Analysis Of Anton Chekhov s The Cherry Orchard
Ties that Bind In Russian writer Anton Chekhov s play, The Cherry Orchard, Chekhov tells the
story of a family in crisis and instability at the beginning of the 20th century. The family is about
to lose their beloved cherry tree orchard estate because they cannot pay the mortgage. The play,
written in 1904, only one year before the first Russian Revolution (1905 1907), is a rendering of
the social changes and reform that Russiawas experiencing. Chekhov died in 1904 just months
before the uprising called Bloody Sunday and was himself the grandson of an emancipated serf
(Marks, n.d.) In The Cherry Orchard, there are no riots or raised and clenched fists, but it is a
subtler reflection of the times, and the death and demise of the Russian aristocracy and the making
of a middle class. However, post slaveryor serfdom, the chains that bind humans are not always
visible. The way Chekhov portrayed the former serfs in his play seems to whitewash reality and
allow the audience to conveniently forget the past. Perhaps he did this with purpose. In
American film and literature, we took the same tack until the latter part of the 20th century. In
Chekhov s play and in America the help comes across as one of the family, free of the emotional
pain of the past and are portrayed as happy and willing to serve. The emotional slavery
represented in The Cherry Orchard is not limited to the former serfs but also includes the
aristocracy and middle class as well. In modern times, Chekhov s

Staff Training Research Paper
Personnel Shortages
The need for highly trained intelligence personnel has never been more important. A personnel
shortage at the Intelligence Training Branch has a negative impact on the Coast Guard. The effects
of this shortage are resulting in signs of burn out within the staff, the graduates are not receiving the
highest quality of training, and the instructor billets are becoming harder to fill. From a chief s
perspective staff burn out is a high priority issue. With the exception of the School Chiefs and
Deputy School Chief all instructions for both A and C School come from the same central pool.
IS A School is the only school on site designed this way. We are billeted for six petty officers.
However, we currently only have two. That leaves two chiefs and two petty officers to complete
81 training weeks per year. Some of these trainings are road shows and require two people to
travel. In addition to the regular work schedule, the chief s must be duty IS and OOD qualified. The
petty officers must be duty IS qualified. This is currently putting us in a one and four rotation for
duty IS. Unfortunately, this leaves minimal time for leave resulting in staff burn out. Due to the
demands of the training and duty schedule the curriculum is suffering. We are in a state of

111). The medium close up shot of Llewlyn and Carla Jean on the sofa in their very modest
trailer home, puts them perfectly in the frame together so that we get a sense of what their
relationship is like while they exchange simplistic teasing. The dialogue reveals that while
curious about what her man has been up to, Carla Jean also accepts the fact that he is in control
and always has their best interest at heart even if he refuses to elaborate on his prior activities.
The overhead shot 3 of Llewelyn and Carla Jean while they lie in the bed, moves to the left and
into a close up that allows us to be able to process the day s excursion along with him. The
weapons in this movie are characters themselves as the useage of extreme close ups are
exercised on them as much as the actual actors. Whether it is Churgh s unique air pressure gun
or Llwelyn s handcrafted sawed off, we get to know each weapon intimately before it is used to
annihilate what is in front of it. At every turn, we rally for Llewlyn s success. We know he is just
trying to get by with his simple but naturally beautiful wif, Carla Jean. We can t imagine his luck

In The Scottsboro Trial
The American judicial system is designed to have equal and fair trials. The 14th amendment
abides with that and has made it so everyone receives just trials. Today s society and judicial
system have definitely improved from the past in regards to racism, however, in some cases
blacks continue to get convicted and charged without solid or any evidence, solely taken on the
word of skeptical or influenced witnesses. Yet, in recent years, science and technology have
developed and allowed our legal system to exonerate many innocent people. Sadly, in the past,
many blameless people suffered the death penalty from these false accusations. Racial bias and
prejudice in the American judicial system are displayed in the Scottsboro Boys case, Harper Lee s...

As the US Supreme Court ordered retrials of the boys because of a violation of the fourteenth
amendment, granting the right to proper legal counsel. Then, between 1931 and 1937, there were
a series of retrials and appeals. Differing from one another, three of the boys admitted to
committing rape, while the other six denied it. The stupidity of the trials continued with lack of
evidence and unfair juries. Medical reports show that there were no lacerations, tears of rough
handling on the women, however yes they did recently have intercourse (Linder, Doug). Also
Bates testified that Price had pressured her into blaming the boys so they would not get in trouble,
but her words were not used as evidence (Scottsboro Boys Trials). The jurors were only whites, as
racism was an issue during this time, making all of the hearings unjust. Eighty years after the court
cases, the final of the boys got pardoned, with the boys serving time in jail, the judicial system is
showing change. Even though the boys were punished for a crime they did not commit, it resulted
in two landmark supreme court decisions , those being that defendants be tried by juries of their
peers and the other requiring that destitute defendants receive proficient

Transfer Your Car Essay
You may own a rarely used, but old vehicle and are considering passing your car down to a son or
a daughter, perhaps to a newly licensed grandchild. Transferring ownership can provide much
needed transportation for someone else, but is it always a good idea to offer them your car? We ll
take a look at your options, including selling, donating or even scrapping your aged vehicle.
Condition and Practicality
The first consideration in passing your car down has everything to do with its condition. Unless the
old car has been faithfully maintained, the needed repairs may be too much for the recipient to
handle.
It might not be a problem if the recipient is handy, likes working on cars, and can still procure the
required parts. A no longer made... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The recipient would then combine those funds with her own to buy another vehicle.
Donate Your Car
Instead of passing down your car, you might consider donating it to a charity. And not to just any
charity, but one where you can qualify for a tax deduction.
According to the IRS, only donations made to 501(c)(3) organizations will allow you to claim a
tax deduction. You should know that you can only claim the fair market value of the car. This
means that even if the vehicle has a book value of $1,200, its outstanding repairs may mean it is
only worth $650. If you choose to donate anyway, you must obtain a written acknowledgment from
the charity if the total donation is $250 or more.
Scrap Your Car
If your vehicle is in poor shape and is of no interest to a loved one or a charity, you might
consider having it scrapped. Serious problems for an aged vehicle include a slipping transmission,
a blown head gasket, a failed air conditioning system, or exhaust system problems, especially a
broken catalytic converter. Any one of these problems may cost more to fix than your automobileis
worth. Certainly passing your car down or donating it are not sufficient options

The Sirens Of Titan Essay
Over the course of Kurt Vonnegut s career, an unorthodox handling of time became one of many
signature features in his fictional works (Allen 37). Despite The Sirens of Titan (1959) being
only his second novel, this trademark is still prevalent. When delving into science fiction, it is
often helpful to incorporate ideas from other works within the genre. This concept is exemplified
by the megatext, an aspect of science fiction that involves the application of a reader s own
knowledge of the genre to a new encounter (Evans xiii). By working within the megatext, Ursula K.
Le Guins The Dispossessed(1974) provides an insightful avenue in exploring the handling of time
and its consequences in Vonnegut s The Sirens of Titan

