Qataris take pride in their freedom and see themselves as free citizens of Qatar. They view their country as an opportunity and place for art. Qataris are known to be welcoming to outsiders and enjoy socializing over food and culture. As a small Gulf country originally settled by Bedouin tribes, Qatari culture and way of life is influenced by its location in the Middle East and Arab identity. While traditional dress and conservative values remain, Qatari society has modernized with urban development but still maintains cultural similarities to surrounding countries.

2. What does it mean to be a Qatari??
 To be a Qatari, according to us, means that “I AM FREE”, it means
most of all to be free and to be proud that I live in Qatar.
 “This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the
home of the brave”.
 Qatar is another name for opportunity. Our whole history appears
like a last effort of divine providence on behalf of the human race.

4. What features of character are
characteristic of the inhabitants of Qatar?
 The people of Qatar are extraordinary. Many say that the best thing about Qatar is the
people who live in it.
 Don’t be fooled by the people saying that Qataris are unapproachable. If you spend time
in local spaces doing the things you love-whether its films, art, food or cars, sooner or
later you’ll make a local friend. When you do, you’ll come to realize that there isn’t
much separating you. A Qatari loves jokes, invites you for karak, takes you to meet his
friends at Majlis, and is eager to talk to you and share his culture with you.
 Qatar is an oasis for art. Qatari people are very artistic and they admire art.
 Qatar hosts many social media influencers, be it fashion, travel, technology, or food.
Your Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter feeds lights up with beautifully-captures images
of food, trips, and clothes you didn’t know you needed.
 Qataris have a diverse character which makes them unique and great people!

6. How do the features relate to the
location of your country in the
world? Qatar was originally settled by Bedouin nomads from the central part
of the Arabian peninsula. Arabic is the official language, and most
Qataris speak a dialect of Gulf Arabic similar to that spoken in
surrounding states. Islam is the official religion, and Qataris are
largely Sunni Muslims. Qataris are largely urban duelers; less than 1
percent of the population lives in rural areas. This being due to
Qatar’s location in the world. It being in the middle-east and being a
great and important Arab country.

8. How does the way of life of the inhabitants of
your country relate to the location of your
country in the world?
 Life in Doha is influenced by a mixture of Arab customs and
modernity. Customs of Qatar and the way of life there are
influenced by the location of Qatar and by the religion of Islam.
Men wear the white THOBE which is the national dress while
women mostly wear the black ABAYA and HIJAB (head scarf). The
people used to live in tents as Bedouin then they progressed and
developed to make such cities. The people are conservative and
they enjoy their privacy. Being a neighboring country of many Arab
and Muslim countries, Qatar also has may similarities with these
countries.
