery, she went partially blind until she agreed to go through with the surgery and take the medications she was assigned after. Although prescriptions are now engineered to be of the least minimal risk, the stubbornness of my grandmother has inspired me to join the pharmaceutical field, in hopes of making medication and prescriptions as safe and risk free as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This consultative aspect of pharmacy is what interests me the most. There are different kinds of pharmacists, but these are the general ones: community pharmacists, clinical pharmacists, consultant pharmacists and pharmaceutical industry pharmacists. Community pharmacists work in retail stores such as chain drug stores or independently owned pharmacies (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics), such as Rite Aid or Target. They are the pharmacies that provide over the counter medications and often give out free flu shots. Clinical pharmacists are those who give pharmaceutical advice to those in hospitals and clinics. However, they spend less time prescribing medication (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics) and are more involved in direct patient care (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics). As well as recommending drugs, they actually oversee the dosage and timing of the medication in the hospital. In the field of pharmacy, clinical pharmacists have duties more similar to those of physicians than community pharmacists, whom act as a modern day apothecary. Consultant pharmacists provide expert advice on the use of medications by individuals or within institutions, or on the provision of pharmacy services to institutions (American Society of Consultant Pharmacists). Rather than prescribing medications or the hands on surveillance of drugs, consultant pharmacists are just that consults of medication. Consultant ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Politicians on both sides, of the political spectrum, agree that the tax system that we use today is complicated and expensive. In order to completely understand the immense tax problems that are in this country, the current tax problems must be first analyzed and explained, short terms solutions must be created and used as a temporary answer for these problems, and finally long term solutions must be the permanent fix for the myriad of the problems that are troubling this nation. The purpose of the government is to protect and serve the people that live within the country s boundaries. In order to carry out this vital task the government needs revenue from the same people it protects ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To obtain long term solutions it is critical that the American government reshapes the tax code and provides Americans a substantial amount of tax relief. The current tax code is too complicated, it needs to be simplified. The way the current tax code is organized it seems that it someone needs an advanced degree in order to effectively understand and complete it. Simplifying the tax code will be beneficial to the average citizen and the government. This country needs to effectively increase the economic developments within its boundaries. To allow substantial economic development this government is absolutely necessary that this country put an end to corporate inversion. The biggest factors that contribute to corporate inversion are the incredibly high tax rate of thirty five percent and the decision by the American government to force a tax on company s income, regardless of their location. By lowering the corporate tax rate and allowing to America to transition from an international system to a more domestic one, corporate inversion will end which will add a enormous amount money back into the American economy. Although this experience may sometimes seem funny when it happens to others, in the end it is one of the worst aspects of life. What does it mean to be alive verses being dead is one of the main questions throughout the play Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead . Throughout the whole play R and G play with the ideas about death. During the course of the play Rosencrantz even asks what he thinks it would be like to be dead in a box. The answer is that he would rather be alive when put in the box with a chance that someone might come along and let him out. While they are playing this game, the audience is aware that there is a bigger thought behind being in a box, which in the play they are referring to as a coffin. This box metaphor can also be seen in bigger terms such as life itself. This metaphor leads the audience to think that they could already be in a box, and they can t get out. CYPs are involved in the metabolism of endogenous and xenobiotic compounds 1 4. CYPs belong to a variety of families with two global sub families, CYP51 and CYP61. CYP51 is involved in sterol biosynthesis and is reported as housekeeping CYP in fungi and is an important target for the antifungal drugs 3, 5. CYP51s are found in sterol producing animals, plants, protists, but rarely in bacteria, producing 14 α demethylated sterols 6. The CYP51 reaction occurs in three steps, each reaction requires one molecule of oxygen and two NADPH derived reducing equivalents 7 9. Another cytochrome P450 CYP61 (sterol 22 desaturase) represents an ancient activity, as the superfamily is present as CYP710 in plants 10. As a child, he probably heard stories, that would later inspire him. I think he wrote this story for two purposes: it s bedtime children s story on the surface, but deeper within, a look into postcolonialism. Many Americans are not politically intelligent or knowledgeable in current events so one well thought out advertisement can nudge someone to vote for a particular person or advocate for a certain issue. Political advertising does not significantly differ from advertising a consumer product such as Fructis shampoo or Poptarts because both are pushing all the good things about their product/issue onto you and hoping that you buy into what they are advertising and take the bait. Also, some advertisements will promote how bad the opposition is while declaring that their commodity/candidate is more qualified and superior for numerous reasons. However, from the narrator s perspective, he states, I had no intention of shooting the elephant I had merely sent for the rifle to defend myself if necessary . In his mind, he wishes that the elephant will not be dangerous because he does not want to murder an animal. However, the narrator cannot turn back. Behind him, there was an immense crowd, two thousand at the least and