US is gaining ground in our country. The American Medical Association, in particular,
aims to influence our doctors towards changing how we do medicine in Canada. The
recent annual Halifax meeting last August 23 to 26, for instance, conducted under the
leadership of the Canadian Medical Association, has an 80,000 member group ready
to lobby for mandatory vaccinations (Mihalovic n.p.). If their influence among

Living to Die and Dying to Live: A Perversion of the Legend of Lazarus The legend
of Lazarus (also known as Saint Lazarus or Lazarus of Bethany) is well known. In
the original story, Jesus of Nazareth raises him from the dead after four days as an
example of the almighty power of God. In fact, this tale is so prominent that it is the
namesake of a medical anomaly, songs, and, most relevantly, Lady Lazarus by Sylvia
Plath. Most incarnations of the story of Lazarus maintain a sensational and awe
inspiring nature; however, it would be unlike Plath to construct a piece with the same

Plath, in the second and third stanzas, describes her right foot as a paperweight and
her face as a Jewish linen (lines 6 9). Her right foot specifically being a
paperweight holds some Biblical significance. The right direction, on Judgement

otherwise fly away. When these two symbols are combined, readers can conclude

up killing the Egyptian. Out if fear Moses leaves Egypt and lands in Midian.

about the systems environmental benefits are greatly overstated. As per Due
Diligence Report, California HSR will cause very little reduction of the
greenhouse gas emissions (CO2). The California Air Resources Board forecasts
that the HSR would reduce CO2 emissions equal to only 1.5% of the current state
objective. On the other hand the California High Speed Rail Authority has made an
exaggerated claim of achieving almost 50% of the state objective. McKinsey report
indicated that the CO2 emission reductions in the United States can be achieved for
about $50 per ton. On comparison, the cost per ton of CO2 emission removal by
HSR is very high ranging between 39 and 201 times the IPCC ceiling of $50. So it
can be understood that the impact of High Speed Rail on CO2 would be
inconsequential and exorbitantly costly. Hence, the CO2 emission reduction due to
high speed rail cannot be legitimately included as an element of a rational strategy for
reducing GHG emissions. Considering the untenable traffic impact projections,
California High Speed Rail Authority s claims are considered specious. To attain more
liability to the claims of the authority, an independent assessment of HSR s CO2

With all of this information collected, I was able to begin to analyze my notes and
findings. While conducting my research, I found that urban legends have existed
since the beginning of time in all different kinds of cultures and societies around
the world. One example of this would be the Incas. The idea of urban legends in
Inca society played a key role throughout many people s lives. Legends of early

television series called All in the Family. Ferretti asked, whether or not if racism and
bigotry were considered funny and he concluded that it was not and as a result
believed that the show was lacking good taste. Apparently, the television viewers of
America disagreed. Running from 1971 to 1979, All In The Family wasn t the first
television series to tackle major issues on a major network, but what was innovative
about the series, was that is that it hewed its situational comedy from topical issues,
and it explored them through characters we got to know and cared about every week.
Simply put, All in the Family wasn t just a great situational comedy; it as was an
ongoing national conversation rooted in well written, well acted and multifaceted
characters.
In 1969, a young comedy writer named Norman Lear was given approval by CBS
to create an American version of the popular British sitcom Till Death Do Us Part.
Produced and developed by Lear, this concept of a sitcom about a blue collar

1971, the series focused on the lives of a working class family from the New York
