The analysis of environmentally sensitive areas can be...
The analysis of environmentally sensitive areas can be done on the basis of different parameters such
as?. The selection of the layers is an open process, though only meaningful layers produce meaningful
results. Basso et al. (2000) in their study used an integrated, multi level, approach to study the
different environmental degradation stages and the existing interactions amongst the individual
components of the landscape of the Agri basin in the Basilicata Region in Southern Italy. They
considered an Environmental Sensitive Area as a specific and delimited entity in which environmental
and socio economical factors are not balanced or are not sustainable for that particular environment.
Among the different parameters they analysed were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
MEditerranean Desertification And Land USe (MEDALUS) project is one of the largest project of the
European Comission established to analyse the global and regional climate changes. The MEDALUS
model (Kosmas et al.1999) identifies regions that are environmentally sensitive area (ESAs). In this
model, different types of ESAs to desertification can be analysed in terms of various parameters such
as landforms, soil, geology, vegetation, climate, and human actions. Each of these parameters is
grouped into various uniform classes and a weighting factor is assigned to each class. Then four layers
are evaluated: soil quality, climate quality, vegetation quality, and management quality. As outlined by
Kosmas et al. (1999) and Brandt et al. (2003), the method should be reasonably simple, robust and
widely applicable; the selection of parameters to assess environmental quality must be made attending
to their availability, economy and ability to update and the system should be adaptable to the
development and refinement of the existing information content and the possible addition of new
information. The principal innovation which was brought in to the study by Kirkby et al. (1998) in
their study of MEDALUS was long term interactions with the vegetation and soil, with implications
for the way in which the surface flow and infiltration are described and distributed area wise. The
model contains four inter related sub models for the atmosphere, vegetation, soil and

This biotechnology approach creates a better climate, lower costs and increases quantity production in

Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors
The Mechanism of Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors
Though there are multiple treatment domains within cancer immunotherapy, a major source of
excitement has been the discovery and the proven efficacy of immune checkpoint inhibitors
Ipilimumab, Nivolumab, Pembrolizumab. These drugs operate on the basis that our own immune cells
can recognize and eliminate self cells (and malignant cells), but are usually inhibited from doing so by
specific receptors and ligand complexes. These mechanisms normally serve to maintain self tolerance
and limit collateral tissue damage during immune responses, but are exploited by cancers to evade
immune effector cells.[2]
Essentially, immune checkpoints occur during the 1) priming/activation and 2) effector phases ...

Dakota Pipeline Essay
The Dakota Pipeline is a 1,712 mile pipeline that goes from the oil rich Bakken and goes underground,
it would stretch from the tops of Montana and North Dakota that meet Canada and the southeast into
South Dakota, Iowa, and Illinois. The US Army corps of engineering approved the construction of the
pipeline to take place. Protests are a common sight to see on the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation to
stop the pipeline from being built. The protesters are doing everything in their power to stop this
pipeline construction. Adding on, if the pipeline is built then it would damage the historical past of the
Sioux Tribe, it would damage the environment, and it will disturb sacred lands and the way of life of
Native Americans that live in the upper Midwest. If the pipeline is constructed, it would damage the
historical past of the Sioux Tribe. The Sioux Tribe came from Asia about 30,000 years ago. They had

The Black Movement And Women s Liberation Movement
The Black Feminist Movement was formed in response to the rise and success of the Black Civil
Rights Movement and the Women s Liberation Movement. In an era of drastic social reform, many
black women believed that their needs were not being properly addressed. Black Feminism played a
significant role in American History by highlighting the flaws in the various liberation movements that
arose. In doing so, it gave rise to many Black Feminist Organizations which in turn fostered a sense of
accomplishment and effectiveness in the Black Female Community.
In 1973, the Black Feminist Movement was officially established with the founding of the National
Black Feminist Organization (NBFO) in New York. The aim, as stated by The 1973 Statement of
Purpose of the NBFO , was to address ourselves to the particular and specific needs of the larger, but
almost cast aside half of the black race in [America], the black woman. In essence, the NBFO was
founded to call attention to the oppression Black Women experienced and call for social, political, and
economic reform. The specific issues which the Black Feminist Movement focused on included
reproductive rights, sterilization abuse, equal access to abortion, health care, child care, the rights of
the disabled, violence against women, rape, battering, sexual harassment, welfare rights, police
brutality, labor organizing, anti imperialist struggles, anti racist organizing, nuclear disarmament, and

Maximal Oxygen Consumption And The Oxygen
Maximal oxygen consumption or VO2 max refers to the single maximum oxygen consumption that an
individual can utilize during graded intensity exercise. VO2 max can be assessed through properly
administered submaximal oxygen consumption test which can include exercise test modes of
treadmill, cycle ergometer or step test. In an individual, VO2 max can be determined by the
cardiovascular system s ability to deliver oxygenated blood to working muscles and then the muscle s
ability to extract that oxygen from the blood and generate energy for work. Influencing factors can
include genetics, decline of VO2 max with aging, and finally aerobic training can positively influence
an individual s VO2 max and overall aerobic fitness. Individuals with high VO2 maxes often have
greater overall aerobic fitness, which includes high efficiency, or running economy, better glycogen
storage and is often an indicator of success when completing aerobic tasks of over 20 minutes. On the
contrary, a low VO2 max can predict poor overall aerobic fitness which can include cardiovascular
disease and problems with transporting oxygen to working muscles. (3) In these laboratory exercise
test, submaximal intensity exercises were used to determine an individual s predicted VO2 max which
allowed the assessment of their overall aerobic fitness and the ability to compare the correlations
between tests. Before performing any submaximal exercise test, the individual should be in the proper

Human Environment And Environment
How often do you think about how your actions affect the environment around you? Human
Environment Interaction is the impact the ecosystem has on human, how keeping the environment safe
is good for our essential well being, and how our values and and knowledge of the environment
affects us. Equally important, is how any type weather affects us on what we wear, what crops we
grow and how they grow, and what types of activities we partake in that day. In addition, how
different environments of places cause what people do in those places, how people act or are, how the
weather is compared to other places in the world. Although people may believe that cutting down trees
may not be harmful to them and nature, the correlation between human lifestyle and nature is
important to both sides since it creates oxygen that we breath, and we use important goods from the
environment to create homes and communities, it is also important since the weather helps us grow
crops and plants. Human Environment Interaction(HEI): The interactions between humans and the
environment that surrounds them. Anytime you walk out and smell flowers, or breathe the air that
trees create you are interacting with the environment. To truly understand HEI you must be informed
of the values and knowledge of it. For years, humans have torn down and have done whatever they
have wanted to the environment but now it has come back to hurt us. As humans must know when to
tear down certain environments in moderation instead of tearing down what we have, know when to
replant and regrow what we have torn down. When we do tear down the environments we impact the
ecosystem. As stated before, by doing this the environment is coming back and hurting us with the
rising temperatures and the phenomenon which is global warming. This is dangerous to do since the
environment is essential to our well being. Nature is good for us as, once again, it produces oxygen for
us to breathe, and materials to produce homes and products. On the other hand though, we do not just
affect the environment, the environment affects us most importantly, weather does. The weather is
another thing people overlook on a daily basis. You look outside the window and notice that it s sunny.