An interesting structural feature to note is that each chapter is preceded by a quotation from that
chapter. This is not unlike a prophecy and resembles Rumfoord s abilities. This use of chapter
quotations as well as the looping of the narrative could be interpreted to reflect Rumfoord s
perception of time in that everything that ever has been always will be, and everything that ever
will be always has been (20). There is also a significant amount of foreshadowing in that the novel
is essentially outlined during Malachi s first meeting with Rumfoord.
In The Dispossessed, time can be thought of in either a Sequential or Simultaneous manner. The
Sequential school of thought is the more concrete, familiar version in that time flows in a linear
progression. Simultaneity considers this linearity as not...a physically objective phenomenon,
but as a subjective one (Le Guin 221). Shevek, the protagonist, makes use of an apt comparison
to further describe the concept: It would be a little like reading a book, you see. The book is all
there, at once, between its covers. But if you want to read the story and understand it, you must
begin with the first page, and go forward, always in order. So the universe would be a very great
book, and we would be very small readers. (221)
According to Shevek, where Sequence falls short is its inability to

Chick fil A as the chief follower of the founder. He is also the founder of creative followership.
He is driven by influencing people that are interested in advancing their careers and wants to
share his experiences and wisdom with them. Mr. collins was willing to share some of his
stories and experience with us. Not all of the stories were happy endings or the pretty picture we
sometimes try to portray to people. He stressed the importance of telling your own story. When
you tell your own story, you are able to do it with passion and emotion. You can feel it out for
those listening. I have always been somewhat afraid of telling people my whole story, because I
never know how they will react or treat me after. But, the reality is, my story has power, the
power to influence. My story is my own, and no one can change it. I was inspired by how
transparent Mr. Collins was with telling his story, he was inspiring and motivational. As
Christians, it is our job to witness and love others, our stories have power and they are one of the
easiest ways to relate to others and build God s kingdom. Mr. Collins shared the best career advice

Why Nations Fail By Daron Acemoglu And James Robinson
Why Nations Fail Book Report In Why Nations Fail, Daron Acemoglu and James Robinson show
that economic development is about more than just economics. Through a wide variety of natural
experiments ranging from Latin America, to Sub Saharan Africa, to East Asia, they argue that it is
institutions, both political and economic, that differentiate a country s economic success.
Specifically, they separate institutions into inclusive and extractive. Inclusive political institutions
engage the entire population, while extractive political institutions are ruled by an elite minority.
Similarly, inclusive economic institutions promote property rights and competitive markets, while
extractive economic institutions create monopolies and funnel wealth to the elite minority. The
novel part of their thesis is the idea in order to have sustainable inclusive economic institutions, a
country must first have inclusive political institutions. It is only when a country has inclusive

Daron Acemoglu and James Robinson do an incredible job of simplifying a complicated topic for a
general audience. They address most major counterarguments and provide in depth and convincing
stories from history that support the importance of inclusive institutions. However, when you
simplify a topic, it is much more difficult to make rigorous arguments. Additionally, Acemoglu and
Robinson s framework for analyzing development fails to account for India and China. Therefore, it
was successful in analyzing past economic development, but largely fails to predict future
development. Nevertheless, it is indisputable that inclusive institutions are much more beneficial
for an entire population than extractive institutions. Researchers and advocates just need to
remember to look at the entire economic picture of a country, instead of only one indicator when

Don Quixote Journey
Believe it or not, I was once a legendary knight errant by the name of Don Quixote. I travelled
across the Spanish province of La Mancha with my loyal squire, Sancho Panza, in search of
adventures, beautiful ladies, and princesses to whom I can offer my knightly services. I was a
bold and valiant knight. My greatest and most memorable adventure, perhaps, is my encounter
with the giants of the plains of La Mancha who had thousand of arms. The battle which ensued
was so glorious that whoever hears of it strangely accuses me of being a madman. However, after
my forced retirement from being a knight errant, I fell ill and during my last hour I realized that
all my adventures were indeed hallucinations and my greatest adventure was simply a comical duel

It is the easiest and most effective way to acquire new information, radical ideas, useful concepts,

Of Studies , wrote something similar when he said that, Reading maketh a full man, By that he
meant reading gives us a solid foundation in a world where one can only advance himself socially
and economically when he has a wealth of knowledge and information at his disposal.
Yet I believe that the most beautiful thing about reading is that it develops and sharpens our
imagination. It is because of this sole fact that I chose to devote my life to reading. When we read
books, especially novels; the plot, characters, and settings, are all visualized within our heads. You

Chlorpromache Research Paper
This week I learnt about chlorpromazine, which is an antipsychotic. It is also used in short term
management of anxiety, agitation or disturbed behaviour in non psychotic disorders.
Chlorpromazine is an antagonist of many receptors, which include О±1 adrenoceptor, M3
muscarinic receptor, H1 Histamine receptor, 5HT2 receptor, dopamineD2 receptor and angiotensin
II AT1 receptor. This illustrates one of the pharmacology principles, which is selectivity of a
drug. A highly selective drug ( clean drug ) binds to only one receptor or molecular target whereas
a drug having low selectivity ( dirty drug ) will bind to many targets in the body. Binding upon
many receptors can produce many effects but some effects are not desired. For example,
chlorpromazine... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Morphine mimics endogenous opioids and activates opioid receptors in the central and
peripheral nervous systems. Opioid receptors are G protein coupled receptors which are coupled
to Gi protein. Upon binding of morphine to opioid receptors, it triggers the inhibition of
adenylate cyclase enzyme and ultimately stops the firing of impulses for nociceptive
information. After repeated activation of opioid receptors by morphine, some receptors can be
desensitised and binding of morphine to these receptors can no longer stops the
neurotransmission. As a consequence, tolerance to morphine develops. When a drug is used
repeatedly over time, tolerance can develop as the body adapts to the presence of the drug in the
body. Therefore, a higher dose is required to achieve the same desired effect. For example, for
morphine, if tolerance develops, a higher dose is needed in order to attain the same analgesic
effect. Moreover, one of the adverse effects of morphine when it is used for long term to relieve
pain is physical dependence. Dependence develops as a result of tolerance, leading to a resetting of
homeostatic mechanisms that require the continued presence of drug for normal function.
Therefore, if chronic treatment is stopped suddenly or an antagonist is given, withdrawal symptoms
such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, sweating, anxiety can

A Summary of William Shakespeare s Henry IV Part 1
Henry IV, Part 1 William Shakespeare is considered the most important playwright of the
European Renaissance, if not the most important of all time. Each character in his collected
works is uniquely defined and highly memorable. In Henry IV, Part I, Shakespeare writes about
the struggle for the control of England during the time of the title king. Everything is in turmoil
following his ascension to the throne and his legacy is in question because of the perceived
personality of his successor to the crown. Not only does he endeavor to maintain his control of
the throne, but also vying are his son Hal who wants to takeover after his father and the rival
Hotspur who wants it for himself but also is representative of an entire faction of people who
want to rebel against Henry IV and do not feel loyal to him. Each of these men believes himself
to be rightfully entitled to become the king and this is a major theme that play out throughout
the play, namely what it means to be worthy of the title King of England; being king is far more
than a matter of luxury and power, it is a burden that only worthy men should be allowed to
undertake. For the current ruler of England, King Henry IV, he believes himself entitled because
of what he was willing to do in order to obtain the throne. The former king, Richard II, was
murdered and his chosen heir passed over by the zealous Henry. This perception of him as a
usurper of the throne spreads out to those who had once supported him. Hotspur

