The Exorcist-Personal Narrative
Come on Violet, just one. My best friend Frank pleaded. He had spent most of the afternoon trying to
convince me to watch a horror movie. I put up with a lot of his crap as it was, what made him think
that I was going to watch one of those stupid films? Frank, for the last time, I m not watching it. I was
relatively brave. Not much scared me, but horror movies they were a different story. I turned to Frank,
who was sitting on the edge of my bed, pouting like a sad puppy. He knew I couldn t resist that face. I
rolled my eyes. Fine. Just one. Yes! He jumped off my bed, doing a little dance along the way. Which
one should we watch? I brought tons. Here, He unzipped his backpack and piled out movie after

The Effects of Violent Video Games on Young Children
Violence in video games is among one of the most controversial and discussed topics up to this day.
Many believe that the violence in said video game is an exact consequence of a child s behavior. There
has been proof that violence seen in young children has increased in the United States over the years,
however, this could be due to a multitude of other factors. Research and a meta analysis find positive
linkages between children s and young adults violent video game play and aggressive cognitions,
aggressive affect, aggressive behaviors, and desensitization to violence. Due to the rising levels of
aggression, it leads children to believe that violence is the way to deal with issues. The time children
spend on these new media is ten times as much as the time they spend on, for instance, reading for
pleasure. The violent nature of the television programs and video games to which children are exposed
is of specific concern (Polman et al. 256). The result is that limitations and barriers are placed to tone
down accessibility to these games, the limitations being the Entertainment Software Rating Board
(ESRB) rating system. The ratings are listed here E (rated for everyone), E10+ (for everyone 10 years
and older), T (appropriate for teens), M (mature), and AO (adults only).
With the assistance of these ratings and barriers, parents are finding

Managerial Accounting And The Certified Management
Managerial accounting is used by an organization to ensure informed decisions are made regarding
current and future operations. Businessmen and women must have the ability to comprehend financial
information provided to properly determine the correct course of action. In the global market of today,
an organization s inability to accurately determine the best course of action can lead to financial ruin
for the company. Uninformed decisions by leadership can derail a business prospects for success in
the future. Business leaders must understand the differences between managerial and financial
accounting, additional information needed for internal purposes, the evolution of managerial
accounting, and the Certified Management (CMA) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An example of this is preparing next year s budget in the current year so leaders are informed of any
constraints in the upcoming year. Documents created in financial accounting must adhere to
regulations such as GAAP and IFRS. Once completed, these documents are verified by a certified
public accountant (CPA) annually. These reports are summaries of the organization s performance as a
unit and concentrate on sufficient disclosure of required information. Managerial accounting
documents are not regulated by guiding principles. They are generally presented in a cost benefit
analysis format. There is no audit of these documents as they are for internal use only. These reports
are more detailed than the documents in financial accounting and often provide performance
information on each department and shift of an organization over a relatively short time frame. The
goal of this information is to provide any course corrections before issues or problems become out of
control. These differences in the sectors of accounting lead to a difference in the need and use of
information for internal purposes.
Since managerial accounting is intended for different recipients than financial accounting, the type of
information needed and used in managerial accounting is different. Managerial accounting involves
cost management, activity management, and investment management. Cost accounting is a shared
input between financial and management accounting. The information

How Does Prospero Change In The Tempest
In Shakespeare s play, The Tempest , Prospero, the main character, is the rightful Duke of Milan. He
found refuge on a distant island after his brother, Antonio, seized Prospero s title and homeland. These
events and experiences of being exiled advance character to become isolated and enriched at the same
time. As a comic hero, Prospero start off as being frustrated and vengeful due to his separation from
his title and homeland, but is later refined due to those experiences.
Antonio s dethroning of Prospero is not only the reason why Prospero is alienated but it also is a great
example about the theme of betrayal that is prominent in the book. Antonio s betrayal in particular,
serves as the source of conflict for the play. Prospero creates ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Prospero s intentions throughout the play was to seek out vengeance towards his brother and all those
who helped him in his betrayal. Through the work of Ariel, Prospero was able to capture those he
shipwrecked but decides to forgive them. He also forgives Caliban after plotting to kill him while
serving another master, these acts of change are key to the improvement and empowerment Prospero
learns after being on the island. The is a growth and arch shown about the character as he states, The
rarer action is in virtue than in vengeance. Prospero also shows enrichment of character when he sets
Ariel free after commanding him to make smooth sailing upon the return to Naples and Milan,
contrasting to the beginning of the play when Prospero seems ungrateful about the service of Ariel.
The problem Prospero had that paved the way to him being exiled, was his obsession with studying
his art/magic. It is through his experience on the island where he finally comes to realize that the
source and self improvement that he needed to make was giving up his magic. This is symbolized by
the throwing away of his books and his plea to the audience to release him from his bands . By giving
up his magic, the reason he couldn t be an affective Duke, shows how his alienation on the island
benefited him by allowing him to focus on his role and duty as

Gomer s Argument In Hosea Prostitution
Hosea married a woman with the characteristics that God had instructed him. In Hosea 1:2 God says,
Go, marry a promiscuous woman and have children with her, for like an adulterous wife this land is
guilty of unfaithfulness to the Lord So, Hosea married a woman, Gomer, who was a prostitute and
who bore 2 sons, Jazreel and Lo Ammi, and a daughter Lo Ruhamah. Gods instruction of marriage for
Hosea is suggestive of the fact that Gomer was a prostitute because God describes her as a
promiscuous and an adulterous woman. Further indication that may suggest that Gomer was a
prostitute in Hosea 3:3 where Hosea says, ...you must not be a prostitute...
I believe that the woman in Hosea 3 is in fact Gomer. This is because in Hosea 3:1 the Lord says,

Use of Language in Immigration
USE OF LANGUAGE IN IMMIGRATION RHETORIC
1.0 Introduction
American society has developed as a result of continued waves of immigration. It therefore seems
logical that Americans should have positive attitudes towards immigration. Immigration allows for
sharing of ideas and cultures within society. However, in recent years, the trend of undocumented
immigration has taken an effect on the economic and social development of American society. During
the debates in the fun up to the 2013 elections, the democrat and republican candidates are finding
themselves locked over divisive opinions on the issue. This paper discusses the effects of language in
immigration rhetoric on the perception held by people about immigration. Different words presented
to the public in different ways (positive or negative) imply their own meanings.
2.0 Stereotyping and Negative Attitudes about Immigrants
The use of language with reference to this phenomenon has potential for influencing social attitudes
towards immigrants and is therefore being discussed on the media. According to Bennion, the use of
the term alien is the acceptable way to describe foreigners who have entered the United States without
proper documentation. The use of terms like illegal immigrants or undocumented immigrants is
erroneous because it acknowledges their status as immigrants. In addition, the use of terms such as
illegal is also better avoided. Such terms are loaded with negativity and are likely to build negative