How Did George Jefferson Influence Pop Culture
George Jefferson is a late 90 s television icon, brought to life by Sherman Hemsley. A husband, father,
and entrepreneur; managing to be both the antagonist and protagonist of every show he has made an
appearance in. He made his stride in television and America by introducing a new portrayal of the
black man and the black family, in ways that did not require them to lose their black identity. Jefferson
s importance goes beyond the existence of his fictional depiction. He played a role in branding a social
mark on the real world and in Hollywood. In this paper, I will explain how George Jefferson made
himself a peculiar yet prominent influence in American pop culture by having substantial success off
screen, being a successful businessman on screen, and being controversial in the safe spaces of

He first made his appearance on the nine season long American sitcom, All in the Family, where him
and his family lived as neighbors and frenemies to the Bunker family. Jefferson s appearance on this
popular show boosted so highly that his brother, who filled George s position in the Bunkers
life, became somewhat of a nuisance to the audience once he returned. Jefferson s absence, due to his
own prejudices against the bigoted Archie Bunker, was completely forgotten when he stepped onto the
screen and captured the hearts and ratings of many across the country. This lead to his spin off show,
The Jeffersons, centered around George Jefferson, his wife, children, and witty tenants. It became a
massive 11 season hit; breaking records, setting trends, and becoming the second longest running,
black leading sitcom. Nearly one third of the country was tuning into the sitcom every week. George

Big Bad Wolf Persuasive Essay
Eating is a necessary commodity. Every living being has to eat in order to stay alive. In fact, you can
only survive about 3 weeks without eating. Many animals don t receive backlash for the food they eat
because, even us, human beings understand that it s necessary to obtain proteins. However, the Big,
Bad Wolf will always be unfairly criticized for eating pigs. Even though society views the wolf as
malicious, that is very far from the truth as proven in sources B, C, and H because the wolf deserves to
eat food as much as the pigs do. You re obliged to feed yourself as much as any person or animal is.
Food is such an essential item you could say that everyone deserves to eat. However, many tried to
verbally attack the wolf in his decision of eating the pigs. Nevertheless, you re right, nobody should
take accountability because wolves [decide to] eat cute animals (Source B). I m sure, If cheeseburgers
were cute, folks would probably think you were Big and Bad (Source B). When interpreted, the
comparison seems frugal, but in the larger picture it makes sense. Primarily because wolves, like ...

Death March Research Paper
The death marches were hideous forced marches made to move Holocaust prisoners from one camp to
another. Many of them met their end here, and in fact, thousands of prisoners died of exposure,
starvation, and exhaustion (ushmm.org 2017). On January 18, 1945, the first death march of the
Holocaust occurred. Thousands are killed in the days before the death march (ushmm.org 2017). The
prisoners forced on these dreadful walks were taken from Auschwitz, and almost 60,000 of them were
commanded to leave their barracks. They began marching to Gliwice, another concentration camp.
Over 15,000 innocent lives were wasted that day. The few lucky ones who were left alive were
liberated on January 27. There were three main purposes of death marches. The first was to eliminate
evidence by killing thousands of the prisoners, who could later account for the awful things done to
them if left alive. The second was that leaders ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The coldness of the snow ended up causing hypothermia to set in much quicker than normal, leading
many to die from just trying to take away the pain of hunger. They endured many other brutal
conditions while walking, such as having no shoes. Walking through snow in bare feet for hours
would quite clearly have some very negative side effects, as some started to break off their toes,
because frostbite had gotten that bad. Some tried to simply stop for only a couple seconds to pick up
stray food from the road, hoping to at least eat something besides snow. But they were shot by guards
the second they stopped. The SS guards had strict orders to kill prisoners who could no longer walk or
travel (ushmm.org 2017), and this also included if anyone ceased to walk, even if only for a second.
This arguably could ve been the worst thing about death

The Analysis On Ephesians Prefacing The Book The Bible ...
In the ESV study bible, the authors wrote an excerpt on Ephesians prefacing the author, title, date,
background information, and a description of the ancient city of Ephesus. Relating to the author of
Ephesians all scholars believed that Paul wrote the letter, until recent times where many scholars
propose that an imitator or a follower of Paul wrote the letter. The scholars give two reasons for this
theory, the first is the letter s style does not represent Pauline thought, and the second being the
authors unfamiliarity with the recipients. In contrast, some scholars say there is ample proof of Pauline
authorship; the first reason is the letter explicitly claims to be Paul s in Ephesians 1:1 and 3:1, and the
second reason subsists in more analysis of the text and that it is similar to other Pauline texts. The
final argument for Pauline authorship is the forcefulness of the author s speech mentioned in
Ephesians 4:15, and verse 25. In these two verses, the argument that the author is unfamiliar with the
audience stands debunked because the author commands of them and the author addresses the unity
they all possess. Secondly, an important historical component for understanding the context of
Ephesians is to know the date it is written and background information of why Paul wrote the letter.
Scholars suggest that Paul wrote Ephesians in 62 AD when he was under house arrest in Rome, this
conclusion comes from Paul mentioning his imprisonment in Ephesians 3:1, 4:1, and 6:20.

Connections Between The Legend Of Echo And Narcissus
An African proverb once said If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together. In
today s society, the need to belong, or to feel as though you have people to turn to is so basic yet so
critical to mental and physical health we may as well put it right up there with thirst and hunger. Just
as we drink to quench our thirst and eat to soothe a growling stomach, we can also starve from social
isolation. I believe that meaningful connections are relationships in which people bond on a whole
other level than just friendship, they connect the missing pieces in one another s lives. However, some
opinions may differ on this topic, for example Mark Bauerlein composes a novel about the
disadvantages of select connections as well ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

pull away, stretching your friendship further and further apart only until one day, it snaps. They
wanted him to know what it felt like to love and never be loved Echo is not just the female counterpart
of Narcissus, as it is not a series of opposed elements, the most important of which is that she loves
him and he did not. Echo is the equivalent of the reflection that captivates Narcissus eyes He cried in

Labor Camps In Ruta Sepetys s Between Shades Of Gray
I looked back to the hole. What if we were digging our own grave? (128). Lina, the main character of
the book, says when forced to dig a hole with three other women. This is just one example of what
Lina, her family, and millions of others have to endure while at labor camps. Ruta Sepetys novel,
Between Shades of Gray shares the story of one family who was arrested and brought to a labor camp.
Lina and Jonas were arrested, along with their mother by the Narodnyi Komissariat Vnutrennikh Del
(NKVD). They were separated from their father, taken to the Altai Labor Camp, and forced to work
for little food and water. Throughout the story, Ruta Sepetys shows just how much a person can
change and learn in one year. In the novel, Lina starts out as a naive girl but becomes a resourceful
and intelligent young lady.
Lina has lots of opinions however she is naive because she does not realize that she should not draw or

should keep her opinions to herself. Later in the story

Acute Respiratory Acidosis And Chronic Respirtory Acidosis
Respiratory Acidosis, or respiratory failure, makes the blood pH and other fluids in the body decrease,
which makes them acidic. Respiratory acidosis can occur when the lungs cannot remove the right
amount of carbon dioxide from the body. Too much CO2 can make the blood too acidic. This is from
the body needing to balance the ions that help control pH. Normally, lungs take in oxygen and remove
by exhaling, CO2. Oxygen passes from the lungs into the blood, and CO2 passes from the blood into
the lungs. However, if the lungs can not remove the right amount of CO2, respiratory acidosis can
occur. There are two kinds of Respiratory acidosis: Acute respiratory acidosis and chronic respirtory
acidosis. Acute acidosis happens quickly and is an emergency. Chronic acidosis usually develops over
a period of time. The normal range of pH is supposed to be 7.4 and PaCO2 at 40 mmHg. Acidosis
happens when the pH drops below 7.35 and a primary respiratory problem is determined if the PaCO2
is greater than 45 mmHg. Some of the following are causes for chronic respiratory acidosis: COPD,
asthma, neuromuscular diseases, and obesity that is very severe. Acute respiratory acidosis is usually
caused by obstructed air ways, such as choking, over dose of sedatives, or cardiac arrest. The
compensatory mechanism for acute respiratory acidosis is intracellular buffering (hemoglobin,
intracellular proteins). Cell buffering will occur within minutes after the onset of acute respiratory

After some initial research I found out that this produce has 5000 mg of Creatine Monohydrate. This
supplement is great for helping muscles grow. It also helps you recover more quickly and you build

Authority Control
Authority control is a method of controlling and limiting where the object in the catalogue gets
shelved under, and what terminology can be used to search for said objects. There are two types of
authority control for this database and those are name and subject.
Now, name authority control is generally used for large collections, to narrow a search or when there
are too many subject terms to search by. To use name authority, it identifies the object in the collection
by its title, publisher or even the author(s). Name authority allows them to be able to locate objects
with ease, so that they can spend more time on other things. For example, if there is more than one
object with similar titles or authors.
To use subject authority control for paranormal romance is about using terms such as magicks or
mythology to represent where the objects should be shelved or grouped under. The authority control
allows the objects to be found with ease in different sections for them to locate which subgenre or
subject within paranormal romance that is desired. For example, under the authority control (subject)
the term mythology one would find Demons which can be found in numerous cultures, or Valkyrie
that come from Norse mythology. It is a broad search, with many results because objects can contain