The Importance Of Keeping Secrets
Over the years, many individuals have kept secrets to themselves, whether it becomes a negative
or positive outcome. Everyone has secrets, it s all around us. Your brain doesn t like to keep
secrets since it increases the levels of stress hormones in your body. Many think that secrets should
not be kept hidden because it can result in health problems such as complications in your brains
orbital prefrontal cortex. Keeping secretsusually results in a harmful way. It s not easy to keep
something important from the people you care about without telling a few lies. It s better to
confess your secrets as a result of feeling confident and not having to hide any information. Telling
the truth is generally a better thing to do instead of keeping secrets which leads to unnecessary
amounts of drama.
Keeping secrets are harmful because your health can be at risk due to high amounts of stress
levels which places you in a difficult position. For example, in the article, Keeping Secrets Can
Be Hazardous To Your Health , it says, your brain s orbital prefrontal cortex stimulates in your
mind just how bad sharing the secret will be ... the cortex becomes stressed. This quote is relevant
because it shows that your brain won t function in a proper way due to all the stress you re
experiencing. Keeping the secret private for a long time will cause severe damage to your brain and
mental health. Furthermore, in an article, Science Shows Something Surprising About Adults Who

An Urgently Needed Immigration Reform Essay

resulted to arguments pertaining the number of immigrants moving to the U. S. Arguably, the
policy that has been put in place is not effective in realizing the intended function. Therefore, there
is a need for a change in the policies that affect the immigration of citizen into the U.S. As such,
this paper seeks to present the proffered policies that would help a great deal in modelling of
immigration reforms in the U.S with retrospect to various aspects affecting it. Illegal immigrants

Arguably, when the immigrants are not capable of invoking the labour and employment rights,
there is an experienced decline in the employment laws. As such, it implies that the worker may be
subjected to violations that amount from wage and hour violation. Therefore, passing essential
border security, Immigration Modernization Act will help a great deal in fixing the problem.
Reforms Securing of entry points on the border There can be no effective reforms that can be put
in place if the borders are not secured from illegal immigrants. As such, after the United States
controls the borders, should the Congress consider temporary worker initiative. Securing the border
would entail various aspects that would necessitate for additional frontline border patrol,
technological enhancement, the inclusion of fences or barriers in some locations, as well as, the

Religion s Reflection in Architecture
How have architectural styles reflected the philosophies, religions, and politics of various cultures
throughout history?
I would like to focus my discussion on religion s reflection in architecture and hope it will not be
too lengthy.
Religion forms the foundation of cultural identity and has decisively shaped world civilizations
based on differing, but not exclusive, views of ultimate value: mercy and benevolence in Buddhism,
morality and ethics in Confucianism, respect in Shintoism, devotion and mystical unity of divine
Self in Hinduism, obedience and perseverance in Judaism, love for the Creator and one s
fellowman in Christianity, and submission to the will of Allah in Islam.

The product of two streams of development, one in the Mediterranean and the other in south central
Asia, Muslim architecture is fundamentally centered upon worship. At its heart is the mosque,
whose characteristic domes, minarets, and stylized decorative art encouraged contemplation and
prayer.
After the destruction of the Temple and dispersal of Jews from Israel in 70 C.E., Judaism focused
on family ritual and synagogues that housed prayer sanctuaries which faced Jerusalem. By the
fifth and sixth centuries, many Arabs respected the non sexualized symbols of Judaism, its ascetic
monotheism, and the Jewish devotion to family life and education. The Arabs called the Jews
People of the Book, and Jews and Arabs lived side by side in peace.

Development of Personal Computers
The Development of Personal Computers
The history of the computer goes back hundreds of years. From the abacus through the modern era
the evolution of computers has involved many innovative individuals. It was out of this desire to
innovate many fascinating tabulating machines developed. The modern computer, therefore,
evolved from an amalgamation of the genius of many individuals over a long period of history.
Many people shaped the world by making the efforts to develop technology.
An early counting machine (and relative of the computer) can be traced back to 3000 BC. This
device is known as the abacus. Although ancient, the abacus is not archaic. It is still used in math
education and in some businesses for making ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She was among the only female mathematicians of her time ( Computer ). Her suggestion that
punched cards be used as a type of simple programming for the Analytical Engine earned her the
title the first computer programmer (Long and Long 35C). In addition, the United States
Department of Defense honored Byron by naming its high level security program Ada , in 1977 (
Byron ).
In 1890 a man named Herman Hollerith devised a machine to speed up census taking (Long and
Long 35C). Hollerith was born in 1860 in Buffalo, New York, and was educated at Columbia
University ( Hollerith, Herman ). With the aid of a professor he got a job helping with tabulation
of the 1880 census, a process that took eight years (Long and Long 35C).
After experiencing the 1880 census Herman devised a Tabulating Machine in order to speed the
1890 census. This machine used cards encoded with data in the form of punched holes. The
machine read the punched holes after they were passed through electrical contacts ( Hollerith,
Herman ). Closed circuits, which indicated hole positions, could then be selected and counted (qtd.
in Hollerith, Herman ). Hollerith s Tabulating Machine cut the time it took to do the census to
under three years and saved the Census Bureau 5 million dollars (Long and Long 35C). In addition,
the machine represents the first use of punched cards as a set of operation instructions, an idea
originating with Jaquard and perpetuated by the

My Observation Of My Observational Assignment
For my observational assignment I chose the first option which was to observe children or
adolescents. The two children that I observed were about three years old. It was one male and
one female. The children were playing with each other in a play area at a shopping mall. The
two children would spend a few minutes engaged in the same activity, but then would break up
to play individually. The personality traits that I noticed about the little girl was that she seemed
to be extremely out going. She did not appear to be afraid of anything. The little girl was very
loud, and bold, and made her presence known. It also seemed as though she would run away
from her mother, rather than sticking close by as instructed to. The little boy on the other hand
seemed to be quite the opposite. He seemed a little bit more reserved, maybe even shy. The little
girl seemed a bit bossy instructing the boy on what to do. I noticed that when she demonstrated
this behavior, it prompted the separation and they played individually. This however only lasted a
few moments and the children were back to playing with one another. I did notice that after some
time the little boy seemed to loosen up his shyness and begin to act more outgoing like the little
girl. This leads me to believe that his behavior is influenced more so by his environment than his
genetics. It is possible to say that he is genetically predisposed to be more reserved, but
environmental factors can influence him to become a more

A New Optimization Technique And The Foraging Strategy Of...
In 2002, a new optimization technique was proposed by Passino which is inspired by the foraging
strategy of Escherichia Coli (E. Coli) bacteria present in human intestines called Bacteria Foraging
Optimization Algorithm (BFOA) [1]. It is a population based stochastic search algorithm that has
been introduced to solve the problem related to optimizationand control system. Since its
inception, BFOA successfully has drawn the attention of many researchers from diverse fields to
exploit its performance as a high performance optimizer and has been successfully applied in real
world applications such as optimal power control [2], image processing [3], jobs scheduling[4], [5]

