Character Analysis Essay Outline
Crafting a Character Analysis Essay Outline can be a challenging endeavor that requires a deep
understanding of the chosen character, insightful analysis skills, and the ability to structure your
thoughts cohesively. The process involves delving into the complexities of a character's
personality, motivations, and actions, and then presenting these insights in a well-organized
manner.
Firstly, you need to thoroughly acquaint yourself with the character in question, whether it be
from literature, film, or any other medium. This requires careful reading, watching, or studying to
grasp the nuances of the character's traits, relationships, and overall significance to the narrative.
Understanding the character's background, experiences, and development over the course of the
story is crucial.
Once you have gathered sufficient information, the next step is to analyze and interpret the
character's traits and behaviors. This involves exploring the motivations behind their actions, the
conflicts they face, and the impact they have on the overall storyline. It is essential to go beyond
surface-level observations and delve into the deeper layers of the character's psyche.
Structuring the essay poses another challenge. Developing a coherent outline that logically
presents your analysis requires careful consideration of the key aspects you want to highlight.
From the introduction to the conclusion, each section should flow seamlessly, guiding the reader
through your insights and interpretations. Balancing the analytical depth with clarity is a delicate
task that demands attention to detail.
Moreover, maintaining a formal and academic tone throughout the essay adds another layer of
complexity. Finding the right words to express your thoughts while adhering to the conventions
of essay writing can be challenging, especially when dealing with subjective interpretations of a
character.
In conclusion, the process of writing a Character Analysis Essay Outline demands a combination
of research, analytical thinking, and effective communication skills. It is not merely summarizing
the character's traits but delving into their psychology, motivations, and significance in the
narrative. Success in crafting such an essay lies in the ability to navigate these challenges with
precision and creativity.

Reaction Paper On Clint Eastwood
Spurious Miscreant While many revere Clint Eastwood as an artistic wonder when it
comes to directing, and having remarkable acumen when he pours himself into a
role, not everyone shares such positive sentiments. There have been claims that Clint
Eastwood s vigilant protection of his privacy is because he is a volatile, ill tempered
man; who mirrors the violence and complete disregard of others in the roles he s
undertaken. Some just have blatant disgust for his movies, the violence, the nasty
treatment of women. Are these all things that lie secretly below the surface of this
seemingly amiable man? First, let s talk about the treatment and the depiction of
women in almost all of the movies that got Clint Eastwoodwhere he is today. I would
like to start off with an excerpt written by Laura Mulvey, from an educational
textbook titled, Visual Pleasure and Narrative Cinema:
In a world ordered by sexual imbalance, pleasure in looking has been split between
active/male and passive/female. The determining male gaze projects its fantasy on
to the female figure which is styled accordingly, in their traditional exhibitionist
role women are simultaneously looked at and displayed with their appearance
coded for strong visual and erotic impact so that they can be said to connote to be
looked at ness Women displayed as sexual object is the leit motiff of erotic spectacle:
from pin ups to strip tease, from Ziegfield to Busby Berkeley, she holds the look,

Battle Of Yorktown Research Paper
Battle of Yorktown In 1781 general George Washington and his 17,000 troops of
the continental army and the army of France entered the city of Yorktown, Virginia.
With Lord General Cornwallis he only had 9,000 troops to try to defend the city of
Yorktown. This is known as the most important battle in the revolutionary war.
General Cornwallis chose Yorktown as his base in case he and his troops needed to
escape by sea. But unfortunately for Cornwallis the United States formed an alliance

Q1, Draw a network for the project described in the case.
Q2:
How long will the project take to complete? And which activities are critical? After
drawing the structure of project plan, we have to research the duration while the
project take to complete. We will find the activities that must be completed on time
for the project to complete on due date.
We know all of activities required time and immediate predecessors, finding out the
longest sequences of activities in a project plan. For
example, from the started point of A1, its ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What will it cost to shorten the project by as many weeks as possible?
The project can be shortened by 6 weeks maximum.
Based on the crash time for 6 activities (A3 A4 A7and B2 B5 B6), we can come up
with the new numbers of weeks that each activity needs.
According to the critical path we already found, we could see that B9 is an
important activity. Once it was changed, B6 changed. So we also need
to find how A5 B3 B8 changed.
The crash of B5, B6 leaded to the change of A4 and A5 (17,21), so the crash of A3 is
invalid; The crash of B2 leaded to the change of C5, so B8 became (18,22); B2
changed B3 to (11.21). Then the time of B9 changed to (22,30). Since the earliest
time for B9 is 22 anyway, and we crashed
B5, B6 for one week each to make it s final time 21, we could cancel
B6 s crash for its higher cost.
Then we finally crash A7 for 2 weeks. so the final time for A8 was 46 followed by
calculating.
The total cost to shorten the project is
A4+A7+B5+B2
=3900+7000+1700+3200=15800

Gustav Holst s The Planets
Gustav Holst was a British composer born in Cheltenham in 1874. The Planets
nearly took Gustav two years to compose because he had other jobs on the side, like
teaching, which he did almost his entire life. He believed that The Planets wasn t his
best works, though it was an immediate success. Along with the success of The
Planetshis work load and his stress levels also rose. In 1924 he was ordered to take a
break, by his doctor, in the country where he could compose his music without any
problems or other stresses. Gustav Holstdied on the 25th of May 1934 of congestive
heart failure. The live performance of The Planets that I observed was conducted by
Maciej Tarnowski. He started experimenting and learning how to play instruments...

