Presidential Election Results
How Did Pollsters Get It Wrong?
On last November 8th, the results of presidential election were a surprise and shock to most people
around the world, especially US residents because they consistently projected Hillary Clinton would
defeated Donald Trump. According to the article Presidential Election Results: Donald J. Trump Wins
in The New York Times, the total votes for Clinton were 62,391,335 (48%) and for Trump were
61,125,956 (47%). However, in contrast to earlier predictions, some states elected to Trump instead of
Clinton, and this result brought victory for Trump in the last hours of election day. In details, Trump
had 6 electoral votes from Iowa, 10 electoral votes from Wisconsin, 18 electoral votes from Ohio, 20
electoral votes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is a great deal of speculation but no clear answers as to the cause of the disconnect, but there is
one point of agreement: Across the board, polls underestimated Trump s level of support. , said
Andrew Mercer, Claudia Deane and Kyley McGeeney authors on their article Why 2016 election polls
missed their mark in Pew Research Center. They also gave some several possible explanations for the
misstep. The first factor might be what pollsters refer to as nonresponse bias. Some groups, include
the less educated voters who were a key demographic for Trump on Election Day, are consistently
hard for pollsters to reach. Then, the result would be a strongly pro Trump segment of the population
that simply did not show up in the polls in proportion to their actual share of the population. The next
factor was many of those who were polled simply were not honest about whom they intended to vote
for. The explanation for this factor was support for Trump was socially undesirable, and that his
supporters were unwilling to admit their support to pollsters . In 1982, a similar case occurred in the
gubernatorial election in California. Democrat Tom Bradley, the black mayor of Los Angeles, lost to
Republican George Deukmejian despite having been ahead in the polls even though the voters were
reluctant to tell interviewers that they were not going to vote for a black candidate. The third factor
involves the way pollsters identify likely voters. Because we can t know in advance who is actually
going to vote, pollsters develop models predicting who is going to vote and what the electorate will
look like on Election Day. This is a notoriously difficult task, and small differences in assumptions can
produce sizable differences in election

La Muerte Niña Cultural Event
Special Experience of La Muerte Niña:Day of the Dead The exhibition La Muerte Niña: Day of the
Dead opened in National Museum of Mexican Art on September 18, 2015. Dolores Mercado curated
this exhibition. The exhibition was about the Mexican day of the dead . Many Mexican people believe
that life still continues after death and they celebrate it as the holiday day of the dead each year. Every
year, the day of the dead exhibition in the National Museum of Mexican Art has a different subtopic.
The subtopic in this year is La Muerte Niña, which means the death child and refers to the loss of
innocent life. Forty three students who were kidnapped and killed inspire the subtopic. This exhibition
contains 13 ofrendas including 116 artworks, which has been put in three rooms. These works are

the exhibition. The different wall colorings in different rooms in this exhibition can give viewers
fruitful visual experiences. The warm color atmosphere around the exhibition makes us forget about
the fear and sorrow of death. Different rooms have different mediums of artworks. This gives the
exhibition an outstanding rhythm that is different from normal exhibitions, which would not make this
exhibition stiff. The artworks in this exhibition do not only reflect the theme but also make a good
interaction with the viewers¬ especially the sculpture work We are Earth and Earth with Fire makes

born author and journalist, winner of the 1982 Nobel Prize for Literature and a pioneer of the Latin
American Boom. Affectionately known as Gabo to millions of readers, he first won international fame
with his masterpiece, One Hundred Years of Solitude, a defining classic of twentieth century literature.
Whether writing short stories, epic novels, or nonfiction, Gabo is above all a brilliant storyteller, and
his writing is a tribute to both the power of the imagination and the mysteries of the human heart. In

The Issue Of Homelessness Is Not A New Issue
The issue of homelessness in remains an issue that is rarely acknowledged or discussed. Governments
all around the world boast of all the work they are doing for their country, bringing up GDP,
employment rate and promising even more. However, when the issue of homelessness is brought up,
governments shy away, pretending that it is barely an issue in the country. Unfortunately, Canada is
one of those countries. A study done in 2014 on the issue of homelessness in Canada found that
approximately 235, 000 Canadians will experience homelessness in a year, with over 35, 000
Canadians homeless on any given night. (Canadian Observatory on Homelessness, 5) The issue of
homelessness is not a new issue; however, this issue needs to be ... Show more content on

However, affordable housing needs money. For not only governments, but people in all sorts of
positions, there exists a hesitance to put money into a situation in which one does not immediately
benefit. Government s are more willing to spend millions on fighter aircrafts, for example, than invest
into their own people. Such behavior begs the question of what the priority of the government is.
Ironically, ignoring the homelessness issue in Canada costs the Canadian economy over $7 billion per
year. (Canadian Observatory on Homelessness, 6) The Canadian Government has invested in the issue
of homelessness, increasing the number of temporary shelters, investing in longer hospital stay,
emergency healthcare and various other programs to aid in this issue. However, the rate of
homelessness continues to grow; this implies that what has been done is simply not enough.
Temporary shelters, similar to their name, are temporary. A homeless person, temporarily, has a place
to sleep; however, temporarily does not solve the issue of homelessness. Programs like temporary
shelters and emergency healthcare are costing the Government billions each year and not aiding in the
fight to end homelessness. For many Canadians a large portion of their income goes towards rent, in
fact nearly 1 in 5 households experience extreme housing affordability problems, meaning they have
low incomes and have to spend