By sending the signal, it enables an individual bacterium to communicate with others. Healthy
bacteria will be reproduced and poor foraging bacteria will be eliminated. The bacteria will keep
repeating these processes in their lifetime.
In BFOA, each of the individual bacteria in the search space is representing an individual solution
to the optimization problem [6]. Each bacterium will undergo chemotactic steps to the direction of
minimum fitness function (rich in nutrients). During the taxis, each bacterium will communicate
with other to swarm in the group toward the global optimum. Bacteria will be evaluated again
according to their health and sorted in ascending order. Half of them with better health will be
reproduced by splitting into two and the other half of poor health bacteria will be eliminated from
the search space. In order to explore more space, some of the bacteria will be eliminated and
reinitialized randomly to explore unvisited space in order to find the global minimum or maximum
point. For better understanding, this algorithm mechanism will be explained in solving an
optimization problem.
In optimization problem that we need to find the minimum of J(Оё), Оё в€€ в„

have measurements or an analytical description of the gradient ∇J(θ). This problem is
considered as a non gradient optimization problem. BFOA does not rely on the gradient function to

The Importance Of Reading Comprehension
student has mastered these five components, the path to reading comprehension has become
strengthened. So in order to move towards using additional strategies to continue strengthening a
student is reading comprehension of more complex text.
The goal for our students is to make meaning of what they are reading across the curriculum and in
all content areas. We want them to read text effectively and with ease using strategies that are
student centered. We need to teach our students to think while they are readingto strengthen their
comprehension skills (Farr Conner, 2017). We can do this by insuring students have a strong
background in basic skills (Pressley, 2017). These skills are decoding, vocabulary building, word
knowledge, and active comprehension strategies (Pressley, 2017). Monitoring their comprehension
will also allow for future growth (Pressley, 2017). Students cannot understand the words in a text if
they cannot read the words (Farr Conner, 2017). The first step to developing good reading
comprehension is through decoding. Decoding is a very vital part of reading comprehension, but it
is not enough on its own (Shanahan, 2017). When we teach our students to decode proficiently, we
are opening the doors for better understanding of the text and ultimately better comprehension.
Through decoding, the student will learn the sounds of the letters in the words and this will lead to
recognizing words more often within the text. Through the decoding process, student

Object To Me Research Paper
If someone was going to ask me how I would represent myself with four objects, I would
probably have to take a day or two to think about it. Since I ve already done that, I am now going
to explain these four items to you. The things I chose, with difficulty, were a picture of me with
three of my brothers, a sketchbook I ve been looking for for a while, my phone (a most prized
possession) and a mason jar filled with pretty trinkets. I think these would be the objects that
would best describe me. First, I have a picture of me with three of my brothers at the zoo in

Childhood Onset Schizophrenia And Its Effects
One of the most debilitating, devastating, and incurable mental disorders is one that is plagued by
severely abnormal functions, disturbed behaviors and the likelihood to seriously diminish nearly
all functionality of life this disorder is known as schizophrenia. While extremely rare,
schizophrenia can develop in childhood, sometimes as young as two to four years. This is referred
to as childhood onset schizophrenia(COS). Childhood onset schizophrenia is a severe form of
psychotic disorder that occurs at age 12 years or younger and is often chronic and persistently
debilitating (DSM 5). By a vast number of psychologists and other medical professionals, it is
believed to be just as virulent and malicious as adolescent and adult schizophrenia. The DSM 5
criteria for child onset schizophrenia requires at least two of the following five symptoms to be
present for no less than a month, and at least one of these must be (1), (2), or (3): (1) delusions,
(2) hallucinations, (3) disorganized speech, (4) grossly disorganized or catatonic behavior, and (5)
negative symptoms. Other criteria must include: a significantly lower level of functioning in other
areas, such as work, interpersonal relations or self care; the persistence of signs of disturbance for
at least 6 months, including at least 1 month of symptoms that meet one of the five symptoms; the
ruling out of schizoaffective disorder and depressive or bipolar disorder; and the exclusion of
substance abuse or another medical

##k Of Relationships In Sinclair Ross s The Painted Door
Relationships, one of the key factors of the advancement of humanity. We all are surrounded by
relationships, some may be easier to identify than others. But one relationship which stands out
greater than the rest is the one between a married couple. These people are usually from completely
different families and unite together to decide to spend the rest of their lives together. But
sometimes the relationship does not work out. We can witness this in Sinclair Ross s short story
The Painted Door, in which Ann a farmer s wife who has cheated on her husband John, which has
brought the end of Johns life and ultimately the end of their relationship. It is arguable that the
reason behind Ann cheatingand bringing the end to their relationship arguably is isolation,
neglection and lack of understanding, but what is the root cause of all these problems in their
relationship? The answer is simple lack of communication. Thus, it is the lack of communication
which has caused isolation, neglection and the lack of understanding of each other in the
relationship, resulting in the failure of the relationship.
One of the effects of the vicious poison of relationships known as lack of communication creates a
side effect of isolation. Isolation is a position in which any human will make mistakes which they
may greatly regret in the near future. This is exemplified when Ann is isolated at home and ends
up cheating on John with Steve. After she has betrayed John she realizes of her

Key Theory
Many traits seem to be synonymous with leadership such as intelligence, personality, supervisor
ability, etc. However, managers and true leaders support their decisions and realize that there is
no exact step by step process to the answer. To compare with the Vroom Jago Leadership model
Gene utilized most of his decisions Group decision styles (the group makes the decision; you as
the leader are just another team member). Group (G) decisions were made throughout the film,
acted equally alongside his co workers in working the problem by helping calculate trajectories
and formulate solutions. Also, the Path Goal model was visually displayed when Gene came up to
the chalkboard, drew the course for the Apollo 13 crew from the moon s atmosphere back to earth.
Successful Leadership
Successful leadership was realized after Gene Kranz and the Houston controlled was informed of
the explosion on the Apollo spacecraft. At this point in the film he begins his journey into
transformational leadership. Through intellectual stimulation he helps his team rethink rational
ways oxygen can be saved using items available on the spacecraft. Also, he reminds them of the
contingent reward by reminding each team member of the goal to save the astronauts lives and take
control of the situation by mapping out what must be done to receive the outcome they desire.

There are numerous factors that may cause a girl to begin her period early. Those factors are:

These actions by the government can eventually lead to a revolution because the government is
being unfair and unjust to its citizen. Furthermore, the prime minister isn t admitting his

revolution in Book 1, Chapter 5: The Wine Shop and Book 2, Chapter 7 9. Everyone nearby had

Theme Of Autolycus In The Winter s Tale
Shakespeare, in The Winter s Tale, invents Autolycus as an implementer of satire, playing a
fundamental function in the context of the play as the counterpoint, however playful, to the first
act. Furthermore, Autolycus serves as the chief instrument for the introduction and advancement
of comedic themes and acts of trickery as a rogue, thief and master of masks. Therefore, as the
implementer of satire, Autolycus furnishes as a crucial counterpoint to the play, which warrants
his significance in relation to the play in its entity. As the passage of time marks its quick
ascent, the sudden shift from winter to spring and youth into age is marked by the passage of
Autolycus as he enters the play singing. When the daffodils begin to peer, with heigh, the doxy
over the dale, why, then comes in the sweet o the year, for the red blood reigns in the winter pale
(Act IV, Scene 3, Lines 1 4). Autolycus not only signals the shift from tragedy to comedy, but
emphasizes the juxtaposition from winter to spring; a time of rebirth. Therefore, Autolycus serves
as the epitome of transformations as the play sharply diverges from the common, albeit serious,
tales of tragedy to a shift of miraculous harmony. Moreover, Autolycus continues to contradict the
social hierarchies, according to historical sources, placed during Shakespearean period as well as
the characters. Autolycus stated, I have served Prince Florizell and in my time, wore three pile, but

