Can Palmer School is a public kindergarten and primary school in Viladecans, Catalonia, Spain. It has been running an inclusion project for students with special needs since 1986. The school aims to promote respect, cooperation, and tolerance. It has various classrooms and workshops where students develop skills through activities like cooking, shopping, secretarial work, and raising chicks. Students also participate in traditional celebrations and projects focused on sustainability like growing their own food and reducing waste.

4. Who are we? We are a Public Kindergarten and Primary School from 3 to 12 years old. From 1986 we are doing an INTEGRATION and INCLUSION PROJECT with children with special needs. Teachers, pupils and all the members have the opportunity to live every day with the diversity and, consequently, develop attitudes of respect , cooperation and tolerance , important and indispensables values in the society.

5. Our school Our name refers to our school district, we are located on Can Palmer Our building is large with two floors. It is bright and light and surrounded by large courtyards and a garden. It has following areas: * Psychomotor classroom. * Toy Library. * Music classroom. * Library. * Computer Classroom * Language Classroom. * Home Workshop. * Dining. * Speech therapy classrooms and support. * Adapted classrooms to the age and characteristics of students

8. Workshops In our school we have some workshops. We think that doing different everyday activites students could improve their personal autonomy. Working in a close and significant environment, like at home, promote the acquisition of routines Pupils do the washing, then they hang out the washing, and finally they do the ironing and put it in the wardrobe. 9. Once a week, students cook a recipe for breakfast. But some days before they need to look for it and choose one between all of us using our imagination or the recipe book. They need to think about what are we going to use and the steps to follow: ingredients, kitchen utensils..., as well. Workshops Cookery or Cooking workshop Pupils working

10. Teachers place an order and one a week we must go shooping to buy the diferents products. We go shopping, they find the shop, they pay it in cash and take the bill. Shooping workshop Workshops

11. The main objective of this workshop is to interact with others in the school environment doing pre-work tasks and doing a service to the teachers. Pupils do: - some photocopies - they staple - they cover with (laminated) plastic some sheets - they deliver it (WC paper, staples, envelopes chalk, leaflets, letters...) 12. This project is carried by E1, the youngest class at school. Teacher give some eggs and pupils look it inside and out, open it and experiment with the senses: touch, smell, sight. We must put they inside the Incubator and make a cross in each one, because we need to know the side of the egg and to turn it twice a day. Now we must wait for 21 days. It will be fun and exciting !! Raising Chicks Project:

13. Solar cooking Project: Last year we know another kind of energy. The Sun give us the opportunity and we could cooked pizza!!!! Situate our oven towards the sun.

14. The groups of the kindergarden are mixed to do some activities like paint, traditional games, songs … New projects: Inter-levels workshops

15. Do it yourself Some students with special needs make and repair simple things around the school as forniture and so.

17. Recycle: - paper - battery - plastic - breakfast container - faucets - close doors to save heating How to become an ecocitizen

19. Traditional celebrations The catalan tradition tells about the chestnut tree. We work the season, the plants and the animals. The youngest children took part in a free adaptation tale about a tree which has not chestnuts because the pollution. Autumn days (festivity of Toussaint)

20. Christmas Log: Children bites the log with a stick to obtain little presents Our concert of Christmas Carol Christmas time CAGA TIÓ 

21. Free buffet: the older students invite to the other students to the Christma’s breakfast. Most of the countries presents their meals. Free buffet

22. We make every year a fancy dress party related to the principal topic of the school. This year is about eco-citizen Carnival

23. There is an old religious tradition about not allow to eat meat between Carnival and Easter (Holy Week) During this seven weeks children count with the help of a old woman with seven legs. Lent (La Quaresma)

24. Jocs Florals: is a poetic quiz due the memorial of Cervantes and Shakespeare. Sant Jordi

25. Every course we make an exposition of the school’s topic. Two years ago the topic was the water because Spain was in drought Family exposition
