1. Book Review Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of "Book Review Essay" can be both challenging and rewarding.
The difficulty lies in the multifaceted nature of the task, as it requires a careful balance between
providing a summary of the book, critically analyzing its content, and expressing your personal
opinions. Here are some aspects that contribute to the complexity of crafting such an essay:
1. Understanding the Book: Before even beginning to write the essay, one must
thoroughly read and comprehend the book in question. This involves not only grasping
the plot but also delving into the themes, characters, and the author's writing style.
2. Analytical Skills:A successful book review essay goes beyond summarizing the plot. It
requires the ability to analyze the author's intentions, the effectiveness of their
storytelling, and the impact of the book on its readers.
3. Balancing Summary and Critique:Striking the right balance between providing a brief
summary of the book and offering a critical analysis can be challenging. Readers should
get a sense of the book's content while also understanding your perspective on its
strengths and weaknesses.
4. Expressing Personal Opinions:While incorporating personal opinions is encouraged,
articulating them in a coherent and convincing manner requires skill. It's essential to
support your views with evidence from the book.
5. Structuring the Essay:Organizing thoughts in a logical and coherent structure is crucial
for any essay. In the case of a book review essay, it involves introducing the book,
presenting a summary, offering a critical analysis, and concluding with a thoughtful
reflection.
6. Avoiding Spoilers:Striking a balance between providing enough information to engage
the reader and avoiding spoilers for those who haven't read the book can be tricky.
Despite these challenges, writing a book review essay can be a fulfilling experience, allowing
you to engage deeply with literature and share your insights with others.

2. Pathos In Lightning Crashes Ethos
When most people think of the circle of life they imagine the Lion King, right?
They don t think of any of the realities that actually do happen. They don t think
about the people dying in one room while one is being born in another. Lightning
Crashes by Live embodies the circle of life perfectly. Liveis an American rock band
originating for York, Pennsylvania. The song was released in September of 1994 as
a single for their album Throwing Copper. Ed Kowalczyk, one of the members of
Live, dedicated this song to a high school friend who passed away from a drunk
driving collision. The friend had donated several organs. This song specifically
speaks to how she gave a new life to others by donating her organs. Kowalczyk has
said that he envisioned the music video to be in a hospital, where there is plenty of
deaths and births taking place. Instead of that vision, the video takes place in a
home, giving off a more peaceful feeling and a happy ending atmosphere. The
opening of the music video portrays the image of a new mother giving birth in one
room, while in another room an elderly woman is dying, symbolizing one life being
brought into the world as another is taken. Even though Lightning Crashes does not
use the appeal of logos, it displays a strong usage of pathos and offers a credible
source of ethos to draw in its listeners. The song practices several emotional
metaphors throughout the lyrics, the music video displays emotional imagery, and it
can relate to outside
3. A Fair And Open Electoral System
For decades, Canadians have been defending their right to have a fair and open
electoral system. Since its creation in 1867, Canada has been proud to call itself a
true democratic country, but today there would be many people who disagree with
this statement. The Canadian electoral system, which uses First Past The Post
(FPTP), has come under scrutiny for not being as fair as it claims to be. Over the
past couple of decades, many countries have switched their system to Proportional
Representation(PR) or some form of it. Based on successful results in other nations,
Canada s current FPTP system should change to Mixed Member Proportional
(MMP), which is a form of Proportional Representation, as it will allow for more fair
elections. The intent of this paper is to outline how an electoral reform from First
Past the Post to Proportional Representation or Mixed Member Proportional, will lead
to more confidence in the government, more accurate seat vote percentage, and better
overall representation of the population.
The first past the post system runs on the idea that whichever party has the most votes
wins. In Canada, the government has split geographical regions into constituencies
which are called ridings. Each riding has a representative from each party that has
chosen to have an individual represent them. When the election date comes, voters
will go to the polling station and cast their vote for whichever individual they want to
represent them. Whichever representative that
4. Comparing A Cage of butterflies to Mission to mars Essay
Science fiction produces a quot;what if quot; element that asks a question and
prophesises the future. There are many texts, which presents the reader or viewer
with a particular way of science fiction. The two texts, quot;A cage of butterflies
quot; by Brain Caswell and quot;Mission to Mars quot; by Brian de Palmer, both of
which conform to science fiction. The technology used in quot;A cage of butterflies
quot; is of extremely high standard and produces a theme that prophesises about
experimentation and mutationsoccurring on humans. The theme in quot;Mission to
Mars quot; is about discovery, communication and reaching out to other life forms.
In quot;A cage of butterflies quot;, the research laboratory in NSW is covertly set, as