Crime Scene Investigation Of The National Forensics Academy
The National Forensics Academy was full of multiple dimensions of crime scene investigation that
I had not even thought about nor learned about in the past. The world of crime scene investigation
is interesting to me because of all these aspects and because they are ever changing, and new and
better methods are being discovered. Throughout the academy I learned about these aspects in
detail and how there are various methods within each aspect. The aspects that I learned were how to
photograph a crime scene, finger printing, foot impressions, crime scene sketches, bloodspatter
analysis, bullet holes, bones, and digging up a grace to recover a body. These aspects work
together to investigate and recreate crime scenes.
A part of crime scene investigation that I had never put much thought into was the photography.
Taking photos of everything at a scene and the methods of how to photograph scenes are
important in working a scene. I had never had the opportunity to work with the type of cameras
that we used at the academy and I was unaware of the work that goes into photographing a

Currently the use of multimedia such as sound, still images, moving images are all used in all
website to make their content more interesting and to make the design of the website
aesthetically pleasing, interesting and easy to read. Therefore, it is a necessity to think how
accessible of the content of the website is, this is called web accessibility which accommodates
all the users, such as those with disabilities, normal users, or elderly. This is particularly
important for those with disabilities, websites should be made with consideration for this group
and the content and services should be made accessible as equal as those normal users (Henry,
2006). Carter and Markel (2001) found that only 1% of web developers pay attention to the
accessibility of the website, this is because most web developers believe that to make the website
accessible a lot of resources would be required, such as times and money. Currently, there are many
websites being developed and more users using. When websites are designed without any

The Road Networks Across China Essay
The map below shows an overview of the road networks across china. It is clearly understandable
from the graph that eastern part of China is mostly covered through a huge networks and
channels of roads and highways. Contrarily, the western parts of China are still to be developed
though roads and highway networks. The differences are based on the fact that the eastern parts
being close to the sea act as the main hub for transportation of tradable goods as most of the
transportation is carried out through the sea routes and harbors. The freight of tradable goods has
increased enormously in recent years and thus the economic activities and burden on the harbors
and hubs have also increased to a huge extent. As a result, the need for utilization of other means of
transportation network in order to support and bridge the increased pressure on the sea port is on
top priority for the government of China.
The figure below represents summary of the main transportation routes across China:

Sigmund Freud Interpretation Of Dreams Research Paper
Every individual dreams; however, some people are affected more than others. Dreams are
sequences of images, ideas, emotions, and sensations that occur involuntarily in the mind during
certain stages of sleep. Most occurring during rapid eye movement or REM when brain activity is
high and resembles being awake. Many believe that dreams are a connection to an individual s
subconscious. Sigmund Freud, a scientist in the early 1900s performed extensive studies on dreams,
including their interpretation, why they occur, and what they indicate. In addition, people have
done studies to see the connection between dreams and certain sleep disorders. Sleep is a state of

Total sleep deprivation longer than forty hours proves impossible; however, due to brief periods
of micro sleep, it is possible to function properly longer ( Sleep ). Micro sleep represents the body
s obvious need for sleep. Even though it only lasts for a couple of seconds, it can have some
restorative function to the body, but individuals cannot survive on this; they need a full night s
rest ( Sleep ). Losing more than one night s sleep produces a noticeable increase in irritability,
lethargy, disinterest, and even paranoia. An individual s psychomotor performance and
concentration are also affected and eventually immunological functions suffer. Newborns sleep
as many as seventeen hours a day, whereas five year olds average about twelve hours a night (
Sleep and Sleep Disorders ). For some reason, many people experience the best and most satisfying
sleep of their lives during the middle teen years ( Sleep and Sleep

Compare And Contrast River Valley Civilizations
All of the Early River Valley Civilization have contributed in a good variety of ways. The three
empires (Egypt,Sumer, and Indus) are similar in their own contributions.
The biggest similarity the three civilizations had were record keeping. Sumer had created a
system called cuneiform. Egypt developed a system of writing called hieroglyphs. The indus
developed a written language made up of 400 symbols. Record keeping was very important to all
three civilizations because they needed recording events for taxes, wars, and religious texts which
was a success for each culture civilization. So the three Early River Valley civilizations used a
written language that helped them effectively. Another similarity the three river valley civilizations
had in common was that they all believed in the same thing. The three civilizations were
polytheism. Polytheism means that you believe in many gods. The egyptians had believed in over
2,000 gods and that there was a god for every temple. The sumerians believed that each god had
there own city they would watch over. The indus believed the government was controlled by god
and hinduism. Polytheism was powerful in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Alaska Tsunami Research Paper
Alaskan wave tsunami 1958
On July 9th 1958 in Lituya bay Alaska, an earthquake indirectly caused what has been termed as a
mega tsunami. The earthquake caused a landslide which in turn displaced enough water to create a
gravity wave. The height of this wave was magnified above the height that might normally be
expected due to the enclosed environment in which it generated. The world s biggest tsunami the
Alaskan wave. This tsunami happened because of an earthquake. The earthquake happened in
southeastern Alaska, it was called the significant earthquake. The earthquake was caused by a
shifting of the fair weather fault. The fair weather fault is a transform fault close to the Lituya
Bay. This fair weather fault is very special because it has the ability to shift oceanic crust. When
ocean crust begins to shift tsunami can begin to happen. This earthquake was so large that is what

Three people died on Khantaak Island at the mouth of Yakutat bay when the beach they were
standing on subsided 100 feet below sea level. The other two died when their boat was sunk by
the tsunami at Lityua bay. Two other boats also were anchored in the bay that night; those four
people managed to ride out the wave. Two were rescued from dinghy after their boat sank; the
others managed to pilot out of the bay on their own power, but at great risk, as the water continued
to swirl unpredictably, and was littered with millions of tree trunks that had been ripped from the
banks. After the tsunami happened scientist had flown out there and discovered that there had been
tsunamis there before. They had to wait at least three weeks before flying out there for safety
reasons. They found evidence that this tsunami had destroyed all of the other ones. Scientist were
puzzled for some time by the sheer size of the wave, because they could not identify a mechanism
that could have created such a massive

The Big Lebowski Analysis
After hearing about The Big Lebowski years back from a fellow sailor while stationed in Pearl
Harbor and how he enjoyed going to The Lebowski fest, I ve wanted to watch this movie and
now that I have I regret not watching it sooner. I have to say that this movie quickly became one
of my favorites while John Goodman s character Walter reminded me of many of my military
friends. The Big Lebowski is full of some great laughs and many, many quotable moments. I will
say that after hearing from multiple friends that this was a great movie I was a bit skeptical
because I m not that big of a fan of the films that the Coen brothers direct, they just aren t my cup
of tea. However, after giving this movie a chance I loved it. It actually made me want