The hall was very well lit the whole time during the performance. I expected for the
hall to be dimmed just to make the room feel more intimate, but I guess I had a
bias idea of what a classical performance should look like. I found the venue to be
small compared to what o was anticipating. The walls to the venue seemed to be
made out of a white marble and it had a huge beautiful organ as the back drop.
There were also two balconies, one in each side of the room, and a large chandelier
in the middle that shined on the orchestra below. The venue could probably be
classified as a warm/ friendly environment.
The attire of the orchestra was the usual black and white tux for men and the black
dressy dresses for the ladies. Being that it was a classical music event, I didn t see
anything out of the ordinary with the outfits and the colors didn t call my attention
in any way either. It was the normal, expected look that you would see for these
type of performers to have. I saw a few lace dresses, some had embroidery, and others
were just plain black dresses. As for the men they looked like copies of one another.
They had the same bow tie, same dress shirt and the same suit
Racism in the Sports Pages Essay
September 1, 1955: The African American Absence
The 1950 s saw the birth of rock and roll and the explosion of television sitcoms.
The decade was also marked by the influx of African American athletes into the
sporting world following Jackie Robinson s debut for the Brooklyn Dodgers in
1947. However, one would not realize the significance of African Americans in
athletics by reading sports pages during the 1950 s. The athletic achievements of
African Americans were often doomed to the latter pages of sports sections in favor
of advertisements and routine sports articles. The San Francisco Chronicle is guilty of
hiding the impact of African Americans in sports, reflecting a lack of racial tolerance.
It can be said that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The school missed the boat the first time around, as Jackie Robinson, himself, lettered
in football for the Bruins. He was a star on the team as a running back and from all
reports was a man of great character, yet was passed over when it came time to elect
the captain of the team.
Hardiman Cureton, a decade later, had more luck than Robinson. He must have
been ecstatic to be elected captain. However, to be called a Negro in the headline
of an article written about an honor bestowed upon him must have felt like a slap
in the face. Or maybe it didn t. Maybe he expected to be called a Negro because it
was commonplace in 1950 s American society. The San Francisco Chronicle certainly
portrayed it as such.
The fact that this article even needed to be written says a lot about American
society as a whole. Nowadays, it is fairly uncommon to find a college football team
without a black captain. Back in 1955, the naming of a black captain was news.
Maybe it was not news that people had an interest in reading, as evidenced by the
article s short length and less than ideal page placement. If it truly meant a great
amount to the readers or writers of the San Francisco Chronicle, the sports editor
probably would have placed it on the front page of his section. Although this story
might not have been deemed front page material like articles on
My First Semester At The Ohio State University Essay
If you can t make it better, you can laugh at it. I found this quote by American
columnist Erma Bombeck about a month into my first semester at The Ohio State
University. I liked it a lot. So much that I wrote it in sprawling letters on the dry
erase board that I had been using to scribble my motivational quote of the week
and I never erased it. I could not have known at the time how Erma s words would
transform from something my roommate and I would say flippantly about bad first
dates and failed quizzes, into a philosophy that would carry me through four years
of studies and shape the person I am today. I needed laughter desperately during
those first few months of college. My grades were bad, my family was in crisis, I
felt friendless and alone and I did not know who I was or what I was doing. Those
first few months felt like I was stumbling through a dark an unfamiliar room,
looking for lamp to turn on. Stumbling through that darkness I eventually found
myself in the basement of a university building auditioning for Fishbowl Improv. I
had come to fishbowl auditions on a whim. Bijan, the boy who lived across the
hall, told me I should try out with him, and so I did. Nobody was more surprised
that I was when I got the call that I made it in.
My time in fishbowl taught me more than I could have ever guessed there was to
learn. Most of all, I learned that I hadn t been taking laughter seriously enough.
Comedy feels like an instinct until you apply yourself to it.
A Survey On Product Development Surveys
5. Surveys :
Whenever we want to launch a new product to the market, it is very important to do
market research with product development surveys. This kind of surveys help to
know whether such a product will really work, long before you ve invested in a
product launch.
The survey is usually divided into two parts :
Survey introduction: Creating the correct introduction is the most important part of
developing a survey. Majority of potential respondents will decide whether or not to
drop out of the survey based solely on the introduction. The introduction will set the
tone for the rest of the survey. Without providing the correct information your
respondents may feel uncomfortable or suspicious of the research study. So when
you create your introduction, look at your survey from the perspective of the
respondent. Remember, each respondent has to decide whether they are going to
provide you with their personal information. The best advice is to try to predict if
there are any concerns a respondent may have, and address them immediately in the
survey. Always add the topic and purpose of the survey, expected time to complete it,
a confidentiality statement, reward information if there is any and finally a thank
you note.
Survey questions: Good survey questions lead us to getting reliable responses that
will help to achieve our product goals. The key points to remember while creating
survey question are, always give respondents an option of I don t know as many
Freedom of Choice in Steinbeck s East of Eden Essay
Our circumstances do not determine our lives. Instead, our lives are determined
by our choices. That is not to say that our lives are not impacted by the country in
which we were born, the family which we were born to, or the tragedies which
touched our lives. We are given a choice of how we respond to those things, and the
power of choice means that the lessons and value of our lives is not determined by
outside influences, but instead it is determined by our reaction to those influences. In
the novel, East of Eden by John Steinbeck theorizes that all individuals have the
freedom to make choices in order to triumph over evil. Steinbeck demonstrates this by
his use of the word timshel, the word, which translates to thou mayest, is... Show

Adam was clearly an Abel, good to the core. In contrast, Charles, his jealous brother,
was a Cain figure. Adam s set of twins took on characteristics of good and evil also.
Aron, the fair haired child, was considered the good son throughout most of the
novel. He was his father s favorite and Abra s true love. The dark Cal, on the other
hand, was jealous and mean. He believed throughout most of the novel that he was
incapable of goodness and was condemned to the wickedness of his mother.
Ironically, by the end of the novel, Cal became a good son and received his father s
blessings. Through the teachings of Lee, the family servant, Cal had learned that
he had the freedom to choose goodness over evil. Cathy, the twin s mother, insists
that there is only evil in the world, and immersed herself into taking advantage of
other people s flaws and weaknesses. Cathy also had that freedom of choice, but she
always made the wrong decision and remained the totally evil character throughout
the novel. People are better off believing that their lives are filled with choices.
They do not get the luxury of blaming their circumstances on external factors. We
all decide how we respond to life s challenges, and there are excellent examples of
people all around us who have found ways to overcome the most difficult troubles of
birth and life. At the end of the day, we all choose. This is a principle that should be
reinforced
Abraham Lincoln s Assassination Of The United States
On April 14, 1865 President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes
Booth while at Ford s Theater. This is a widely known fact but many of the events
leading up to his death are obscure. Why was he assassinated? What was really
supposed to happen that dreadful night? What made the south so mad? How did this
affect the future of the United States? All of these questions have answers, the only
thing you have to do is look.
Let s start by getting to know our late president. Abraham Lincoln, our sixteenth
President of the United States, was elected on November 6, 1860. He only received
40% of the popular vote, none of which was from the South. Lincoln became
president during the highest conflict between North and South in ... Show more

He was also a Confederate sympathizer, vehement in his denunciation of Lincoln, and
was strongly opposed to the abolition of slavery in the United States. Booth and a
group of co conspirators originally plotted to kidnap Lincoln but later planned to kill
him, Vice President Andrew Johnson, and Secretary of State William H. Seward in a
bid to help the Confederacy s cause. Although Robert E. Lee s Army of Northern
Virginia had surrendered four days earlier, Booth believed the American Civil War
was not yet finished because Confederate General Joseph E. Johnston s army was
still fighting the Union Army. Of the conspirators, only Booth was completely
successful in carrying out his part of the plot. Booth shot Lincoln once in the back
of the head, and the President died the next morning. Seward was severely
wounded but recovered. Vice President Johnson was never attacked at all.
Following the assassination, Booth fled on horseback to southern Maryland,
eventually making his way to a farm in rural northern Virginia 12 days later, where
he was located. Booth s companion gave himself up, but Booth refused and was
shot by Boston Corbett, a Union soldier, after the barn in which he was hiding was
set ablaze. Eight other conspirators or suspects were tried and convicted, and four

Essay on The Unethical Nature of Operation Iron Triangle
The 3rd Brigade, 101st Airborne Division, a unit known as the Rakkasans, were
conducting Operation Iron Triangle in 2006 in Iraq when soldiers killed eight
unarmed Iraqi men. The US military severely reprimanded the Commander of the
Rakkasans, COL Michael Steele, for the unethical command climate his leadership
allowed to exist within the unit at that time. This unit will need a new commander
that can set and maintain an effective, ethical command climate through his
leadership. That new commander should resolve the issues that led to the reported
war crime in order to establish a culture that perpetuates an ethical command climate.
According to MCRP 4 11.8B, War Crimes, there are a number of factors that when
present can lead to war... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Third, COL Steele offered trophy knives as a reward for killing insurgents or
exemplary service. Offering an award for exemplar service is a good idea but a
reward based on insurgent kills is not. It further dehumanizes Iraqis and places an
emphasis on killing over other mission objectives. Fourth, COL Steele did not
communicate the Rules of Engagement (ROE) very well with his unit. His speeches
emphasized his core principles of be precise; be lethal; be safe, but that caused his
soldiers to believe that COL Steele wanted them to shoot instead of capture potential
insurgents. Fifth, at the company headquarters, soldiers had posted a kill board that
tracked the number of Iraqis killed during operations. This kill board represents the
degree to which COL Steele s soldiers were dehumanized the Iraqis and were
confused over the ROE. These issues would eventually lead to the war crime being
committed during Operation Iron Triangle. A new commander taking over the unit
following COL Steele s departure will have to establish a command climate that
overcomes the current culture within the Rakkasans. The new commander must
confer with his leadership team to determine what the issues are within the culture
that leads to the unethical command. The first step should be to disseminate
command climate surveys. The results of the command climate survey would help
judge the extent to which soldiers assess the ethical situation

