This document classifies and briefly explains eight types of concrete: 1) Plain Cement Concrete, 2) Lime Concrete, 3) Reinforced Cement Concrete, 4) Pre-stressed Cement Concrete, 5) Light-weight Concrete, 6) Cellular or Aerated Concrete, 7) Saw Dust Concrete, and 8) Vacuum Concrete. It provides details on the typical ingredients and properties of each type. For example, plain cement concrete uses cement, sand, and gravel and is strong in compression, while light-weight concrete uses materials like cinder or slag to produce a concrete with high insulating properties.

4. Plain Cement Concrete
 The plain cement concrete consists of cement, sand
and a coarse aggregate mixed in suitable proportions
in addition water.
 The cement use as a binding material, sand as fine
aggregate and gravel, broken brick or crushed stone
as coarse aggregate.
 The usual proportion of ingredients in plane cement
are: Portland cement (1 part), clean sand (1.5 to 8
parts), and coarse aggregate (3 to 16 parts).
 The plain cement concrete is strong in taking
compressive stress.

5. Lime Concrete
 The lime cement concrete consists of lime, a fine
aggregate and a coarse aggregate mixed in suitable
proportions in addition water.
 The hydraulic lime use as a binding material, sand,
surki and cinder as fine aggregate and gravel, broken
brick or crushed stone as coarse aggregate.
 The usual proportion of ingredients in lime cement
are: lime (1 part), sand (2 to 3 parts), and coarse
aggregate (2 to 4 parts).
 The lime cement concrete is chipper and has less
strength then plain cement concrete.

6. Reinforced Cement Concrete
 The reinforced cement concrete consists is a cement
concrete in which reinforcement is embedded.
 The usual proportion of ingredients in reinforced
cement concrete are: Portland cement (1 part), clean
sand (1 to 2 parts), and coarse aggregate (2 to 4
parts).
 The reinforced cement concrete is equally strong to
taking tensile, compressive and shear stresses.

7. Pre-stressed Cement Concrete(PCC)
 The Pre-stressed cement concrete is a cement
concrete in which high compressive stress and
artificially induced before its actual use.
 This type of concrete is take up to high tensile and
compressive stress without development of crecks.

8. Light-weight Concrete
 The light-weight concrete is prepared by using coke-
breeze, cinder slag as aggregate in the cement
concrete.
 This type of concrete process high insulating
property.
 It is used to make pre-cast structural units for
partition and well lining purposes.

9. Cellular or Aerated Concrete
 The cellular concrete is prepared by mixing
aluminium in the cement concrete.
 It is light in weight and spongy in structure
 It is used I roof slab and precast units in partitions
for heat and sound insulation.

10. Saw Dust Concrete
 The saw dust concrete is prepared by the mix
Portland cement with saw dust in specified
proportion in concrete.
 It is used I roof slab and precast units in partitions
for heat and sound insulation.

11. Vacuum Concrete
 The Vacuum Concrete is a cement concrete for which
entered air and excess water removed by vacuum
pump, after placing it in position.
 The removal of air and excess water after placing
concrete helps in increasing the strength of concrete
by 15 to 20 percent.
 It is used for all reinforced concrete works.