A Mass Of Thousands Of People Walk Into The Capital City...
A mass of thousands of people walk into the capital city of Budapest. It is October 23, 1956, a day that
would forever be remembered by Hungarians as the day the Revolution began. This protest quickly
turned into a major rebellion against the Soviets and their policies. Although the Revolution ended in
failure, however, it left a mark on the Soviets, who would eventually lose control nearing the end of
the Cold War. Then, over 30 years after the Revolution, on October 23, 1989, Hungary was declared
as the Third Hungarian Republic. In Hungary today, October 23 is celebrated nationally as Republic
Day, to celebrate the two events that made Hungary what it is today. On October 23 in Hungary today,
there are many events to celebrate Republic Day. The raising of the flag in Kossuth Square initiates
the celebrations nationwide. A memorial ceremony is held with speeches regarding the events
celebrated. Most museums have free admission to see Hungary s history. The Parliament building is
open to the public, and the Grand Staircase, Cupola Hall, and Holy Crown are able to be seen inside.
These activities are held within Hungary, as it is their national holiday. Before standing as an
independent nation, Hungary was a dual monarchy with Austria. Austria Hungary was the empire that
declared war on Serbia, and the conflict soon grew into World War 1. During the war, the empire had
broken down into something very small. In 1920, the Treaty of Trianon officially declared Hungary s

Why are personal experiences influence to a person s thoughts and how does it impact on his or her
future jobs both directly and indirectly? Lingiardi, Tanzilli and Colli (2015) mentioned that an advisor
s enthusiastic reaction to a patient can be seen as a wellspring of profitable symptomatic and helpful

patients would further absorb it or abstain from the therapy. In addition, it is important to find out

it is important to develop a professional philosophy statement which would reflect my roles and

Descriptive Essay On Hippie Fishing
Crappie fishing; to most, bring visions of cool spring mornings with fog lingering over the surface of
the lake and burning off shortly after rigging a bobber and a minnow to cast to a brush pile and wait
for the Crappie to find your bait. Classic Crappie fishing to be sure and very effective to say the least,
as many of you, like myself, grew up fishing this way almost exclusively. Crappie angling has
changed and progressed into a very technical endeavor and crankbaits is one of those techniques that
works great when crappie begin the fall migration to shallow water following the shad. When the
leaves begin to turn each season, shad begin swimming the shorelines in large schools providing slab
crappie some opportunities to fatten up for the winter. It is during this time that small crankbaits
resembling these shad work great at luring those slabs from shallow cover. Rip rap and chunk rock
banks attract shad as well as big crappie chasing those shad. A single tree along that rock bank can
create an ambush point for big crappie and will replenish so returning to that cover throughout the day
can prove rewarding. My favorite crankbait is any that resembles a shad. Smaller crankbaits seem to
work best but I have switched to a larger crankbait with good results when the shad is big; however,
small crankbaits is your best choice for consistent bites. Color always comes up in conversations
pertaining to crappie. Personally, I use shad colors, but crawfish patterns and bright

Female Supers Essay
There is no secret that the demand for female #superheroes is on the rise. From #WonderWoman s
success at the box office (We love you, #PattyJenkins!) to the upcoming #Batgirl, fans are coming out
in force.
Even before WonderWoman, #YoungJustice helped to launch female supers into a male dominated
world.
Young Justice evenly uses its male and female characters. Within the first season of the show, there are
only two main female heroes. During Season 2, additional female characters were added.
Let s take a good, long look at the female characters in Young Justice that kicked butt.

The Perception Of Human Communication
Prejudice, Stereotype, and how they affect listening
Often humans form opinions about one another that may hinder them from listening to a particular
group or person effectively. Two ways listening can be impaired is by stereotypes and prejudices
formed before a certain person even expresses themselves nonverbally or verbally. According to the
book Fundamentals of Human Communication the word stereotype is defined as: Rigid and usually
negative assumptions about personal and social qualities of people who are members of a particular
social category. (G 10) Another scholarly source confirms this definition by stating that a stereotype is
a fixed or over generalized belief about a particular group or class of people. (Cardwell, 1996) Over
the years people describe types of communication as stereotypical because it allows a communicator
to judge the outcome of a conversation before it even occurs. Stereotypes can sometimes be viewed as
advantageous in certain situations because it allows a communicator to judge an outcome of a
situation based on past situations. For example, if a mother has talked to a doctor previously about
how to treat a cold and his advice worked well, chances are she will stereotype what will take place
the next time she has a cold and consults a doctor before it even happened. On the other hand, in this
case stereotyping can be bad when you assume what the other communicator is going to say or do,
prejudging the outcome, and you are wrong.

Abstract: In this paper a hybrid technique is used for determining the face from an image. Face
detection is one of the tedious job to achieve with very high accuracy. In this paper we proposed a
method that combines two techniques that is Orthogonal Laplacianface (OLPP) and Particle Swarm
Optimization (PSO). The formula for the OLPP relies on the Locality Preserving Projection (LPP)
formula, which aims at finding a linear approximation to the Eigen functions of the astronomer
Beltrami operator on the face manifold. However, LPP is non orthogonal and this makes it difficult to
reconstruct the information. When the set of features is found by the OLPP, with the help of the PSO,
the grouping of the image features is done and the one with the best match from the database is given
as the result. This hybrid technique gives a higher accuracy in less processing time.

Recently, appearance based face recognition has received tons of attention. In general, a face image of
size n1 × n2 is delineating as a vector within the image house Rn1 × n2. We have a tendency to denote

Theme Of Sita In The Thousand Faces Of Night
Sita, Devi s mother, in fact fitted the ideal description of womanhood. Sita, as her name signified was
symbolic of an ideal wife, mother and daughter in law. She saw her femininity as an illusion and so
she seized it firmly by its roots and pulled it out of her soul till the enticing stems of the seven noted

veena she was giving up Saraswathi, to take on another goddess, the most ferocious of all, Kali. She
meticulously planned the lives of her husband, her daughter and herself with clinical efficiency. She
led her husband from promotion to promotion as he moved up the corporate ladder. When Devi was
born she found a new Veena to play on. She planned Devi s education and sent her to America. She

E.E. Cummings
Since the beginnings of the literature love has been one of the most important themes for the writers
and accordingly for the readers. Not only did the poets impose themselves the immensely difficult task
to describe the notion of love, but they also left the readers with the enjoyable but not easy thing that
is the deciphering the meaning of their descriptions. It is how the American poet, prosaic and
dramatist, Edward Estlin Cummings, behaved by giving people the interesting image of love in the
poem starting with the words: #8220;love is more thicker than forget #8230; #8221;. In this essay I
will endeavour to analyse and interpret his vision of love. At the beginning I would like to focus on
the structure of this poem. It includes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From this one may draw the conclusion, that love consists of all those things together, but as they
acquired wider meanings by adding adjectives, love is something that can not be recognized by our
senses. Because can we see, smell, touch, hear or taste something that is #8220;more seldom than a
wave is wet #8221;, or #8220;less always than to win #8221;? Or is it possible to explore #8220;the
sea which only is deeper than the sea #8221; or #8220;the sky which only is higher than the sky
#8221;? The answer is simple: no. People are only able to imagine those abstract phenomena, to feel
and understand them in mind. The same is with love #8211; it can not be smelled, touched, seen, etc.
in the literary meaning #8211; it transcends the real world and can only be described in ourselves,
using abstract notions. And by having no punctuation marks one may read this poem quicker, without
stops for comas, full stops. It may indicate the fact that love is the emotion inclusive all those
phenomena in the same time, that they are not in contrastive opposition #8211; where one occurs the
other can be found there as well. Furthermore, it may be said that while being in love one notice and
realizes the new meaning of the world, the meaning than is more than the one understood by someone
who has never loved.

