Information about data mining is the practice of automatically searching large stores of data to discover patterns and trends that go beyond simple analysis. Data mining is a powerful tool that can help you to find patterns and relationships within your data, but data does not work by it self. Now a days huge amount of data is ignored, a survey says that 90% of all the end word is generated in past few years. If we talk about the big data, the data is generated daily is in the form of unstructured data. We were living in the data age where in every place you can see the data generation.
Huge amount of data is being collected everywhere - when we browse the web, go to the doctor's clinic, visit the supermarket, tweet or watch a movie. This plethora of data is dealt under a new realm called Data Science. Data Science is now recognized as a highly-critical growing area with impact across many sectors including science, government, finance, health care, social networks, manufacturing, advertising, retail,
and others. This colloquium will try to provide an overview as well as clarify bits and bats about this emerging field.
"Big data" is a broad term that encompasses a wide range of data and contents. Big data offers new approaches to analysis and decision making. At first glance big data and IP may seem to be opposites, but have more in common than one may think. This talk will focus on how big data will impact, and be impacted, by IP. One of the biggest promises in big data is the possibility to re-use data produced via different sources, create new services or predict the future, via the analysis of correlations. In this context, how can companies protect information assets and analytical skills? What are the new skills required to search and analyze in real time a big amount of datasets ? Big data will change not only patents information, but will also generate new types of patents.

Brain Bridge: A Comparative Study between Database Querying and Human Memory ...IOSR Journals
Abstract: The human memory is always been subject to many innovations and research since a very long time.
As far as our knowledge exceeds, it is the fastest information retrieval system present. Further, the database
management systems are specially designed applications that interact with the user to retrieve and analyze data.
Its working can be best understood with the help of a human memory structure. While the database system itself
is conceptualized from the human memory, it is important to know the similarities and working principles
between these two. In this paper, we throw some light on the context of database structure, it working and we
refer it with respect to the human memory system.
Keywords: Brain mapping, database system, human memory, indexing, and information retrieval

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!
Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:

Editor's Notes
Today we have 80% of the information or data generated in our world is a dark data. We may reference it to be "unstructured data". Think of weather data, sensors in your car, images, photos, videos, songs, speech recording, tweets, posts, locations.... etc. You name it, it is essentially the data generated in our digital world that can't be stored or processed by a database.
Currently, only humans can process such data. However, with the explosion of the volume of this dark data (estimated by 2020, 1.7 Megabyte of new information will be created every minute for every human being on the planet- that’s 2.4Gigabyte per day per person), no human will able to process this data in his lifetime.
So, we need a system that can process this data like a human but at scale and with very high speed. We need a system that can understand the world through sensing, interacting, reasoning using hypotheses and arguments and learning from experts and through data. 3
So, a "Cognitive System" is system that can:
Understand: Adapt and make sense of all data; “read” text, “see” images and “hear” natural speech with context.
Reason: Interpret information, organize it and offer explanations of what it means, with rationale for the conclusions.
Learn: Accumulate data and derive insight at every interaction, perpetually to increase the quality of its reasoning and decision process.
What is the meaning of word "Cognitive"?
Cognition is "the mental action or process of acquiring knowledge and understanding through thought, experience, and the senses. It encompasses processes such as knowledge, attention, memory and working memory, judgment and evaluation, reasoning and "computation", problem solving and decision making, comprehension and production of language, etc.
In a nutshell (in other words), it is the way we as humans’ process information to make a decision. So, Cognitive is person or a being that is able to use the Cognition process.
What is the difference between a Cognitive System and a Programmable System?
Programmable computing: responds to requests and makes determinations, analyzing data according to predefined parameters. This means their outcome is designed by the person that programmed it. These systems by design are pre determined based on a rigid set of parameters, defined for specific outcomes. These systems are what we consider deterministic.
Cognitive systems: interact with humans naturally to interpret data, learning from virtually every interaction and proposing new possibilities through probabilistic reasoning. They do not give pre- determined responses but are probabilistic, this means they generate hypotheses, reasoned arguments and recommendations, period. Because of this critical variable cognitive systems can make sense of the 80% of dark data that exists in the world and they can scale to keep pace with the complexity and unpredictability of information in the modern world.
In this new era, we need to look to a system that has the ability to think and consume data from a breadth of data types, this means relying on programmable systems for back office efforts, but cognitive systems to engage humans differently and critically advance our combined insight through social and physical interactions.
What is Watson?
IBM Watson is a question answering computer system capable of answering questions posed in natural language, Watson was named after IBM's first CEO and industrialist Thomas J. Watson. The computer system was specifically developed to answer questions on the quiz show Jeopardy! Which it won against best human Jeopardy champions.
IBM Watson is a technology platform that uses natural language processing and machine learning to reveal insights from large amounts of unstructured data. Watson first needs to learn a new subject before it can answer questions about it.
Reading
Traditional computer systems depend on a knowledge base of structured information. They are limited in the kinds of information they can use, and that information must be analyzed and structured for them before they can use it. In contrast, Watson can read unstructured information and figure out its contents, giving it access to a much larger body of information and allowing it to digest (усваивать) that information with much less pre-processing.
Understanding
Because we train Watson on a corpus of knowledge rather than programming it, it does not rely solely on rigid decision trees. Instead Watson combines conventional searches with Natural Language Processing to more flexibly and completely understand what we are looking for.
Prioritizing
Because it works by building hypotheses and testing them, rather than running down rigid decision trees, Watson can show us its work and prioritize its recommendations to help humans make better decisions.
