This document summarizes a student project analyzing lighting strategies for a community library and cafe space in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It outlines the objectives of incorporating both natural and artificial lighting. Daylighting strategies include a permeable facade, lightwell, and using adjacent buildings to diffuse harsh sunlight. Site analysis shows shade patterns throughout the day. Daylight factor calculations and artificial lighting layouts are presented for the workshop and cafe spaces to meet recommended illumination levels according to local standards. Passive solutions like louvers and lightshelves were added to improve daylight penetration.