Cause And Effect Of Chacxulub Impact
Chicxulub Impact
By Talullah Lennon
The Cause:
An Asteroid is formed in the inner solar system in a particular part called the Asteroid Belt, when
small particles of rock and metal collide with each other, and slowly build up over time. Planets are
formed the same way as asteroids, but what stops asteroids from growing and becoming a planet is
due to the gravitationally pull of Jupiter. The asteroid belt lies between Jupiter and mars. Because of
Jupiter s gravitationally pull the asteroid goes at a highly increased speed causing it to crash into other
asteroids in the belt, the result of this is either the asteroids bounce off one another or they break off
and don t stick together. The asteroid belt contains billions of asteroids in all different sixes. Majority

What Is The Critique Of The Marvel Movie Doctor Strange
Critique
Imagine, that the world you ve lived in, and known for your entire life was; in fact, a completely
different world that you knew nothing about at all. A world that consisted of multiple dimensions and
sorcerers protecting our world from evils that subsist in other realms. In this exact moment, you could
be standing in the middle of a battle happening in a mirror image and not even know it. After viewing
Marvel Film Doctor Strange, the graphics will have you questioning if all these things could actually
be nonfictional; indeed, you may even find yourself wondering if you too might have the power of
mind to enter the Astral Plane. Although the graphics of this film are incredible there are still some
faults in this movie pertaining to onscreen relationship connections between certain characters, and the
underdevelopment of some characters.
Leading role Dr. Strange played by Benedict Cumberbatch was executed perfectly throughout the
movie. His character did a full three hundred and sixty degrees turn around during the movie and the
buildup during this turn around was very clear, leaving no room for confusion. His character
development had some very key moments to keep the audience fully engaged in his healing process.
To set the mood for Dr. Strange, they had a moment where Strange had just finished brain surgery and
was confronted by Dr. Palmer (Rachel McAdams) for a second opinion about a case that she had,
where he, within minutes had resolved and knew how to save

Metamoratives In Life Of Pi By Yann Martel
In the novel Life of Pi (2001) written by Yann Martel the story is about a young man by the name of
Piscine Molitor Patel whose whole life changes in a blink of an eye and finds himself suddenly stuck
with a Bengal tiger by the name of Richard Parker after he faces a shipwreck and loses his family.
Yann brings the book to life when he puts imagination into it. In the first section of the novel, the book
covers Pi s childhood and how he majors in religious studies and zoology. In the second section of the
novel, Pi s transition into a man and how he brings out the animal in him is what basically gets him
and Richard Parker to survive for so long and not die. Pi does risky things in this section for example
when he chooses to train Richard Parker rather than to kill him and kills baby sharks as well to eat
them later on. Richard Parker becomes very important for Pi because Pi did not want to be left alone
on the raft. In part three of the novel, two Japanese investigators visit Pi while he is in the hospital and
Pi chooses to give his own story which gets the men kind of upset because they feel like he invents it
up but he chooses to give them that story for a reason and the men did not seem to get why.
Zoomorphism is one of the main metanarratives that stands out throughout the novel. In Part One of
the novel, the author constantly foreshadows events for the readers. The character Pi states that an
event that happened in his life that shapes who he became. Pi reflects on

Tilak was charged with incitement to murder and sentenced to 18 months imprisonment. When he

The matrix sets were designed to have a worn and torn look that was imposing and grid like. The
scenes depicting the characters in the real world mostly took place on the ship, Nebuchadnezzar.
These sets were designed to have a patched up look where the wires and components of the ship were
clearly visible, communicating the idea to the audience that the ship is a marriage between man and
machine. In addition to how the sets looked, how the scenes were shot within those sets added to
theme as well. When the characters were within the matrix, the scenes were shot using a green tint,
mimicking the feel of early monochrome computer monitors. When the characters were in the real
world, they used a blue tint and longer shot lenses which soften the background while putting more
emphasis on the characters.
As I also mentioned earlier, the actual appearance of the characters in the film is another component in
the theme of appearance verses reality. When the main characters are in the real world, they are shown
with having a connection port on the back of their necks. This connection port is the means by which
the characters can reconnect to the matrix. The characters were also depicted in the real world as
wearing clothes with a more textile feel, and hair that is less stylized. When compared to how these

Examples Of Id, Ego, And Superego In Mary Shelley s...
According to modern psychologists, Sigmund Freud is considered the father of modern psychology;
Freud s idea of the three zones of the psychic apparatus play a heavy influence in Mary Shelley s
Frankenstein. The three zones are Id, Ego, and Superego. The Id is natural instincts, Ego is the
influence of the Id caused by society, and the Superego is acting based off of adopted morals taught to
you. The Monster s personality traits in Frankenstein are examples of Freud s idea of Id, Ego, and
Superego. Throughout the novel, each trait is developed with the Id being first ; and alternating back
and forth between all of them on which one becomes the dominant trait.
When the Monster is first created, he acts on natural instincts to keep himself alive. The Monster must
figure out life on his own because he does not have a parental figure to teach him right from wrong.
The Id instincts take over the Monster s actions I ate some berries...I slaked my thirst at the brook

of survival. The Monster has no idea that some of his actions are believed to be immoral by society
because his libidinous id is telling him what to do to survive such as to steal a part of their store in my

Columbine Analysis
The Truth About Columbine Dave Cullen s purpose in writing Columbine is to expose the truth about
the killers. Dave Cullen exposes Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris the Columbine shooters; everything
from their extensive planning, their motives, and the harrowing results of the massacre are revealed
throughout Columbine.
The writing technique used throughout Columbine exemplify the different treatment of the killers.
Eric being a psychopath that felt no remorse, and Dylan being humanized as a person who is lost in
his own sadness. Cullen treats the boys differently by using techniques such as plot order; using a
rearranged common plot order makes Dylan seem like a more relatable person, and more deserving of
forgiveness. Cullen uses a reassembled common plot order by starting the book with a scene that
happened a week before the shooting. But instead of following the normal path, Cullen then uses
background information which includes the feelings of the killers. He then changes to a scene from the
past again to further progress to the climax of the book. Cullen uses this technique to create bonds
between the reader and the characters; in the process of doing this he makes leeway for Dylan s softer
side to be shown. It is important that he does this so that he can fully expose the innermost thoughts of
the killers. Throughout the book there are many accounts of the journals written by each of the boys.
However, Dylan s writings are where people tried to find truth. The

First They Killed My Father Summary
Narratives are essential to formulate a picture and set the backdrop of events that occur around the
world. These narratives can lead to an abundance of events, but more likely than not narratives can
lead to violence. Through my interpretation of First They Killed My Father, I will set the stage for the
events that transpired in Cambodia. By presenting the history of Cambodia, I will be able to explain
how people have been able to cope with the atrocities that their countries committed against them and
their families while connecting it to the Jim Crow era in the US, demonstrating how we too,

In general, this experiment was able to accomplish and establish the rates at which persulfate ions are
able to oxidize iodine ions. The reaction between thiosulfate and iodine is known to be rapid, unless
there is a sufficient amount of thiosulfate present for the iodine to react with. When thiosulfate is

by 2, which was concluded to be 9.1x10 4 mol/L. Using the ΔS2O8 2 and the time it took for the
reaction to complete, the rate was determined.
For trial 1, the rate of reaction was 1.61x10 5 mol L 1 s 1, k was 0.167 mol2 L2 s 1 and the ionic
strength was 0.2362 mol L 1 s 1. For this reaction no electrolytes were added to speed up the reaction.
The reaction run for 1 can be considered as the model reaction for this experiment, since other
substances were not added in. For trial 2, the rate was 7.95x10 6 mol L 1 s 1, k was 0.331 mol2 L2 s 1,
and the ionic strength was 0.1327 mol L 1 s 1. In this trial, the concentration of [S2O8 2] was reduced,
while (NH4)2SO4 was added. The electrolytes from (NH4)2SO4 were able to diffuse, and replenish
the reaction s ionic strength. Thus, the k value was higher and the reaction was quick. For the third
trial, the rate of reaction was 1.83x10 6 mol L 1 s 1, k was 0.305 mol2 L2 s 1, and the ionic strength
was 0.1055 mol L 1 s 1. The concentration of S2O8 2 is ¼ of trial 1, thus the rate of the reaction also
decreased, and the overall reaction took longer to finish. For the fourth

Think About Your Nursing Environment Analysis
Think about your nursing environment. Give an example of how written communication is important
where you work. How can you apply good writing skills to make improvements on your unit? Can
you see yourself furthering your career by publishing in a journal or doing a literature review in your
area of nursing? Find at least one scholarly source to support your example.
One extremely important and potentially lifesaving piece of written communication that we utilized in
my department is a difficult intubation letter. This letter is made a permanent part of the patient s chart
a copy is hand delivered to the patient s family after surgery by the Post Anesthesia Care Unit Staff
(PACU) and one is forwarded to the patient s primary care physician.

