CI's international policy work focuses on climate change, biodiversity, and fresh water. For climate change, CI has been involved in UNFCCC and advocates for incentives to reduce deforestation and community adaptation approaches. For biodiversity, CI engages in CBD and provides scientific information to help conservation areas and nature's value. For fresh water, CI works to reform national water laws, support the UN Watercourses Convention for transboundary management, and consider freshwater at CBD.