The Golden Age of Athens
The Golden age of Athens
Fifth century Athens refers to the Greek city state of Athens in the period of roughly 480 BC 404 BC.
This was a period of Athenian political hegemony, economic growth and cultural flourishing formerly
known as the Golden Age of Athens or The Age of Pericles. The period began in 480 BC when an
Athenian led coalition of city states, known as the Delian League, defeated the Persians at Salamis. As
the fifth century wore on, what started as an alliance of independent city states gradually became an
Athenian empire. Eventually, Athens abandoned the pretense of parity among its allies and relocated
the Delian League treasury from Delos to Athens, where it funded the building of the
AthenianAcropolis. With its enemies ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These measures appear to have been carried out in great measure since the testimony has come to us
from, (among others, the Greek historian Thucydides (c. 460 400 BCE), who comments: Everyone

The magistrates
The magistrates were people who occupied a public post and formed the administration of the
Athenian state. They were submitted to rigorous public control. The magistrates were chosen by lot,
using fava beans. Black and white beans were put in a box and depending on which color the person
drew out they obtained the post or not. This was a way of eliminating the personal influence of rich
people and possible intrigues and use of favors. There were only two categories of posts not chosen by
lot, but by election in the Popular Assembly. These were strategos, or general, and magistrate of
finance. It was generally supposed that significant qualities were needed to exercise each of those two
offices. A magistrate s post did not last more than a year, including that of the strategoi and in this
sense the continued selection of Pericles year after year was an exception. At the end of every year, a
magistrate would have to give an account of his administration and use of public finances.
The most honored posts were the ancient archontes, or archons in English. In previous ages they had

Problems Associated With Road Traffic Injuries
1.2. Problem Statement
In Makueni County a considerable burden of diseases is caused by injuries and other life threatening
emergencies. Over two hundred patients with road traffic injuries are received in the health facilities
for definitive treatment in a year as per the occurrence register at the County Ambulance Call Centre.
The accidents are mainly along the major roads such as Nairobi Mombasa highway, Makindu Wote
road and Wote Machakos roads. Although the patients who need emergency care are often handled by
the bystanders who come to their aid, some of the victims die on the scene of the accident while others
on transit to health facilities. Sometimes, the patients transferred to the health facilities cannot be
managed satisfactorily and about a quarter of them require secondary urgent transfer to other health
facilities either due lack of facilities or expertise. This often leads to a tremendous loss of time, waste
of resources, lack of effectiveness; hence aggravating the injuries sustained resulting to complications
or even death. The crash related complications often result to long hospital delays and hence exert
pressure on hospital facilities.
The research is therefore aimed at determining the status of pre hospital emergency care for persons
experiencing road traffic injuries and will in turn help to improve the quality of emergency medical
services, save life, avert disability and other complications resulting from these emergencies.

Difference Between Internal And External Crowdsourcing
According to several scholars (including Villarroel and Reis, 2010; Boudreau and Lakhani, 2013;
Carlson and Wilmot, 2006; Chesbrough, 2006a, 2006b; Byren, 2013; Yap, 2012; Howe, 2006, 2009;
Brabham, 2008b, 2009, 2013), the main difference between internal and external crowdsourcing can
be summarized as follows: i) the internal crowd (employees) is known to the firm; ii) the crowd can be
all employees of the firm, a subsidiary of the firm, or may also include partners and suppliers; iii) the
crowd is specifically used for problem solving or aggregating ideas for innovation purposes; and iv)
the crowd may also be anyone with internet or mobile remote access capable of participating in a
crowdsourcing contest and vote on the ideas of others.
Internal crowdsourcing is easier to implement in companies where social media acceptance is high
(Yap, 2012); crowdsourcing attempts within companies don t measure up to the external crowd
(Boudreau and Lakhani, 2013). Crowdsourcing forms such as idea marketplaces and idea jams lack
the capabilities and fall short to the external crowd s full capacity. Boudreau and Lakhani (2013)
believes employees are discouraged from seeking challenges; Yap (2012) says that internal
crowdsourcing unveil innovations from employees which otherwise would not be captured. Carlson
and Wilmot (2006) emphasizes that every employee does in fact has the ability to innovate, and must
do so for their company to stay competitive. The desire for deeper exploration of

God Is Our Benevolent Creator
Paley s Natural Theology argues that in order for something to exist, there has to be a creator. A well
known passage from his book includes someone noticing a watch on the ground and anyone would
assume that the watch was made by someone else. He connects this to the creation of life and
everything we know, to God s creations. That God made humans and everything else in this world,
maybe as explained in the Biblical text of Genesis. According to Paley, God is our benevolent creator,
but what if everything existed before hand and God had nothing to do with it? It is hard to tell what is
true, following Paley and Christianity or the idea of true science and evolution. In Paley s time,
Natural Theology was an established field of study, though it is now either neglected or known under
another name. It can be defined as the branch of philosophy and theology which attempts to prove
God s existence, define God s attributes, or derive correct doctrine based solely from human reason
and/or observations of the natural world. If classical theology is concerned with a study of the
scriptures, then natural theology is the attempt to derive theological ideas from nature, without
reference to scripture. (Hovind) Where Paley falls short is that he does not pull from Christian
scriptures. His theory comes solely from nature itself. Before the traveler of his watchmaker theory
story, State of the Argument in Natural Theology, comes across the watch, he first sees a rock. For all

