Plant Cells By Hazel Zevos and Madelon Morford
The difference between these to cells is the organelles inside of the cell. Animal Plant The Difference between an Animal Cell and a Plant Cell What… cells have that…cells don’t Cell Wall Chloroplast Vacuoles in Animal cells are not as large and cannot carry as much as a plants Lysosomes To add to the difference…the plant cell is more plentiful then and animal cell, but in real life it seems like animals are more complex then a plant cell.

The Nucleus holds and stores all of the cells DNA It is often called the “Heart of the Cell”, “The Control Center” or the “Brain” of the cell It also keeps the cell on task with how many materials need to leave and come into the cell, reproduction and growth Nucleus
The vacuole of the cell is a part of the cell which holds all of the liquids in the cell The vacuole also helps keep the plants stem strong and upright Vacuole
Mitochondrion provide energy for the cell by breaking down carbohydrates and sugar That energy is used for the cell to divide, move and produce When there is not enough light energy for Chloroplast then Mitochondrion gives it some energy to replace the light energy Mitochondrion
This is the place where the plants chlorophyll is stored Chlorophyll is the chemical that turns the plant green Chloroplast
This part of the cell contains the Ribosomes There is protein on the Ribosomes and they spread throughout the cell Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum
The Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum makes lipids and breaks down things in the cell that could harm it The Smooth ER does not have ribosomes Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum
Ribosomes are the smallest organelle This is where all the proteins are made Every cell needs protein to live so without ribosomes, the cells couldn’t live Ribosomes
Was discovered by Italian scientist, Camillo Glogi, where the Golgi Complex got its name. Lipids and proteins are distributed to the Golgi Complex Then the Golgi Complex delivers them to other people. Golgi Complex
Is a region in the cell that surrounds the neucleus The “home” of the cytoskeleton The cytoskeleton works as the skeleton and muscles in the cell It helps keep the cell’s structure Cytoplasm
The cell membrane contains most of the cells proteins, lipids and phospholipids. This part of the cell also acts as a barrier to the cell. Cell Membrane
Cell walls are only in the plant cell They keep all the bad things out of the cell They keep the cell protected They act like a barrier to the cell Cell Wall