Policing Functions
Law enforcement in the United States consists of local municipal, county, state, and
federal agencies. These agencies make up a very large and very complex enterprise.
Throughout the United States, there are almost 18,000 different law enforcement
agencies at the local, county, state, and federal levels. Along with the law
enforcement agencies also comes private security industry that is made up of over a
million people. Each of these agencies have some similar characteristics in common
with each other, however to completely generalize a typical police department is very
risky.
Local organization level.
Local ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are two agencies that come to mind when a person is thinking about the state
levels of law enforcement. These two agencies are either the State Police or the
Highway Patrol. The State Police have statewide policing powers for both traffic
regulations and criminal investigations. The Highway Patrol also has statewide
authority, but they concentrate more on the traffic regulations and non traffic
violations in their jurisdictions (Walker Katz, 2008).
Federal organizational level.
The federal component of the law enforcement industry is relatively small but more
complex than generally recognized. In 2004 there were an estimated 105,000 full
time federal law enforcement employees. This figure includes all personnel
authorized to carry firearms and make arrests. It does not include military police,
however (Walker Katz, 2008).
Federal organizations consist of federal law enforcement agencies such as the Federal
Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA). Another
federal organization is our military law enforcement (Walker Katz, 2008).
Seventeen federal law enforcement agencies employ 500 or more sworn officers.
The U.S. Customs and Border Protection is the largest with 27,705 full time officers,
followed by the Federal Bureau of Prisons with 15,214 officers, and the Federal
Bureau of Investigations with 12,242
Pensacola Interracialism
Pensacola first attracted it s the attention of European colonies in the 16th Century,
when Spain sought to expand the northern boundary of it American empire. The
native inhabitants of Pensacola were the Panzacola Indians and the first encounter
between the Spaniards and the native inhabitants was in 1528. On the day of the
Spaniard s arrival, after dinner in the home of a local native chief, tribesmen with
rocks and arrows attached them, killing several. This did not stop Spain in
establishing a Spanish settlement at Pensacola. In August 1559, more than one
thousand, five hundred soldiers, settlers and slaves disembarked at Pensacola Mexico
to establish a permanent Spanish settlement under Governor Tristan de Luna. A
month later, a hurricane... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Accounts of bondspeople fleeing south toward Pensacola countered the popular
image of enslaved men and women escaping from the Upper south to the Northern
State and Canada in the decades before the civil war.
Abolitionists helped the slaves run away to safer places and/or run away completely.
As evidence, the tales of the Underground Railroad demonstrate that, a small group of
bondspeople managed to escape from slavery permanently and travelled in a northerly
direction, often with the assistance of others. Among them include Frederick
Douglass, Henry Box Brown, William Wells Brown, Harriet Jacobs, Tubman and
Josiah Henson.
Despite being a preferred destination by a lot of run away slaves and a beacon for
enslaved people, Pensacola did not experience any economic growth. Neighboring
seaports along the Gulf Coast like New Orleans, Louisiana and Alabama experienced
explosive population growth and economic development. Pensacola remained an
isolated frontier village. The inhabitants were chiefly West India traders, smugglers,
private men, Indians, half breeds, run away Negroes and white men who had fled
from America for good

Casino Game Roulette
Roulette
Roulette is a casino game where The House or also known as the Dealer, rolls
marbles around a spinning circle that is slanted known as a roulette wheel. The
wheel consists of 38 slots. The marble rolls and will then eventually land on one of
38 red or black slots, numbered from 0 to 36 with there being two zeros. The idea of
the game is to guess where it s going to land. The lower the chance of you guessing
right, the higher the possible payout can be. Everyone places their bets on where
they think the marble could possibly land. The dealer then closes the table to betting
and the marble is rolled.
There area couple possibilities for winning. You can guess the exact number the
marble will land on, you can split the bet to use select multiple possibilities of
winning the round. which one of the three thirds it will land on, the bottom or the
top portion of the the wheel, a black, or red number, and last the number could be

The probability that the marble will land on a black number between 19 and 36 is
Вј. The payout of each of those is 2 to 1 because there is a ВЅ chance that you guess
right.
If you guess a single number, the probability of guessing right is 1/38, so the payout
is 38 to 1. The choices that have a ВЅ chance of winning are low risk but also the
lowest reward. Betting on a singular number can either lose you your money or you
can leave with 38 times as much money. 1 in 38 is a 2% chance, so it would be very
unlikely you guess right.
Probability is everywhere. Probability is just about everything in the world. It s in
the games that we played with our families as kids, and it in the games that we
might play when we are older. Probability is something that is very important to how
we make our decisions and ultimately make or break
Aristotle And Socrates
To answer the question, I will be comparing Pericles s, Aristotle s and Socrates s
thoughts about whether to think ourselves as friends or as strangers. Pericles and
Aristotle conceptualize political communities largely as associations of friends.
Pericles believes that participation in democracy, is in a way allows Athenians to
become great warriors, to develop friendship and to have communal beliefs.
Friendship and community are integral to democracy. Pericles said, a man who is
private has no business in Athens. The idea of Democracy is that citizens get the
opportunities to participate in state affairs and help to make certain decisions. Athens
is a democratic city, they give equal rights and opportunities to their citizens to
participate in political matters and let their citizens voice be heard. If you are
Athenian citizen, you are very lucky individuals. Socrateson the other hand,
conceptualizes political communities largely as associations of strangers. Socrates
believes that it is better to think about ourselves as strangers than friends. Socrates

If they allow others who are not citizens to get involved in the political matters and
have a total stranger who has a wise opinion on certain matter, there will be different
and better outcomes. For those reasons Socrates philosophies are the better of the
two. Pericles and Aristotle failed in this aspect, because their idea does not allow
everyone to participate in the government, particularly those who are mechanics, even
those mechanics who are wise and can offer innovative ideas cannot participate due to

The Environmental Effects Of Aquaculture
Fish cultivating, otherwise called Aquaculture, is an industry that utilizes ocean life
for business purposes. A standout amongst the most widely recognized fish species
that are cultivated worldwide is salmon. The greater parts of the salmon that
Americans consumed are cultivated in British Columbia and develop in open net
pens set specifically in the sea; creating environmental threats in all areas it takes
place. The problem with open net cages that are placed directly in the ocean is; the
release of ocean harming farm waste, chemicals, and diseases. Before these problems
can be solved, a look at the salmonnet cage industry is needed, along with the
environmental impacts. Open cages are not secure in fact many farmed salmon
can escape, escapees usually occur during storms or damages made to the net by
their predators. The problem with escapees is that they are known to travel long
ways and carry diseases. Farmers are encouraged to treat farmed salmon with
antibiotics since they are in open net cages in the ocean and are prone to diseases
found in the ocean. In Four Fish, Paul Greenberg deprecates the idea of farming
salmon due to a ...a privatization of public resource and farming sites that previously

