Our school in the past
We study in the Secondary School of Pombal. In our school we have
students from 12 to 17-18 years old.
We like studying in our school; it’s our 4 th year here. There are about 1000
students and 120 teachers. Our teachers are very kind and helpful. They always
try to help us with the school work and sometimes with personal problems. They
always have good advice to give to us and it helps us to grow up.
We are going to have a better school in the near future, therefore at the
moment our school is being rebuilt.
Now, we are going to show a video about our school, which was different
last year compared to the school we have today, because our school is
changing.
The video: what our school was like…
Here we can see the exterior part of the main entrance of our school. As
you can see we are a little bit noisy and there are always students entering and
going out of the school.
Here we are in the main hall of the school, which is cosy and where there
are always students socialising with each other.
Now, we can see our Director’s office, where there are always people
working for the well-being of the school.
This is our Administration office.
This is our school Library, which is a really good place to study, to surf
the Net, to read, to watch films and to do other good things that we like doing.
Our school has a career adviser who helps us with what we need in a
number of ways from our personal problems to vocational guidance.

2. Here you can see a Physical Education class in the Gym of the school. It
doesn’t exist anymore because of the construction works. We are going to have
a better Gym in some time.
Here we can see the Chemistry lab, where students do many
experiences.
Now we can see the Workshops, where there are Vocational courses of
Electricity and Mechanics.
There is the Multitask room, where we have computers, a smartboard
and other types of gadgets.
In our school we also have the so-called Centre of Opportunities, which
organises courses for adults.
We have a Senior University in our school, so there are also some
activities for the elderly students, like dancing, painting, computer studies and
others.
Here we can see a PE lessons at the outside Sports field, where we can
play football or other sports.
There is a Bar.
Here you can see the Teachers’ room.
This is a poem I would like to translate:
“Aqueles que passam por nós
Não vão sós, não nos deixam sós
Deixam um pouco de si
Levam um pouco de nós.”
These words mean:
People who walk by us, (with whom we have any kind of relationship)
Are not alone
They don’t leave us alone either
Not only do they give a little bit of themselves,
But also take a little bit of us.
