General Education Assessment at Bronx Community College ,[object Object]
Faculty Development Structure
ePortfolios?,[object Object]
General Education & Assessment TeamFormed in 2010  Made up of Dean, Faculty Team Leader, Assessment Manager, CTE Director, and a Faculty Member from each Division. Attended AAC&U General Education Conference to meet with assessment experts, develop workshop materials, divide responsibilities, develop materials.  Continually revising workshop presentations and materials to foster more interaction among participants and presenters.
Series of Four Workshops for Coordinators and/or FT Faculty  One faculty member from each program. Workshops meet once per month for one semester. Between workshops, faculty member brings materials to his/her department meeting for discussion and consensus building.  Each faculty member assigned a mentor from GenEd & Assessment Team.
Workshop Structure Materials from Fall 2010 workshops include revised syllabi with measurable course-learning outcomes and GenEd proficiencies clearly labeled, assessment tool (or assignment) with rubric for assessment in place for Spring 2011 assessment, program map, assessment template.  Spring 2011 workshops coming to a close this week. Spring 2011 workshop materials due at start of Fall semester with  assessments to be performed in Fall.  Looping to take place following each semester’s assessment.

Bronx CC Assessment and ePortfolio for 5.6.11

  • 4. General Education & Assessment TeamFormed in 2010 Made up of Dean, Faculty Team Leader, Assessment Manager, CTE Director, and a Faculty Member from each Division. Attended AAC&U General Education Conference to meet with assessment experts, develop workshop materials, divide responsibilities, develop materials. Continually revising workshop presentations and materials to foster more interaction among participants and presenters.
  • 5. Series of Four Workshops for Coordinators and/or FT Faculty One faculty member from each program. Workshops meet once per month for one semester. Between workshops, faculty member brings materials to his/her department meeting for discussion and consensus building. Each faculty member assigned a mentor from GenEd & Assessment Team.
  • 6. Workshop Structure Materials from Fall 2010 workshops include revised syllabi with measurable course-learning outcomes and GenEd proficiencies clearly labeled, assessment tool (or assignment) with rubric for assessment in place for Spring 2011 assessment, program map, assessment template. Spring 2011 workshops coming to a close this week. Spring 2011 workshop materials due at start of Fall semester with assessments to be performed in Fall. Looping to take place following each semester’s assessment.