Youth Surveillance System
According to the 2015 Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System (YRBSS), 13.9
percent of high school students were obese, and an additional 16.0 percent were
overweight ( Study of High ). As you look around your local community you see a
lot of adults and children that are overweight or obese. Gym classes are important in
schools because they provide physical activity, coordination balance and flexibility,
and socialization. Physical exerciseis a necessity in schools because children and
young adults need the physical exerciseand the endorphin production. Gym classes
provide students with physical exercise on a consistent basis. It is particularly
important for the physical well being of children who do not engage in physical

A Study On An Online Course
Scenario 1: A staff member scans photographs from some out of print books for use
by a
professor on his course web site for an online course.
Scenario 2: The semester has started and some students have not received their
textbook, so
one student makes electronic copies of the textbook and distributes the copies to
others in the course.
He does not collect any money from his classmates.
The above scenarios both take place in an educational environment, which
immediately calls fair
use to mind. Fair use allows for a copyrighted work to be used for criticism, comment,
news reporting,
teaching, scholarship and research (Copyright.gov, 2011). In both of these cases,
claims could be made
that the people using the copyrighted work are doing so for teaching or scholarship
purposes, which
would make both of them eligible for fair use. Yet, fair use has four factors that have
to be taken into
consideration when determination if the use is indeed fair. These four factors are:
commercial or non
commercial use, nature of the work, amount or substantiality of the worked used, and
impact of the use
on the work (Copyright.gov, 2011). These factors are what really make case for the
difference between
these two cases.
The first factor of fair use is commercial vs. non commercial use. These two cases
may seem
different initially, but they are actually the same in respect to this factor. The student
in scenario 2 is

Those 12 tribes of Israel transcended into the Jewish Nation. The name Jew
originates Yehuda, one of the 12 sons of Jacob. The 12 sons are Shimon, Reuben,
Levi, Naphtali, Yehuda, Gad, Dan, Asher, Zevulun, Yisachar, Yosef, and Binyamin.
Many modern families continue to pass down those name from generation to
generation. (Jewish Virtual Library) Although the spelling might be slightly
different, by examining its pronunciation, you can find similarities in those names.

The Inspiration For American Education
Inspiration for American Education In order to find food for her family to survive, a
famished woman rummages around the streets, hunts through trash bins, and asks
oncoming pedestrians for food, but she has no luck and gives up hope. After
searching for days and giving up hope, she wishes she would have gone to collegefor
a better education to support her children. Millions of men, women, and teenagers
suffer each day because they do not have the adequate education for finding a
qualifying job. Although many people have different excuses why they did not go to
college, they have the same opportunities to earn at least a two year college degree.
Since community colleges and universities provide numerous ways to help students
pay for college, all American students should want to further their education after
high school. Although people from all over the world do not have the proper
education to find a high quality career, they have plenty of opportunities to succeed
and to earn a degree. Receiving a college degree will help people have a better life
and encourage them to accomplish future goals. Why should all American students
earn at least a two year college degree? All American students should earn at least a
two year college degree because they can advance in their education, establish a better
life, and inspire future generations.
Many students do not participate in college because they do not have enough money
to pay for their classes, but colleges now offer

Statement of the Problem
The problem is the shift in organization how healthcare is delivered. The problems
our health care system has been facing, is the fragmented care starting at patients
primary care physician. The Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH) model is
aimed to promote comprehensive, coordinated, patient centered care delivered by
teams of primary care providers, including nurses and physicians ( Massachusetts
Patient Centered Medical Home Initiatives , 2014).
The Patient Centered Primary Care Collaborative believes this model recognizes a
fundamental value about health care delivery: A health care system built upon a
strong primary care foundation, supported by the patient centered medical home

Iran Women Equality
EDUCATION
Education of women and girls in the Middle East has made progress in recent
decades, however females still lack access to the same quality and quantity of
education as their male peers. Women face obstacles such as limitations on what
fields they may study, a higher standard of academic performance than their male
peers to study in a given field, and segregation from their male peers at universities.
In Iran, women s unequal access to education is more often the result of traditional
societal values rather than of law. After the Iranian Revolution of 1979, the monarchy
was replaced by religious clerics, who under Ayatollah Khomeini, held political
power. This resulted in a regression of women s rights and human rights. Women s...

Criterion-Related Validity Essay
In this post, I will examine the relationship between SATs scores and student success
in college through the lens of criterion validity. Since currently Higher Education
institutions are focusing on ranking, now, more than ever, admissions requirements
are becoming more strict, and heavier weight is being placed on SAT scores as a
way determining quality students. Currently, SAT scores are used to determine
whether a student will be successful in college. This shift is causing a great push to
identify students of risk, and for more elite institutions, who should be admitted
(Chronicle of Higher Education, 2017). Do to this shift, there is great emphasis
placed on the SATs as an indicator of college success. The question that many student
affairs professionals and educational leaders ask are, does this test accurately measure
and show a relationship between test scores and outcomes?

In the context of Higher Education and its reliance on the SATs as a predictor to
determine the fate of many student s paths, it is important to know that the this
standardized test scores accurately measure what we say they measure.
Some things to consider about using this test to measure student success...does it
account for aspects of social capital (Yosso s Model) and its influence on how a
student may interrupt a question? Does this standardized test have a way of
understanding the multiple aspects of a student s identity that influences the way
they perceive and interpret questions? Does it account for the financial aspect of
paying for tutoring? The SATs do give institutions the ability to anticipate a student s
success, but it certainly does not measure the academic
Aluminum Foils
Before building the design that is best fit for the presentation, there was many
models that had failed . To start off with, the first design to successfully float with
50 pennies for 20 seconds was Tyler s design that was built with two pop cans and
two sheets of aluminum paper (one is used to wrap the cans while the other is
used to make a cup to hold the pennies). However, when the group weighed this in
class, it was around 31 grams, which is 4.5 grams overweight (the requirement is
26.5 grams). Seeing this, the group cut the top of both cans off, this decreased the
weight and allowed the boat to meet standards. Sadly, since the opening was big,
small amounts of water leaked in while tested, this made the group reconsider using
this design in the final presentation. Following Tyler s design, Jalen created a
design that had one pop can and aluminum foil wrapped around it, however, when
Jalen tested this at home, it did not work. During this time, Claire made a design to
Tyler s. Instead of using aluminum foil to wrap around the two cans, Claire poked
two holes through both cans and used a metal strip (a strip of aluminum cut from a
pop can) and connected the two cans. Knowing that it will be overweight, Claire cut
both tops off.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Starting off with Tyler s design, the surface areaof this boat is bigger, this allows the
pressure from the pennies to spread out. Claire s design is similar to Tyler s, its
advantage over the previous design is that it is lighter, however, it is also
unbalanced making the boat float in an awkward angle. Lastly, there is the group
design, which has the advantage of disabling the water to cover its insides but a
disadvantage of a higher number in the depth of the displaced area. To prove this, the
group should test all three boats out during the presentation, this would help
communicate the designs on each
Distinction Between Meaning And Purpose
With art as a medium through which the artist communicates knowledge to an
audience, this knowledge has the potential to create meaning and purpose in our
personal lives. When someone accepts the artist s claims as personal knowledge,
he gains an understanding that is personally significant to his life. Meaning lies in
the individual s personal interpretation of artwork he deems significant and accepts
as personal knowledge. Conversely, the audience finds purpose in the knowledge
an artist shares when they feel compelled to pursue a task inspired by the art and
the artist s knowledge claims. The purpose of knowledge can appear as active
support for or rejection of the artist s claims. Due to this distinction between meaning
and purpose, knowledge then must be able to produce one without the other, thereby
yielding the title s oversimplistic assumption that the whole point of knowledge must
produce both, which limits the scope of knowledge s functions. The whole point of
knowledge is not to produce meaning and purpose, as knowledge exists when
producing only one, or when serving another function. The title assumes that
knowledge is valuable, or worthy of accepting as personal knowledge, only if it
produces meaning and purpose for our personal lives. This implies that an artist
should create art only if the message is meaningful and purposeful to all audiences.
However, this reduces the value of knowledge, which has greater potential in being
personally significant through

