• The canal was used as a currier route for

• It was an excellent source of taxes for
Chinese govt.

• Clothing in ancient china was a symbol of status.
• The rich and the poor dressed quite differently.
• There were slosh rules describing what colors
people could wear.
• Jewelry and adornment were an important part of
fashion.
• Cotton clothing was popular to the poor as it was
cheaper.