The Ill Made Knight, By. White Reworks Lancelot Essay
In The Ill Made Knight, T.H. White reworks Lancelot, a major player in Arthurian legend. But he
also reworks a central pillar of the myth: Christianity. Faith is treated in different ways in the
book, but it is never a sure thing, never tangible. Whereas Malory, ChrГ©tien de Troyes, and the
Cistercian Quest all kept God firmly interwoven with the tale, White is unable to do so because
of his anxieties. He wants to believe that there is an active, loving God, but he cannot reconcile it
with events in his own time. He is struggling with a classic religious dilemma: how can God be
loving and merciful if he tolerates evil, especially on such a scale as World War II?
As an example of White s apprehensions, he keeps the description of anything holy as vague, or
refers the reader to Malory: If you want to read about the beginning of the Quest for the Grail,
about the wonders of Galahad s arrival...if you want to read about these, you must seek them in
Malory. That way of telling the story can only be done once. (White 436) Also of note is the odd
narrative device of bringing the Quest to us. The reader is never out in Gramarye, looking for
adventures, but has the aftermath brought to them, in the retellings of Gawaine, Lionel, and
Aglovale. This serves to keep them at a distance, interposing another narrative layer between the
events and the reader.
The quest itself is first conceived of by Lancelot as a diversion, a way for the Table to not revert to

