state America s problems are found within the Values, Students, and Society. These problems come at
a time when the Cold War threatened them, and while the South struggled with racial bigotry. The
student body writes about ideals being pushed on them from professors who fall behind with the
times. In classes, where they believe they should have the freedom to be idealistic, they are instead
met with resistance to change. As students, they also feel they give no contribution to the real world.