Feasibility And Benefits Of Business Process Outsourcing...
Research Report
Introduction
The research topic is to find the feasibility and the benefits of Business process outsourcing and
Knowledge process outsourcing, in India.
The research is planned to be conducted keeping Indian market in perspective, which is why one of
the booming industries Outsourcing units has been chosen, to complete the research on. India has
come out to be major player in the outsourcing business since past a few years. (Ahmedabad)
Outsourcing the business is in trend as it helps the company to cut the operational cost. It basically
means the multinational companies handing over of their task like sales or collections, to another
company on a target basis payment contract. This creates a win win situation for both the companies
as former one gets to save a lot of time, money and energy and the latter gets the business. India
specifically is benefitted because of several reasons as a huge population of economical and effective
labour resides in the country. India stands the second highest in possessing the english speaking and
computer friendly population. (Ahmedabad)
Typically, the business that is passed over to the business processing outsourcing units is the non core
activities of the multinational companies. This research will be done keeping the Indian market in
mind, which is why most of the references taken to make this literature review are done keeping
Indian industry in mind. Also it has been made sure, that most of the data used to make

Fan Pathology Research Paper
According Jenson, there are two representing types of fan pathologies: obsessed loners and frenzied or
hysterical crowd. At first, I would like define each type of fan pathology. First type of fan pathology is
the obsessed loners type of fan. Jenson wrote the obsessed loners are individuals achieve public
notoriety by stalking or threatening or killing the celebrity (Lewis, 1992, p11). There was a
remarkable obsessed loner type fan became notorious for shooting the former Beatle in 1980.
December 8, 1980, John Lennon, the former Beatle, was gunned down outside the Dakota Building in

Jenson wrote, these individuals are weeping teen at the airport glimpsing a rock star, or the roaring,
maniacal sports fan rioting at a soccer game (Lewis, p.12). I think this is the type of fans that people
often imagine by hearing the word fan . Within frenzied or hysterical crowd, there is two big
categories; entertainment fans and sports fans. The point of being frenzied or hysterical crowd is to
feel solidarity and to form a community outside of their everyday life. According to the ethnography
of Bruce Springsteen fans, the author quoted a meaning of being the Springsteen fan; Ruth Finnegan
(1989) has pointed out the importance of people s devotion to certain musical worlds , in which they
play in or follow a local musical group or listen to certain musical genre, as a way to shape personal
and communal identity (Cavicchi, 1998, p.4). In addition to this general explanation of music fans,
Cavicchi explained, among Springsteen fans, the idea of connection means more than just having an
affinity for Springsteen s music; it means making the music a deeply felt part of one s life, of having
an ongoing, shared relationship with Springsteen the artist (Cavicchi, p.41). Thus among of all
Springsteen fans, being a Springsteen fan means not only they like his music, but Springsteen and his
music is significant factors to shape their personal and communal

Interlations And The Impacts Of Wind And Ocean Interactions
2.1 Wind and ocean interactions
When wind is experienced it mainly impacts the surface waters in the ocean, these waters are subject
to movement. Due to the effects of the Coriolis force air movement is deflected to the left in the
southern hemisphere. A phenomenon known as the Ekman spiral is initiated once water at the surface
begins to move. This surface movement initiates the bottom water layers to move as well to the left of
the force that is driving it. In addition, the Ekman spiral movement begins to weaken at deeper water
depths. The Ekman spiral force is directed downwards where it operates at right angles to the wind,
where in the southern hemisphere it operates to the left. Evidently the physical atmospheric
environment, the wind, interacts with the ocean altering ocean current speed and the way in which
water in its various depths are mixed together (Wanninkhof, 1992).
2.2 Circulation of the thermohaline
In addition to circulation driven by the wind in oceans there is circulation that exists due to
convection. These convection differences exist as a result of alterations in water density which differs
according to temperature and salinity adjustments present at the surface of the ocean. Downward
convection, the movement of heat energy, is administered by the size of what is known as the
thermocline which is commonly referred to as a temperature gradient. This temperature gradient can
be seen in figures 1.1 and 1.2 and it distinguishes warmer surface water from

Summary Of Small Family Circles In Jane Austen s Emma
In the novel Emma, Emma, main character, lived in a time period when a whole town was a
community and a family. Everyone knew each other and had large gatherings with the entire
community. But Jane Austen s 13 references of a circle in Emma, helps describe the tiny family and
friend circles that people actually had, circles were considered classes; they were not allowed to
choose the circle they were in, and how people liked to keep their circles small and stay in the same
circle for their entire lives.
Many people had tiny friends and family circles that other respected and didn t want to break apart.
But, my dear, pray do not make any more matches; they are silly things, and break up one s family 1)
circle grievously (Austen 23), shows people valued small family circles and did not wish others to
interfere with their families. Another time small family circles were described was when Jane Austen
wrote, He liked very much to have his friends come and see him; and from various united causes,
from his long residence at Hartfield, and his good nature, from his fortune, his house, and his
daughter, he could command the visits of his own little 2) circle, in a great measure, as he liked
(Austen 34). People also valued small circles because they could choose when to see their family
members and did not have to feel overwhelmed. He had not much intercourse with any families
beyond that 3) circle; his horror of late hours, and large dinner parties, made him unfit for any
acquaintance but such as would visit him on his own terms (Austen 34), this displays the fear that
most people felt in large groups and with having large circles. Small circles were preferred because it
was easier to control what happened within and see family members more frequently.
Even though circles were very small, they were ranked highest to lowest. A cousin of Mr. Suckling,
Mrs. Bragge, had such an infinity of applications; everybody was anxious to be in her family, for she
moves in the first 4) circle (Austen 504). Instead of having classes, they had circles that were ranked
with richer families than poor families. [...] but it will not satisfy your friends to have you taking up

