How can recyclable materials be transformed into Art to
save the planet?
OBJECTIVE
How can I encourage my tenth graders to improve their
speaking and writing skills and develop their artistic
creativity by transforming recyclable materials into Art
using MODAL VERBS?
STRATEGY
Promote collaborative learning teamwork “realize how
plastic bottles, bags and all recyclable material can
become useful to protect the environment; Ss can lead
written and oral campaigns to transform plastic into Art in
an exhibition at school.

of taking care of the flora and fauna.

company to recycle, reuse and reuse the plastic.

STEPS
 Ss will get a register of sequenceof photos since Ss start
the project until the project is totally done. They will
create their time line, schedule, blog.
 Use videos, articles related recycle, reduce and reuse
(plastic, bags, paper) Feb- 4,5,6.
 Contact Sanar Fundation for a conference or speech
about recycling, and how to contribute to reduce and
reuse plastic, bags and paper. Feb. 11,12,13

 Discuss about Global warming, using videos and
pictures. Ss will be organized in groups of four, Ss have
to look for causes and consequences about it, Ss will use
Modal verbs. Feb. 18,19,20
 Organize groups of four students, they will A DRFT in
order to design a ICT presentation, in order to be aware
about Global warming, and possible solutions to stop
GW. Ss will use modal verbs Feb. 25, 26, 27
 Ss. Will do the presentation about how to contribute to
recycle, reuse and reduce plastic, bags, and paper.
March 4,5,6
 Ss will be organized by groups to promote a campaign
about recycling, reduce and reduce plastic, bags, and
paper at schoolweekly. Posters, talks, (classroom,radio
station, events at school) March-2019
 Ss will be organized in groups 3 or 4, thy will select
recyclable material in order to design a DRAFT ART
MODEL, or a recyclable material to be reused into a
useful object, it will help Ss to visualize and lead a
potential functionalbusiness to be done in Colombia and
other countries. April 1-3
 Ss will write and describe the materials and the purpose
of the objectthey have chosen for the ART MODEL. April
4-5

 Ss will do the presentation about the ART Model, they
will describe the design and its purpose, in English
classes. April 22-26/2019
 Ss will design a draft of an ecological stand and ICT
presentation about the purpose of the ART Model. MAY
2-3/2019
 Ss will write and describe the materials they will use for
the ecological stand- using infographics, mind maps,
time line.- MAY 6-8
 Ss will design their ecological stand at School.
MAY13-17/2019
 Logistic and schedule MAY 20-24
 Final oral Presentation using ICT. MAY 27-31/2019
 Ss will introduce their Art Project in Primary Branch.
JUNE 3-6/2019
 Ss will show their final presentation in GALERY
EXHIBITION in the hall at San José Norte.

Focusing on Your Subject What is your topic? MODAL VERBS_ Write down four things you already know (or think you might know) about the topic. 1. There is a cancerfoundation thatcollects plastic and paper in order to recycle, reuse and reduce the global warming, when they transform the plastic they get money for children cancer treatment. 2. Students love to design and create new objects, they are able to express their ideas through art._

As business leaders, students can create their own company to recycle, reuse and reuse the plastic. What do you want to learn about your topic? 1. How to transform recyclable materials into useful objects_ 2. Feel the necessity into all students to protect the environment_ 3. Lead a campaign to save the planet_ 4. Different ways to reuse, reduce and recycle plastic. STEPS  Ss will get a register of sequenceof photos since Ss start the project until the project is totally done. They will create their time line, schedule, blog.  Use videos, articles related recycle, reduce and reuse (plastic, bags, paper) Feb- 4,5,6.  Contact Sanar Fundation for a conference or speech about recycling, and how to contribute to reduce and reuse plastic, bags and paper. Ss will be organized in groups of four, Ss have to look for causes and consequences about it, Ss will use Modal verbs. Feb. 18,19,20  Organize groups of four students, they will A DRFT in order to design a ICT presentation, in order to be aware about Global warming, and possible solutions to stop GW. Ss will use modal verbs Feb. 25, 26, 27  Ss. Will do the presentation about how to contribute to recycle, reuse and reduce plastic, bags, and paper. March 4,5,6  Ss will be organized by groups to promote a campaign about recycling, reduce and reduce plastic, bags, and paper at schoolweekly. Posters, talks, (classroom,radio station, events at school) March-2019  Ss will be organized in groups 3 or 4, thy will select recyclable material in order to design a DRAFT ART MODEL, or a recyclable material to be reused into a useful object, it will help Ss to visualize and lead a potential functionalbusiness to be done in Colombia and other countries. April 1-3  Ss will write and describe the materials and the purpose of the objectthey have chosen for the ART MODEL. April 4-5

April 8-10  Ss will perform the ART Model . April 15-19/2019  Ss will do the presentation about the ART Model, they will describe the design and its purpose, in English classes. April 22-26/2019  Ss will design a draft of an ecological stand and ICT presentation about the purpose of the ART Model. MAY 2-3/2019  Ss will write and describe the materials they will use for the ecological stand- using infographics, mind maps, time line.- MAY 6-8  Ss will design their ecological stand at School. MAY13-17/2019  Logistic and schedule MAY 20-24  Final oral Presentation using ICT. MAY 27-31/2019  Ss will introduce their Art Project in Primary Branch. JUNE 3-6/2019  Ss will show their final presentation in GALERY EXHIBITION in the hall at San José Norte.