The babies communicate using pictures and emotional feelings to the others but is
hard for them to communicate in this manner so they try to use their linguistic
abilities.
The quot;what if quot; of the novel represent what might happened if we continue to
experiment on life forms. A serum injected by Larsen caused mutation of the babies
resulting in the fusing of the cerebral hemispheres and the enhancement of the babies
with extra abilities such as advanced communication and telepathy. Larsen s greed
was shown in his experiments on the kids and in the future, this greed may possibly
entice some people to conduct similar experiments.
The setting in quot;Mission to Mars quot; fills the audience with expectations, as it
is futuristic. Mars is presented in a red colour. The planet is rocky lifeless and
barren, with storming winds blowing dust all over it. The tremendous size of the
mountains and gorges make the humans look insignificant and vulnerable. Inside the
face on the planet, a bright, blinding white light in the background, symbolised peace
and high authority eg. Navy uniform. Inside the space ship, the camera angles give
the audience an impression of weightlessness. The camera angles also show how
small and cramped the ship is and how movement is difficult. The technology used in
the space ship is also high in technology. When they voyage out into space, the music

September 11, 2001 shocked the City of New York when the twin towers were hit
by two hijacked planes flown by al qaeda members. Due to this horrible day many
changes have been made to our government, ourselves as human beings, our trust in
people, and how we view people of a foreign country. Toby Keith wrote and sang his
song Courtesy of the Red, White, And Blue as a call to action for the troops of The
United Statesof America to retaliate. Alan Jackson wrote and sang his song Where
Were You When The World Stopped Turning as a way for not only him, but
America to cope and grieve for the fallen firemen and lost victims of many families
out there. The songs are completely different in tone and meaning.. Toby Keith s
song, Courtesy of the Red, White, And Blue has an angry and vengeful tone
through the whole song. Toby Keith kind of consoles the people of America and
lets the American people and the people responsible we re not going to sit

served and the battle will rage (Keith 33 34). This symbolizes the anger and
retaliation the American people are feeling and want against the people responsible
for the 9/11 attacks. Though this is just a small phrase, it has a giant impact on the
way people feel and how they cope with their feelings.
Alan Jackson s song, Where Were You When The World Stopped Turning has a more
peaceful and empathetic tone. He shows he is religious and an

Have you ever been in the car with your family members and they re smoking, and
you re not able to catch a breath? You get annoyed because you re coughing and
your eyes are becoming bloodshot, you re trying so hard to hold your breath, well
that kind of stuff can kill you. Therefore inhalation of harmful chemicals is a main
cause of lung cancer. There are two types of lung cancer: Small cell Lung
cancer, which has 10 20% of most cases. Theres also the non small cell which is
responsible for 80%. Small cell lung cancer is rarely found in people who don t
smoke at all. Small cell Lung cancer is the most aggressive type of lung cancer,
tends to spread quickly before symptoms appear, survival rate is very low then

7. how appreciation affects interest rates and exchange rates
1.Explain the how appreciation affects interest rates and exchange rates. How does
this influence commodity currency? Should we return to a gold standard? Why or
why not?
Business dictionary defines an exchange rate as the rate at which one currency can
be exchanged for another. In other words, it is the value of another country s
currency compared to that of your own. If you are planning a trip to travel abroad
this is something that needs to be calculated along the trip, because in order to
purchase goods or services while aboard one would need to purchase the local
currency. Just like the price of any asset, the exchange rate is the price at which you
can buy that currency. If you are traveling within Europe, for example, and ... Show