The Causes And Impacts Of British Petroleum
On April 20, 2010, British Petroleum s (BP) offshore drilling rig, the Deepwater Horizon, exploded
and caused the largest accidental marine oil spill in history, discharging five million barrels of oil into
the ocean over a period of three months. During this accident, eleven men working on the oil rig
perished and seventeen others were injured severely. This crisis caused major destruction to marine
wildlife caused economic harm on fishing and tourism industries and was a public relations nightmare
for British Petroleum (Crandall, Parnell Spillan, 2013). This event was horrendous; I remember the
devastation that was left in the wake of this tragedy.
Beginning in the 1980 s, offshore oil production showed to be a solution for the United States energy
issues and national security. In the beginning, the wells were in shallow water, but once these wells
were dry, drilling in the deeper water began. Although there were drawbacks, such as the difficulty to
drill and operate a well at such tremendous depths and because of these depths robots would have to
troubleshoot maintenance problems instead of humans. Additionally, in deep waters, special drilling
rigs are needed. There are two types of drilling rigs, the drillship, and the semi submersible. The
Deepwater Horizon was a semi submersible rig that was used to excavate the well on the Macondo
slope in the Gulf of Mexico. Once the excavation was done, another rig would arrive to extract the oil.

Mandatory Access Control
In computer security, Discretionary Access Control (DAC) is a type of access control in which a user
has complete control over all the programs it owns and executes, and also determines the permissions
other users have those those files and programs. Because DAC requires permissions to be assigned to
those who need access, DAC is commonly called described as a need to know access model.
In computer security, discretionary access control (DAC) is a type of access control defined by the
Trusted Computer System Evaluation Criteria[1] as a means of restricting access to objects based on
the identity of subjects and/or groups to which they belong. The controls are discretionary in the sense
that a subject with a certain access permission ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Early hardware based enforcement implementations of MAC such as Honeywell s SCOMP, USAF
SACDIN, NSA Blacker, and Boeing s MLS LAN focused on MLS to protect military oriented
security classification levels with robust enforcement. Originally, the term MAC denoted that the
access controls were not only guaranteed in principle, but in fact. Early security strategies[2] enabled
enforcement guarantees that were dependable in the face of national lab level attacks.
More recently, with the departure from strict hardware based enforcement the expectations of the term
mandatory has become more relaxed, migrating from mandating near absolute enforcement to
acceptance of best effort enforcement. While software based enforcement is more flexible, the security
technology has not yet produced a software based enforcement strategy that can enforce a policy with
near certainty. This is because it has been much more difficult to be certain about what a software
based system will never do compared to that of hardware based system. With software oriented
implementations such as SELinux (incorporated into

Essay On Girish Karnad
Godugunuri Prasad
The Man and The Writer
Girish Karnad is one of the foremost playwrights of the contemporary Indian stage. He has given the
Indian theatre a richness that could probably be equated only with his talents as an actor director. His
contribution goes beyond theatre: he has directed feature films, documentaries and television serials in
Kannada, Hindi, and English and has played leading roles as an actor in Hindi and Kannada art films,
commercial movies and television serials. He has represented Indian in foreign lands as an emissary of
art and culture.
Karnad was born at Matheran ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He also acted the lead roles in Oedipus Rex and Jokumaraswamy, directed in Kannada by B.V.
Karanth, for the open air festival in Bangalore in 1972. Karnad has also published a number of
articles, the most significant being In search of a New Theatre in Contemporary Indian Tradition, ed.
Carla Borden (Washington; Smithsonian Press, 1988) and Theatre in India, in Daedalus, Vo1.118,
No.4, pp.331 52.(7) While as Karnad is a multi faceted personality, it is essentially as a playwright that
he is at his best. He confesses, I have been fairly lucky in having a multi pronged career. You know, I
have been an actor, a publisher, and a film maker. But in none of these fields have I felt quite as much
at home as in playwriting. In India, unfortunately, the writers cannot live on their writing alone; it does
not yield enough royalties for sustenance. Karnad says, One can t earn a comfortable living even from
a successful play. Take Tughlaq,. As we know, it s been enormously successful ¬critically as well as in
performance. Playwrights in the west have been able to retire on such successes or at least, to devote
themselves to that activity entirely. I can t. Today Girish Karnad considered one of the most significant
Indian dramatists. He has enriched the Indian literary scene by his contribution to art, culture, theatre
and drama. It is most befitting that Karnad has been conferred by the President of India, the
prestigious awards, Padmasri in 1974 and Padmabhushan in 1992. Also, he received the Gubbi
Veeranna Award from the Government of Karnataka in 1997. Karnad is based in Bangalore and lives

Harriet Jacobs The Last Days Of Slavery
Do you really know what happened to African Americans back then? In the text it states,¨Say that long
ago in Africa, some of the people knew magic.¨This attention grabber utilizes fantasy like terms but
uses them with real world terms. The stories Harriet Jacobs , The People Could Fly ,and The Last
Days Of Slavery throw light on the American slave system through the personal accounts they
endured and how those experiences formed their position on slavery.
The story Harriet Jacobs brings to the aspect of slavery. In the text it states, Harriet hid in homes of
friends initially and eventually came to hide in an attic crawl space over the store room. This piece of
evidence is significant because she spent years in a tiny attic and never got

Ludwig Wittgenstein s Word Games
Introduction:
It is a common tendency for philosophers to invent their own vernacular, usually giving new
connotations and definitions to terms we find ordinary. An instance of this is Heidegger s Dasein . He
takes two very common German words: Da , meaning there and sein , meaning to be , but Dasein has
the heavy connotation of not only physically existing there, but being present in a multitude of ways
(Heidegger, 1927). Another example is from Foucault expanding the word government not simply in
the common notion of managing a country, but further to the ability to govern one s self or one s
family through discipline or common ground (Foucault, 1979)
Denoting particular connotations onto existing words enables philosophers to give voice to meanings
that would be trying or even impossible to say, but the redefining of words can also bring confusion to
the reader. As Lois Shawver points out in his article Postmodernizing the Unconscious, if one, as the
reader, gives into the assumption that the language is used in the usual way, then the philosopher s
words will appear to be outlandish and enigmatic (Shawver, 1998).
This begs the question: how does the reader then know if the writer is using an ordinary term or their
newly defined meaning of that same term? In order to make this distinction and to understand of the
redefined and coined terms, one must read with an intentional awareness of the terms. Wittgenstein
understands this difficulty and aids his readers

The Use Of Diction In Oedipus The King
King uses controlling diction and animalizes Jack to illustrate his anxiety in dealing with the
resurgence of the wasps, further characterizing Jack as an unstable man who threatens his family s
wellbeing through his lack of stereotypical masculinity. King animalizes Jack by constantly comparing
his behavior with that of a tiger, a stereotypically savage wild animal, indifferent to the emotions of
the persons surrounding them. Through Jack s response to the rediscovery of wasps in Danny s room,
King reinforces Jack s animalistic state of mind, as illustrated in his explosive reaction, Shut the fuck
up and kill them! he roared (King 133). By having Jack roar out in retaliation to the wasps, King
draws a parallel between the behavior of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As opposed to a relaxed, more manly reaction to his son being swarmed by wasps, Jack immediately
panics in the face of danger and fails to keep his outer shell of masculinity on in such a high stress
period of time. He screams out commands at his wife, Kill them! ... Will you do what I say! (King
133), and fails to deal with the problem himself, as he quickly abandons Wendy and Danny inside the
bedroom, leaving Wendy to settle the wasp situation on her own. By implementing this commanding
diction, King fully strips Jack of his masculinity, and reveals his true character as a deranged danger to
the welfare of his family. In addition to illustrating Jack s severe lack of stereotypically manly traits,
controlling diction is also used by King to expose a authority seeking facet of Jack s personality that is
ultimately broken down by the reappearance of the wasps. As displayed through Jack ordering his
wife, Jack is throwing together a last ditch effort to maintain control over his family, as a real man
would. Instead of holding a level of authority over his family through ordering phrases such as get a

