1. Brief of my new Music Magazine My new Music Magazine I am going to produce is going to have the house style as mainstream, and is going to be called ‘INDIE CINDY’; it’s themed on Indie music and Indie bands/artist mainly. It will include a bold Indie-style masthead, a main image of a new Indie artist on the front and a main cover line which will be an in-depth interview with the new Indie artist, a ‘What’s New’ section which will include some cover lines, a skyline which will include what other bands/artist are included in this Music Magazine, and a freebee of a single done by the new Indie artist. My unique selling point is that, even though it is for both the male and female audience, it is more aimed at the female audience. This is different to how most magazines for Indie music are seen as because they normally have a masculine name and involve male Indie artists and groups. Whereas mine has the name ‘INDIE CINDY’ – which makes you think it’s more towards females – and the main cover line and main imagery are based on a female artist – which also appeals more to a female audience, as well as a male audience. This would appeal to my target audience because I have taken ideas from my survey and used them –for example I decided have used an Indie theme, new and upcoming bands/artists and an in-depth article – also I have included bold text and imagery which will attract people to read the Music Magazine. For my new Music Magazine I have decided to use a band new artist, rather than an original one. My artist is an Indie-style female in her late teens from South London, her stage name is Minx, and her real name is Aisha Loren. She was brought in a bad neighbourhood with little money but many friends, she tend to be out with her friends getting up to no good rather than doing anything else, she was bad at school but good at the music scene. She had always enjoyed singing, writing her own songs and recording her own tracks – it wasn’t until one of her friends sent off one of her tapes that she became a recognised artist. Now living the dream in central London – away from her troubling past – Minx is a well known artist all over the UK, her gigs are always sold out and her songs are flying off the shelves.
