Classroom Rules and Procedures
The following discipline procedures
will be used in class!
Classroom Rules
• 1. Respect is a must for this class; respect for yourself and others.
• 2. Be polite. Manners are a must for this class. Do not speak while I
am speaking, or while other students in the class are participating. It
is rude.
• 3. Raise your hand to be acknowledged. Do not yell out.
• 4. Do not get out of your seat for any reason, unless given
permission by me.
• 5. Be honest. No lying and no cheating. I am here to help you so
ask for help if you need it.
Classroom Rules
• 6. Come to class with a willing and positive attitude. No complaining.
• 7. Come to class prepared (homework completed, supplies ready,
brains turned on).
• 8. Grades are ACHIEVED not RECEIVED. Do your best.
• 9. Time management is a must for this class.
• 10. Class participation is a must for this class.
• 11. Science is FUN, enjoy it.
Disciplinary Procedures
• You will receive one
warning if any rules
are broken.
• If the behavior
continues a 10 minute
conference with me
will be handed out.
• If the behavior
continues a 1-hour
detention will be
given.
Disciplinary Procedures
• If detention is not
served, an in-school
suspension will be
given.
• If this is not served, a
referral to
administration will be
made and parents will
be asked to come in
for a conference to
remediate behavior. This procedure may be altered
according to the severity of the
offence!!!!
Incentives

Classroom Procedures
Being Prepared and Writing Utensils
• Being Prepared
Bring required materials
each day. (Loose leaf
paper, writers notebook,
pen and a pencil)
• Writing Utensils
a. Students may use a
pencil or a pen (blue or
black ink)
b. Blue or black ink should
be used for formal
writing assignments.
c. Typed or computer
generated work will be
accepted with prior
approval of the teacher.
Entering and Exiting Class
• Entering Class
A. After entering the room,
students may not leave.
B. Students may not leave
books and materials outside
the classroom for any reason
C. Upon entering, students
should go to their assigned
seats and prepare for class.
D. Begin working on bellringer.
• Exiting Class
A. The teacher will dismiss the
class Not The Bell.
B. Do not pack books to exit
class until instructed to do so
by the teacher.
C. Students are responsible for
cleaning the area around
their desks before leaving the
room.
Maintaining Your Notebook and Writers Notebook
• Your Notebook and Folder
a. Keep the following in your
notebook: Class notes,
vocabulary, assignments,
bellringers, homework.
b. All materials must be dated
and in the right order.
c. Notebooks will be checked
every nine weeks. This grade
will count as a test grade.
• Writers Notebook
a. This will be a spiral
notebook.
b. This notebook will be used
for private entries as well as
class assignments and
writing starts.
Papers
Paper usage
• Writing on the
back of
homework and
class work is
permitted and
encouraged.
• Do not write on
the bottom line of
the paper, go to
next page.
Heading Papers
• Write your name
and date in the top-
right hand corner of
the first page.
• Write your last name
and number any
following pages in the
upper right hand
corner.
•Do not fold papers!!!
Passing in papers
•Each student should
place their paper on
top of the paper
beside you and pass
them across the row.
• The student on the
last seat should collect
all papers place them
in the appropriate
class drawer.
Restroom and Water
• Restroom
a. Students should use the
restroom before class.
b. After entering the
classroom, students will
not be allowed to leave
unless it is an extreme
Emergency.
• Water
a. Students should get
water before class. You
may have water at your
desk.

Pencil Sharpening and Trash
• Pencil Sharpening
a. Students are to sharpen
pencils upon entering
the classroom
b. If your lead breaks
during class and if your
have no other writing
utensil, raise your hand
and wait for further
instructions.
• Trash
a. Trash will be thrown
away when your are
dismissed from class.
Keep it at your desk until
you are dismissed.
b. Pick up all paper around
your desk before leaving
the room.