The selection of the layers is an open process, though only meaningful layers produce meaningful results. Basso et al. (2000) in their study used an integrated, multi level, approach to study the different environmental degradation stages and the existing interactions amongst the individual components of the landscape of the Agri basin in the Basilicata Region in Southern Italy. They considered an Environmental Sensitive Area as a specific and delimited entity in which environmental and socio economical factors are not balanced or are not sustainable for that particular environment. MEditerranean Desertification And Land USe (MEDALUS) project is one of the largest project of the European Comission established to analyse the global and regional climate changes. The MEDALUS model (Kosmas et al.1999) identifies regions that are environmentally sensitive area (ESAs). In this model, different types of ESAs to desertification can be analysed in terms of various parameters such as landforms, soil, geology, vegetation, climate, and human actions. Each of these parameters is grouped into various uniform classes and a weighting factor is assigned to each class. Then four layers are evaluated: soil quality, climate quality, vegetation quality, and management quality. As outlined by Kosmas et al. (1999) and Brandt et al. (2003), the method should be reasonably simple, robust and widely applicable; the selection of parameters to assess environmental quality must be made attending to their availability, economy and ability to update and the system should be adaptable to the development and refinement of the existing information content and the possible addition of new information. The principal innovation which was brought in to the study by Kirkby et al. (1998) in their study of MEDALUS was long term interactions with the vegetation and soil, with implications for the way in which the surface flow and infiltration are described and distributed area wise. The model contains four inter related sub models for the atmosphere, vegetation, soil and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors The Mechanism of Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors Though there are multiple treatment domains within cancer immunotherapy, a major source of excitement has been the discovery and the proven efficacy of immune checkpoint inhibitors Ipilimumab, Nivolumab, Pembrolizumab. These drugs operate on the basis that our own immune cells can recognize and eliminate self cells (and malignant cells), but are usually inhibited from doing so by specific receptors and ligand complexes. These mechanisms normally serve to maintain self tolerance and limit collateral tissue damage during immune responses, but are exploited by cancers to evade immune effector cells.[2] Essentially, immune checkpoints occur during the 1) priming/activation and 2) effector phases ... In an era of drastic social reform, many black women believed that their needs were not being properly addressed. Black Feminism played a significant role in American History by highlighting the flaws in the various liberation movements that arose. In doing so, it gave rise to many Black Feminist Organizations which in turn fostered a sense of accomplishment and effectiveness in the Black Female Community. In 1973, the Black Feminist Movement was officially established with the founding of the National Black Feminist Organization (NBFO) in New York. • 7. Maximal Oxygen Consumption And The Oxygen Maximal oxygen consumption or VO2 max refers to the single maximum oxygen consumption that an individual can utilize during graded intensity exercise. VO2 max can be assessed through properly administered submaximal oxygen consumption test which can include exercise test modes of treadmill, cycle ergometer or step test. In an individual, VO2 max can be determined by the cardiovascular system s ability to deliver oxygenated blood to working muscles and then the muscle s ability to extract that oxygen from the blood and generate energy for work. Influencing factors can include genetics, decline of VO2 max with aging, and finally aerobic training can positively influence an individual s VO2 max and overall aerobic fitness. Individuals with high VO2 maxes often have greater overall aerobic fitness, which includes high efficiency, or running economy, better glycogen storage and is often an indicator of success when completing aerobic tasks of over 20 minutes. On the contrary, a low VO2 max can predict poor overall aerobic fitness which can include cardiovascular disease and problems with transporting oxygen to working muscles. (3) In these laboratory exercise test, submaximal intensity exercises were used to determine an individual s predicted VO2 max which allowed the assessment of their overall aerobic fitness and the ability to compare the correlations between tests. • 8. Human Environment And Environment How often do you think about how your actions affect the environment around you? Human Environment Interaction is the impact the ecosystem has on human, how keeping the environment safe is good for our essential well being, and how our values and and knowledge of the environment affects us. Equally important, is how any type weather affects us on what we wear, what crops we grow and how they grow, and what types of activities we partake in that day. In addition, how different environments of places cause what people do in those places, how people act or are, how the weather is compared to other places in the world. Although people may believe that cutting down trees may not be harmful to them and nature, the correlation between human lifestyle and nature is important to both sides since it creates oxygen that we breath, and we use important goods from the environment to create homes and communities, it is also important since the weather helps us grow crops and plants. Human Environment Interaction(HEI): The interactions between humans and the environment that surrounds them. Anytime you walk out and smell flowers, or breathe the air that trees create you are interacting with the environment. To truly understand HEI you must be informed of the values and knowledge of it. For years, humans have torn down and have done whatever they have wanted to the environment but now it has come back to hurt us. As humans must know when to tear down certain environments in moderation instead of tearing down what we have, know when to replant and regrow what we have torn down. When we do tear down the environments we impact the ecosystem. As stated before, by doing this the environment is coming back and hurting us with the rising temperatures and the phenomenon which is global warming. This is dangerous to do since the environment is essential to our well being. Nature is good for us as, once again, it produces oxygen for us to breathe, and materials to produce homes and products. On the other hand though, we do not just affect the environment, the environment affects us most importantly, weather does. The weather is another thing people overlook on a daily basis. Many animals don t receive backlash for the food they eat because, even us, human beings understand that it s necessary to obtain proteins. However, the Big, Bad Wolf will always be unfairly criticized for eating pigs. Even though society views the wolf as malicious, that is very far from the truth as proven in sources B, C, and H because the wolf deserves to eat food as much as the pigs do. You re obliged to feed yourself as much as any person or animal is. Food is such an essential item you could say that everyone deserves to eat. However, many tried to verbally attack the wolf in his decision of eating the pigs. Nevertheless, you re right, nobody should take accountability because wolves [decide to] eat cute animals (Source B). Many of them met their end here, and in fact, thousands of prisoners died of exposure, starvation, and exhaustion (ushmm.org 2017). On January 18, 1945, the first death march of the Holocaust occurred. Thousands are killed in the days before the death march (ushmm.org 2017). The prisoners forced on these dreadful walks were taken from Auschwitz, and almost 60,000 of them were commanded to leave their barracks. They began marching to Gliwice, another concentration camp. Over 15,000 innocent lives were wasted that day. The few lucky ones who were left alive were liberated on January 27. There were three main purposes of death marches. The first was to eliminate evidence by killing thousands of the prisoners, who could later account for the awful things done to them if left alive. The second was that leaders ... • 13. The Analysis On Ephesians Prefacing The Book The Bible ... In the ESV study bible, the authors wrote an excerpt on Ephesians prefacing the author, title, date, background information, and a description of the ancient city of Ephesus. Relating to the author of Ephesians all scholars believed that Paul wrote the letter, until recent times where many scholars propose that an imitator or a follower of Paul wrote the letter. The scholars give two reasons for this theory, the first is the letter s style does not represent Pauline thought, and the second being the authors unfamiliarity with the recipients. In contrast, some scholars say there is ample proof of Pauline authorship; the first reason is the letter explicitly claims to be Paul s in Ephesians 1:1 and 3:1, and the second reason subsists in more analysis of the text and that it is similar to other Pauline texts. The final argument for Pauline authorship is the forcefulness of the author s speech mentioned in Ephesians 4:15, and verse 25. In these two verses, the argument that the author is unfamiliar with the audience stands debunked because the author commands of them and the author addresses the unity they all possess. Secondly, an important historical component for understanding the context of Ephesians is to know the date it is written and background information of why Paul wrote the letter. Scholars suggest that Paul wrote Ephesians in 62 AD when he was under house arrest in Rome, this conclusion comes from Paul mentioning his imprisonment in Ephesians 3:1, 4:1, and 6:20. ... • 16. Acute Respiratory Acidosis And Chronic Respirtory Acidosis Respiratory Acidosis, or respiratory failure, makes the blood pH and other fluids in the body decrease, which makes them acidic. Respiratory acidosis can occur when the lungs cannot remove the right amount of carbon dioxide from the body. Too much CO2 can make the blood too acidic. This is from the body needing to balance the ions that help control pH. Normally, lungs take in oxygen and remove by exhaling, CO2. Oxygen passes from the lungs into the blood, and CO2 passes from the blood into the lungs. However, if the lungs can not remove the right amount of