Classical Conditioning In Relation to Distrust in...
Classical conditioning is the theory that involves a subject learning a new behavior by the process of
association. A naturally occuring stimulus (the unconditioned stimulus) is paired with a response (the
unconditioned response). Then, a neutral stimulus (the conditioned stimulus) is paired with the
unconditioned stimulus and eventually the conditioned stimulus produces the initial response of the
unconditioned stimulus without the unconditioned stimulus being present. The response, therefore,
becomes the conditioned response. This study had a major influence on the psychological study of
behaviorism. Behaviorism is based on the assumption that learning occurs through interactions with
the environment (Cherry 1). Classical conditioning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For the second stage, a white rat was used as Watson s CS, the CS must be a neutral stimulus that
initially has no effect on the UR. Little Albert showed no phobia towards the rat before conditioning
occurred. By pairing the US with the CS, the infant learned to associate the loud noise of the hammer
and metal bar with the white rat. After strengthening the association between the US and the CS by
repetition, Little Albert eventually became fearful and upset when only presented with the once neutral
stimulus, the white rat. This response was the CR which marked the completion of step three. Little
Albert was now afraid of the white rat because it triggered his fear of the loud noise. Classical
conditioning can be used to prove many forms of behavior between subjects when looking at the the
right unconditioned/ conditioned stimuli and unconditioned/ conditioned responses. The theory of
classical conditioning can be used to explain the development of distrust and trust issues in the
relationships between people. Trust: belief that someone or something is reliable, good, honest,
effective, etc. (Merriam Webster Dictionary). Distrust in a relationship occurs when the trust between
two people is diminished. Distrust can have many negative affects on a person including: trust issues,
anxiety, suspicion, fear of opening up, etc. Symptoms of distrust can depend on the severity of the
distrust in the

Sacred Hoops
Phil Jackson coached the Chicago Bulls basketball team to one of the longest winning streaks in
professional sports. In his book, Sacred Hoops, he describes his approach to coaching a group of
acknowledged stars. He clearly understands that simply collecting a set of outstanding players does
not a championship team make. One way of understanding his approach is to think of every problem
or project having components in four different spheres:
1. Mental, logical, scientific, technical
2. Systems or how the parts all connect and interact
3. Emotional, feelings, intuition
4. Ethical, spiritual and issues of being.

Following a career as a player Jackson applied his understanding to coaching basketball teams. You
can t expect a team to perform in a way that is out of tune with its natural abilities, so empowering
individuals even superstars to mindfully acknowledge their true abilities and accept what they can and
can t change moves any team toward a greater cohesion. Focusing on the awareness of the moment,
instilling the notions of selflessness in action and the value of compassion towards fellow players are
some of the teachings that Jackson provided for his players.
Somehow I never associated the competitive world of a professional sport with Zen practice but
clearing the mind and opening the heart is just as relevant there as anywhere else. In dealing with the
high pressure situation of highly paid athletes constantly under media scrutiny Jackson, via his
practice has been able to reflect on his own actions, look into his essential nature and find solutions to
all sorts of problems the Tao of Authority leads him.
Zen is life, so why not let the eightfold path lead you to a method of coaching basketball? Even if right
action means calling it quits sometimes and it involves losing. As Jackson says, I used to believe that
the day I could accept defeat was the day I would have to give up my job. But losing is as integral a
part of the dance as winning. Buddhism teaches us that by accepting death, you discover life.

this letter to the editor serve to recognize a man who positively impacted the lives of students for over
30 years. Joe Wilson, Honors English Teacher, Creative Writing Instructor, Academic Decathlon and
KEDT TV Challenge Coach for Corpus Christi Independent School District, Richard King High
School is the person that I am referring to. Mr. Wilson began his tenure at CCISD in _________ and
sadly retired in 2017. I was fortunate to be one of his students in the 80 s, as was my son who
graduated in 2015.
Mr. Wilson was influential in so many ways. A true aesthetic, his thespian talent captured our interest

Safety At Home And Motor Vehicle Crash
A few years ago I decide to go watch T.V. as I normally do in the morning. That s when I saw that
another set of innocent lives have been taken from not wearing seatbelts. What really got my attention
was those innocent lives were from Union, Missouri and I knew two out of the five of them, three out
of the five died. Their names were Jim Curran, Isaac Clark, Lucas Shulze, Cole Weddle, and Derek
King. I knew Isaac and Jim; Isaac had his seatbelt on and survived but was in critical condition but
Jim did not make it, he suffered serious injuries in the wreck and did not have his seatbelt on. This
made me realize that it s a problem everywhere with people not wearing their seatbelts. The world

He also required a breathing tube that kept him from resuming his duties as governor for several

he doesn t set a good example kids will follow in his footsteps and not wear a seatbelt. From 2008 to
2012, 1,609 children ages eight to 14 died while traveling in passenger vehicles. A full 80 percent of
them were unrestrained at the time of their death. This is happening anywhere people have cars even
in Union itself. In the past few years there has been a few teenagers who have died from not wearing
their seatbelt and they had all attended Union High School. Today, seatbelts are an accepted part of
routine vehicle operation for millions of drivers and passengers. But the modern three point

inconvenient simply because they re not used to wearing them. Those people who have made buckling