We have reviewed NFPA 13, 2013 edition that you indicated as the applicable
standard as well as the 2016 edition. Our informal interpretation is that the occupancy

The base requirement is Section 8.6.6.1 that indicates that the clearance between
the deflector and the top of storage shall be 18 in. or greater. There are times where
that is impractical where additional sprinklers have to be provided. This would
require sprinklers to be placed on the four corners of the vehicle. Annex material
A.8.5.6.1 addresses this clearance issue that states, The 18 in. clearance does not
apply to vehicles in concrete parking structures. Since that is located in Section 8.5
General, this applies to all sprinkler types. Parking garages with low height ceilings
and piping runs with dry pipe systems create clearance issues for the sprinklers
even without car stackers. This usually involves higher vehicles such as large
SUVs and vans. Even if the vehicle locations are initially specified and sprinklers
are placed accordingly, the striped parking locations can be moved at a later date
and impacting the sprinkler clearances. This application has robust concrete
construction and considered fire resistive. Thus, damage to the structure is not
likely with sprinkler protection. The beams in this structure also create bays that
will aid in activation of the sprinklers and contain the heat plume. The sprinkler
system should be able to cool upper layer gas temperatures, prevent flashover, and
control the fire. Sprinkler systems are designed to control the fire and allow time
for the responding fire service to finish the job. Since this application has cars
stacked that are not specifically addressed by the standard in effect, this is worth
discussing with the AHJ. As indicated by Section 1.5 Equivalency, alternative
arrangements are acceptable provided that the level of safety is not reduced. There is
no better source for supporting equivalency than a newer edition of the same

It was also believed that Danton had turned against the revolution. Danton was tried
and executed, leaving Robespierre with more power than ever before. He was now
the sole leader of the Reign of Terror; it was blatantly obvious he was the most feared
man in all of France.
Robespierre was the main person to implement the laws he put forth.[Footnote] He
believed in solving all his problems through violence. Those who were born to a
particular family, having certain opinions, or simply being at the wrong place at
the wrong time, would fall victim to him. Although Robespierre was obsessed
with violence, he never actually performed acts himself, unless assured he would

used to punish people was the guillotine. Robespierre used other methods at times;
he d burn, hack, stab, shoot, and even cannonade a person. Those he objected, or
had been his enemy would soon be imprisoned, and eventually executed. He was
relentless and ordered people dead with no trial, killing people without proving or
even knowing if they were truly guilty . He believed the mass murders he was
responsible for were justified.
If the spring of popular government in time of peace is virtue, the springs of popular
government in revolution are at once virtue and terror: virtue, without which terror is

Personal Statement on Chemical Engineering
To me, Chemical engineering encompasses change. The profession has impacted
the world on a huge scale. Since the invention of the plastic Bakelite in 1907,
chemical engineers utilized it and quickly found its uses in: clocks, electric sockets,
plastic jewelleries and even on the keyboard that I m writing on. Plastic has become
so widespread that we hardly notice it anymore yet it impacts the modern world
greatly. I want to revolutionize the world just like my predecessors and inspire a
generation to do the same.
Every engineer uses Mathematics, Physics and the art of Engineering to unravel
technical problems in the most efficient and safest way possible, but it is the
Chemical engineer that harnesses the power of chemistry and uses it on a broader
scale. Chemistry is the key to life, without it the world would cease to exist. It is for
this reason that I want to study chemical engineering. I find the subject to be exciting
because of the questions that often arise such as, How can we make this product
more economically viable and safe for day to day use? finding answers to questions
like these has greatly increased my enthusiasm for chemical engineering. The range
of scientific technicalities inherent in the profession has inspired me to wanting to
contribute to the field in my own unique way.
I currently take A levels in: Maths, Chemistry and Physics all of which test my
abilities as a student of science. For example, Physics is a challenging and satisfying

Artists would essentially hit two birds with one stone. The first bird was the
ability to simply perform their music. However the second bird isn t as simple as
the first, it is the meaning. The second was the protest against the Babylon system
and oppression. To the Rastafari, the Babylon system is any and all oppressive and
unequal practices in Jamaica. Babylon began to surface throughout reggae music.
Reggae lyrics are suggestive of the reggae protest songs. Bob Marley is a great
example of capturing his strong negative views of Babylon. Reggae protest songs
proved to be a force with power, both socially and politically. Ironically the Jamaican
government would use reggae as a vehicle to promote its views (King, xiv).
Reggae never lost and will never lose its association with music and the Rastafari
culture. It remains a revolutionary form of explanatory art. Music never remains
stagnate, it will always evolve. Roots reggae; a sub genre of Reggae, was
dominant in Jamaica in the cohort of 1975 1980. Roots reggae tackles the life of a
ghetto sufferer and discusses truths and rights (Barrow and Dalton, 129). Dancehall
and the incorporation of hip hop rhythms was the new addition of reggae.
Dancehall became widely used after the death of Bob Marley in 1981 (Barrow and

Analysis On Feeder Reconfiguration Problem
Feeder Reconfiguration is basically an optimization problem which has several

Optimization is a mathematical tool to obtain an optimized solution. There are
numerous techniques to solve an optimizationproblem where in each technique will

Around the age of 16, he was also able to work with a sculptor named Bertoldo di

great! Like Psychologist Carol Dweck says having a growth mindset you Believe
the harder you work, the better you can become . But then again, we have to have
realistic and do able goals not those that we will never complete. For my own goals,
I would like to learn any foreign language other than Spanish. I would also like to
gain more muscle and not fat, and ultimately I would like to achieve my most
important goalwhich is to get my bachelors in criminal justice. Learning a foreign