Natural Language Processing ( Nlp )
CHAPTER1: INTRODUCTION
Natural Language Processing (NLP) deals with actual text element processing. The text element is
transformed into machine format by NLP. Artificial Intelligence (AI) uses information provided by the
NLP and applies a lot of maths to determine whether something is positive or negative. Several
methods exist to determine an author s view on a topic from natural language textual information.
Some form of machine learning approach is employed and which has varying degree of effectiveness.
One of the types of natural language processing is opinion mining which deals with tracking the mood
of the people regarding a particular product or topic. This software provides automatic extraction of
opinions, emotions and sentiments in text and also tracks attitudes and feelings on the web. People
express their views by writing blog posts, comments, reviews and tweets about all sorts of different
topics. Tracking products and brands and then determining whether they are viewed positively or
negatively can be done using web. The opinion mining has slightly different tasks and many names,
e.g. sentiment analysis, opinion extraction, sentiment mining, subjectivity analysis, affect analysis,
emotion analysis, review mining, etc.
However, they all come under the umbrella of sentiment analysis or opinion mining. Sentiment
classification, feature based sentiment classification and opinion summarization are few main fields of
research predominate in sentiment analysis.

How Loss And Death Affect The Lyric And Sonnet
This source discussed the sonnet and lyric (the basis of my project.) It states that a lyric is the genre of
internal and individualized emotions. It s seen as a moment of personal experience. (33) The
traditional emotion that is associated with the sonnet is love. Both the lyric and the sonnet are
connected with song and music. I want to go more in depth on how loss and death can affect the lyric
and sonnet as well, without going into elegy land. This source was very informative on the basics of a
sonnet and a lyric such as how the sonnet has a twist and the lyric is more problematic than one would
think. What more goes into a lyric then? (MAYBE) The approach this source is taking is showing the
ways a sonnet represents and doesn t represent a lyric. How exactly are they different and the same?
Sonnets are a lyric because of the emotional base put into them. It mentions that in the Romantic
peiord, sonnets were not blank verse and strayed from the conventional form. They used everyday
language. That brings up the question as to how did that incorporate into Keats sonnets? This source
also begs the question, which I agree with, who determines when something is a lyric or a sonnet?
(28) The lyric was something that could be private or social. What made a sonnet more intimate
between reader and poet (though many sonnets were published in newspapers, especially during the
Romantic period.) The length can prove to be a problem for sonnets is an issue that this source

Health Information Technology For Economic And Clinical...
In the past, our healthcare distribution system predicated its payments solely on the number of
accommodations provided and not on the quality of care distributed to patients. As a result, patients
might receive redundant tests, medication errors, or accommodations that might not ameliorate their
health and may cost them more in copayments or coinsurance. As required by the Affordable Care Act,
Health and Human Services (HHS) launched several initiatives to link payments more proximately
with quality outcomes and promote value predicated care. These reforms promote value over volume
and ascertain that care is better coordinated across the healthcare distribution system (Health IT,
2013). As a result the government is looking to influence innovation and best practices to enhance
administration, quality and patient engagement, while securing protection and minimizing expenses
(Nir Menachemi and Taleah H. Collum, 2011). This influential innovation is in direct response to the
Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act of 2009. Therefore
in this paper one will evaluate the current state of the infrastructure in workflow and processes;
identify the existing gaps and issues within the environment, provide solutions for improvement in

can change the current health care infrastructure. This evaluation will display the current state of the

Plate Tectonics Evolve
How Did the Theory of Plate Tectonics Evolve? The theory of plate tectonics evolved out of the
theory of continental drift. Alfred Wegener originally proposed the theory that continents move over
time in 1912 after observing that many coastlines on opposite sides of the ocean appeared to match up
like puzzle pieces. He formed the theory of continental drift based on evidence, such as the fact that
fossils of the same species of plant or land animals are found across oceans, on different continents.
Unfortunately, Wegener s theory was largely ignored in part because it did not explain how or why the
continents moved. Over the next 50 years, however, scientists continued to collect evidence that
suggested he may have been right. For example,

Summer Camp
It was summer of 2013 and it was my first time traveling alone. I was going to Champéry,

hear their jiggling bells.
As I reached the camp, the manager was there greeting the new arrivals and the place we were staying

Confused Congregation By William Shakespeare
Confused Congregation During Shakespeare s time, the Protestant religion was required to be
followed by law. This protestant religion provided the view to its followers that their lives were
controlled by a predestined fate. The people were totally helpless in their movements in their lives
who already had a path laid out in front of them and they could do nothing to divert the path. This
truth of the protestant movement was in a constant rivalry with the opposing view of Catholicism. The
catholic view and belief is that the path of life is freely chosen not dependent or controlled by some
force or fate. This struggle and this confusion with which religion, with its two opposing factors of
fate versus free will along with their contrasting ornate and historic ceremony and traditions, is seen
and demonstrated in all its glory by the characters and plot in many of Shakespeare s plays. This
confusion, due to the flip flopping of religions and the nostalgia involved as one religion is replaced
with another in a seemingly unending cycle during Shakespeare s time, creates the hodgepodge
religious backdrop for his plays. The struggle of religion was real during Shakespeare s time. The
constant back and forth of the protestant and catholic views stemmed straight from the top. The
monarch of England was calling the shots of which religion was best for England based on the
monarch s own advantages or disadvantages of each religion. Queen Mary I (1553) believed in

Conducting A Norm Experiment
In today s society, norms are expected by everyone. According to the book Essentials of Sociology a
Down To Earth Approach, Hansen states that norms are expectations of right behavior (Hansen, 2014).
There are also two forms of norms that may be strictly enforced or not. There is folkways and mores.
Folkways are norms that aren t strictly enforced while mores are strictly enforced for essential thought
to care values or the well being of a group (Hansen, 2014). Along with a norm and the two types, there
may also be reactions to it. These reactions may be positive or negative and termed as sanctions.
Sanctions are either expressions of an approval given to people for upholding norms or expression of
disapproval for violating them (Hansen, 2014). In conducting a norm experiment, the terms were put
to a test. The experiment consisted of an observed norm violation and an individual norm violation.
The experiments resulted in what I had hypothesized. My hypothesis consisted of sanctions of the
norms that were conducted.
In the observe norm violation experiment, it was concluded to result in negative sanction. The
experiment consisted of a friend of mine and I ordering our lunch at In n Out. It was my friend, Denise
s turn to order her meal. Denise ordered a double double with no cheese, no thousand island spread, a
single patty and only onions, tomatoes, and lettuce. The employee looked at her in a dumbfound