It can t be overemphasized that the seriou discomfort and inconvenience of motor vehicle crash injury

Pragmatism In James Joyce s Araby
Question #1
The first three paragraphs of the tale focus largely on the setting because these setting symbolize the
key concept of the story. Settings strengthen the theme and the characters by using the metaphors of
darkness and light. The experiences of the boy in this story portrays how people often expect more
than the real world can provide and then feel they disappointed and disillusioned.
The author refers to the obscure and dark images to make the reality of boy living in the dreary town
of Araby more eloquent. He uses dark and the bleak references to create the mood or atmosphere and
then refers to the bright light while discussing the Mangan s sister. Bright light is referred to create a

He hardly meets or talks to the lady of her dreams. But he builds all his romantic fantasy around her
calm and sedate image which is his backbone in an otherwise drab daily life. His feeling for her
grows. Finally, he met with her dream lady and she refers to a fair called Araby. She does not really
tell him to go to the place but the boy s entire desires now moved to that one specific place. He
conceptualizes this place as a fantasy land filled with the innocence and purity. The rest of the tale is
about the boy s rather delayed and troubled visit to that place. He then finds it as a drab market or
bazaar where everything is so artificial and on sale. He finds human speech meaningless there. This
bazaar seems charmless to the boy and he became severely disappointed. At the end of the story, when
the boy was standing all alone in the dark places, sees himself in the mockery of all his stupidity. It is
a deeply disturbing and yet a learning moment for the boy. It is a slice of experience that will make a
man out of the boy and perhaps a state of the transition for the boy from the dream world to the real

The Problem of Internet Regulation in the U.S. Today
Many Americans today rely on the Internet for two main reasons: information and connectivity. Some
may consider it as the biggest library available because of the endless information it can provide. It
further enhanced people s knowledge of what s going on all around the globe and has been proved to
be a very powerful tool that is available for anyone to use. Communication improved not just here in
the United States of America, but also in other countries thanks to social media. Despite of all this,
there is still an evident problem for American citizens when it comes to Internet Regulation. There s

Economically, $12.5 billion in losses each year is due to piracy in the music industry, $2.7 billion in
workers earnings are lost each year due to online piracy and almost 71,000 jobs are lost in the United
States every year due to online piracy as well. It may seem that these numbers are horrifying, but one
statistic proves otherwise. In the statistics for the highest and lowest piracy rates in 2010, the United
States comes up the very top of the lowest piracy percentage, only accounting for 20% of media
downloaded from the Internet. Most consumers in the U.S. obtain their media legally because they

everyone else. Consumers may download the songs illegally, but if they really loved the album, they
would buy the real deal. A whopping 86% of Internet users have taken some steps online to erase or
mask their digital footprints and 55% of Internet users have taken steps to prevent surveillance by
organizations, specific people or the government. Online privacy has been one of the main concerns of

surgery in cancer treatment is to diagnose and to see how far the cancer has spread. The diagnostic

diagnostic surgery they take a small tissue sample and send it through direct testing. To go along with

other types of treatment, speeding up the treatment process and bringing the cancer treatment to later

Eating disorders are a serious mental illness, not a choice or lifestyle preference. Everyone has their

Pica is an eating disorder when people have an abnormal appetite and consume nonnutritive
substances including dirt, stones, hair, feces, lead, light bulbs, and much more. Because individuals
suffering with Pica are driven to eat unconceivable things, this disorder commonly leads to many
medical issues. Many doctors believe Pica to be a derivative of some mental ailment but there are
other factors that can lead to this disorder. Thus, Pica disorder is caused by a combination of

close guidance of children known to put things in their mouths may help catch the disorder before
complications can occur. Currently, there are no medical treatments specifically for Pica but
behavioral strategies are considered the most effected treatment. Multidisciplinary methods with
physicians, psychologists, and social workers are suggested for successful treatment. Some behavioral
strategies include sensory reinforcement, antecedent manipulation, overcorrection, differential

Non-Ruminant Animal Digestive System Differences
Non Ruminant and Ruminant Animals Digestive System Differences
Non Ruminant
Non ruminant animals are just like humans, they digest their food just the once if they are able to
digest it and it is good food and the one stomach works on it.
The non ruminant digestive system works so that our stomach churns the food so it is into tiny little
pieces, and makes sure that the food we eat is fully digested and the stomach muscles contract in order
to churn food. The small intestine then absorbs and digests 90% of the food we eat and then absorbs
minerals and nutrients, the large intestine then absorbs water from the remaining indigested food and
transports waste material from our bodies, the rectum then temporarily stores our faeces until it is full
and then faeces excrete from our anuses.

Evolution Of The Wellness Program
The wellness programs that many companies now seem to be interested in is nothing new, as
companies have known for many years that a healthy and fit employee is a more productive employee.
This company interest in fit employees can be traced back to the time right after World War II. After
WWII a few companies decided to construct gyms and staffed them with instructors to help in the
promotion of fitness (Sparling 2010), (Chenoweth 2011), (Miller 2014). These gyms were perks
typically for upper management and had little effect on the health behaviors or the health care for the
majority of the employees. These types of programs continued to grow throughout the 1970s with

