1. CHANGES AT SCHOOL - FINAL RESULTS
After the first Comenius year, when all students had worked on the things they wanted to change in their schools, the results arrived.
The purpose of this activity was to really change their schools in order to improve them, and each country worked in many different ways to achieve
their goals.
Some other aims were:
● To help students talk about education
● To develop students’ reading skills
● To expand students’ vocabulary
● To develop students’ speaking and listening skills
In the following report, there are explained all the ideas and activities done by all the Comenius Project partners.
In addition, seeing that most of the students did the same activity in their schools, we designed a poster with some steps to follow to make changes in
schools, in order to help other schools to do this activity as well in the future.
2. ● CHANGES IN DIMOTIKO SXOLEIO POLISITOU, POLISITOS (GREECE):
First, in the classroom the children decided on the changes they want for the school.
Then, they wrote down their wishes and they handed them to the Headmaster.
Some of the results were:
a) We planted a lot of trees in the school yard. b) We asked the Municipality for a recycling bin.
3. c) The Parents Association bought us a projector. d) We organized a library in the 6th grade class
e) We made a pedestrian crossing out of the school. f) We bought some musical instruments.
4. ● CHANGES IN SZKOLA PODSTAWOWA Nr 171 STANISLAWA STASZICA, WARSZAWA (POLAND):
After many activities, each class wrote a script to shoot a film about the change needed,and with the help of the teacher council assistant they made
short clips, in order to present ideas during debate with the headmaster.
Then, there was a debate with the headmaster, representatives of Parents' Council and School Council with our students. The results of the
questionnaire were displayed for all students to see in the hall before the meeting. The teacher assistant made a presentation summarizing the work of
the Pupil's School Council. A part of the presentation was designed to help students introduce their ideas and arguments and it included video clips.
Representatives of each class 4-6 referred to the discussions made with students. The Pupil's School Council brought 3 ideas that had been chosen at
the council meetings. All arguments were presented well.
The results of the debate were:
1. Students will have a break with audiobook again during cold and rainy days when they do not go out. The library would provide some more
audiobooks taking into consideration pupil's suggestions.
2. The toilets in the school will be redecorated. Students do not have to paint them but they will make a campaign promoting appropriate behaviour.
3. A quiet place to sit and read will be found and some seats will be provided. Students themselves will have to control the order in this place.
4. The headmaster will introduce the idea of installing some sports equipment outside to the mayor of out town.
5. More classrooms will be equipped with interactive boards, especially an English language classroom.
5. ● /2nd Year/ student's iniciative - Coctail Bar - with the cooperation of the Parent's Council, all students could have a fruit coctail this day, it was
prepared and served by the student's council
● /2nd Year/ After discussion with the mayor about disgusting graffities everywhere in town, we were offered ... our sports hall wall. All partners
took part in graffiti competition, most of their works were interpreted and found its place
● More interactive whiteboards! - This’s a new one in our language
● Open air gym - apart from the one close to school we got 3 pieces for the use in the school
6. ● CHANGES IN SCHOOL MIHAI VITEAZUL NO. 29 CONSTANTA (ROMANIA)
The activity was conducted in four stages.
First, pupils achieved a box in which to put their written opinions about what they like and what they want to change their school.
Secondly, students, teachers and parents expressed their opinion about what they like and what they want to change in their school.
In the third stage, they read opinions both Comenius meeting by Professor Carmen Badea and Pupils Council – the president student Aschenderian
Alexandra.
The most numerous issues were:
● the homework
● classes with video and computer equipment
● laboratory equipment
● creation of a park
● the establishment of a circle of theater
● a music room
● more extracurricular activities.
In the fourth step, we analyzed in the Teachers Council what can be done, what material means, in what time frame.
Pupils landscaped part of the schoolyard greening and planting flowers and making a little park.
With the support of parents committees were purchased computers and projector into 7 classes and we will continue this action.
The extracurricular activities were improved in the “A different School “ period from April (an example on Etwinning is Mixbook from II C).

8. ● CHANGES IN ESCOLA BASICA PROFESSOR ALBERTO NERY CAPUCHO, MARINHA GRANDE (PORTUGAL)
After sharing ideas and opinons in class, portuguese students decided the following things:
1- To write some school's rules in the stairs in order to remember them and to achieve better school daily coexistence.
2- To have a theatre room to reharse some plays.
3- To have more games painted in the playground. These ones were painted during the meeting in Portugal and each one is a typical from a Comenius
partners countries.

10. ● CHANGES IN INSTITUTO COMPRENSIVO N.6 COSME TURA, FERRARA , (ITALY):
1. Discussion with a group of kids (9 years) on what school spaces had to be modified.
Apart from some comments on situations of "degradation" of the building, it was noted the underuse of a large hall, once used as computers lab.
2. Many consideration have been done. Firt of all, the idea of reusing those spaces to make a small theatre or a movie theater for all the students.
3. Those considerations were written and made to read in all classes in order to have their opinions and add comments. Among others, it was
highlighted the theater could have been used for both activites and, at the same time, used as a meeting room.
4. We wrote a letter to the Dean, to formalize the request. The letter was welcomed and we were asked what would be needed. We replied that,
beyond the authorization to intervene, the most urgent and quite expensive thing was a video projector.
5. By the time, has been freed most of the space and found a platform that gave the feeling of a small stage. After a short period, we have been
given the projector
6. So, we could keep, in May, the first Review CinemINA, with a film selection chosen by teachers based on the age of the audience.
7. At present, many renovations works are still going.
In this classroom was placed the photo exhibition "All the colors of Barco" (born in Comenius Project) after exposure in the local library.
8. In his classroom we also did concerts, meetings with experts from outside the school, rehearsal for shows of different classes and, in November,
we had a meeting with 50 students and the Minister of Education to discuss the changes needed in the district.

12. ● CHANGES IN KIRAZLI SEYIFI ORHON ORTAOKULU, INSTANBUL , (TURKEY):
After asking our students about what they would change in our school, we did the following changes:
a) The desks and doors were so old and the students wanted to have
them changed. Our principal asked to the municipality and had them
changed.
b) The students wanted to have a box for the dead batteries.the box
was sent by the municipality and the students painted them.
c) The students made a charity for the poor students and collected the
stationery and clothes they don’t use and we took them to the mayor.

d) The students wanted to wear clothes ınstead of unıforms and they
made a manıfest by wearıng them once a week.they wrote letters to
the prıncıpal .
13. e) The students wanted a more green place and they planted trees.
We arranged a plantıng day for them.
f) The students wanted to have more trıps and we told theır wıll to
our headmaster. We took them to the zoo.
14. ● CHANGES IN ESCOLA MONTAGUT, VILAFRANCA , (CATALONIA):
First, we asked our students to imagine and describe their ideal school.
Then, in groups, they discuss their ideas and the way they could change their own schools by themselves.
After that, they shared their opinions with the other groups, explaining the strenghts and weeknesses of each idea and they vote for the best ones.
Finally, some students from each course had a meeting with the school’s Principal and agreed in change the following things:
