This document describes an experiment to study the voltage-current (V-I) characteristics of an incandescent lamp and a compact fluorescent lamp (CFL). The experiment involves connecting each lamp to an autotransformer and measuring the current and voltage across the lamp as the transformer output is increased and decreased. Readings will be recorded in a table and used to plot the V-I characteristics and calculate theoretical values like resistance and power. The goal is to understand how current changes with voltage for each type of lamp.