growing every minute. It blocked the road for a long distance on either side . The villagers expect him to be brave enough to shoot the elephant. If he gives up, then the villagers will laugh and mock him for being afraid to kill the elephant. The narrator knows that every white man s life in the East, was one long struggle not to be laughed at . If he turns back, he will indicate his weakness and lack of power over the Burmese. The same company that retold classic fables like Cinderella, Pocahontas, and Sleeping Beauty, notoriously exploits, objectifies, and hypersexualizes women s bodies and femininity and has created a multibillion dollar industry that profits from its demeaning ideals that negatively categorizes and homogenizes women. The Little Mermaid is no exception in the way it portrays beauty in terms of youth, smallness, and a pretty singing voice, thus subliminally sending the message to its youthful audience that women must prove their womanhood to men, the ultimate and most important judges or they are in fact inauthentic and flawed. This story also idealizes and constructs ways that feminism is falsely related to sexuality, consequently assuming that women s transition from childhood to womanhood is influentially provoked by their sexual curiosity and promiscuity, and unable to resist the opposite sex s carnal advances. Arial is just another example of the ways in which Disney ritually practices invoking inferior complexes to the linkage of women, depicting them as susceptible and needy of the dramatically hypermasculinized men, insinuating their superiority as the saviors of these women. The Process Of Boiling Reactants Reflux The reflux procedure is the process of boiling reactants while continuously cooling the vapour and returning it back to the flask as a liquid (chem.wisc.edu, 2014). The reactants are needed to be heated for a long period of time with the sulfuric acid, which acts as a catalyst to speed the reaction up, in order for the reactants to react and be converted into the products, which in this case is the ester. However the reactants are very volatile which means that it is easily evaporates and won t produce the products. Reflux is then needed and used to cool any of the reactant and product vapour evaporating to be heated by reflux once again. Separation/Purification There are a few different steps into separating and purifying the ester from the mixture. At the end of reflux, both the reactants and products are present in the pear shaped flask. This is because the acid used was very weak and did not fully react with the alcohol therefore once the mixture has reached a chemical equilibrium, the concentration will remain the same. This means that not all the reactants are going to be converted into products. Washing the mixture with 20mL of distilled water allowed the separation between the aqueous layer (water soluble substances) and the organic layer (ester) in the separating funnel. Therefore washing the mixture with distilled water is needed to separate the aqueous layer, which is discarded, with the ester. There will still be a small amount of acid which wasn t ... The end of the reaction rate is measured by the increase in the rate of concentration. There are two factors which contribute to the rate of the reaction, induction and inhibition. Induction is where the production rate of the clock chemical increases as the increases as the concentration of the solution increases. Whereas, Inhibition is where the chemical reacts with the clock chemical, increasing the concentration. The increase in the rate can only occur if all of the inhibitor chemical is consumed within the reaction (S.J Preece, 1999). Some examples of clock reactions are the arsenic (III) sulfide clock reaction, and Landolt iodine clock oxidation of bisulphite by iodate. This specific reaction is stated to be one of the most favourable clock reactions, showing a deep blue colour within a matter of seconds. This specific reaction involves two colourless solutions that mix together after a certain amount of time it yields a blue colour change. The chemical equilibrium is a formula used to describe the rate in reverse reactions. Chemical Equilibria: Rate = k [A]^p [B]^q The rate law will also be used to analyse the concentrations, and to determine whether the reaction is zero order, first order or a second order reaction. At many times, these philosophers have clashed in their ideologies however, each philosopher recognizes one possible state of being; anarchy. Anarchy is a state of disorder in which there is no official form of a systematic government rule. Philosophers such as Aristotle, Hobbes, Locke, Mearsheimer, Ikenberry, and Gilpin all acknowledge and agree that a state of anarchy can exist but they disagree in whether anarchy is good or bad. Conceptually, goodwill represents the future economic benefits arising from the other assets acquired in a business combination that are not individually identified and separately recognized (TEXT pg659). Goodwill is not measured internally because the valuation is difficult and near to impossible to pair with the costs of creating it (TEXT pg659). Consideration Transferred Consideration transferred is the amount paid by the acquirer to the previous owners to purchase the business. It is measured at acquisition date fair value and is the sum of assets transferred by acquirer, liabilities incurred by acquirer, and equity interests issued by the acquirer (FASB 805 30 30 7). If the sum includes carrying amounts that differ from the fair value then these assets and liabilities should be re measured at fair value and gains or losses should be recognized (FASB 805 30 30 8). Assets and liabilities that are held both before and after the business combination should not recognize a gain or loss; they should be measured at their carrying amounts directly before the acquisition date (FASB 805 30 30 8). Contingent Consideration A contingent consideration is usually an obligation of the acquirer to transfer additional assets or equity to previous owners if specific conditions are met (FASB 805 30 20). The View Of Citizen Journalism Discuss the view that citizen journalism represents a challenge to commercially driven, conglomerate owned journalism that is important both to the news industry and wider society. (2136/2000 words) Prediction 52: In the future, everyone will be a news reporter. (Addams, 1997) Coinciding with the growth of the internet, citizen journalism has generated popularity over the years and is no longer considered niche. Modernly armed with smartphones and social media outlets, the general public are often able to record and