TEACHER ETIQUETTE :
• Etiquette is socially acceptable “good manners” which vary from one society to another, and
one age to another.
• Etiquette is a code of behaviour that outlines expectations for social behaviour within a society,
social class or group.
• Rules of etiquette include all aspects of social interaction including manners. Etiquette can
vary a lot from country to country especially in business and social interaction.
• Treat all students with love and affection.
• The meaning and importance of etiquettes can vary from individual to individual.
SOME GENERAL TEACHING
ETIQUETTES:
GENERAL ETIQUETTES :
• All of these tips are appropriate for any work place setting. The world of education is no
exception -
• Attire – Wearing appropriate clothing
• Punctuality –(Be on time or Before on time) Abide by the school's rules contracted hours for
teachers and show up on time (even early) for all work functions.
• Effectiveness – Use work time effectively and appropriately.
ATTIRE
• Dress which has had the influences on the perceptions of viewers whether students or outsiders, is
more than just a wearing. At first instance, the outlook imposes a very positive. A positive impression
ultimately imposes a positive atmosphere of learning toward the students’ mind. An individual’s
personality can be revealed through appearance depending on importance of clothing.
• Choice in clothing can communicate responsibility, status, power, and the ability to be successful.
• Dressing appropriately must be important in teaching.
• For mens should wear formal shirts and pants.
• Jeans, t- shirts or weekend outfits are not allowed .
• For women , on the basis of our culture wearing sarees are required.
PUNCTUALITY
• Punctuality is a habit of attending a task on time. In a wider sense, it's a habit of doing things at the
right time.
• Punctuality is the key to get success in life.
• A punctual and disciplined student always gets respect and social acceptance in the school and
society.
• They are admired by the parents and teachers..
• Abide by the school's contracted hours for teachers and show up on time (even
early) for all work functions such as IEP meetings and professional
development events.
• If you do need to leave early, let your administrator know ahead of time.
• Teachers who show up ready and on time demonstrate that they take themselves
and their responsibilities seriously.
EFFECTIVENESS
• Use work time effectively and appropriately.
• The teacher’s ability to understand the individual profiles—the strengths and
weaknesses—of every student in the classroom.
• Curriculum-focused professional development helps provide teachers the “what” they
need to provide in terms of classroom instruction.
• Teacher effectiveness begins with each teacher’s ability to apply the instructional
strategies and cover the appropriate material as outlined in the scope and sequence of
the selected curriculum.
• Teacher effectiveness begins with each teacher’s ability to apply the instructional strategies and
cover the appropriate material as outlined in the scope and sequence of the selected curriculum
• Teacher effectiveness plays an important role in teaching – learning process.Effective teachers have a
thorough knowledge of their subject content and skills. Through this, they inspire in their students a
love of learning. They also understand how students best learn concepts, content and skills.
• How to improve the effectiveness?
1. Introduce technology in the classroom.
2. Personalise the learning experience of the students.
3. Involve Parents in the Classroom.
4. Empower students to be active learners.
OTHER ETTTIQUETTE:
• To set up a good example.
• To make himself /herself a better supporter for his students.
• To bounce back mistakes.
• To be more productive.
• To be more emphatatic.
• To realize the dream of good society.
• To maintain the dignity of profession.
• Ethical conduct towards students.
• To strive for excellence.
ETIQUETTES GONE WRONG
CONCLUSION :
• The field of education is gaining popularity .It is time when the etiquettes are beyond just saying thank
you, please and sorry.
• The combination of two your academic qualification and etiquettes will be wonderful. We have
discussed that first of all people form their ideas about anybody at nonverbal bases.
• You can win the heart of people around you by your etiquettes.