Justification in The Old and New Testaments Essays
When a man is justified before God, he is declared not guilty with reference to the sins he has
committed against God. Amazingly, God s not guilty verdict does not relate to just one crime, but to
every sin the justified man has ever committed or will commit. Paul declares that we have no penalty
to pay for sin, which includes past, present or future sins that we may commit. Those who have been
justified by faith, There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Rom.
8:1). Therefore, if we are justified there is no penalty to pay for sin and we are free to any charge of
guilt or condemnation. Douglas Moo writes it beautifully, Because we are justified by faith in

Abraham inherited his sinful nature through Adam, so he was sentenced to a physical and spiritual
death. Abraham was credited righteousness by being obedient to the Law of God.
In Genesis 6:8 it describes God and Noah s relationship, But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.
In Hebrews 11:7 it states, By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in
reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this he condemned the world and
became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith. Noah was righteous through his faith. Noah
was not righteous by his works or obedience to God.
Paul quotes David as a blessing in Romans 4:6 8, just as David also speaks of the blessing of the one
to whom God counts righteousness apart from works: Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are
forgiven, and whose sins are covered; blessed is the man against whom the Lord will not count his sin.
Paul introduces David as a example of righteousness by faith. Paul cites Ps. 32:1 2 to demonstrate that
David s righteousness was not based on his works. This demonstrates the idea of full forgiveness of
sins is prominent when Paul discusses justification by faith alone.
In Psalm 14:1 3 David says every person sins. Also, David states in

They Live By John Carpenter Essay
In the 1988 science fiction film They Live, filmmaker John Carpenter addresses and criticizes
homelessness among other issues of the times in the United States. Through the movie, John
Carpenter immerses his audience into his vision of what the 1980 s American culture is. Political
views portrayed mainly come from the disdain Carpenter feels towards Reagan s policies. He portrays
the American people as a naïve people who are consistently deceived by a corrupt social and
economic environment. Their abusers are portrayed as aliens who have control over them. Carpenter
shows that average American citizens are under governmental control and are taught through

His plan of action called for a market that was free and deregulated, rather than government assisted.
The budget for pubic housing was cut in half Reagan s first year in office, and throughout his
presidency, he attempted to put a stop to housing assistance entirely. By 1985, there were only 5.6
million low cost housing units available, while there were nearly 9 million people who needed access
to these households. This lead to the homeless legacy of Reagan; the late 1980 s saw a great increase
in the number of homeless individuals, many of which were veterans and laid off workers. (2) On a
talk show in 1984, President Reagan tried to defend himself stating, People who are sleeping on the
grates...the homeless...are homeless, you might say, by choice. This offensive statement of blaming the
poor for economic problems only made those who were against him, more outspoken in their ridicule.
Economic prosperity was credited to Reagan. However, the growth that occurred mostly benefited
those who were already in favorable circumstances. The income gap grew between the classes and
poverty rates increased. Cities with rent control, on average, have two and a half times more homeless
people as cities without them. This is an example of how governmental control has a negative and
severe impact on the people. When rent control is imposed, homelessness increases by 250 percent.

Chilean Mining Cons
Mining had been practicied for centuries already and has helped humans develop through civilizations
and years of innovation. Even though we have been the benficiaries of mining, there has been a catch
to all of this. Mining isnt beneficial because of companies treating miners really bad and because of its
harm to the environment, therefore creating more of a danger to us. Even if the mining industry seems
to never have an end to it, it can surpressed, in order to ensure a better environment for future
generations to come. Mining is harmful to humanity because of a cruelty to miners in the industries.
According to Mining In Chile The Pros And Cons the article talks about the Chilean mining collapse
and how the miners ended up spending 69 days spent trapped. According to the article it says Between
2004 and 2010, the San Esteban Mining Company (owner of the San Jose mine) received 42 fines for
breaching safety regulations. Why was the San Jose accident allowed to happen? Due to budget

Word Frequency and the Generation Effect Essay
WORD FREQUENCY AND THE GENERATION EFFECT
ABSTRACT
This report aimed to investigate the generation effect occurs for low frequency words. The experiment
used a sample of 117 second year Research Method students from Birkbeck Univerity in within and
between subject design. There were two independent variables, read and generate items and two
dependant variables, low and high frequency. This data was analyzed with related sample t test to
examine whether the generation effect occurs for low frequency words and independent sample t test
to investigate whether there is a difference between generation effect with low and high frequency
words. The results show that there is significant difference between generate and read condition ...

They rejected the lexical activation hypothesis stating that the generation effect may be dependent
upon familiarity and associations of the to be remembered items with other words and concepts.
Therefore, would the generation effect occur for low frequency words if they were more familiar for
the subject?
Furthermore, the aim of this report is to carry out the experiment on the word frequency in generation
effect and to find out whether there is generation effect for low frequency words and whether the
difference between word frequency level has an influence on the occurrence of the generation effect.
Hypothesis 1 : the generation effect will be present with low frequency words.
Hypothesis 2: the generation effect is smaller for low frequency words than for high frequency words.
Null hypothesis 1: there will be no generation effect for low frequency words.
Null hypothesis 2: there will be no difference between generation effect in low and high frequency
words.
METHOD
Participants
A hundred and seventeen students at Birkbeck Univerity volunteered in the experiment held during
Research Method lecture.
Materials
The materials used in this experiment were fifty six concrete nouns taken from the Kucera and Francis
(1967) word count. There were four sets of the stimuli. Two sets were formed of 28 nouns having
counts of 67 or more (high frequency) and other two were 28 nouns having counts of 10 or fewer (low
frequency).

I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings Comparative Essay
Comparing Two Compelling Memoirists
A strong and influential memoirist is able to grasp the reader s attention and dive into topics bigger
than themselves. Maya Angelou, the author of I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, describes herself as
neither a hero nor a victim as she recollects her past. Growing up, Maya Angelou not only suffered
from white prejudice and gender inequality, she was presented with situations that made her feel
powerless. According to Angelou, The Black female is assaulted in her tender years by all those
common forces of nature at the same time that she is caught in the tripartite crossfire of masculine
prejudice, whites illogical hate and Black lack of power, (Angelou, 272). However, she found herself
persevering through all of the adversity she faced and accepted her reality: the fact that the adult
American Negro female emerges a formidable character is often met with amazement (Angelou, 272).
Angelou did an exceptional job of describing herself as neither a hero nor a victim in her memoir, I
Know Why the Caged Bird Sings.
Neither being a hero nor a victim as a protagonist is just one of the ways a strong and influential
memoirist is able to succeed at writing a memoir. A great memoirist also has to be able to utilize the ...