CO2, respiratory acidosis can occur. There are two kinds of Respiratory acidosis: Acute respiratory acidosis and chronic respirtory acidosis. Acute acidosis happens quickly and is an emergency. Chronic acidosis usually develops over a period of time. The normal range of pH is supposed to be 7.4 and PaCO2 at 40 mmHg. Acidosis happens when the pH drops below 7.35 and a primary respiratory problem is determined if the PaCO2 is greater than 45 mmHg. Some of the following are causes for chronic respiratory acidosis: COPD, asthma, neuromuscular diseases, and obesity that is very severe. Acute respiratory acidosis is usually caused by obstructed air ways, such as choking, over dose of sedatives, or cardiac arrest. The compensatory mechanism for acute respiratory acidosis is intracellular buffering (hemoglobin, intracellular proteins). • 18. Authority Control Authority control is a method of controlling and limiting where the object in the catalogue gets shelved under, and what terminology can be used to search for said objects. There are two types of authority control for this database and those are name and subject. Now, name authority control is generally used for large collections, to narrow a search or when there are too many subject terms to search by. To use name authority, it identifies the object in the collection by its title, publisher or even the author(s). Name authority allows them to be able to locate objects with ease, so that they can spend more time on other things. For example, if there is more than one object with similar titles or authors. To use subject authority control for paranormal romance is about using terms such as magicks or mythology to represent where the objects should be shelved or grouped under. Descriptive Essay On Hippie Fishing Crappie fishing; to most, bring visions of cool spring mornings with fog lingering over the surface of the lake and burning off shortly after rigging a bobber and a minnow to cast to a brush pile and wait for the Crappie to find your bait. Classic Crappie fishing to be sure and very effective to say the least, as many of you, like myself, grew up fishing this way almost exclusively. Crappie angling has changed and progressed into a very technical endeavor and crankbaits is one of those techniques that works great when crappie begin the fall migration to shallow water following the shad. When the leaves begin to turn each season, shad begin swimming the shorelines in large schools providing slab crappie some opportunities to fatten up for the winter. It is during this time that small crankbaits resembling these shad work great at luring those slabs from shallow cover. Rip rap and chunk rock banks attract shad as well as big crappie chasing those shad. A single tree along that rock bank can create an ambush point for big crappie and will replenish so returning to that cover throughout the day can prove rewarding. My favorite crankbait is any that resembles a shad. Smaller crankbaits seem to work best but I have switched to a larger crankbait with good results when the shad is big; however, small crankbaits is your best choice for consistent bites. • 27. The Perception Of Human Communication Prejudice, Stereotype, and how they affect listening Often humans form opinions about one another that may hinder them from listening to a particular group or person effectively. Two ways listening can be impaired is by stereotypes and prejudices formed before a certain person even expresses themselves nonverbally or verbally. According to the book Fundamentals of Human Communication the word stereotype is defined as: Rigid and usually negative assumptions about personal and social qualities of people who are members of a particular social category. (G 10) Another scholarly source confirms this definition by stating that a stereotype is a fixed or over generalized belief about a particular group or class of people. (Cardwell, 1996) Over the years people describe types of communication as stereotypical because it allows a communicator to judge the outcome of a conversation before it even occurs. Stereotypes can sometimes be viewed as advantageous in certain situations because it allows a communicator to judge an outcome of a situation based on past situations. For example, if a mother has talked to a doctor previously about how to treat a cold and his advice worked well, chances are she will stereotype what will take place the next time she has a cold and consults a doctor before it even happened. On the other hand, in this case stereotyping can be bad when you assume what the other communicator is going to say or do, prejudging the outcome, and you are wrong. ... Mumbai, India. ravishrsingh@yahoo.com ronakkhandelwal2804@gmail.com prof.manoj@gmail.com Abstract: In this paper a hybrid technique is used for determining the face from an image. Face detection is one of the tedious job to achieve with very high accuracy. In this paper we proposed a method that combines two techniques that is Orthogonal Laplacianface (OLPP) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). The formula for the OLPP relies on the Locality Preserving Projection (LPP) formula, which aims at finding a linear approximation to the Eigen functions of the astronomer Beltrami operator on the face manifold. However, LPP is non orthogonal and this makes it difficult to reconstruct the information. When the set of features is found by the OLPP, with the help of the PSO, the grouping of the image features is done and the one with the best match from the database is given as the result. This hybrid technique gives a higher accuracy in less processing time. Keywords: OLPP, PSO, INTRODUCTION: Recently, appearance based face recognition has received tons of attention. In general, a face image of size n1 × n2 is delineating as a vector within the image house Rn1 × n2. We have a tendency to denote ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Not only did the poets impose themselves the immensely difficult task to describe the notion of love, but they also left the readers with the enjoyable but not easy thing that is the deciphering the meaning of their descriptions. It is how the American poet, prosaic and dramatist, Edward Estlin Cummings, behaved by giving people the interesting image of love in the poem starting with the words: #8220;love is more thicker than forget #8230; #8221;. From this one may draw the conclusion, that love consists of all those things together, but as they acquired wider meanings by adding adjectives, love is something that can not be recognized by our senses. Because can we see, smell, touch, hear or taste something that is #8220;more seldom than a wave is wet #8221;, or #8220;less always than to win #8221;? Or is it possible to explore #8220;the sea which only is deeper than the sea #8221; or #8220;the sky which only is higher than the sky #8221;? The answer is simple: no. People are only able to imagine those abstract phenomena, to feel and understand them in mind. The same is with love #8211; it can not be smelled, touched, seen, etc. in the literary meaning #8211; it transcends the real world and can only be described in ourselves, using abstract notions. And by having no punctuation marks one may read this poem quicker, without stops for comas, full stops. It may indicate the fact that love is the emotion inclusive all those phenomena in the same time, that they are not in contrastive opposition #8211; where one occurs the other can be found there as well. Cause And Effect Of Chacxulub Impact Chicxulub Impact By Talullah Lennon The Cause: An Asteroid is formed in the inner solar system in a particular part called the Asteroid Belt, when small particles of rock and metal collide with each other, and slowly build up over time. According to modern psychologists, Sigmund Freud is considered the father of modern psychology; Freud s idea of the three zones of the psychic apparatus play a heavy influence in Mary Shelley s Frankenstein. He determined that those who had lived their lives in the city were not hardworking enough and had to prove that their life was worth keeping alive by dedicating every waking hour to helping the Khmer Rouge successfully defeat the outsiders (Ung, p. 165). Pol Pot also wanted to purify the country that was infiltrated by many not deemed true Cambodians. This included many minority groups of Chinese and Vietnamese (Youns) who were considered racially corrupt and were systematically banished out of the country or killed (Ung, p. 62). The narrative was that Pol Pot was a savior who was there to protect them and reward obedient Cambodian s with their rightfully earned recognition for being model citizens, however they were ... • 42. Thiosulfate And Iodine Reaction Lab Report In general, this experiment was able to accomplish and establish the rates at which persulfate ions are able to oxidize iodine ions. The reaction between thiosulfate and iodine is known to be rapid, unless there is a sufficient amount of thiosulfate present for the iodine to react with. When thiosulfate is reacting with iodine, the solution will remain colourless, until all the thiosulfate is used up. After a short while, the clear solution will turn into a deep blue when iodine binds to starch. This process allows the rate of reaction to be determined for the persulfate reaction, when the ability to record time is accurate. The first part of this experiment was to determine the individual concentrations of the reactants. In order to do ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Thus, the reaction orders remain valid. Next the value of ΔS2O8 2 was retrieved by dividing [S2O3 2] by 2, which was concluded to be 9.1x10 4 mol/L. Using the ΔS2O8 2 and the time it took for the reaction to complete, the rate was determined. For trial 1, the rate of reaction was 1.61x10 5 mol L 1 s 1, k was 0.167 mol2 L2 s 1 and the ionic strength was 0.2362 mol L 1 s 1. For this reaction no electrolytes were added to speed up the reaction. The reaction run for 1 can be considered as the model reaction for this experiment, since other substances were not added in. For trial 2, the rate was 7.95x10 6 mol L 1 s 1, k was 0.331 mol2 L2 s 1, and the ionic strength was 0.1327 mol L 1 s 1. In this trial, the concentration of [S2O8 2] was reduced, while (NH4)2SO4 was added. The electrolytes from (NH4)2SO4 were able to diffuse, and replenish the reaction s ionic strength. Thus, the k value was higher and the reaction was quick. For the third trial, the rate of reaction was 1.83x10 6 mol L 1 s 1, k was 0.305 mol2 L2 s 1, and the ionic strength was 0.1055 mol L 1 s 1. The concentration of S2O8 2 is ¼ of trial 1, thus the rate of the reaction also decreased, and the overall reaction took longer to finish. For the fourth ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