continuing with school. I joined college, because I don t want to suffer as much as my
parents did as they were young. This is why getting my bachelors is the ultimately
The Reasoning Behind Glow Sticks
Glow sticks are famous among many genders and ages, but the reasoning behind
the glowing factor is disregarded. A glow stick is composed of two tubes: a plastic
outer tube, and a glass vile within the plastic tube. Within the two chambers,
different chemicals and solutions are held, which are the explanation for the bright
outcome. Inside the plastic tube is a solution of phenyl oxalate ester and the
fluorescent dye used to create the final color of the glow stick, while the glass
cylinder contains hydrogen peroxide. Based upon color preference, the type of
fluorescent dye used varies. The glass container separates the two solutions,
preventing a chemical reaction before intended ( The Chemistry of Glow Sticks ).
The glass seal can be broken
Leadership Theory Of Leadership Theories
Leadership Theory Paper
Leadership Theories
During this course, the focus has been on leadership and the different theories of
leadership. There are either eight to ten leadership theories, depending on the
source. Those leadership theories describe different aspects of what it take to be a
leader and the skills and traits of people who are considered leaders. There are two
different sets of leadership theories. According to Cherry (2012), when it comes to
leadership theories, most can be classified as one of eight major types. Those eight
major types are called the Great Man Theories, Trait theories, Contingency Theories,
Situational theories, Behavioral theories, Participative theories, Management
theories, and Relationship theories. Those eight leadership theories are similar to the
ten leadership theories discussed by Zigarelli. According to Zigarelli (2013), There
are ten leadership styles that all have useful aspects to them, and the more that a
person learns about all ten theories, they better equipped they will be to become a
leader. The ten leadership theories are identical in some areas to the eight leadership
theories, but there are some differences. The ten leadership theories are the Great
Man Theory, The Trait Theory of Leadership, The Skills Theory of Leadership, The
Situational Leadership Theory, The Contingency Theory, Transactional Leadership,
Transformational Leadership, Leader Member Exchange Theory, and the Servant
Leadership Theory. After
Social Stress And Its Impact On The Classroom
Overview of Changes in this Resubmission I was delighted to receive
encouragement to resubmit this proposal and am extremely grateful to the five
reviewers for their insightful comments. I was gratified to read Reviewer 5 s
comment that the proposed activities are creative, original and potentially
transformative, and Reviewer 1 s comments that this research may lead to
theoretical advances in the understanding of stigma more broadly and that I am an
expert in this field and well suited to carry out the proposed research. Although
space limitations preclude me from detailing how I addressed every individual
comment, here I will summarize the major changes to guide the Panel s review. I
have kept the longitudinal study, which the entire Panel supported. In response to
the Panel s concerns about the experimental and speed dating studies, I have
dropped Studies 1 3 and replaced them with an experimental study that I have now
successfully piloted with 50 participants. This new study addresses Panel concerns
about the conceptualization of weight stigma and concerns that the manipulated
construct might have been general social stress or rejection rather than weight
stigma specifically. I have added a follow up point in the experience sampling study
to assess weight so as to test the entire model. I have taken to heart the criticism that
perceived overweight status is an imperfect selection variable; all studies now use
samples with BMI 25 ( overweight ) and above. Carefully
A Doll s House Figurative Language Essay
Henrick Ibsen in the play, A Doll s House implies that deception of marriage derived
from secrets can act as a poison that creates isolation and poses as a threat. Ibsen
supports his implication by providing examples through figurative language to
express the symbolism of the Tarantella dance and its relation to the characters, Nora
and Torvald, and their marriage. The author s purpose is to express Nora s violent
and aggressive movements during the Tarantella dance caused by anxiety and loathe
towards Torvald in order to show that the poison has consumed her and she is trying
to rid of it. The tarantella dance is a folk dance from southern Italy. Its name comes
from a small town in Italy called, Taranto. The dance has multiple rapid movements...

The word tarantella also relates to the group of arachnids belonging to the family
of spiders. The tarantella is known for its venomous composition and quick actions.
During the time the play was written the tarantella bite was common. Recent
mythology explains tarantism as an uncontrollable desire to dance. People started
to believe that the spider bite caused intractable movements, and the primary way
for cure was to dance until the body rid itself of the poison. Nora s poison aspired
from the secret forgery note that has been kept confidential from Torvald.
Moments before Torvald is to find out the secret, Nora becomes very anxious and
forces him to watch her practice the dance, stalling from the truth. Sandra Colella,
a current researcher on tarantism compares it to Nora s behavior in, A Doll s
House by saying, Tarantella, that Nora is forced to dance by the danger and the loss
of reference s points, is a desperate expression of her tragic interior condition, as we
understand from the wildness of her
Corruption Due To Power In George Orwell s Animal Farm
Power is one of the most desired things in the world, and is often hard to attain, but
once it is gained it can often corrupt a person. Corruption due to power is shown in
many instances in the book, Animal Farm. In the book, there is an opening for
someone to take control of the power, and the animals that do are the pigs. The pigs
gain the power for many reasons. When power is gained there are many things
people can do with it, either bad or good. The pigs actions in animalfarm show the
different ways that power can be used by those in charge.
Knowledge is the primary form of power that the pigs have and take advantage of.
Towards the beginning of the book this is shown when the pigs create a society in
which they are superior because of their intellect: but the pigs were so clever that
they could think of a way round every difficulty. As for the horses, they knew every
inch of the field, and in fact understood the business of mowing and raking far better
than Jones and his men had ever done. The pigs did not actually work, but directed
and supervised the others. With their superior knowledge it was natural that they
should assume the leadership. (pg. 27) This shows that the power is distributed
unevenly, and the pigs have much more because they are not working and think that
they are above that. the pigs not working shows their selfish and deceptive side, and
that they are trying to say they should not have to work because of their superior
knowledge. The pigs gained
The Pillowman Play Analysis
The Pillowman is a dark comedy written in 2003 by British Irish playwright Martin
McDonagh. First staged in 2007, The Pillowman returns to the stage, once again
deftly helmed by Tracie Pang and an incredible cast and creative team of the
company, Pangdemonium!; set design by Eucien Chia; lighting by James Tan, music
and sound by Darren Ng. The Pangdemonium s production at the Victoria Theatre
runs for 3 hours.
Martin McDonagh s The Pillowman is a dark drama that takes place in a nameless
totalitarian state. The play opens in a police interrogation room as two detectives,
Tupolski (Adrian Pang) and Ariel (Shane Mardjuki), question a man named Katurian
(Daniel Jenkins) about some violent child murders.
In the first act of The Pillowman, two ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ensuring that one scene does not anticipate, and hence betray another, Tracie Pang
s finely calibrated direction captures and sustains the rollercoaster extremes of
McDonagh s stories, evoking smiles that split into gasps, and laughter that
abruptly stops in its tracks. She understands that in a good story, one should never
be able to tell what will happen next. She must be something of an expert at
directing The Pillowman by now and sets the dark, ultraviolent tone right from the
start. It helped that Eucien Chia s multi layered set was so phenomenal, and
furthered the feelings of fear, anxiety and uneasy atmosphere. The set allowed for
some rapid changes, and I was impressed at the split second transitions between
scenes, and the detail that went into it. A single slide of a door would result in the
transformation from a police station to a storybook world and really immersed the
audience into the world with how elaborate it was. When the stories were being
staged, Pangdemonium! employed the use of MOJO Studios animation to bring them
to life, adding a new dimension to the storytelling process and an added layer of
Examples Of Salary And Demand In Finance
Salary and Demand in the Finance Industry
According to the U.S Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment opportunities for the
sector of business and financial operations has estimated a growth of 632,400 new
jobs, or an 8% rise from 2014 to 2024. In fact, the Bureau states that the median
annual wage for business and financial occupations in 2016 was 66,530, higher than
the median annual wage for all occupations of 37,040 (U.S. Dept of Labor). As a
future University of Houston Downtown graduate obtaining a bachelor of Business
Administration degree with a major in Finance and investment management, I hope
to be able to pursue a successful career within the financial field. Seeking a career in

In the following table (see table 1) we can further understand the projected salaries
and demand of someone who might want to pursue a job within the finance and
banking sector.
Table 1 Average national salary for various financial professionals in 2016 and 2017
and their expected job growth

Salary Guide
Note. Exact salary varies due to factors affecting actual pay such as benefits, company
size, experience, skills, certifications, and advanced education
Analyzing table 1, we can see that expected job growth from 2014 to 2024 for
analyst positions and lower to mid level employees to be 12%; much higher than
the estimated 7% national average growth of all occupations combined. In fact,
financial analysts are becoming one of the fastest growing jobs, especially as
more organizations are relying on data provided from information systems and the
demand for analysts to help provide insight and knowledge from this information.
Salary for financial analysts is also increasing with the demand for experienced and
qualified candidates as shown from the 4.1% increase of pay from 2016 to 2017. As
the job title flows down the table and the level of skills and education increases,
average pay rises to meet the level of work. However, we can also see that the % of
change of salary from 2016 to 2017 as one rises to upper level management is
decreasing. Additionally, job growth for

