The document discusses the causes and effects of global warming. It outlines both natural causes such as the greenhouse effect, deforestation, and ozone depletion, as well as anthropogenic causes like industrialization, mining, and rapid population growth. Some of the effects of global warming mentioned are rising temperatures, increasing sea levels, and shortages of cereal crops in tropical regions. The document also provides recommendations for reducing global warming such as planting trees, driving less, using energy saving light bulbs, and recycling paper.

Global Warming is one of the biggest global problem. It is affecting us and the environment day by day.
The Presesentation consists of the causes of global warming, the effects and then finally will tell you the solutions of it so that we can save the earth and the environment.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
Palestine last event orientationfvgnh .pptxRaedMohamed3
An EFL lesson about the current events in Palestine. It is intended to be for intermediate students who wish to increase their listening skills through a short lesson in power point.
We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
3. NATURAL CAUSES OF GLOBAL WARMING
GREEN HOUSE EFFECT
NATURAL CALAMITIES,ETC.
ANTHROPOGENIC CAUSES
RAPID INDUSTRIALISATION
MINING ACTIVITIES,ETC.
EFFECT OF GLOBAL WARMING
INCREASE IN TEMRATURE
INCREASE SEA LEVEL
4. It is a gradual increase in the
overall temperature of the earth’s
atmosphere generally attributed to
the greenhouse effect caused by
increased level of carbon dioxide ,
CFCs, and other pollution.
7. The greenhouse effect is a natural process that
warms the Earth’s surface. When the Sun’s energy
reached the Earth’s atmosphere, some of it is
reflected back to
space and the
rest is
absorbed and
re-radiated.
9. Deforestation ,clearance or clearing is the
removal of the forest or stand of trees where
the land is thereafter converted to a non-
forest use. Deforestation occurs for multiple
reasons: trees are cut down to be used for
building or sold as fuel [sometimes in the
form of charcoal or timber],while cleared
land is used as pasture for livestock and
plantation.
10. Ozone is constantly created and
destroyed, in the past 50 years, the rate
of destruction has far exceeded its rate of
creation. As a result a hole has appeared
over Antarctica in the ozone layer of that
atmosphere. The main destroyers of
ozone are cfc’s [chlorofluorocarbons].
11. Natural calamities
A natural disaster is a major adverse3 event
resulting from natural processes of the earth;
example include floods, hurricanes, tornadoes
volcanic eruptions, earthquake, tsunamis and
other geologic processes. A natural disaster can
cause loss of life or property damage, and
typically leaves some economic damage in its
wake, the severity of while.
12. Here are some anthropogenic
causes of global warming
14. INDUTRIALIZATION
Industrialization is the period of social and
economic change that transform a human
group from an agrarian society into an
industrial society , involving the extensive
re-organisation of an economic for the
purpose of manufacturing.
15. MINING EFFECT
The effect of mining includes
erosion formation of sinkholes, loss
of biodiversity, and surface water by
chemicals from mining processes.
16. POPULATION GROWTH
POPULATION GROWTH IS THE INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF INDIVIDUALS IN A
POPULATION . GLOBAL HUMAN POPULATION. GROWTH AMOUNT TO AROUND 75
MILLION ANNUALLY , OR 1.1% PER YEAR . THE GLOBAL POPULATION HAS GROWTH
FROM 1 BILLION IN 1800 TO 7 BILLION IN 2012 . IT IS EXPECTED TO KEEP GROWING ,
AND ESTIMATES HAVE PUT THE TOTAL POPULATION AT 8.4 BILLION BY MID -2030,AND
9.6BILLION BY MID -2050 . MANY NATION WITH RAPID POPULATION GROWTH HAVE
LOW STANDARDS OF LIVING , WHEREAS MANY NATIONS WITH LOW RATES OF
POPULATION GROWTH HAVE HIGH STANDARDS OF LIVING.
17.
18.
19. Climate change will bring about
sustainable changes in cereal production
specially in the tropics . In the tropics ,
cereals dominate the food sources and
are the mainstay of agriculture . There
will be more shortages of cereals.