Companies have identified the need for a wellness program to help in this endeavor. Companies also
need a means to identify the performance and cost of this wellness program. Just as organizations have
used the fundamental concepts of cost measurement and recognition to provide the past, present and
future performance and cost (Crosson, and Needles, 2014).
Historical programs have proven that without proper performance measurements and being properly
budgeted not just a wellness program but all programs are doomed to fail.
A company wellness program must have performance measures system that will monitor both the
operating results and the multiple performance measurements that are needed to identify the return on
investment (ROI), residual income (RI), and economic value added (EVA) (Crosson, and Needles,
2014). This will only provide a short term performance measurement of the wellness program and
would require an understanding of the wellness program stakeholders to provide a more balanced
view of the program. During the planning phase of a company s wellness program, there is the need to
identify a company s vision and strategy for the wellness program.
At the beginning of any program, there needs to be an initial evaluation of the current conditions and
or status. By establishing a baseline of the health of your employees will provide the

Creating and updating patient s medical records would take some pressure off the doctors and

Ellis Island Immigration
Hundreds of years have past since many people immigrated here, to The New World. Life was
difficult and many people died on the way here. If traveling by boat, it took about 2 3 weeks at sea.
About one half of the immigrants docked in New York City and in Pennsylvania. Some immigrants
went to Ellis Island before getting to America starting from 1892 until 1954. On Ellis Island, everyone
got inspected for diseases and/or disabilities, in order, to make sure that these people coming in could
support the United States economy. The inspections were one of the most dreaded parts about the trip,
because if someone was not accepted, they would be sent back. The New World s population grew
rapidly from the 1700s to the 1900s because people were trying to get away from crop failure, raising
taxes, famine, religious restrictions, executions and/or to have a chance at a better life. We are not sure

Mascursive Racism In America
For centuries, America has been known as the land of the free , but is it really free? What about the
pledge of allegiance? The phrase one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
seems a little odd. Originally, people came to America to express their religion freely and create a new
nation; with the declaration of independence stating that all men are created equal. Ironically, to this
day minorities across America are faced with constant discrimination due to their race. Being born a
white person automatically guarantees the right to live as a human being and receive respect from
their peers, those who aren t white live with the risk of having their rights turned down and lose

Gaertner and Dovido (1986) proposed that many people harbor negative feelings about blacks (or
members of other minority groups) on an unconscious level... Aversive racism refers to the
unintentional expression of these anti black feelings by people who sincerely endorse, on a conscious
level, egalitarian values and principles. Rather than bigotry or hatred, the anti black feelings held by
aversive racists reflect fear and discomfort, their discriminatory behavior towards blacks is
characterized more by avoidance than by intentional hostility. (Levin, Shana). A very interesting point
made, most people today could be considered averse racists. While they do not mean to intentionally
have negative thoughts about minorities, there is a deep subconscious thought about fearing those who
aren t the same as them. People don t like it if things are different, and different kinds of people can
cause fear and anger to a group who is generally the majority, There s something in our world that
makes men lose their heads they couldn t be fair if they tried. In our courts, when it s a white man s
word against a black man s, the white man always wins. (Lee, 225). On another note, Levin discusses
two more types of racism called symbolic and modern. Symbolic racists express anti black feelings in
adulthood through beliefs that blacks are violating the traditional American values due to the fact that
negative feelings about black people were held throughout early childhood (Levin, Shana). Most
likely during the time when segregation was a huge issue, kids were taught that they weren t allowed
to play with other kids that don t have the same skin as them. Some people from older generations can
be considered to be symbolic racists. On a more relevant note, modern racism is what generally occurs
in today s society. Those who are modern racists believe that they aren t racist since they don t hold

