The circulatory system helps control blood flow throughout the body using the heart, veins and arteries. It works with the respiratory system to oxygenate blood in the lungs and remove carbon dioxide. Key components include the heart which pumps blood, the aorta which is the largest artery, veins which carry blood toward the heart, and arteries which carry blood away from the heart.