  • 3. Analysis Of Anton Chekhov s The Cherry Orchard Ties that Bind In Russian writer Anton Chekhov s play, The Cherry Orchard, Chekhov tells the story of a family in crisis and instability at the beginning of the 20th century. The family is about to lose their beloved cherry tree orchard estate because they cannot pay the mortgage. The play, written in 1904, only one year before the first Russian Revolution (1905 1907), is a rendering of the social changes and reform that Russiawas experiencing. Chekhov died in 1904 just months before the uprising called Bloody Sunday and was himself the grandson of an emancipated serf (Marks, n.d.) In The Cherry Orchard, there are no riots or raised and clenched fists, but it is a subtler reflection of the times, and the death and demise of the Russian aristocracy and the making of a middle class. However, post slaveryor serfdom, the chains that bind humans are not always visible. The way Chekhov portrayed the former serfs in his play seems to whitewash reality and allow the audience to conveniently forget the past. Perhaps he did this with purpose. In American film and literature, we took the same tack until the latter part of the 20th century. In Chekhov s play and in America the help comes across as one of the family, free of the emotional pain of the past and are portrayed as happy and willing to serve. The emotional slavery represented in The Cherry Orchard is not limited to the former serfs but also includes the aristocracy and middle class as well. In modern times, Chekhov s ... A personnel shortage at the Intelligence Training Branch has a negative impact on the Coast Guard. The effects of this shortage are resulting in signs of burn out within the staff, the graduates are not receiving the highest quality of training, and the instructor billets are becoming harder to fill. From a chief s perspective staff burn out is a high priority issue. With the exception of the School Chiefs and Deputy School Chief all instructions for both A and C School come from the same central pool. IS A School is the only school on site designed this way. We are billeted for six petty officers. However, we currently only have two. That leaves two chiefs and two petty officers to complete 81 training weeks per year. Some of these trainings are road shows and require two people to travel. In addition to the regular work schedule, the chief s must be duty IS and OOD qualified. The petty officers must be duty IS qualified. This is currently putting us in a one and four rotation for duty IS. Unfortunately, this leaves minimal time for leave resulting in staff burn out. The Coen Brothers adaptation of the novel written by Cormac McCarthy is a multi genre, visual buffet about a man s strength of will and dedication. It s about death, fate and American violence. It is set in 1980 and centers around the chaos of questionable decision making and killing without a purpose or at the very least killing without ethics. The medium close up shot of Llewlyn and Carla Jean on the sofa in their very modest trailer home, puts them perfectly in the frame together so that we get a sense of what their relationship is like while they exchange simplistic teasing. The dialogue reveals that while curious about what her man has been up to, Carla Jean also accepts the fact that he is in control and always has their best interest at heart even if he refuses to elaborate on his prior activities. The overhead shot 3 of Llewelyn and Carla Jean while they lie in the bed, moves to the left and into a close up that allows us to be able to process the day s excursion along with him. The weapons in this movie are characters themselves as the useage of extreme close ups are exercised on them as much as the actual actors. Whether it is Churgh s unique air pressure gun or Llwelyn s handcrafted sawed off, we get to know each weapon intimately before it is used to annihilate what is in front of it. At every turn, we rally for Llewlyn s success. We know he is just trying to get by with his simple but naturally beautiful wif, Carla Jean. Today s society and judicial system have definitely improved from the past in regards to racism, however, in some cases blacks continue to get convicted and charged without solid or any evidence, solely taken on the word of skeptical or influenced witnesses. Yet, in recent years, science and technology have developed and allowed our legal system to exonerate many innocent people. Then, between 1931 and 1937, there were a series of retrials and appeals. Differing from one another, three of the boys admitted to committing rape, while the other six denied it. The stupidity of the trials continued with lack of evidence and unfair juries. Also Bates testified that Price had pressured her into blaming the boys so they would not get in trouble, but her words were not used as evidence (Scottsboro Boys Trials). Transferring ownership can provide much needed transportation for someone else, but is it always a good idea to offer them your car? We ll take a look at your options, including selling, donating or even scrapping your aged vehicle. Condition and Practicality The first consideration in passing your car down has everything to do with its condition. Unless the old car has been faithfully maintained, the needed repairs may be too much for the recipient to handle. It might not be a problem if the recipient is handy, likes working on cars, and can still procure the required parts. A no longer made... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... And not to just any charity, but one where you can qualify for a tax deduction. According to the IRS, only donations made to 501(c)(3) organizations will allow you to claim a tax deduction. You should know that you can only claim the fair market value of the car. This means that even if the vehicle has a book value of $1,200, its outstanding repairs may mean it is only worth $650. If you choose to donate anyway, you must obtain a written acknowledgment from the charity if the total donation is $250 or more. Scrap Your Car If your vehicle is in poor shape and is of no interest to a loved one or a charity, you might consider having it scrapped. Serious problems for an aged vehicle include a slipping transmission, a blown head gasket, a failed air conditioning system, or exhaust system problems, especially a broken catalytic converter. Any one of these problems may cost more to fix than your automobileis worth. Certainly passing your car down or donating it are not sufficient options ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. The Sirens Of Titan Essay Over the course of Kurt Vonnegut s career, an unorthodox handling of time became one of many signature features in his fictional works (Allen 37). Despite The Sirens of Titan (1959) being only his second novel, this trademark is still prevalent. When delving into science fiction, it is often helpful to incorporate ideas from other works within the genre. This concept is exemplified by the megatext, an aspect of science fiction that involves the application of a reader s own knowledge of the genre to a new encounter (Evans xiii). By working within the megatext, Ursula K. Le Guins The Dispossessed(1974) provides an insightful avenue in exploring the handling of time and its consequences in Vonnegut s The Sirens of Titan . This... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An interesting structural feature to note is that each chapter is preceded by a quotation from that chapter. This is not unlike a prophecy and resembles Rumfoord s abilities. This use of chapter quotations as well as the looping of the narrative could be interpreted to reflect Rumfoord s perception of time in that everything that ever has been always will be, and everything that ever will be always has been (20). There is also a significant amount of foreshadowing in that the novel is essentially outlined during Malachi s first meeting with Rumfoord. In The Dispossessed, time can be thought of in either a Sequential or Simultaneous manner. The Sequential school of thought is the more concrete, familiar version in that time flows in a linear progression. Simultaneity considers this linearity as not...a physically objective phenomenon, but as a subjective one (Le Guin 221). Shevek, the protagonist, makes use of an apt comparison to further describe the concept: It would be a little like reading a book, you see. The book is all there, at once, between its covers. But if you want to read the story and understand it, you must begin with the first page, and go forward, always in order. So the universe would be a very great book, and we would be very small readers. (221) According to Shevek, where Sequence falls short is its inability to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Mr. Collins describes his role at Chick fil A as the chief follower of the founder. He is also the founder of creative followership. He is driven by influencing people that are interested in advancing their careers and wants to share his experiences and wisdom with them. Mr. collins was willing to share some of his stories and experience with us. Not all of the stories were happy endings or the pretty picture we sometimes try to portray to people. He stressed the importance of telling your own story. When you tell your own story, you are able to do it with passion and emotion. You can feel it out for those listening. I have always been somewhat afraid of telling people my whole story, because I never know how they will react or treat me after. But, the reality is, my story has power, the power to influence. My story is my own, and no one can change it. I was inspired by how transparent Mr. Collins was with telling his story, he was inspiring and motivational. • 15. Why Nations Fail By Daron Acemoglu And James Robinson Why Nations Fail Book Report In Why Nations Fail, Daron Acemoglu and James Robinson show that economic development is about more than just economics. Through a wide variety of natural experiments ranging from Latin America, to Sub Saharan Africa, to East Asia, they argue that it is institutions, both political and economic, that differentiate a country s economic success. Specifically, they separate institutions into inclusive and extractive. Inclusive political institutions engage the entire population, while extractive political institutions are ruled by an elite minority. Similarly, inclusive economic institutions promote property rights and competitive markets, while extractive economic institutions create monopolies and funnel wealth to the elite minority. The novel part of their thesis is the idea in order to have sustainable inclusive economic institutions, a country must first have inclusive political institutions. They address most major counterarguments and provide in depth and convincing stories from history that support the importance of inclusive institutions. However, when you simplify a topic, it is much more difficult to make rigorous arguments. Additionally, Acemoglu and Robinson s framework for analyzing development fails to account for India and China. Therefore, it was successful in analyzing past economic development, but largely fails to predict future development. Nevertheless, it is indisputable that inclusive institutions are much more beneficial for an entire population than extractive institutions. Researchers and advocates just need to remember to look at the entire economic picture of a country, instead of only one indicator when making decisions about economic ... I travelled across the Spanish province of La Mancha with my loyal squire, Sancho Panza, in search of adventures, beautiful ladies, and princesses to whom I can offer my knightly services. I was a bold and valiant knight. My greatest and most memorable adventure, perhaps, is my encounter with the giants of the plains of La Mancha who had thousand of arms. The battle which ensued was so glorious that whoever hears of it strangely accuses me of being a madman. However, after my forced retirement from being a knight errant, I fell ill and during my last hour I realized that all my adventures were indeed hallucinations and my greatest adventure was simply a comical duel between I and windmills. Chlorpromazine is an antagonist of many receptors, which include О±1 adrenoceptor, M3 muscarinic receptor, H1 Histamine receptor, 5HT2 receptor, dopamineD2 receptor and angiotensin II AT1 receptor. This illustrates one of the pharmacology principles, which is selectivity of a drug. Morphine mimics endogenous opioids and activates opioid receptors in the central and peripheral nervous systems. Opioid receptors are G protein coupled receptors which are coupled to Gi protein. Upon binding of morphine to opioid receptors, it triggers the inhibition of adenylate cyclase enzyme and ultimately stops the firing of impulses for nociceptive information. After repeated activation of opioid receptors by morphine, some receptors can be desensitised and binding of morphine to these receptors can no longer stops the neurotransmission. As a consequence, tolerance to morphine develops. When a drug is used repeatedly over time, tolerance can develop as the body adapts to the presence of the drug in the body. Therefore, a higher dose is required to achieve the same desired effect. For example, for morphine, if tolerance develops, a higher dose is needed in order to attain the same analgesic effect. Moreover, one of the adverse effects of morphine when it is used for long term to relieve pain is physical dependence. Dependence develops as a result of tolerance, leading to a resetting of homeostatic mechanisms that require the continued presence of drug for normal function. Therefore, if chronic treatment is stopped suddenly or an antagonist is given, withdrawal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, sweating, anxiety