  • 2. Presidential Election Results How Did Pollsters Get It Wrong? On last November 8th, the results of presidential election were a surprise and shock to most people around the world, especially US residents because they consistently projected Hillary Clinton would defeated Donald Trump. According to the article Presidential Election Results: Donald J. Trump Wins in The New York Times, the total votes for Clinton were 62,391,335 (48%) and for Trump were 61,125,956 (47%). However, in contrast to earlier predictions, some states elected to Trump instead of Clinton, and this result brought victory for Trump in the last hours of election day. In details, Trump had 6 electoral votes from Iowa, 10 electoral votes from Wisconsin, 18 electoral votes from Ohio, 20 electoral votes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is a great deal of speculation but no clear answers as to the cause of the disconnect, but there is one point of agreement: Across the board, polls underestimated Trump s level of support. , said Andrew Mercer, Claudia Deane and Kyley McGeeney authors on their article Why 2016 election polls missed their mark in Pew Research Center. They also gave some several possible explanations for the misstep. The first factor might be what pollsters refer to as nonresponse bias. Some groups, include the less educated voters who were a key demographic for Trump on Election Day, are consistently hard for pollsters to reach. Then, the result would be a strongly pro Trump segment of the population that simply did not show up in the polls in proportion to their actual share of the population. The next factor was many of those who were polled simply were not honest about whom they intended to vote for. The explanation for this factor was support for Trump was socially undesirable, and that his supporters were unwilling to admit their support to pollsters . In 1982, a similar case occurred in the gubernatorial election in California. Democrat Tom Bradley, the black mayor of Los Angeles, lost to Republican George Deukmejian despite having been ahead in the polls even though the voters were reluctant to tell interviewers that they were not going to vote for a black candidate. The third factor involves the way pollsters identify likely voters. Because we can t know in advance who is actually going to vote, pollsters develop models predicting who is going to vote and what the electorate will look like on Election Day. This is a notoriously difficult task, and small differences in assumptions can produce sizable differences in election ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Dolores Mercado curated this exhibition. The exhibition was about the Mexican day of the dead . Many Mexican people believe that life still continues after death and they celebrate it as the holiday day of the dead each year. Every year, the day of the dead exhibition in the National Museum of Mexican Art has a different subtopic. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Both the whole arrangement of the exhibition and artworks are effective for showing the main idea of the exhibition. The different wall colorings in different rooms in this exhibition can give viewers fruitful visual experiences. The warm color atmosphere around the exhibition makes us forget about the fear and sorrow of death. Different rooms have different mediums of artworks. This gives the exhibition an outstanding rhythm that is different from normal exhibitions, which would not make this exhibition stiff. The artworks in this exhibition do not only reflect the theme but also make a good interaction with the viewers¬ especially the sculpture work We are Earth and Earth with Fire makes Stone: Ayotzinapa lives, the struggle continues. Governments all around the world boast of all the work they are doing for their country, bringing up GDP, employment rate and promising even more. However, when the issue of homelessness is brought up, governments shy away, pretending that it is barely an issue in the country. Unfortunately, Canada is one of those countries. A study done in 2014 on the issue of homelessness in Canada found that approximately 235, 000 Canadians will experience homelessness in a year, with over 35, 000 Canadians homeless on any given night. However, affordable housing needs money. For not only governments, but people in all sorts of positions, there exists a hesitance to put money into a situation in which one does not immediately benefit. Government s are more willing to spend millions on fighter aircrafts, for example, than invest into their own people. Such behavior begs the question of what the priority of the government is. Ironically, ignoring the homelessness issue in Canada costs the Canadian economy over $7 billion per year. (Canadian Observatory on Homelessness, 6) The Canadian Government has invested in the issue of homelessness, increasing the number of temporary shelters, investing in longer hospital stay, emergency healthcare and various other programs to aid in this issue. However, the rate of homelessness continues to grow; this implies that what has been done is simply not enough. Temporary shelters, similar to their name, are temporary. A homeless person, temporarily, has a place to sleep; however, temporarily does not solve the issue of homelessness. Programs like temporary shelters and emergency healthcare are costing the Government billions each year and not aiding in the fight to end homelessness. This was a period of Athenian political hegemony, economic growth and cultural flourishing formerly known as the Golden Age of Athens or The Age of Pericles. The period began in 480 BC when an Athenian led coalition of city states, known as the Delian League, defeated the Persians at Salamis. As the fifth century wore on, what started as an alliance of independent city states gradually became an Athenian empire. Eventually, Athens abandoned the pretense of parity among its allies and relocated the Delian League treasury from Delos to Athens, where it funded the building of the AthenianAcropolis. Institutions The magistrates The magistrates were people who occupied a public post and formed the administration of the Athenian state. They were submitted to rigorous public control. The magistrates were chosen by lot, using fava beans. Black and white beans were put in a box and depending on which color the person drew out they obtained the post or not. This was a way of eliminating the personal influence of rich people and possible intrigues and use of favors. There were only two categories of posts not chosen by lot, but by election in the Popular Assembly. These were strategos, or general, and magistrate of finance. It was generally supposed that significant qualities were needed to exercise each of those two offices. A magistrate s post did not last more than a year, including that of the strategoi and in this sense the continued selection of Pericles year after year was an exception. • 9. Problems Associated With Road Traffic Injuries 1.2. Problem Statement In Makueni County a considerable burden of diseases is caused by injuries and other life threatening emergencies. Over two hundred patients with road traffic injuries are received in the health facilities for definitive treatment in a year as per the occurrence register at the County Ambulance Call Centre. The accidents are mainly along the major roads such as Nairobi Mombasa highway, Makindu Wote road and Wote Machakos roads. Although the patients who need emergency care are often handled by the bystanders who come to their aid, some of the victims die on the scene of the accident while others on transit to health facilities. Sometimes, the patients transferred to the health facilities cannot be managed satisfactorily and about a quarter of them require secondary urgent transfer to other health facilities either due lack of facilities or expertise. This often leads to a tremendous loss of time, waste of resources, lack of effectiveness; hence aggravating the injuries sustained resulting to complications or even death. The crash related complications often result to long hospital delays and hence exert pressure on hospital facilities. The research is therefore aimed at determining the status of pre hospital emergency care for persons experiencing road traffic injuries and will in turn help to improve the quality of emergency medical services, save life, avert disability and other complications resulting from these emergencies. 