Implications Of Plato s Censorship Of Poetry In The Republic
In the Republic, Plato proposes the complete censorship of imitative poetry from his ideal city,
arguing that it corrupts individuals souls and therefore has a negative effect on society, resulting in
injustice within the city. Although seemingly trivial at first, when considered within its proper context,
the censorship of imitative poetry from the city would result in severe consequences. Throughout this
essay I will discuss the political and psychological implications of its censorship, and will also refute
Plato s argument, showing how it lacks soundness: notably, through a criticism of his epistemology.
Regarding the political implications of the censorship of poetry, I will draw from the ideas of Karl
Popper, who argued Plato to be one of the most influential philosophers on the emergence of
totalitarian regimes in the 20th century, laying the foundations for their very existence (K. Popper,
1945). I will also show how poets themselves have an important political role within cities, in that
they enable the general population to hold the state accountable for their actions. To discuss the
psychological implications of poetry s censorship, I will compare the contrasting views of Plato and
Aristotle regarding its effect on the soul, whereby Aristotle claims that poetry actually has beneficial,
cathartic effects. Following these criticisms, it will become apparent that Plato s proposed ban of
imitative poetry is indefensible.
Firstly, to fully understand Plato s proposal

Essay On Hostile Media Bias
People who perceive media bias will factor in the news source when they attempt to formulate
opinions of ideological bias in the news content. This idea is called the hostile media phenomenon or
hostile media effect. In a groundbreaking study in 1985, researchers, Vallone, Ross, and Lepper,
postulated that when there is a controversial issue, a partisan is more likely to perceive bias against
their viewpoint, even if the information is coming from an objective news source. The causes effects
of the hostile media are far ranging and several researchers have come to different conclusions about
them. Researchers like Kevin Coe, David Tewksbury, Bradley J. Bond, Kristin L. Drogos, Robert W.
Porter, Ashley Yahn, and Yuanyuan Zhang in their 2008 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The writers argue that the phenomenon appears to involve two separate mechanisms. They say, First,
partisans evaluated the fairness of the media s sample of facts and arguments differently: in light of
their own divergent views about the objective merits of each side s case and their corresponding views
about the nature of unbiased coverage (Vallone et al., 1985). Their second finding was that partisans
reported different perceptions and recollections about the program content itself; that is, each group
reported more negative references to their side than positive ones, and each predicted that the
coverage would sway nonpartisans in a hostile direction (Vallone et al., 1985). The researchers had the
viewers complete a questionnaire about the fairness and objectivity of the news programs after the
videotape was shown. They were asked questions about the standards applied to Israel in relation to
the standards applied to its adversaries, the amount of attention focused on Israel s role in the
massacre, the strength with which the positive case for and the negative case against Israel was
presented, and the apparent personal views of the editors responsible for the programs (Vallone et al.,
1985). The results of the study were scored from 1 9, 1 being biased against Israel and 9 being biased
in favor Israel. In every category, pro Israeli and pro Arab respondents had opposing viewpoints and
were always on the opposite sides of

United States Agency for International Development
When the Department of Defense awarded Halliburton subsidiaries billions of dollars to rebuild Iraq
in an uncompetitive bidding process, taxpayers and members of Congress alike cried foul. Liberals at
Swarthmore College bemoaned the mixture of domestic business interests with foreign policy and
reconstruction efforts. Initially, foreign companies were formally barred from the lucrative

allegations of overcharging for military meals and energy supplies. Where the DOD controls

American bilateral aid, in the form of outright grants or low interest loans, often comes highly
qualified and redirects wealth back to the United States by design. The United States no longer keeps
track of the level of tied aid, citing statistical difficulties, but USAID reports in 1996 estimated that
71.6% of bilateral aid commitments were tied to the purchase of US goods and services (ActionAid
1). In 1993, USAID generated seven billion dollars in revenue from purchase of American goods and
services and claimed it has created thousands of jobs...here at home (Hancock 156). Clearly, the
United States reaps a handsome reward from its foreign aid policy. Is this what we want from a
supposed exporter of development expertise and the richest country in the world?
The two most insidious manifestations of tied aid involve distortions of international markets
distortions which bring direct benefit to the United States. Tied aid often requires purchase of
American goods and services with markups above international prices. Conversely, tied aid can also
involve the sale of goods and services below international prices. Subsidized agricultural exports
belong to this category of foreign aid and were the subject of great debate and fury at this year s trade
talks in Cancun, Mexico.
Aid tied to the sale of expensive American products results in gross inefficiency: goods and services
purchased with tied aid tend to be priced well above their actual market value, with

Threat Assessment of Ping Sweeps and Port Scans Essay
Threat Assessment of Ping Sweeps and Port Scans Ping sweeps and port scans are two techniques that

Port Scanning Port scanning is technique used to identify any open or closed Transmission Control
Protocol (TCP) or User Datagram Protocol (UDP) network communication ports or services on a
network host device. For example, port number 110 is assigned to Post Office Protocol three (POP3)
for email client application communications on a network. There can be up to 65,000 ports any one
computer or host device and any unused open ports as determined by a port scan may allow a
malicious user unauthorized access to it. This is akin to an open window in a house whereas a burglar
can gain access to it ( Facts about port, ). Also, accessive port scanning can lead to a denial of service
(DoS) attack and not allow authorized users to access their data. Finally, there are again several utility
tools available to perform port scanning such as Nmap as mentioned previously or SolarWinds Port
scanner.
Firewall
To mitigate the security threat posed by ping sweeps and port scans it is highly recommended that
firewall protection on all network hosts devices should be enabled to close any unused ports to protect
them from unauthorized access. Also, is recommended that the use of a firewall server to protect the
network from any outside intruders be used as well. In conclusion, ping sweeping and port scanning
can threaten the security of a Business Enterprises network and steps

Taking a Look at Experimental Music
Experimental music is a term that refers to the music in the twentieth century that experiment with
components of music and creating new avenues for the composition of music. In the later part of the
essay, more shall be discuss on the area of experimenting sound and technique. Stylistic features of
each piece such as harmony, texture, timbre, form etc, will be presented alongside with the examples
of music to allow a better understanding towards experimental music.
Charles Ives is an American composer which could be called as one of the founders of experimental
music as he was one of the earliest composers to look in to this avenue. His inspiration for
experimental music was from his father whom teaches him theory and composition. He encourages
Ives to go on the route of experimenting with sounds. Ives explored new techniques regarding
harmony, rhythm and form. Innovations could be seen throughout his composing career but at the
same time, he preserves some of the traditional rules. In his early stage of composing, he wrote several
polytonal pieces which means the use two or more keys in different layers in his music. Ex. Varations
on America. Several new techniques that has been tried out by Ives includes the system of using all
possible chords from a single tonic note creating chords from intervals 2nd, 3rd 4th and so on. Below
is the example taken from Processional. Another of the new technique is the use of rhythmic layers.