How can you apply good writing skills to make improvements on your unit? Can you see yourself furthering your career by publishing in a journal or doing a literature review in your area of nursing? Find at least one scholarly source to support your example. One extremely important and potentially lifesaving piece of written communication that we utilized in my department is a difficult intubation letter. • 44. The Causes And Impacts Of British Petroleum On April 20, 2010, British Petroleum s (BP) offshore drilling rig, the Deepwater Horizon, exploded and caused the largest accidental marine oil spill in history, discharging five million barrels of oil into the ocean over a period of three months. During this accident, eleven men working on the oil rig perished and seventeen others were injured severely. This crisis caused major destruction to marine wildlife caused economic harm on fishing and tourism industries and was a public relations nightmare for British Petroleum (Crandall, Parnell Spillan, 2013). This event was horrendous; I remember the devastation that was left in the wake of this tragedy. Beginning in the 1980 s, offshore oil production showed to be a solution for the United States energy issues and national security. In the beginning, the wells were in shallow water, but once these wells were dry, drilling in the deeper water began. Although there were drawbacks, such as the difficulty to drill and operate a well at such tremendous depths and because of these depths robots would have to troubleshoot maintenance problems instead of humans. Additionally, in deep waters, special drilling rigs are needed. There are two types of drilling rigs, the drillship, and the semi submersible. The Deepwater Horizon was a semi submersible rig that was used to excavate the well on the Macondo slope in the Gulf of Mexico. Once the excavation was done, another rig would arrive to extract the oil. Companies like British ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Mandatory Access Control In computer security, Discretionary Access Control (DAC) is a type of access control in which a user has complete control over all the programs it owns and executes, and also determines the permissions other users have those those files and programs. Because DAC requires permissions to be assigned to those who need access, DAC is commonly called described as a need to know access model. In computer security, discretionary access control (DAC) is a type of access control defined by the Trusted Computer System Evaluation Criteria[1] as a means of restricting access to objects based on the identity of subjects and/or groups to which they belong. The controls are discretionary in the sense that a subject with a certain access permission ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Early hardware based enforcement implementations of MAC such as Honeywell s SCOMP, USAF SACDIN, NSA Blacker, and Boeing s MLS LAN focused on MLS to protect military oriented security classification levels with robust enforcement. Originally, the term MAC denoted that the access controls were not only guaranteed in principle, but in fact. Early security strategies[2] enabled enforcement guarantees that were dependable in the face of national lab level attacks. More recently, with the departure from strict hardware based enforcement the expectations of the term mandatory has become more relaxed, migrating from mandating near absolute enforcement to acceptance of best effort enforcement. While software based enforcement is more flexible, the security technology has not yet produced a software based enforcement strategy that can enforce a policy with near certainty. This is because it has been much more difficult to be certain about what a software based system will never do compared to that of hardware based system. He has given the Indian theatre a richness that could probably be equated only with his talents as an actor director. His contribution goes beyond theatre: he has directed feature films, documentaries and television serials in Kannada, Hindi, and English and has played leading roles as an actor in Hindi and Kannada art films, commercial movies and television serials. Carla Borden (Washington; Smithsonian Press, 1988) and Theatre in India, in Daedalus, Vo1.118, No.4, pp.331 52.(7) While as Karnad is a multi faceted personality, it is essentially as a playwright that he is at his best. He confesses, I have been fairly lucky in having a multi pronged career. You know, I have been an actor, a publisher, and a film maker. But in none of these fields have I felt quite as much at home as in playwriting. In India, unfortunately, the writers cannot live on their writing alone; it does not yield enough royalties for sustenance. Karnad says, One can t earn a comfortable living even from a successful play. Take Tughlaq,. As we know, it s been enormously successful ¬critically as well as in performance. Playwrights in the west have been able to retire on such successes or at least, to devote themselves to that activity entirely. I can t. Today Girish Karnad considered one of the most significant Indian dramatists. He has enriched the Indian literary scene by his contribution to art, culture, theatre and drama. It is most befitting that Karnad has been conferred by the President of India, the prestigious awards, Padmasri in 1974 and Padmabhushan in 1992. • 48. Ludwig Wittgenstein s Word Games Introduction: It is a common tendency for philosophers to invent their own vernacular, usually giving new connotations and definitions to terms we find ordinary. An instance of this is Heidegger s Dasein . He takes two very common German words: Da , meaning there and sein , meaning to be , but Dasein has the heavy connotation of not only physically existing there, but being present in a multitude of ways (Heidegger, 1927). Another example is from Foucault expanding the word government not simply in the common notion of managing a country, but further to the ability to govern one s self or one s family through discipline or common ground (Foucault, 1979) Denoting particular connotations onto existing words enables philosophers to give voice to meanings that would be trying or even impossible to say, but the redefining of words can also bring confusion to the reader. As Lois Shawver points out in his article Postmodernizing the Unconscious, if one, as the reader, gives into the assumption that the language is used in the usual way, then the philosopher s words will appear to be outlandish and enigmatic (Shawver, 1998). This begs the question: how does the reader then know if the writer is using an ordinary term or their newly defined meaning of that same term? In order to make this distinction and to understand of the redefined and coined terms, one must read with an intentional awareness of the terms. Wittgenstein understands this difficulty and aids his readers ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 49. The Use Of Diction In Oedipus The King King uses controlling diction and animalizes Jack to illustrate his anxiety in dealing with the resurgence of the wasps, further characterizing Jack as an unstable man who threatens his family s wellbeing through his lack of stereotypical masculinity. King animalizes Jack by constantly comparing his behavior with that of a tiger, a stereotypically savage wild animal, indifferent to the emotions of the persons surrounding them. Through Jack s response to the rediscovery of wasps in Danny s room, King reinforces Jack s animalistic state of mind, as illustrated in his explosive reaction, Shut the fuck up and kill them! he roared (King 133). By having Jack roar out in retaliation to the wasps, King draws a parallel between the behavior of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As opposed to a relaxed, more manly reaction to his son being swarmed by wasps, Jack immediately panics in the face of danger and fails to keep his outer shell of masculinity on in such a high stress period of time. He screams out commands at his wife, Kill them! ... Will you do what I say! (King 133), and fails to deal with the problem himself, as he quickly abandons Wendy and Danny inside the bedroom, leaving Wendy to settle the wasp situation on her own. By implementing this commanding diction, King fully strips Jack of his masculinity, and reveals his true character as a deranged danger to the welfare of his family. In addition to illustrating Jack s severe lack of stereotypically manly traits, controlling diction is also used by King to expose a authority seeking facet of Jack s personality that is ultimately broken down by the reappearance of the wasps.