publish material long before a journalist has even caught scent of a story. In an industry where being first to publish is highly important it s understandable why some people might consider citizen journalism a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A more complex and positive definition of citizen journalism by Courtney C. Radsch, suggests public journalism is an activist form of newsgathering that could be an alternative to mainstream media. Citizen journalism is reporting that functions outside mainstream media institutions, often as a response to shortcoming in the professional journalistic field, that uses similar journalistic practices but is driven by different objectives and ideals and relies on alternative sources of legitimacy than traditional or mainstream journalism. (Jljtan005.blogspot.co.uk, 2014) In the view of Radsch then, citizen journalists, without the constraints of working for a commercially driven outlet, are able to make up for shortcomings present in traditional media and are able to offer news that previously wouldn t have existed. The growing online communities of citizen journalists might make the medium seem like a modern phenomenon however as suggested by Heidi Cohen (2011) in her article, How Social Media Helps Old Media, the concept of citizen journalism can be traced back to the 13th century when town criers or bellmen made public announcements of news. In a medieval Britain, a large percentage of the population could neither read nor write and so were informed of goings on by a town crier. Why Is Coach Carter A Movie Coach Carter is an American biographical sports drama film inspired by a true story of Richmond High School basketball coach, Ken Carter, who made headlines in 1999 for benching his undefeated high school basketball team due to poor academic results. It was released in 2005 and was directed by Thomas Carter. There are a few reasons as to why I chose this film over many others. Firstly, Coach Carter had a twisted storyline as compared the sports drama films. Instead of focusing mainly on practising basketball, they work hard towards achieving better grades and a secured future. Secondly, I think that this movie stressed on setting clear expectations. I feel like I can relate to this as this current year will be tough in the long run. It encourages me to plan and set better expectations to improve myself in certain areas such as my character and education wise. Alternate Ways of Measuring Performance Essay Balanced Scorecard Alternate Ways of Measuring Performance Abstract Many organizations are usefully viewed as a web of relationships between and among various stakeholder groups. An organization may be defined as a nexus of contracts, where said contracts are relationships that are marked by contributions from the various stakeholders in return for inducements provided by the organization. Over the long haul, the success of an organization is a function of the extent to which the needs and requirements of its various stakeholders can be integrated and balanced, without sacrificing any one to the other. A successful balanced scorecard implementation must also incorporate a communication mechanism, which allows management to communicate its strategic vision and goals to the employees, who, in return, can also report their processes and progress back to management. Multidimensional Architecture Since an organization is composed of multiple levels, a scorecard must support different levels and perspectives from strategic business units and divisions, to departments, teams and individuals. To accommodate this architecture, the scorecard is structured as multiple, aggregated cubes. Each layer a nesting of the ones below. In general, the highest level cube defines the measures and dimensions that apply to the corporate level, and these drill through to divisional and departmental cubes that have a more detailed level of information (Nickols, 1999). This artery of the cubes lets the strategy communicate down the organization, while performance is aggregated up through the organization like blood through vein. Cubes are an ideal vehicle to implement a hierarchical architecture. You can have both logical and physical separation of the data; i.e., data can reside in one cube where different views are offered to different users, or alternately data can be maintained in completely separate cubes. While answering this question, I can t help but focus on shows that have exhibited what the American family should be like. The Cosby Show, a social message, is an American sitcom the show focuses on the Huxtable s, an upper middle class African American family living in Brooklyn, NY. I think the show set the standards for how African American families should live, although many of us don t live that way. 4. Kendrick Lamar is a hip hop recording artist, and for the African American community he has been a huge social movement. I realized this during a pop culture class I took this semester. His new album, To Pimp A Butterfly specifically, shows his dedication to trying to bring positivity to his listeners. He recognizes that hip hop has some responsibility for the systematic problems that the black community has faced. And according to, Music.Mic, Hip hop could have played a huge role in the death of Michael Brown, with a New York Times obituary implying that Brown s hip hop aspirations somehow factored into Brown s death. 5. In simple terms, a public relations nightmare is when someone s ( a company as a whole or an individual s) reputation is damaged which in essence is a nightmare and there s the responsibility of restoring the image to the public, which typically consists of supporters and investors of the company and/or individual. Having complete control over an entire country and the most powerful weapons known to man is a huge task given to the president as commander in chief and proves furthermore how they are the most powerful branch. Another important power of the president as commander in chief is that they have the power to gain additional territory for the United States. Although this has not happened recently, the power is implied from the power to make and write treaties from Article II of the Constitution. They have the power to take over another country, attempt to invade, or make a trade deal regarding the land or property of a country. The Louisiana Purchase was a major example of this power being used. In 1803, Thomas Jefferson bought over 800,000 square miles of land from France. It nearly doubled the size of the U.S. Today, it has shaped the way the U.S. is today, with the addition of 11 states in the Midwest.