can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 19. A Summary of William Shakespeare s Henry IV Part 1 Henry IV, Part 1 William Shakespeare is considered the most important playwright of the European Renaissance, if not the most important of all time. Each character in his collected works is uniquely defined and highly memorable. In Henry IV, Part I, Shakespeare writes about the struggle for the control of England during the time of the title king. Everything is in turmoil following his ascension to the throne and his legacy is in question because of the perceived personality of his successor to the crown. Not only does he endeavor to maintain his control of the throne, but also vying are his son Hal who wants to takeover after his father and the rival Hotspur who wants it for himself but also is representative of an entire faction of people who want to rebel against Henry IV and do not feel loyal to him. Each of these men believes himself to be rightfully entitled to become the king and this is a major theme that play out throughout the play, namely what it means to be worthy of the title King of England; being king is far more than a matter of luxury and power, it is a burden that only worthy men should be allowed to undertake. For the current ruler of England, King Henry IV, he believes himself entitled because of what he was willing to do in order to obtain the throne. The former king, Richard II, was murdered and his chosen heir passed over by the zealous Henry. This perception of him as a usurper of the throne spreads out to those who had once supported him. The two children that I observed were about three years old. It was one male and one female. The children were playing with each other in a play area at a shopping mall. The two children would spend a few minutes engaged in the same activity, but then would break up to play individually. The personality traits that I noticed about the little girl was that she seemed to be extremely out going. She did not appear to be afraid of anything. The little girl was very loud, and bold, and made her presence known. It also seemed as though she would run away from her mother, rather than sticking close by as instructed to. The little boy on the other hand seemed to be quite the opposite. He seemed a little bit more reserved, maybe even shy. The little girl seemed a bit bossy instructing the boy on what to do. I noticed that when she demonstrated this behavior, it prompted the separation and they played individually. This however only lasted a few moments and the children were back to playing with one another. I did notice that after some time the little boy seemed to loosen up his shyness and begin to act more outgoing like the little girl. Each bacterium will undergo chemotactic steps to the direction of minimum fitness function (rich in nutrients). During the taxis, each bacterium will communicate with other to swarm in the group toward the global optimum. Bacteria will be evaluated again according to their health and sorted in ascending order. Half of them with better health will be reproduced by splitting into two and the other half of poor health bacteria will be eliminated from the search space. So in order to move towards using additional strategies to continue strengthening a student is reading comprehension of more complex text. The goal for our students is to make meaning of what they are reading across the curriculum and in all content areas. We want them to read text effectively and with ease using strategies that are student centered. We need to teach our students to think while they are readingto strengthen their comprehension skills (Farr Conner, 2017). We can do this by insuring students have a strong background in basic skills (Pressley, 2017). These skills are decoding, vocabulary building, word knowledge, and active comprehension strategies (Pressley, 2017). Monitoring their comprehension will also allow for future growth (Pressley, 2017). Students cannot understand the words in a text if they cannot read the words (Farr Conner, 2017). The first step to developing good reading comprehension is through decoding. Decoding is a very vital part of reading comprehension, but it is not enough on its own (Shanahan, 2017). When we teach our students to decode proficiently, we are opening the doors for better understanding of the text and ultimately better comprehension. Through decoding, the student will learn the sounds of the letters in the words and this will lead to recognizing words more often within the text. Through the decoding process, student ... It is arguable that the reason behind Ann cheatingand bringing the end to their relationship arguably is isolation, neglection and lack of understanding, but what is the root cause of all these problems in their relationship? The answer is simple lack of communication. Thus, it is the lack of communication which has caused isolation, neglection and the lack of understanding of each other in the relationship, resulting in the failure of the relationship. One of the effects of the vicious poison of relationships known as lack of communication creates a side effect of isolation. • 40. Two Cities Revolution Before the arrival of the French Revolution, more than 40,000 people were killed during a period known as The Reign of Terror and thousands were terrorized. What is a revolution? According to the Merriam Webster Dictionary, It is the usually violent attempt by many people to end the rule of the government and start a new one. During the course of 4 weeks, I was given the task to research revolutions and make a presentation on it by using internet sources and in class books. After that period, I have learned that revolutions are caused by corrupt governments, social injustice, and nationalism. No one likes a government that is corrupt. It causes frustration, uprisings and questioning by the citizens. A very good example of a dishonest country is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These actions by the government can eventually lead to a revolution because the government is being unfair and unjust to its citizen. Furthermore, the prime minister isn t admitting his wrongdoing which can also be a factor in causing a revolution. Another key point is that in the novel A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens, Dickens intelligently illustrates the coming of a revolution in Book 1, Chapter 5: The Wine Shop and Book 2, Chapter 7 9. Everyone nearby had stopped what they were doing and ran to drink the spilled wine. He tossed a gold coin on the ground for the driver to pick up, and everyone leaned forward to watch it as it fell. The tall man cried out again desperately, He s dead! Small signs of their poverty were everywhere. They were taxed by the state, by the church, and by the lord. The first piece of evidence tells the reader the suffering and hardship that the peasants are going through which will eventually cause them to revolt. In the second part of the evidence, He refers to the Marquis. There are two significant parts during this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Through benchmarking, new ways can be implemented for elimination of the duplicate effort mandated by the current process. These benchmarking initiatives and others will provide the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services the innovation it needs for ensuring that it achieves the cycle time goals by reducing the cycle time for processing the petitions for alien relative as much as it can. Any productivity enhancement demands a carefully monitored and planned process for ensuring that national security issues and the integrity of the process are not compromised in any manner. Further, efforts aimed at reducing cycle times and eliminating backlogs will eventually help in furthering national security and facilitating the goals of the DHS. New Proposed Process Narrative Changes should be made to the current process for filing and adjudication of the petition for alien relative. The proposed process should primarily be implemented with an intention of reducing the time that American citizens are kept apart from their immediate relatives who are expected to remain outside the borders of the United States for processing of the immigrant visa application and during the adjudication of waivers of inadmissibility. • 43. Theme Of Autolycus In The Winter s Tale Shakespeare, in The Winter s Tale, invents Autolycus as an implementer of satire, playing a fundamental function in the context of the play as the counterpoint, however playful, to the first act. Furthermore, Autolycus serves as the chief instrument for the introduction and advancement of comedic themes and acts of trickery as a rogue, thief and master of masks. Therefore, as the implementer of satire, Autolycus furnishes as a crucial counterpoint to the play, which warrants his significance in relation to the play in its entity. As the passage of time marks its quick ascent, the sudden shift from winter to spring and youth into age is marked by the passage of Autolycus as he enters the play singing. When the daffodils begin to peer, with heigh, the doxy over the dale, why, then comes in the sweet o the year, for the red blood reigns in the winter pale (Act IV, Scene 3, Lines 1 4). Autolycus not only signals the shift from tragedy to comedy, but emphasizes the juxtaposition from winter to spring; a time of rebirth. Therefore, Autolycus serves as the epitome of transformations as the play sharply diverges from the common, albeit serious, tales of tragedy to a shift of miraculous harmony. Moreover, Autolycus continues to contradict the social hierarchies, according to historical sources, placed during Shakespearean period as well as the characters. Autolycus stated, I have served Prince Florizell and in my time, wore three pile, but now I am out of service (Act 4, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Crime Scene Investigation Of The National Forensics Academy The National Forensics Academy was full of multiple dimensions of crime scene investigation that I had not even thought about nor learned about in the past. The world of crime scene investigation is interesting to me because of all these aspects and because they are ever changing, and new and better methods are being discovered. Throughout the academy I learned about these aspects in detail and how there are various methods within each aspect. The aspects that I learned were how to photograph a crime scene, finger printing, foot impressions, crime scene sketches, bloodspatter analysis, bullet holes, bones, and digging up a grace to recover a body. These aspects work together to investigate and recreate crime scenes. A part of crime scene investigation that I had never put much thought into was the photography. Taking photos of everything at a scene and the methods of how to photograph scenes are important in working a scene. I had never had the opportunity to work with the type of cameras that we used at the academy and I was unaware of the work that goes into photographing a picture. Before taking a photo one must adjust the settings including the F stop, ISO, and shutter speed of the camera. In order to take a picture of a moving object you must adjust the shutter speed so it can capture the image clear in its state of movement. Also leaving the shutter speed open for a long time can capture very clear photos of a still object if the camera is placed on a tripod. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is clearly understandable from the graph that eastern part of China is mostly covered through a huge networks and channels of roads and highways. Contrarily, the western parts of China are still to be developed though roads and highway networks. The differences are based on the fact that the eastern parts being close to the sea act as the main hub for transportation of tradable goods as most of the transportation is carried out through the sea routes and harbors. The freight of tradable goods has increased enormously in recent years and thus the economic activities and burden on the harbors and hubs have also increased to a huge extent. • 54. The Ill Made Knight, By. White Reworks Lancelot Essay In The Ill Made Knight, T.H. White reworks Lancelot, a major player in Arthurian legend. But he also reworks a central pillar of the myth: Christianity. Faith is treated in different ways in the book, but it is never a sure thing, never tangible. Whereas Malory, ChrГ©tien de Troyes, and the Cistercian Quest all kept God firmly interwoven with the tale, White is unable to do so because of his anxieties. He wants to believe that there is an active, loving God, but he cannot reconcile it with events in his own time. He is struggling with a classic religious dilemma: how can God be loving and merciful if he tolerates evil, especially on such a scale as World War II? As an example of White s apprehensions, he keeps the description of anything holy as vague, or refers the reader to Malory: If you want to read about the beginning of the Quest for the Grail, about the wonders of Galahad s arrival...if you want to read about these, you must seek them in Malory. That way of telling the story can only be done once. (White 436) Also of note is the odd narrative device of bringing the Quest to us. The reader is never out in Gramarye, looking for adventures, but has the aftermath brought to them, in the retellings of Gawaine, Lionel, and Aglovale. This serves to keep them at a distance, interposing another narrative layer between the events and the reader. The quest itself is first conceived of by Lancelot as a diversion, a way for the Table to not revert to Might for its own sake: If ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