Why Did Islam Spread Quickly Dbq Analysis
In 610 CE, a merchant named muhammad was meditating in a cave on mount. Hira found in the
Arabian Peninsula when the archangel Gabriel came with a message for muhammad telling him to

Islam grew but Islam spread much more quickly than other religions, but why? Some historians
believe that it spread quickly because of military conquest, while others are certain it was because of
trade routes all around the 3 continents. Then again it could have also been because of
treaties, taxes, and tolerations. Military Conquest,Treaties and Taxes and Tolerations, and trade routes

Differences Between Maori And Non Maori
Definition. Tikanga is a noun that means the proper traditional Maori way of doing things and
concerns Maori protocols of acceptable behaviour including the customary Maori values, obligations
and practices that have developed over time (Maori Dictionary, n.d.), (TKI, 2011). Two key aspects of
tikanga are manaakitanga and kaitiakitanga. Manaakitanga concerns hospitality and kindness towards
guests, kaitiakitanga is the sense of respect that Maori have for the environment (Te Ara, 2015).
Related concepts include mana (spiritual power or status), tapu (spiritual restriction) and mauri (life
force or principle). Three specific interactions. In the context of the case study, the following
interactions could take place: 1. Interaction One. Between Maori and non Maori. Aranui has about
11,000 inhabitants, some 17% Maori and 83% non Maori, and although the scenario makes no
mention of conflict as a consequence of different racial values, it is a potential concern that
development propositions could upset social cohesion and racial harmony if non Maori feel
discriminated against, perhaps due to local employment opportunities favouring Maori that become
available due to Maori business initiatives. A concern that only whanau will be employed.
Doubtlessly, some of the 83% non Maori population will resent the $10 million Treaty settlement.
Potentially, this interaction could be very positive should both Maori and non Maori see mutual
benefit in the development proposition.

Free Radical Research Paper
Free radicals are groups of atoms, molecules, or ions that possess an unpaired/unshared valence
electron in their electron orbitals. Due to this, many radicals are very reactive because they want to
reach a stable state. They can be classified as oxidants or reductants depending on whether they accept
electrons from other atoms or donate atoms. Free radicals can be produced by natural processes such
as metabolism. They are also generated from foods that we eat, water, medication, etc.
Free radicals are essential to the human body because they are important components of the immune
system and they also assist the body with the production of chemical energy. However, they can be

Educational Preparation For Nursing Education
The modern nursing profession has relied on the evolution of nursing education to shape the
knowledge and ideals of its practitioners. However, nursing education was not always at the level and
quality it is today. It took the hard work of historical nursing leaders to change the course of nursing
education. One of these leaders, May Adelaide Nutting, was instrumental in expanding nursing
education during the turn of the 20th century. Her work inspired new ideologies concerning nursing
education and implemented novel nursing practices, both of which have helped to shape nursing
education today. In the later years of the nineteenth century, hospitals primarily managed nursing
education in the form of training schools. Though described as schools, there was little formal
instruction, and the students served mostly as a cheap labor force (Nutting, 1926; Reverby, 1987).
Mary Adelaide Nutting recognized the need for better educational preparation for nurses in order to
help advance the nursing profession and began implementing changes to the training school model
when she became the superintendent of nurses at the Johns Hopkins Hospital Training School. In this
role, Nutting set out to enhance the training program to provide better educational preparation for the
students. She argued that the current structure served only the hospital s needs, and she emphasized
that nursing was the only profession without true educational preparation for its pupils (Nutting,
1926). Nutting

Comparing The Creation And The Story Of Genesis And Genesis
In the sacred scripture of both the Bible or the Hebrew Tanakh, the first two chapters of Genesis
consist of both the Creation, and the story of Adam and Eve. Despite one story being ordained to one
and another. Both the Creation, and the story of Adam and Eve can be compared on both their
similarities, the way how both stories can connect, and finally by their differences on connecting their
stories. When the author was writing the first chapter of Genesis, the author emphasized densely on
the creation of the world and how he wanted to show the creation of the humanity. By stating In the
beginning, God created the heaven and the earth (Genesis 1:1), later in the chapter, the statement that
was written in Genesis 1:1 would help transit to a new chapter in Genesis 2:4 which is the story of
Adam and Eve. As Genesis 2:4 states This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were
created, when the Lord God made heaven and the earth (Genesis 2:4), the transition from Genesis 1:1
to Genesis 2:4 showed the similarity on how the chapter started, by stating how God created the
heaven and the earth on the first day, and how in Adam and Eve the author stated how the world was
created by the creator himself as stated from the Bible Study Tool, None but the Creator himself could

For starters, I was born and raised in the most violent poverty stricken section of New York City, The
South Bronx. I managed to survive two epidemics, (the crack, and the aids epidemic). I was born in
the early seventies. The Bronx to me looked like a fucking warzone, a vast wasteland, where it was
not uncommon to see the rats roam free amongst the debris of the streets of New York City; along
with the huge water bugs (Cucarachas Grandes), it is what we Ricans in the hood use to call them.
These big ass roaches were disgusting; these motherfuckers had wings on them too. So them suckers
could fly and shit. I cringe as I writing this shit thinking about them nasty ass disgusting roaches. The
shit I had to deal with growing up in this bitch! I still remember, I swear to you guys going to the
bathroom was some scary ass shit, like a

Nfl Rule Changes
Rule changes in the NFL have been made throughout the history of the league to improve the game,
make it more exciting and reduce the risk of injury. Safety rules are one of the most important and
effective ways in which the NFL and its owners can help protect the health of players. By helping to
identify, promote and enforce safe on field conduct (in concert with off the field education and
policies), the league seeks to preserve both the health of players and the integrity of the game. The
NFL has established a strong set of rules through the years focused on player safety, designed to
promote fair competition while attempting to minimize risk of harm to the player. While many of
these rules have focused on reducing contact to the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