Character Analysis Essay Outline

  • 1. Character Analysis Essay Outline Crafting a Character Analysis Essay Outline can be a challenging endeavor that requires a deep understanding of the chosen character, insightful analysis skills, and the ability to structure your thoughts cohesively. The process involves delving into the complexities of a character's personality, motivations, and actions, and then presenting these insights in a well-organized manner. Firstly, you need to thoroughly acquaint yourself with the character in question, whether it be from literature, film, or any other medium. This requires careful reading, watching, or studying to grasp the nuances of the character's traits, relationships, and overall significance to the narrative. Understanding the character's background, experiences, and development over the course of the story is crucial. Once you have gathered sufficient information, the next step is to analyze and interpret the character's traits and behaviors. This involves exploring the motivations behind their actions, the conflicts they face, and the impact they have on the overall storyline. It is essential to go beyond surface-level observations and delve into the deeper layers of the character's psyche. Structuring the essay poses another challenge. Developing a coherent outline that logically presents your analysis requires careful consideration of the key aspects you want to highlight. From the introduction to the conclusion, each section should flow seamlessly, guiding the reader through your insights and interpretations. Balancing the analytical depth with clarity is a delicate task that demands attention to detail. Moreover, maintaining a formal and academic tone throughout the essay adds another layer of complexity. Finding the right words to express your thoughts while adhering to the conventions of essay writing can be challenging, especially when dealing with subjective interpretations of a character. In conclusion, the process of writing a Character Analysis Essay Outline demands a combination of research, analytical thinking, and effective communication skills. It is not merely summarizing the character's traits but delving into their psychology, motivations, and significance in the narrative. Success in crafting such an essay lies in the ability to navigate these challenges with precision and creativity. If you find yourself struggling with this task or any other academic assignment, assistance is available. • 2. Reaction Paper On Clint Eastwood Spurious Miscreant While many revere Clint Eastwood as an artistic wonder when it comes to directing, and having remarkable acumen when he pours himself into a role, not everyone shares such positive sentiments. There have been claims that Clint Eastwood s vigilant protection of his privacy is because he is a volatile, ill tempered man; who mirrors the violence and complete disregard of others in the roles he s undertaken. Some just have blatant disgust for his movies, the violence, the nasty treatment of women. Are these all things that lie secretly below the surface of this seemingly amiable man? First, let s talk about the treatment and the depiction of women in almost all of the movies that got Clint Eastwoodwhere he is today. I would like to start off with an excerpt written by Laura Mulvey, from an educational textbook titled, Visual Pleasure and Narrative Cinema: In a world ordered by sexual imbalance, pleasure in looking has been split between active/male and passive/female. The determining male gaze projects its fantasy on to the female figure which is styled accordingly, in their traditional exhibitionist role women are simultaneously looked at and displayed with their appearance coded for strong visual and erotic impact so that they can be said to connote to be looked at ness Women displayed as sexual object is the leit motiff of erotic spectacle: from pin ups to strip tease, from Ziegfield to Busby Berkeley, she holds the look, plays to and signifies male

Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What will it cost to shorten the project by as many weeks as possible? The project can be shortened by 6 weeks maximum. Based on the crash time for 6 activities (A3 A4 A7and B2 B5 B6), we can come up with the new numbers of weeks that each activity needs. According to the critical path we already found, we could see that B9 is an important activity. Once it was changed, B6 changed. So we also need to find how A5 B3 B8 changed. The crash of B5, B6 leaded to the change of A4 and A5 (17,21), so the crash of A3 is invalid; The crash of B2 leaded to the change of C5, so B8 became (18,22); B2 changed B3 to (11.21). Then the time of B9 changed to (22,30). Since the earliest time for B9 is 22 anyway, and we crashed B5, B6 for one week each to make it s final time 21, we could cancel B6 s crash for its higher cost. Then we finally crash A7 for 2 weeks. so the final time for A8 was 46 followed by calculating. The decade was also marked by the influx of African American athletes into the sporting world following Jackie Robinson s debut for the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1947. However, one would not realize the significance of African Americans in athletics by reading sports pages during the 1950 s. Hardiman Cureton, a decade later, had more luck than Robinson. He must have been ecstatic to be elected captain. However, to be called a Negro in the headline of an article written about an honor bestowed upon him must have felt like a slap in the face. Or maybe it didn t. Maybe he expected to be called a Negro because it was commonplace in 1950 s American society. The San Francisco Chronicle certainly portrayed it as such. The fact that this article even needed to be written says a lot about American society as a whole. Nowadays, it is fairly uncommon to find a college football team without a black captain. Back in 1955, the naming of a black captain was news. Maybe it was not news that people had an interest in reading, as evidenced by the article s short length and less than ideal page placement. • 7. My First Semester At The Ohio State University Essay If you can t make it better, you can laugh at it. I found this quote by American columnist Erma Bombeck about a month into my first semester at The Ohio State University. I liked it a lot. So much that I wrote it in sprawling letters on the dry erase board that I had been using to scribble my motivational quote of the week and I never erased it. I could not have known at the time how Erma s words would transform from something my roommate and I would say flippantly about bad first dates and failed quizzes, into a philosophy that would carry me through four years of studies and shape the person I am today. I needed laughter desperately during those first few months of college. My grades were bad, my family was in crisis, I felt friendless and alone and I did not know who I was or what I was doing. Those first few months felt like I was stumbling through a dark an unfamiliar room, looking for lamp to turn on. Stumbling through that darkness I eventually found myself in the basement of a university building auditioning for Fishbowl Improv. I had come to fishbowl auditions on a whim. Bijan, the boy who lived across the hall, told me I should try out with him, and so I did. Nobody was more surprised that I was when I got the call that I made it in. My time in fishbowl taught me more than I could have ever guessed there was to learn. Most of all, I learned that I hadn t been taking laughter seriously enough. Comedy feels like an instinct until you apply yourself to it.
  • 8. A Survey On Product Development Surveys 5. Surveys : Whenever we want to launch a new product to the market, it is very important to do market research with product development surveys. This kind of surveys help to know whether such a product will really work, long before you ve invested in a product launch. The survey is usually divided into two parts : Survey introduction: Creating the correct introduction is the most important part of developing a survey. Majority of potential respondents will decide whether or not to drop out of the survey based solely on the introduction. The introduction will set the tone for the rest of the survey. Without providing the correct information your respondents may feel uncomfortable or suspicious of the research study. So when you create your introduction, look at your survey from the perspective of the respondent. Remember, each respondent has to decide whether they are going to provide you with their personal information. The best advice is to try to predict if there are any concerns a respondent may have, and address them immediately in the survey. Always add the topic and purpose of the survey, expected time to complete it, a confidentiality statement, reward information if there is any and finally a thank you note. Survey questions: Good survey questions lead us to getting reliable responses that will help to achieve our product goals. The key points to remember while creating survey question are, always give respondents an option of I don t know as many
  • 9. Freedom of Choice in Steinbeck s East of Eden Essay Our circumstances do not determine our lives. Instead, our lives are determined by our choices. That is not to say that our lives are not impacted by the country in which we were born, the family which we were born to, or the tragedies which touched our lives. We are given a choice of how we respond to those things, and the power of choice means that the lessons and value of our lives is not determined by outside influences, but instead it is determined by our reaction to those influences. In the novel, East of Eden by John Steinbeck theorizes that all individuals have the freedom to make choices in order to triumph over evil. In contrast, Charles, his jealous brother, was a Cain figure. Adam s set of twins took on characteristics of good and evil also. Aron, the fair haired child, was considered the good son throughout most of the novel. He was his father s favorite and Abra s true love. The dark Cal, on the other hand, was jealous and mean. He believed throughout most of the novel that he was incapable of goodness and was condemned to the wickedness of his mother. Ironically, by the end of the novel, Cal became a good son and received his father s blessings. Through the teachings of Lee, the family servant, Cal had learned that he had the freedom to choose goodness over evil. Cathy, the twin s mother, insists that there is only evil in the world, and immersed herself into taking advantage of other people s flaws and weaknesses. Cathy also had that freedom of choice, but she always made the wrong decision and remained the totally evil character throughout the novel. People are better off believing that their lives are filled with choices. They do not get the luxury of blaming their circumstances on external factors. We all decide how we respond to life s challenges, and there are excellent examples of people all around us who have found ways to overcome the most difficult troubles of birth and life. At the end of the day, we all choose. This is a principle that should be reinforced

