An Update on the Royal Australian Air Force's Plan Jericho: March 2016ICSA, LLC
During the Airpower Conference hosted by the Chief of Staff of the Royal Australian Air Force, the co-leaders of the Plan Jericho project, Group Captains Andrew “Jake” Campbell and Peter Mitchell, provided an update on the Plan Jericho effort. And the approach permeated the discussion at the Williams Foundation seminar on new approaches to air-land integration, notably because there has been a significant effort to better align the airlift and support sector with the evolving approach of the Army and its approach to ground maneuver warfare.
But what highlighted in many ways the approach and the way ahead was seen on Friday after the Airpower Conference and the Williams Seminar, namely in a Jericho Dawn exercise which focused on ways to provide better situational awareness for the ground maneuver force.
An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), commonly known as a Drone, is an aircraft without a human pilot on board. UAVs can be remote controlled aircraft (e.g. flown by a pilot at a ground control station) or can fly autonomously based on pre-programmed flight plans or more complex dynamic automation systems
A UAV is defined as being capable of controlled, sustained level flight and powered by a jet or reciprocating engine. In addition, a cruise missile can be considered to be a UAV, but is treated separately on the basis that the vehicle is the weapon.
Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are aircrafts that fly without any humans being onboard. They are either remotely piloted, or piloted by an onboard computer. This kind of aircrafts can be used in different military missions such as surveillance, reconnaissance, battle damage assessment, communications relay, minesweeping, hazardous substances detection and radar jamming. However they can be used in other than military missions like detection of hazardous objects on train rails and investigation of infected areas. Aircrafts that are able of hovering and vertical flying can also be used for indoor missions like counter terrorist operations

A NANOTECHNOLOGY AIRCRAFT WITH STEALTH TECHNOLOGYIJRISE Journal
The success of the Aviation Industry (Defense) depends on various factors ranging from less visibility, reduction
of weight, availability of materials with multifunctional properties, carrying more payload, eco-friendly fuels, less fuel
consumption, faster and highly responsive communication systems, less or no repairs, extended and safe life, reduced time
frame of development cycle from concept to implementation and many more. Nanotechnology is recognized as a very strong
innovation driver and is therefore seen as a strategic technology for the world’s future economy. Nano-materials with their
exceptional multifunctional properties may transform the functioning of aviation (Defense) industry dramatically. Stealth
properties give it the unique ability to penetrate an enemy's most sophisticated defenses and threaten its most valued and
heavily defended targets. Stealth refers to the act of trying to hide or evade detection. It is not so much a technology as
a concept that incorporates a broad series of technologies and design features. Stealth does not always refer to radar.
Reducing an aircraft's heat signature is also important. This is usually done by channeling the engine exhaust through long
tubes and mixing it with cooler outside air. This paper shows the modern aviation design requirements like faster, miniature,
highly maneuverable, self-healing, intelligence guided, smart, eco-friendly, light weight warrant for materials with
extraordinary mechanical and multifunctional properties with stealth technology. Stealth technology is the use of special
radar absorbent materials, flat angular surface design and other techniques to minimize the amount of radiation r eflected to
a radar installation, causing an aircraft to appear as a much smaller signal or not at all. Stealth means 'low observable'.
Human Factors Training: There's nothing that can't go wrong. This simple insight forms the foundation of human factors training for pilots. In special courses, pilots are prepared for any possible emergency situation and action strategies. Crews learn to analyze and evaluate their own behavior and that of those around them more effectively. Training leads to more efficient work processes, a functioning error management culture, and increased safety. This is a general prsentation and human factors management in aviation training.
The mechanical engineering program at the Rochester Institute of
Technology is designed to equip students with a broad base of
science and engineering knowledge complemented by hands-on
laboratory activities, a capstone graduation project, and
cooperative training experience. Students devote their rst two
years to the study of mathematics, physics, liberal arts, and
engineering sciences.

Aeronautical engineering is now running one of the demanding streams of engineering with broad scope of career prospects. Young aeronautical engineers get easily recruited in the field of aeronautics, space research and exploration as well as in defense. The engineers of this stream are claimed to have good aptitude in specialized and mechanical expertise. There are numerous aeronautical engineering colleges in India. There the young scholars are trained with techniques of designing, development, construction, testing, operation and maintenance of the aircraft, missiles, and satellites developed for both corporate and military purposes.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.