I put up with a lot of his crap as it was, what made him think that I was going to watch one of those stupid films? Frank, for the last time, I m not watching it. I was relatively brave. Not much scared me, but horror movies they were a different story. I turned to Frank, who was sitting on the edge of my bed, pouting like a sad puppy. He knew I couldn t resist that face. • 3. Violent Video Games On Children Gabriel Silva Janet Myszkowski English 1101 06 November 2017 The Effects of Violent Video Games on Young Children Violence in video games is among one of the most controversial and discussed topics up to this day. Many believe that the violence in said video game is an exact consequence of a child s behavior. There has been proof that violence seen in young children has increased in the United States over the years, however, this could be due to a multitude of other factors. Research and a meta analysis find positive linkages between children s and young adults violent video game play and aggressive cognitions, aggressive affect, aggressive behaviors, and desensitization to violence. Due to the rising levels of aggression, it leads children to believe that violence is the way to deal with issues. The time children spend on these new media is ten times as much as the time they spend on, for instance, reading for pleasure. The violent nature of the television programs and video games to which children are exposed is of specific concern (Polman et al. 256). The result is that limitations and barriers are placed to tone down accessibility to these games, the limitations being the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) rating system. The ratings are listed here E (rated for everyone), E10+ (for everyone 10 years and older), T (appropriate for teens), M (mature), and AO (adults only). With the assistance of these ratings and barriers, parents are finding ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Managerial Accounting And The Certified Management Managerial accounting is used by an organization to ensure informed decisions are made regarding current and future operations. Businessmen and women must have the ability to comprehend financial information provided to properly determine the correct course of action. In the global market of today, an organization s inability to accurately determine the best course of action can lead to financial ruin for the company. Uninformed decisions by leadership can derail a business prospects for success in the future. Business leaders must understand the differences between managerial and financial accounting, additional information needed for internal purposes, the evolution of managerial accounting, and the Certified Management (CMA) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An example of this is preparing next year s budget in the current year so leaders are informed of any constraints in the upcoming year. Documents created in financial accounting must adhere to regulations such as GAAP and IFRS. Once completed, these documents are verified by a certified public accountant (CPA) annually. These reports are summaries of the organization s performance as a unit and concentrate on sufficient disclosure of required information. Managerial accounting documents are not regulated by guiding principles. They are generally presented in a cost benefit analysis format. There is no audit of these documents as they are for internal use only. These reports are more detailed than the documents in financial accounting and often provide performance information on each department and shift of an organization over a relatively short time frame. The goal of this information is to provide any course corrections before issues or problems become out of control. These differences in the sectors of accounting lead to a difference in the need and use of information for internal purposes. Since managerial accounting is intended for different recipients than financial accounting, the type of information needed and used in managerial accounting is different. Managerial accounting involves cost management, activity management, and investment management. Cost accounting is a shared input between financial and management accounting. The information ... • 5. How Does Prospero Change In The Tempest In Shakespeare s play, The Tempest , Prospero, the main character, is the rightful Duke of Milan. He found refuge on a distant island after his brother, Antonio, seized Prospero s title and homeland. These events and experiences of being exiled advance character to become isolated and enriched at the same time. As a comic hero, Prospero start off as being frustrated and vengeful due to his separation from his title and homeland, but is later refined due to those experiences. Antonio s dethroning of Prospero is not only the reason why Prospero is alienated but it also is a great example about the theme of betrayal that is prominent in the book. Antonio s betrayal in particular, serves as the source of conflict for the play. Prospero creates ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Prospero s intentions throughout the play was to seek out vengeance towards his brother and all those who helped him in his betrayal. Through the work of Ariel, Prospero was able to capture those he shipwrecked but decides to forgive them. He also forgives Caliban after plotting to kill him while serving another master, these acts of change are key to the improvement and empowerment Prospero learns after being on the island. The is a growth and arch shown about the character as he states, The rarer action is in virtue than in vengeance. Prospero also shows enrichment of character when he sets Ariel free after commanding him to make smooth sailing upon the return to Naples and Milan, contrasting to the beginning of the play when Prospero seems ungrateful about the service of Ariel. The problem Prospero had that paved the way to him being exiled, was his obsession with studying his art/magic. It is through his experience on the island where he finally comes to realize that the source and self improvement that he needed to make was giving up his magic. This is symbolized by the throwing away of his books and his plea to the audience to release him from his bands . By giving up his magic, the reason he couldn t be an affective Duke, shows how his alienation on the island benefited him by allowing him to focus on his role and duty as ... In Hosea 1:2 God says, Go, marry a promiscuous woman and have children with her, for like an adulterous wife this land is guilty of unfaithfulness to the Lord So, Hosea married a woman, Gomer, who was a prostitute and who bore 2 sons, Jazreel and Lo Ammi, and a daughter Lo Ruhamah. Gods instruction of marriage for Hosea is suggestive of the fact that Gomer was a prostitute because God describes her as a promiscuous and an adulterous woman. • 8. Use of Language in Immigration USE OF LANGUAGE IN IMMIGRATION RHETORIC 1.0 Introduction American society has developed as a result of continued waves of immigration. It therefore seems logical that Americans should have positive attitudes towards immigration. Immigration allows for sharing of ideas and cultures within society. However, in recent years, the trend of undocumented immigration has taken an effect on the economic and social development of American society. During the debates in the fun up to the 2013 elections, the democrat and republican candidates are finding themselves locked over divisive opinions on the issue. This paper discusses the effects of language in immigration rhetoric on the perception held by people about immigration. Different words presented to the public in different ways (positive or negative) imply their own meanings. 2.0 Stereotyping and Negative Attitudes about Immigrants The use of language with reference to this phenomenon has potential for influencing social attitudes towards immigrants and is therefore being discussed on the media. According to Bennion, the use of the term alien is the acceptable way to describe foreigners who have entered the United States without proper documentation. The use of terms like illegal immigrants or undocumented immigrants is erroneous because it acknowledges their status as immigrants. In addition, the use of terms such as illegal is also better avoided. Such terms are loaded with negativity and are likely to build negative ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The text element is transformed into machine format by NLP. Artificial Intelligence (AI) uses information provided by the NLP and applies a lot of maths to determine whether something is positive or negative. Several methods exist to determine an author s view on a topic from natural language textual information. Some form of machine learning approach is employed and which has varying degree of effectiveness. One of the types of natural language processing is opinion mining which deals with tracking the mood of the people regarding a particular product or topic. This software provides automatic extraction of opinions, emotions and sentiments in text and also tracks attitudes and feelings on the web. People express their views by writing blog posts, comments, reviews and tweets about all sorts of different topics. Tracking products and brands and then determining whether they are viewed positively or negatively can be done using web. The opinion mining has slightly different tasks and many names, e.g. sentiment analysis, opinion extraction, sentiment mining, subjectivity