1.3. Internal crowdsourcing is easier to implement in companies where social media acceptance is high (Yap, 2012); crowdsourcing attempts within companies don t measure up to the external crowd (Boudreau and Lakhani, 2013). Crowdsourcing forms such as idea marketplaces and idea jams lack the capabilities and fall short to the external crowd s full capacity. Boudreau and Lakhani (2013) believes employees are discouraged from seeking challenges; Yap (2012) says that internal crowdsourcing unveil innovations from employees which otherwise would not be captured. A well known passage from his book includes someone noticing a watch on the ground and anyone would assume that the watch was made by someone else. He connects this to the creation of life and everything we know, to God s creations. That God made humans and everything else in this world, maybe as explained in the Biblical text of Genesis. According to Paley, God is our benevolent creator, but what if everything existed before hand and God had nothing to do with it? It is hard to tell what is true, following Paley and Christianity or the idea of true science and evolution. In Paley s time, Natural Theology was an established field of study, though it is now either neglected or known under another name. It can be defined as the branch of philosophy and theology which attempts to prove God s existence, define God s attributes, or derive correct doctrine based solely from human reason and/or observations of the natural world. If classical theology is concerned with a study of the scriptures, then natural theology is the attempt to derive theological ideas from nature, without reference to scripture. The point of being frenzied or hysterical crowd is to feel solidarity and to form a community outside of their everyday life. According to the ethnography of Bruce Springsteen fans, the author quoted a meaning of being the Springsteen fan; Ruth Finnegan (1989) has pointed out the importance of people s devotion to certain musical worlds , in which they play in or follow a local musical group or listen to certain musical genre, as a way to shape personal and communal identity (Cavicchi, 1998, p.4). In addition to this general explanation of music fans, Cavicchi explained, among Springsteen fans, the idea of connection means more than just having an affinity for Springsteen s music; it means making the music a deeply felt part of one s life, of having an ongoing, shared relationship with Springsteen the artist (Cavicchi, p.41). • 15. Interlations And The Impacts Of Wind And Ocean Interactions 2.1 Wind and ocean interactions When wind is experienced it mainly impacts the surface waters in the ocean, these waters are subject to movement. Due to the effects of the Coriolis force air movement is deflected to the left in the southern hemisphere. A phenomenon known as the Ekman spiral is initiated once water at the surface begins to move. This surface movement initiates the bottom water layers to move as well to the left of the force that is driving it. In addition, the Ekman spiral movement begins to weaken at deeper water depths. The Ekman spiral force is directed downwards where it operates at right angles to the wind, where in the southern hemisphere it operates to the left. Evidently the physical atmospheric environment, the wind, interacts with the ocean altering ocean current speed and the way in which water in its various depths are mixed together (Wanninkhof, 1992). 2.2 Circulation of the thermohaline In addition to circulation driven by the wind in oceans there is circulation that exists due to convection. These convection differences exist as a result of alterations in water density which differs according to temperature and salinity adjustments present at the surface of the ocean. Downward convection, the movement of heat energy, is administered by the size of what is known as the thermocline which is commonly referred to as a temperature gradient. This temperature gradient can be seen in figures 1.1 and 1.2 and it distinguishes warmer surface water from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Many people had tiny friends and family circles that other respected and didn t want to break apart. But, my dear, pray do not make any more matches; they are silly things, and break up one s family 1) circle grievously (Austen 23), shows people valued small family circles and did not wish others to interfere with their families. Another time small family circles were described was when Jane Austen wrote, He liked very much to have his friends come and see him; and from various united causes, from his long residence at Hartfield, and his good nature, from his fortune, his house, and his daughter, he could command the visits of his own little 2) circle, in a great measure, as he liked (Austen 34). People also valued small circles because they could choose when to see their family members and did not have to feel overwhelmed. He had not much intercourse with any families beyond that 3) circle; his horror of late hours, and large dinner parties, made him unfit for any acquaintance but such as would visit him on his own terms (Austen 34), this displays the fear that most people felt in large groups and with having large circles. Small circles were preferred because it was easier to control what happened within and see family members more frequently. Even though circles were very small, they were ranked highest to lowest. A cousin of Mr. Suckling, Mrs. Bragge, had such an infinity of applications; everybody was anxious to be in her family, for she moves in the first 4) circle (Austen 504). • 17. Classical Conditioning In Relation to Distrust in... Classical conditioning is the theory that involves a subject learning a new behavior by the process of association. A naturally occuring stimulus (the unconditioned stimulus) is paired with a response (the unconditioned response). Then, a neutral stimulus (the conditioned stimulus) is paired with the unconditioned stimulus and eventually the conditioned stimulus produces the initial response of the unconditioned stimulus without the unconditioned stimulus being present. The response, therefore, becomes the conditioned response. This study had a major influence on the psychological study of behaviorism. After strengthening the association between the US and the CS by repetition, Little Albert eventually became fearful and upset when only presented with the once neutral stimulus, the white rat. This response was the CR which marked the completion of step three. Little Albert was now afraid of the white rat because it triggered his fear of the loud noise. In diagnostic surgery they take a small tissue sample and send it through direct testing. To go along with diagnostic surgery there is staging surgery to find out what stage the cancer is, these two surgeries usually go hand in hand. Surgery can also be used to take out parts of cancer that have been shrunk by other types of treatment, speeding up the treatment process and bringing the cancer treatment to later stages sooner. The phrase one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. seems a little odd. Aversive racism refers to the unintentional expression of these anti black feelings by people who sincerely endorse, on a conscious level, egalitarian values and principles. Rather than bigotry or hatred, the anti black feelings held by aversive racists reflect fear and discomfort, their discriminatory behavior towards blacks is characterized more by avoidance than by intentional hostility. (Levin, Shana). A very interesting point made, most people today could be considered averse racists. While they do not mean to intentionally have negative thoughts about minorities, there is a deep subconscious thought about fearing those who aren t the same as them. People don t like it if things are different, and different kinds of people can cause fear and anger to a group who is generally the majority, There s something in our world that makes men lose their heads they couldn t be fair if they tried. In our courts, when it s a white man s word against a black man s, the white man always wins. (Lee, 225). On another note, Levin discusses two more types of racism called symbolic and modern. Symbolic racists express anti black feelings in adulthood through beliefs that blacks are violating the traditional American values due to the fact that negative feelings about black people were held throughout early childhood (Levin, Shana). Most likely during the time when segregation was a huge issue, kids were taught that they weren t allowed to play with other kids that don t have the same skin as them. Some people from older generations can be considered to be symbolic racists. On a more relevant note, modern racism is what generally occurs in today s society.