For instance, if the dollar depreciates relative to the euro, the exchange rate rises.
When the dollar depreciates relative to the euro, the dollar becomes more
competitive because the price of American goods when exchanged to euro will be
cheaper leading to a larger American export. On the other hand, European countries
that denominate its goods and services in Euros will have lost competitiveness to
the dollar. The price of European products will thus become more expensive in
America. A currency appreciates as a result of increased demand for that currency
on world markets. Its value in the world market increases. This increase in demand
can occur for several reasons which include: When a country s exports are high, the
buyers of these exports need its currency to pay for those exports. Also when the
country s central bank increases interest rates, people will want that currency to
deposit in the banks to earn that higher interest rate. The higher the interest rate the
stronger the currency.
Gold standard Between 1870 and 1914, there was a global fixed exchange rate.
Currencies were linked to gold, meaning that the value of a local currency was
fixed at a set exchange rate to gold ounces. This was known as the gold standard.
This allowed for unrestricted capital mobility as well as global stability in
currencies and trade. However, with the start of World War I, the gold standard was
abandoned. To help combat the Great Depression, faced
8. Hurricane Katrina Simulation
Hurricane Katrina was a devastating disaster that has affected many people in New
Orleans as well as the surrounding areas. It had a stunning death toll of 1300 people
and damage over $100 billion ( Davlasheridze 94 ). The communication were taken
down hours after Katrina because of the unexpected fast winds and floods that broke
down 3 million phone lines and 1,000 cellular towers in Louisiana, Mississippi and
Alabama. ( Joch ). Because of the millions of phone lines that were battered,
contacting the government for help was difficult hours after hurricane Katrina. Not
only that, the people of New Orleans underestimated the power of Hurricane
Katrina causing many to be stranded with no food or water ( Narrator, The Storm
,PBS ). Before Hurricane Katrina, a simulation called Hurricane Pam was created
to prepare for a disaster like Katrina. It was the perfect model of what happened in
Katrina ( Maestri, The Storm ). The purpose of it was to prepare the people
(government) in what is needed during a real hurricane. Unfortunately, Before they
could finish the exercise, FEMA s funding for the simulation was cut before it was
completed causing the simulation to be canceled. The reason why Hurricane Pam
was unsuccessful because Medical care for hurricane victims was not yet
finalized, communication systems were not addressed at all, and key
transportation decisions were left to be determined ( Narrator, The Storm , PBS ).
If the simulation were to be completed, the disaster of Hurricane Katrina could ve
been solved with a prepared plan to help many in New Orleans. Over the years of
Hurricane Katrina, FEMA faced many criticisms. Not only FEMA, but every level
of government was roundly criticized ( Howellq ). Back in 9/11, They acted fast
and accordingly to the disaster. During hurricane Katrina, they were slow and had
false promises that the locals of New Orleans believed ( Maestri, The Storm , PBS
). Many people asked FEMA for resources and help, but that turned down because
they did not ask the right way ( Hale The Storm , PBS). During an interview with
one of FEMA s secretaries, Michael Brown , had claimed that FEMA could not help
Louisiana because they didn t tell them what they
9. Cesar Chavez 1984 Address Summary
Farm labor can be one of the most difficult job to handle. From the low wages to
the horrible weather and health conditions. Most of these farm labor workers are
immigrants who are here in the United States seeking for a better job, and
providing for their children s. However, they do not have a good job and are
struggling so bad for their children. The average pay for a field worker is ten
dollars per hour. There must be a change to these wages since many workers are
working in extremely hot weather conditions that no one can imagine or are willing
to work like that. Not only that, but the farmers benefit from them dramatically. In
the 1984 address by Cesar E. Chavez, president of the United Farm Workersof
America, AFL CIO, to the Commonwealth Club of California, uses different appeals
to present the unfairness a farm worker faces. His main point is to... Show more

This situation makes the audience feel sorrow for these poor family. It is difficult
for a child seeing their parents struggle for them and not have enough money for
payments. This speech asserts the appeal to pathos in order for the audience feel the
struggle and consequences and farm worker goes through, In addition Chavez also
showed logo and pathos appeals when he mentions the solutions of the Agricultural
Labor Relations Act. He cites,
The law helped farm workers make progress in overcoming poverty and injustice.
At companies where farm workers are protected by union contracts, we have made
progress in overcoming child labor, in overcoming miserable wages and working
conditions, in overcoming sexual harassment of women workers, in overcoming
dangerous pesticides which poison our people and poison the food we all eat.
10. My Life As A Second Language
A lot people around me asked me why do I always smile and never show my
angriness or my sadness. That s because I want to encourage people around me to
overcome their stresses. Whether the stress is from school, work or your life,
everyone faces challenges that make them feels trapped. Some deals with them
differently and decide that they can t beat the troubles they feel. Challenges are
everywhere and no matter what is thrown in your way everyone must remember that
their life is always worth living.
Throughout my personal life, I faced with many difficult obstacles, and different
challenges. I had go through five general anesthesia for five major surgeries in my
life including tumor removal, skin graft surgery, tonsil removal, retinol hemorrhage
after being hit by soccer ball, and extracting four wisdom teeth (which was nothing
compared to other four). But of them all, learning a second language and
overcoming my shyness were mentally the most difficult challenges that I ever
faced. Not so long ago, I considered myself to be a shy person, especially around the
foreigners, who spoke in a different language. Because of this, new start as an
immigrant in United States of America was challenging for me. My shyness and
language was a communication barrier. However, despite my aversions to it early on
in life, I learned to love interacting with people and to enjoy learning a new language.
I was able to overcome my challenges through extracurricular activities and
volunteering
11. Mississippi Law Case Study
The state of Mississippi has not passed many laws, which are named in honor of
crime victims. A check of the state legislature s web site, which shows the status of
bills passed during each legislative session, shows that, since 2006, only three laws
have been passed, which are named in honor of crime victims (Miss. Bill Status,
2016). During the regular session of the 2006 legislature, Mississippi lawmakers
passed a version of the 2005 Florida law, known as Jessica s law. The original
Florida law was enacted after nine year old Jessica Lunsford was abducted, sexually
assaulted, and ultimately murdered by a convicted sex offender. In response to this
incident, Senate Bill 2527 was introduced in the Mississippi Legislature. The passage

