Dry riser systems provide fire protection for high-rise buildings where main water pressures are insufficient for normal firefighting. The systems are installed in staircases with riser valves on each floor connected to an inlet breeching on the ground level for firefighters to connect hoses. Equipment is manufactured to BS 5041 standards and includes breeching inlets, cabinets, riser valves, and air valves to release or admit air in the risers.
