Interview and presentation on assessment finalRamona Hamilton
This presentation compares how postsecondary instructors and training facilitators develop and use assessments. Both aim to improve instruction and determine if learners comprehend materials, but their approaches differ. Instructors gauge student growth with assessments and use fact-based exam questions, while facilitators focus on improving training quality and allowing learner feedback. Both seek to develop critical thinking through open-ended questions and scenarios requiring written responses. Their analysis of assessments informs curriculum adjustments to better prepare learners for life after education.
This presentation provides an update to the PAB Adult and Older People's Group on the redesign of the physical activities pages on the Bromley MyLife website.

The document discusses fetal viability, which is the point at which a fetus can survive outside the mother's womb. Different societies and organizations hold varying views on when life begins. Currently in the UK, abortion is legal up to 24 weeks of gestation. Those in favor of abortion rights argue the debate centers on when the fetus becomes sufficiently human, while opponents believe life begins at conception. Fetal viability and the 24-week limit are defined in UK law and present a compromise between medical understanding and public opinion.
The document discusses the acquisition of AirThread Connections by American Cable Communications (ACC). It presents arguments that the acquisition could benefit both companies by helping them compete through bundled service offerings and expand into the business market. ACC could also save AirThread over 20% in backhaul costs, creating positive synergies. The memorandum evaluates whether to value AirThread as a merger target based on operating value using a combination of discounted cash flow and adjusted present value models, or non-operating value considering debt payments.

However, the economic benefits often go to affluent individuals who do not live near fracking sites. Manipulation of public opinion by elites allows the industry to proliferate despite its impacts. More research and community awareness is still needed on the various effects of fracking.

This document summarizes the key events in Vanessa Williams' journey to becoming the first black Miss America in 1983 and the aftermath she experienced. She received thousands of congratulatory letters initially, but also threats of violence and racism from both white and black communities. Her victory exposed the need for a new racial caste system to replace the old as the Civil Rights Movement dismantled the prior system of control. The War on Drugs launched by President Reagan in 1982 played a role in establishing mass incarceration as this new racial caste system.

About the Education, Care and Health Services department (April 2013)Burning Leaf Creatives
The document outlines the formation of a new Education, Care and Health Services department in a local council that combines several service areas. The department aims to encourage high aspirations, maximize independence, promote healthy lives, and protect the vulnerable. It is led by an Executive Director and divided into divisions for adults care, children's social care, education, housing, and public health. The department's vision is supported by common themes around its goals and two portfolio holders oversee areas of responsibility within the department.
The document discusses various strategies in place at different levels to coordinate services for children and young people in Bromley. There are organizational, departmental, service, individual, and partnership level strategies that all aim to achieve common visions and outcomes. Key changes like the Health and Social Care Bill and new structures like Health and Wellbeing Boards and their strategies will impact how services are coordinated and prioritized going forward, with a focus on issues like mental health needs, children in social care, and those with complex disabilities. The draft Health and Wellbeing Strategy will be presented to relevant boards to help guide agencies in addressing challenges.
The document summarizes a review of partnership arrangements in Bromley Borough and recommendations for a new framework. The review found duplication across partnerships and barriers like limited resources. It recommends consolidating partnerships under a single framework coordinated by the Executive Director. New structures include biannual stakeholder conferences for adults and children's services and time-limited project groups to better engage users. The next steps are to develop terms of reference, commission project groups, and report to committees on implementing the new arrangements starting in September 2013.
The Education and Care Services (ECS) department was formed in 2012 by combining adult and community services and children and young people services. The ECS vision is to support improved quality of life by encouraging high aspirations, maximizing independence, promoting healthy lives, and protecting the most vulnerable.

Next steps include an initial report on findings to the Trust Board and developing a change plan to be implemented with feedback to the Board.
The document outlines Michael Watts' participation in an Improving Manager Programme. It discusses his background in contracts work and management training. The programme involved identifying leadership characteristics, focusing on taking personal responsibility and continuous improvement. Models of power, consultation, personal awareness and balancing forces were applied to successfully propose efficiency improvements to contract processes at West Kent Contracts.

Combined Illegal, Unregulated and Unreported (IUU) Vessel List.Christina Parmionova
The best available, up-to-date information on all fishing and related vessels that appear on the illegal, unregulated, and unreported (IUU) fishing vessel lists published by Regional Fisheries Management Organisations (RFMOs) and related organisations. The aim of the site is to improve the effectiveness of the original IUU lists as a tool for a wide variety of stakeholders to better understand and combat illegal fishing and broader fisheries crime.
To date, the following regional organisations maintain or share lists of vessels that have been found to carry out or support IUU fishing within their own or adjacent convention areas and/or species of competence:
Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR)
Commission for the Conservation of Southern Bluefin Tuna (CCSBT)
General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean (GFCM)
Inter-American Tropical Tuna Commission (IATTC)
International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT)
Indian Ocean Tuna Commission (IOTC)
Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Organisation (NAFO)
North East Atlantic Fisheries Commission (NEAFC)
North Pacific Fisheries Commission (NPFC)
South East Atlantic Fisheries Organisation (SEAFO)
South Pacific Regional Fisheries Management Organisation (SPRFMO)
Southern Indian Ocean Fisheries Agreement (SIOFA)
Western and Central Pacific Fisheries Commission (WCPFC)
The Combined IUU Fishing Vessel List merges all these sources into one list that provides a single reference point to identify whether a vessel is currently IUU listed. Vessels that have been IUU listed in the past and subsequently delisted (for example because of a change in ownership, or because the vessel is no longer in service) are also retained on the site, so that the site contains a full historic record of IUU listed fishing vessels.
Unlike the IUU lists published on individual RFMO websites, which may update vessel details infrequently or not at all, the Combined IUU Fishing Vessel List is kept up to date with the best available information regarding changes to vessel identity, flag state, ownership, location, and operations.
