- The document discusses strategies for entrepreneurs to conquer chaos in their businesses. It outlines 6 key strategies - building emotional capital, practicing disciplined optimism, asserting independence, centralizing and organizing systems, tapping into the power of follow-up, and moving from manual to automated systems.
- Half of new businesses will fail within a year due to challenges like payroll pressure, customer issues, employees, personal challenges, and doubts. Typical growth strategies just lead to more chaos.
- The founders provide their own story of building Infusionsoft from a warehouse to a company with over 135 employees and 20,000 users to demonstrate how conquering chaos through systems and mindsets can enable business growth.
LAUNCH scale - Avoiding a Culture Implosion As You Scale Your StartupBill Nussey
Earlier this week, I had a chance to speak at one of Silicon Valley’s larger Startup Events, LAUNCH Scale <>.
Start ups can fail for many reasons. Lack of funding. Insufficient market opportunity. Poor product fit. But the most tragic source of failure occurs when a company survives all these challenges only to implode due to entirely internal reasons like scaling their operations and technology.
My speech focused on the most tragic, least talked about and all-too common source of implosions: scaling culture.
Some of the topics I covered included:
* The three stages of start up growth: Family (<25 people), Tribe (25-125 people) and Town (125+ people)
* Common reasons why startups can culturally implode: Too much stuff, generalist to specialist, Dunbar’s number.
* Survival tips on avoiding a cultural implosion: Avoid the Right Leaders at the Wrong Time , Set Three Goals Per Person , Keep Placing Small Strategic Bets and Embrace a Mission
I was really amazed all the people I talked with later in the day whose stories reflected these challenges. Some had happy endings. Some did not. Quite a few were happening live. Thanks to IBM, the LAUNCH team and all the great startup leaders I met for the opportunity to share my experiences.
Charles Darwin said, "It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent. It is the one that is most adaptable to change." This has never been more true for businesses and careers than in this pandemic. Companies, departments, teams and people who are not AGILE enough to adapt to the drastic changes presented by this crisis will find it difficult to return to normal, much less thrive in their businesses or careers. Thankfully, AGILE business processes and concepts have been around for a long time. We simply ignored these concepts because the unexpected hasn't happened yet. Well, the unexpected just kicked us in the teeth. It's time to get AGILE.

Do you ever find yourself thinking, “I KNOW I should be making more money” … and yet it just isn’t showing up?
What I’m sharing with you here applies to business owners, corporate jobs and even relationships. So we could be talking about the currency of revenue, but we could also be talking about the currency of love. It’s a current … in other words … what we’re really talking about is energy. And more specifically, we’re talking about the energy underneath a situation.
We often know the brilliance we bring to the table ... we’re experienced, we’re confident, we get fantastic results in our work … so why do we struggle so much in bringing in the revenue? We KNOW we should be making more money! When we’re feeling deeply, painfully and hopelessly stuck in a lack of revenue, it’s just so frustrating! In this episode, I’ll show you how to create big money, and what to do when it just isn’t showing up yet!
3 Takeaways:
1) There’s only one reason we don’t have prosperity, and that’s because we’re focused on lack.
2) Everything gets created energetically first. And THEN it comes into physical reality. So if we’re thinking about what we don’t have, that vibration of what we don’t have creates our reality.
3) There’s really no difference in where we are now and where we want to be … it’s simply a matter of perspective. When our perspective is all about what we don’t have yet, we’re sitting in an illusion that’s asking us to step up to a higher perspective.
The biggest mistake to avoid? Negative emotions are always an indicator that we’re in resistance. The good news is, when we realize we’re in negativity, it’s our signal to change the energy. We want to get the energy into positivity FIRST, so that we’re helping our vision move toward manifestation.

Managing your business challenges, frustrations and stressesPatsy Lim
As an entrepreneur who has owned over 20 businesses and helped countless others, I see the same challenges, frustrations and stresses over and over again especially in small business. I can confidently say that if you have been in business for any length of time, then you would have gone through the challenges, frustrations and stresses . Can you overcome these challenges and frustrations (without throttling someone)? Yes. But not overnight. There are no shortcuts. There is no golden goose that lays the golden eggs. There is no magic wand that you can wave. But there are strategies you can put in place to overcome them.

Be Productive NOT Busy! Wayne Weathersby (Podcast)Wayne Weathersby
Maximizing your personal growth is a worthy pursuit. In fact, many people make personal development their primary purpose in life. But even if you just want to smooth up your rough edges, having an effective mindset for personal growth will make the process more enjoyable and your efforts more fruitful. Your mindset can make all the difference! Consider developing these qualities to optimize your growth: 1. An open mind. Personal growth requires considering new perspectives, ideas, habits, and beliefs. If you’re dead set on approaching the world in a particular way, you’re greatly limiting your growth. Only when you are open to all the various possibilities can your growth be maximized. Consider that if you already had an optimal perspective and approach to everything, you’d already have everything you want. You may be mistaken about multiple things. Are you willing to figure out what those things are? Are you open to the idea that you might change your objectives based on new things that you discover about the world and yourself? 2. An interest in learning. Are you willing to learn about goal setting? Overcoming fear? Discipline? Communication skills? Reading about new ideas? There’s a lot that you don’t know that you need to know if you’re going to become everything that you’re capable of being. 1 3. The willingness to fail. Trying new things requires failure. It’s rare and lucky to succeed at something the first time. Whether you’re learning to be a better public speaker, taking a class, or learning how to play the violin, there will be failure. Failure provides the opportunity to learn and then to apply that knowledge during future attempts. 4. The desire to experiment. Should you eat a vegan, vegetarian, or paleo diet? Try them all and see what works for you. You can’t be certain what you want to have, do, or be until you’ve experimented and found the best answer for yourself. 5. The ability to set your ego aside. Your ego is a major obstacle when it comes to maximizing your personal growth. Your ego makes you more likely to be certain you’re right when you’re wrong. It leads you to blame others when the fault is your own. It also makes you afraid to fail. 6. Value improvement over perfection. Daily improvement is incredibly powerful. It’s not possible to be great at something instantly. When you can get excited about improving by 1% at something, you have a great mindset for personal growth. 7.Patience. Personal growth is an ongoing process. It may take decades to become the best possible version of yourself. Even figuring out the ideal sleeping schedule can take several weeks of trial and error. It takes time to get over your social anxiety or lose weight. Patience is an important factor! 8. Determination. Changing and growing isn’t for the weak. It’s important to be 2 determined and committed to changing yourself and your life. Determination is a valuable asset to have in many facets of life.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!