analysis, affect analysis, emotion analysis, review mining, etc. However, they all come under the umbrella of sentiment analysis or opinion mining. • 10. How Loss And Death Affect The Lyric And Sonnet This source discussed the sonnet and lyric (the basis of my project.) It states that a lyric is the genre of internal and individualized emotions. It s seen as a moment of personal experience. (33) The traditional emotion that is associated with the sonnet is love. Both the lyric and the sonnet are connected with song and music. I want to go more in depth on how loss and death can affect the lyric and sonnet as well, without going into elegy land. This source was very informative on the basics of a sonnet and a lyric such as how the sonnet has a twist and the lyric is more problematic than one would think. What more goes into a lyric then? (MAYBE) The approach this source is taking is showing the ways a sonnet represents and doesn t represent a lyric. How exactly are they different and the same? Sonnets are a lyric because of the emotional base put into them. It mentions that in the Romantic peiord, sonnets were not blank verse and strayed from the conventional form. They used everyday language. That brings up the question as to how did that incorporate into Keats sonnets? This source also begs the question, which I agree with, who determines when something is a lyric or a sonnet? (28) The lyric was something that could be private or social. What made a sonnet more intimate between reader and poet (though many sonnets were published in newspapers, especially during the Romantic period.) The length can prove to be a problem for sonnets is an issue that this source ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Health Information Technology For Economic And Clinical... In the past, our healthcare distribution system predicated its payments solely on the number of accommodations provided and not on the quality of care distributed to patients. As a result, patients might receive redundant tests, medication errors, or accommodations that might not ameliorate their health and may cost them more in copayments or coinsurance. As required by the Affordable Care Act, Health and Human Services (HHS) launched several initiatives to link payments more proximately with quality outcomes and promote value predicated care. These reforms promote value over volume and ascertain that care is better coordinated across the healthcare distribution system (Health IT, 2013). As a result the government is looking to influence innovation and best practices to enhance administration, quality and patient engagement, while securing protection and minimizing expenses (Nir Menachemi and Taleah H. Collum, 2011). This influential innovation is in direct response to the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act of 2009. Therefore in this paper one will evaluate the current state of the infrastructure in workflow and processes; identify the existing gaps and issues within the environment, provide solutions for improvement in association with the present gaps zero cost and limitless budget, and recognize current technology that can change the current health care infrastructure. • 12. Plate Tectonics Evolve How Did the Theory of Plate Tectonics Evolve? The theory of plate tectonics evolved out of the theory of continental drift. Alfred Wegener originally proposed the theory that continents move over time in 1912 after observing that many coastlines on opposite sides of the ocean appeared to match up like puzzle pieces. He formed the theory of continental drift based on evidence, such as the fact that fossils of the same species of plant or land animals are found across oceans, on different continents. Unfortunately, Wegener s theory was largely ignored in part because it did not explain how or why the continents moved. Over the next 50 years, however, scientists continued to collect evidence that suggested he may have been right. For example, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As I reached the camp, the manager was there greeting the new arrivals and the place we were staying at was this big 4 floor wooden house. The staff there were so friendly and welcoming. Everyone there was from different parts of the world. In the first day, they gave us a chance to go around and socialize and get familiar with the place because it ll be my home for the next 5 weeks. • 15. Confused Congregation By William Shakespeare Confused Congregation During Shakespeare s time, the Protestant religion was required to be followed by law. This protestant religion provided the view to its followers that their lives were controlled by a predestined fate. The people were totally helpless in their movements in their lives who already had a path laid out in front of them and they could do nothing to divert the path. This truth of the protestant movement was in a constant rivalry with the opposing view of Catholicism. The catholic view and belief is that the path of life is freely chosen not dependent or controlled by some force or fate. This struggle and this confusion with which religion, with its two opposing factors of fate versus free will along with their contrasting ornate and historic ceremony and traditions, is seen and demonstrated in all its glory by the characters and plot in many of Shakespeare s plays. This confusion, due to the flip flopping of religions and the nostalgia involved as one religion is replaced with another in a seemingly unending cycle during Shakespeare s time, creates the hodgepodge religious backdrop for his plays. The struggle of religion was real during Shakespeare s time. The constant back and forth of the protestant and catholic views stemmed straight from the top. The monarch of England was calling the shots of which religion was best for England based on the monarch s own advantages or disadvantages of each religion. According to the book Essentials of Sociology a Down To Earth Approach, Hansen states that norms are expectations of right behavior (Hansen, 2014). There are also two forms of norms that may be strictly enforced or not. There is folkways and mores. Folkways are norms that aren t strictly enforced while mores are strictly enforced for essential thought to care values or the well being of a group (Hansen, 2014). Along with a norm and the two types, there may also be reactions to it. These reactions may be positive or negative and termed as sanctions. Sanctions are either expressions of an approval given to people for upholding norms or expression of disapproval for violating them (Hansen, 2014). In conducting a norm experiment, the terms were put to a test. The experiment consisted of an observed norm violation and an individual norm violation. The experiments resulted in what I had hypothesized. My hypothesis consisted of sanctions of the norms that were conducted. In the observe norm violation experiment, it was concluded to result in negative sanction. The experiment consisted of a friend of mine and I ordering our lunch at In n Out. Amazingly, God s not guilty verdict does not relate to just one crime, but to every sin the justified man has ever committed or will commit. Paul declares that we have no penalty to pay for sin, which includes past, present or future sins that we may commit. Those who have been justified by faith, There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus (Rom. 8:1). In Hebrews 11:7 it states, By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith. Noah was righteous through his faith. Noah was not righteous by his works or obedience to God. Paul quotes David as a blessing in Romans 4:6 8, just as David also speaks of the blessing of the one to whom God counts righteousness apart from works: Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered; blessed is the man against whom the Lord will not count his sin. Paul introduces David as a example of righteousness by faith. Paul cites Ps. 32:1 2 to demonstrate that David s righteousness was not based on his works. This demonstrates the idea of full forgiveness of sins is prominent when Paul discusses justification by faith alone. In Psalm 14:1 3 David says every person sins. Also, David states in ... By 1985, there were only 5.6 million low cost housing units available, while there were nearly 9 million people who needed access to these households. This lead to the homeless legacy of Reagan; the late 1980 s saw a great increase in the number of homeless individuals, many of which were veterans and laid off workers. This offensive statement of blaming the poor for economic problems only made those who were against him, more outspoken in their ridicule. Economic prosperity was credited to Reagan. However, the growth that occurred mostly benefited those who were already in favorable circumstances. The income gap grew between the classes and poverty rates increased. Implications Of Plato s Censorship Of Poetry In The Republic In the Republic, Plato proposes the complete censorship of imitative poetry from his ideal city, arguing that it corrupts individuals souls and therefore has a negative effect on society, resulting in injustice within the city. Although seemingly trivial at first, when considered within its proper context, the censorship of imitative poetry from the city would result in severe consequences. Throughout this essay I will discuss the political and psychological implications of its censorship, and will also refute Plato s argument, showing how it lacks soundness: notably, through