Dobereiner arranged elements into triads based on increasing atomic weights. Several scientists contributed to the development of the periodic table, including Newlands who grouped elements into eight columns and Mendeleev who is considered the father of the periodic table and established the periodic law relating properties to atomic weights. Moseley later revised the periodic law to relate properties to atomic number.