Third, COL Steele offered trophy knives as a reward for killing insurgents or exemplary service. Offering an award for exemplar service is a good idea but a reward based on insurgent kills is not. It further dehumanizes Iraqis and places an emphasis on killing over other mission objectives. Fourth, COL Steele did not communicate the Rules of Engagement (ROE) very well with his unit. His speeches emphasized his core principles of be precise; be lethal; be safe, but that caused his soldiers to believe that COL Steele wanted them to shoot instead of capture potential insurgents. Fifth, at the company headquarters, soldiers had posted a kill board that tracked the number of Iraqis killed during operations. This kill board represents the degree to which COL Steele s soldiers were dehumanized the Iraqis and were confused over the ROE. These issues would eventually lead to the war crime being committed during Operation Iron Triangle. A new commander taking over the unit following COL Steele s departure will have to establish a command climate that overcomes the current culture within the Rakkasans. The new commander must confer with his leadership team to determine what the issues are within the culture that leads to the unethical command. The first step should be to disseminate command climate surveys. The results of the command climate survey would help judge the extent to which soldiers assess the ethical situation

  • 28. Criterion-Related Validity Essay In this post, I will examine the relationship between SATs scores and student success in college through the lens of criterion validity. Since currently Higher Education institutions are focusing on ranking, now, more than ever, admissions requirements are becoming more strict, and heavier weight is being placed on SAT scores as a way determining quality students. Currently, SAT scores are used to determine whether a student will be successful in college. This shift is causing a great push to identify students of risk, and for more elite institutions, who should be admitted (Chronicle of Higher Education, 2017). Do to this shift, there is great emphasis placed on the SATs as an indicator of college success. The question that many student affairs professionals and educational leaders ask are, does this test accurately measure and show a relationship between test scores and outcomes? • 29. Aluminum Foils Before building the design that is best fit for the presentation, there was many models that had failed . To start off with, the first design to successfully float with 50 pennies for 20 seconds was Tyler s design that was built with two pop cans and two sheets of aluminum paper (one is used to wrap the cans while the other is used to make a cup to hold the pennies). However, when the group weighed this in class, it was around 31 grams, which is 4.5 grams overweight (the requirement is 26.5 grams). Seeing this, the group cut the top of both cans off, this decreased the weight and allowed the boat to meet standards. Sadly, since the opening was big, small amounts of water leaked in while tested, this made the group reconsider using this design in the final presentation. Following Tyler s design, Jalen created a design that had one pop can and aluminum foil wrapped around it, however, when Jalen tested this at home, it did not work. During this time, Claire made a design to Tyler s. Instead of using aluminum foil to wrap around the two cans, Claire poked two holes through both cans and used a metal strip (a strip of aluminum cut from a pop can) and connected the two cans. Knowing that it will be overweight, Claire cut both tops off.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Lastly, there is the group design, which has the advantage of disabling the water to cover its insides but a disadvantage of a higher number in the depth of the displaced area. To prove this, the group should test all three boats out during the presentation, this would help communicate the designs on each
  • 30. Distinction Between Meaning And Purpose With art as a medium through which the artist communicates knowledge to an audience, this knowledge has the potential to create meaning and purpose in our personal lives. When someone accepts the artist s claims as personal knowledge, he gains an understanding that is personally significant to his life. Meaning lies in the individual s personal interpretation of artwork he deems significant and accepts as personal knowledge. Conversely, the audience finds purpose in the knowledge an artist shares when they feel compelled to pursue a task inspired by the art and the artist s knowledge claims. The purpose of knowledge can appear as active support for or rejection of the artist s claims. Due to this distinction between meaning and purpose, knowledge then must be able to produce one without the other, thereby yielding the title s oversimplistic assumption that the whole point of knowledge must produce both, which limits the scope of knowledge s functions. The whole point of knowledge is not to produce meaning and purpose, as knowledge exists when producing only one, or when serving another function. The title assumes that knowledge is valuable, or worthy of accepting as personal knowledge, only if it produces meaning and purpose for our personal lives. This implies that an artist should create art only if the message is meaningful and purposeful to all audiences. However, this reduces the value of knowledge, which has greater potential in being personally significant through

The base requirement is Section 8.6.6.1 that indicates that the clearance between the deflector and the top of storage shall be 18 in. or greater. There are times where that is impractical where additional sprinklers have to be provided. This would require sprinklers to be placed on the four corners of the vehicle. Annex material A.8.5.6.1 addresses this clearance issue that states, The 18 in. clearance does not apply to vehicles in concrete parking structures. Since that is located in Section 8.5 General, this applies to all sprinkler types. Parking garages with low height ceilings and piping runs with dry pipe systems create clearance issues for the sprinklers even without car stackers. This usually involves higher vehicles such as large SUVs and vans. Even if the vehicle locations are initially specified and sprinklers are placed accordingly, the striped parking locations can be moved at a later date and impacting the sprinkler clearances. This application has robust concrete construction and considered fire resistive. Thus, damage to the structure is not likely with sprinkler protection. The beams in this structure also create bays that will aid in activation of the sprinklers and contain the heat plume. The sprinkler system should be able to cool upper layer gas temperatures, prevent flashover, and control the fire. Sprinkler systems are designed to control the fire and allow time for the responding fire service to finish the job. Since this application has cars stacked that are not specifically addressed by the standard in effect, this is worth discussing with the AHJ. As indicated by Section 1.5 Equivalency, alternative arrangements are acceptable provided that the level of safety is not reduced. There is no better source for supporting equivalency than a newer edition of the same installation

Those leadership theories describe different aspects of what it take to be a leader and the skills and traits of people who are considered leaders. There are two different sets of leadership theories. According to Cherry (2012), when it comes to leadership theories, most can be classified as one of eight major types. Those eight major types are called the Great Man Theories, Trait theories, Contingency Theories, Situational theories, Behavioral theories, Participative theories, Management theories, and Relationship theories. Corruption due to power is shown in many instances in the book, Animal Farm. In the book, there is an opening for someone to take control of the power, and the animals that do are the pigs. The pigs gain the power for many reasons. When power is gained there are many things people can do with it, either bad or good. The pigs actions in animalfarm show the different ways that power can be used by those in charge. Knowledge is the primary form of power that the pigs have and take advantage of. Towards the beginning of the book this is shown when the pigs create a society in which they are superior because of their intellect: but the pigs were so clever that they could think of a way round every difficulty. As for the horses, they knew every inch of the field, and in fact understood the business of mowing and raking far better than Jones and his men had ever done. The pigs did not actually work, but directed and supervised the others. With their superior knowledge it was natural that they should assume the leadership.