a criticism of his epistemology. Regarding the political implications of the censorship of poetry, I will draw from the ideas of Karl Popper, who argued Plato to be one of the most influential philosophers on the emergence of totalitarian regimes in the 20th century, laying the foundations for their very existence (K. Popper, 1945). I will also show how poets themselves have an important political role within cities, in that they enable the general population to hold the state accountable for their actions. To discuss the psychological implications of poetry s censorship, I will compare the contrasting views of Plato and Aristotle regarding its effect on the soul, whereby Aristotle claims that poetry actually has beneficial, cathartic effects. Following these criticisms, it will become apparent that Plato s proposed ban of imitative poetry is indefensible. Firstly, to fully understand Plato s proposal ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Their second finding was that partisans reported different perceptions and recollections about the program content itself; that is, each group reported more negative references to their side than positive ones, and each predicted that the coverage would sway nonpartisans in a hostile direction (Vallone et al., 1985). From the physician performing a procedure, to the janitorial staff that cleans the room, and everyone in between, each one has their own part to play in the world class care of our patients. Coming from the finance department, they key issue Mr. Fiorilli deals with, is the rising cost of health care. He believes that with more than forty million people dependent upon entitlements, the deep economic issues of our country are driving up the cost of health care. From the finance perspective, the number of dollars that are written off to charity must come from somewhere, and the government subsidies that used to cover those costs, no longer do. Medicare pays less and less every year, increasing disallowances for cpt codes they paid the year prior, and the two percent sequestration they now withhold on every claim has cut deeply into the intake of every care giver and facility in the country. To offset those costs, the care givers must raise rates of the self pay and commercial insurance. The more the government pays out in entitlements the less they have to subsidize facilities. Hira found in the Arabian Peninsula when the archangel Gabriel came with a message for muhammad telling him to believe in the one and only true god Allah, therefore creating the religion of Islam. Over the years Islam grew but Islam spread much more quickly than other religions, but why? Some historians believe that it spread quickly because of military conquest, while others are certain it was because of trade routes all around the 3 continents. Then again it could have also been because of treaties, taxes, and tolerations. Military Conquest,Treaties and Taxes and Tolerations, and trade routes were the 3 most believed reasons on why Islam spread so fast. • 39. Differences Between Maori And Non Maori Definition. Tikanga is a noun that means the proper traditional Maori way of doing things and concerns Maori protocols of acceptable behaviour including the customary Maori values, obligations and practices that have developed over time (Maori Dictionary, n.d.), (TKI, 2011). Two key aspects of tikanga are manaakitanga and kaitiakitanga. Manaakitanga concerns hospitality and kindness towards guests, kaitiakitanga is the sense of respect that Maori have for the environment (Te Ara, 2015). Related concepts include mana (spiritual power or status), tapu (spiritual restriction) and mauri (life force or principle). Three specific interactions. In the context of the case study, the following interactions could take place: 1. Interaction One. Between Maori and non Maori. Aranui has about 11,000 inhabitants, some 17% Maori and 83% non Maori, and although the scenario makes no mention of conflict as a consequence of different racial values, it is a potential concern that development propositions could upset social cohesion and racial harmony if non Maori feel discriminated against, perhaps due to local employment opportunities favouring Maori that become available due to Maori business initiatives. A concern that only whanau will be employed. Doubtlessly, some of the 83% non Maori population will resent the $10 million Treaty settlement. Potentially, this interaction could be very positive should both Maori and non Maori see mutual benefit in the development proposition. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. Free Radical Research Paper Free radicals are groups of atoms, molecules, or ions that possess an unpaired/unshared valence electron in their electron orbitals. Due to this, many radicals are very reactive because they want to reach a stable state. They can be classified as oxidants or reductants depending on whether they accept electrons from other atoms or donate atoms. Free radicals can be produced by natural processes such as metabolism. They are also generated from foods that we eat, water, medication, etc. Free radicals are essential to the human body because they are important components of the immune system and they also assist the body with the production of chemical energy. Related experience includes internships, projects, and research experience. One of the best ways to stand out once obtaining an internship is to articulate a desire to learn . As you are given work in an internship, the panelist suggested that you should be sure to show that you are interested in learning more about what you are doing or about learning new things. • 43. Educational Preparation For Nursing Education The modern nursing profession has relied on the evolution of nursing education to shape the knowledge and ideals of its practitioners. However, nursing education was not always at the level and quality it is today. It took the hard work of historical nursing leaders to change the course of nursing education. One of these leaders, May Adelaide Nutting, was instrumental in expanding nursing education during the turn of the 20th century. Her work inspired new ideologies concerning nursing education and implemented novel nursing practices, both of which have helped to shape nursing education today. In the later years of the nineteenth century, hospitals primarily managed nursing education in the form of training schools. Though described as schools, there was little formal instruction, and the students served mostly as a cheap labor force (Nutting, 1926; Reverby, 1987). Mary Adelaide Nutting recognized the need for better educational preparation for nurses in order to help advance the nursing profession and began implementing changes to the training school model when she became the superintendent of nurses at the Johns Hopkins Hospital Training School. In this role, Nutting set out to enhance the training program to provide better educational preparation for the students. She argued that the current structure served only the hospital s needs, and she emphasized that nursing was the only profession without true educational preparation for its pupils (Nutting, 1926). • 44. Comparing The Creation And The Story Of Genesis And Genesis In the sacred scripture of both the Bible or the Hebrew Tanakh, the first two chapters of Genesis consist of both the Creation, and the story of Adam and Eve. Despite one story being ordained to one and another. Both the Creation, and the story of Adam and Eve can be compared on both their similarities, the way how both stories can connect, and finally by their differences on connecting their stories. When the author was writing the first chapter of Genesis, the author emphasized densely on the creation of the world and how he wanted to show the creation of the humanity. By stating In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth (Genesis 1:1), later in the chapter, the statement that was written in Genesis 1:1 would help transit to a new chapter in Genesis 2:4 which is the story of Adam and Eve. As Genesis 2:4 states This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created, when the Lord God made heaven and the earth (Genesis 2:4), the transition from Genesis 1:1 to Genesis 2:4 showed the similarity on how the chapter started, by stating how God created the heaven and the earth on the first day, and how in Adam and Eve the author stated how the world was created by the creator himself as stated from the Bible Study Tool, None but the Creator himself could give this information, and therefore it is through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God (Hebrew 11:3, BST). Before I go too deep into my family s history, I think it would be best for you guys to get a little bit of my background, my first family, the streets of New York City. For starters, I was born and raised in the most violent poverty stricken section of New York City, The South Bronx. I managed to survive two epidemics, (the crack, and the aids epidemic). I was born in the early seventies. The Bronx to me looked like a fucking warzone, a vast wasteland, where it was not uncommon to see the rats roam free amongst the debris of the streets of New York City; along with the huge water bugs (Cucarachas Grandes), it is what we Ricans in the hood use to call them. These big ass roaches were disgusting; these motherfuckers had wings on them too. So them suckers could fly and shit. I cringe as I writing this shit thinking about them nasty ass disgusting roaches.
