Abstract
• Cloud computing provides a platform for its user to save the data
over the cloud and provide it to the clients on demand. It provides
ease of access ,great flexibility and reduced total cost of ownership
to provide on demand services.
Outline of
Presentation
• Introduction of Cloud Computing
• Types of Cloud Computing Environment
• Characteristics of Cloud Computing
• Why switch from Tradition IT to Cloud
Computing
• Challenges of Cloud Computing
• Conclusion
Introduction
Storing, accessing data and programs over the Internet instead of your
computer's hard drive.
Types of Cloud
Computing
Environments
1. Public Clouds
2. Private Clouds
3. Hybrid Clouds
4. Community Clouds
1. Public Clouds
• Also called provide clouds
• Services are delivered to the client via the internet from third party
service provider and charged on pay-per-use
• It can be used general public
• Examples : Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud EC2 , IBM Blue Cloud,
Sun Cloud , Google App Engine, MS Azure Services Platform etc.
2. Private Cloud
 Also called internal clouds
 Services are managed and provided within the organization
 Less restrictions compare to public clouds
 Examples HP data center
3. Hybrid Cloud
• Combination of both public and private cloud
• Example
ERP on private cloud
Sale and email on public cloud
4. Community Cloud
 Infrastructure is shared among number of organization with similar
interest and requirements
 Can be public or private.
