RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
3.0 Introduction
This chapter presents the Research Method which divided into Research Design, Population and Sample,
Instrumentation , validity and reliability , Data Collection and Data Analysis . This research used
experimental design to investigate the factor and the ways to improve school discipline among students in
SMK Sultan Sallahudin Abdul Aziz Shah , Shah Alam .
3.1 Research Design
The design of this research is quantitative design . A factorial experiment design was used to investigate
the effects of three independent variables; namely, the factors of school discipline , the ways to improve
school discipline and the motivation to overcome school discipline ; on the dependent variable of school
discipline . This section will explain the factorial design with each of the independent variable having two
levels. The two levels of factors were low and high; the two levels of the ways to improve were low and
high ; and two levels of motivation were low and high. The factorial design is shown in Table 3.1.

population comprised of among teacher at that school . A total of 50 teachers were randomly selected as
a respondent. This research include varies ethnic such as like Malay, Chinese, Indian, and other and from
kind of gender. (Male and female).
3.3 Research Instruments
There were two instruments only in this research, namely background questionnaire to collect data on
background of respondent and questionnaire.
3.4 Procedure for Data Collection
The 50 respondent among teachers at SMK Sultan Sallahudin Abdul Aziz Shah , Shah Alam were called
to answer this research questionnaire at the staff room . They were briefed about the research and were
given the backgrounds questionnaire and the questionnaire. After brief about background of research, the
respondents start answering the questionnaire. A teacher were classified into two group who are male and
female. They are given at least 10 minutes to answer the questions. The section goes as we plan for it.

3.5 Procedure for Data Analyses
The data was divided to two part which is part one and part two. The part one explains about background
of the respondent. Firstly, we count the number of gender involves, and sort them into age . Secondly, we
divided the data to three main things according listed in research question (the factor , the ways to
improve and the motivation). We count it based on the data that we are received for respondent which is
divide it by part which include three main parts.
