• Khaleda Zia Era
• Though no commission or committees were constituted during this phase However,
some important recommendations of the PARC have been implemented by the BNP
(Khaleda lead alliance-20001-2006) and then by interim caretaker government
(Fakhruddin: 2006-08) to make the mechanisms of accountability more effective.
One of the important initiatives was taken by BNP government for financial
transparency and accountability by establishing a Tax Ombudsman on July 12, 2005
through passing Tax Ombudsman Act 2005.
