Salient Features of Suchirr SmartR (under Patent) ROOT irrigation Systems :
• SMART - Self Managed Auto Regulated Trickle Irrigation System
• Only gravity flow (NO Electricity) system is used for flow distribution.
• Modular construction - 500 Feeder units connected to one Feed tank
• Very Simple Design, Easy to Install, Fully automatic without pumps or filters.
• Low cost , Highly Effective and Water conserving with ZERO losses.
• Replaces Very costly emitters( Drip Irrigation ) with patented Sub Soil
DribblersR (SSD’s), for Feeding water Under the Soil to the Plant Roots.
• One small feeder system per plant or sapling or for a cluster – This Feeder
stores water near the plants for transferring water via SSD’s.
• All these operations are fully automatic.
• Measured quantity of water fed to the Feeder – The water inlet to feeder stops
Once it becomes full, and the Inlet water flows to other feeder connected on the
piping system with the storage tank kept at a height of only 5-6 feet.
• The measured quantity of water filled will be absorbed by the plant over a
period of predetermined time ( 2 to 8 hrs) and this can be altered by using
suitably designed SSD’s® . Plant draws water as per its requirement from feeder.
• Combined dosing with fertilisers/pesticides in the distributors or even
individual dosing in the feeders is possible without any investment.
• The distance between the saplings and layout of the plants can be easily be set
and adjusted and do not require any levelling or precision adjustment for
ensuring proper flow to all the saplings / plants.
• No manual operation required for executing the sequential watering of plants,
once the system is set as per requirement.
• Very low cost PVC Conduit pipes of small sizes can be used for water
transportation.
• The water for ROOT irrigation is supplied at a depth of 8-10 inches under soil
• The soil retains moisture around the sapling for a very long period, even for
days, ensuring a healthy and faster plant growth.

Conventional Drip Irrigation- Bottlenecks
 High Capital Investment and operational costs for Electricity, Manpower & Spares
 Gravity flow can not be used in these systems and the Pump and Filteration
required adds to the capital and operational costs.
 Requirement of skilled manpower and periodic acid cleaning for operation.
 Problems faced in Flow balancing amongst various outlets.
 Leakages in system due to high pressures and the system must be run everyday.
 Pipeline route Inflexible to shift or change as the flow patterns also get affected.
 Very heavy duty pipe is required which needs special winding/unwinding
equipments or pipe tapes for shifting from one location to other.
 The uneven topography of fields will alter the flow rates at outlets
 Highly unsuitable of small and medium garden or farms due to high investment in
pump and filters.
 Evaporation and pilferage losses and Nozzle Blockages caused by vacuum.
 Roots of the Plant being irrigated tend to come on the surface as the water supplied
remains on surface causing Weed Generation and lower plant growth.

Conventional Drip Irrigation- Bottlenecks  High Capital Investment and operational costs for Electricity, Manpower & Spares  Gravity flow can not be used in these systems and the Pump and Filteration required adds to the capital and operational costs.  Requirement of skilled manpower and periodic acid cleaning for operation.  Problems faced in Flow balancing amongst various outlets.  Leakages in system due to high pressures and the system must be run everyday.  Pipeline route Inflexible to shift or change as the flow patterns also get affected.  Very heavy duty pipe is required which needs special winding/unwinding equipments or pipe tapes for shifting from one location to other.  The uneven topography of fields will alter the flow rates at outlets  Highly unsuitable of small and medium garden or farms due to high investment in pump and filters.  Evaporation and pilferage losses and Nozzle Blockages caused by vacuum.  Roots of the Plant being irrigated tend to come on the surface as the water supplied remains on surface causing Weed Generation and lower plant growth.