occurred in Mississippi, and this was done in response to the tragic death of a five

laws, named for victims from other states, is a way for my state to act
progressively toward possible criminal acts. I say this, due to my nearly 30 years in
law enforcement here, and because I know the typical response of our legislature has
been to ignore issues arising in other states. While Mississippi has not enacted many
laws of this nature, the ones that have been enacted were, and are needed, and serve

13. How Did Henry Ford Technology Change Society
Throughout history the role of technology has prompted change greatly. Almost every
year something new is to created to better the life of the average individual.
Technology dates back to about 10 million years ago, humans need technology to
survive that is why we see so much innovation throughout the years. Technology
could be defined as any device and or method that is used to help solve problems.
Although all the great innovation throughout the years there may not be a match for
the impact of change that Henry Fordprompted with his innovation in the 20th
century. Henry Ford was able to take the automobileto the next level. Henry Ford
wanted to create a simple automobile that the average America would be able to
afford. By making an affordable car, Ford was able to change the American
society, everyone wanted a car it wasn t such a luxury anymore. In 1908, he
became to sell an Automobile named the Model T the sales on his product

that would never have been thought of in the 20th century. But without Henry Ford
the technology that we see in our cars today could not be possible. It would be a
completely different world without the innovation of the automobile, the Model T
will forever been looked at as one of the most impactful changes in American

Biofilm formation and colonization are of prime importance in initiation and

Therefore, in the present study antimicrobial efficacy of modified glass ionomer
cement was evaluated by estimating the bacterial load on 2 days old dental
biofilm. The results revealed statistically significant difference in bacterial load
among the three groups, i.e. CFUs were lowest in chitosan modified GIC followed
by chlorhexidine cetrimide modified GIC and maximum CFUs were observed in
conventional GIC. The findings of present study suggested that antimicrobial effect
of GIC is enhanced after addition of CH and CHX CT in GIC. However, chitosan

17. Context In Norman Rockwell s Freedom Of Want
The context of an argument is the most crucial part as it shapes the main idea and
the way it is perceived. There four types of context to be addressed when evaluating
an argument. These contexts are historical, which is all about the time period and
setting of the argument, physical, which is where the argument was found and
published, political, which is about who the author is, and social, which is about the
audience it is directed to. Norman Rockwells painting of Freedom of Want was
published on March 6th, 1943 and a perfect example of how the context will shape
the argument portrayed. The following sources provide further clarification on how
the context surrounding the painting expresses Rockwell s vision of the ideal
America more clearly.:

18. Symbolism In A Worn Path
Phoenix Jackson, the main character, is a small, old African American woman who
goes on a journey for a purpose that is unknown at the beginning of the story.
Although Phoenix has made this trip many times, something is different about this
trip. Throughout her journey, Phoenix faces many obstacles and hardships. The
author uses symbolism and, later, gives the reader awareness of Phoenix s
character while, hopefully, teaching a lesson about life. In A Worn Path , Eudora
Welty uses the symbols of the name Phoenix , life and death, and the main
characters age throughout the story. In A Worn Path , Phoenix Jackson s name
symbolizes the mythological bird Phoenix. In mythology, the story of the Phoenix
is about a large, magical bird that lived for centuries, created a fire for itself, and
rose up out of the ashes renewed again. The bird s color is described as shimmering
red and golden/yellow. Eudora describes Phoenix s skin as a golden color and her
cheeks illuminated by a yellow burning in the dark, and the red bandana she wears
around her head also symbolises the colors of the bird. The idea of Phoenix
persevering, like the bird, despite what many would see as insurmountable odds is
best seen through her meeting with the hunter. Even when the hunter points out how
far the journey is to town for Phoenix, she simply answers, I bound to go to town,
mister. The time come around. She answers without hesitation, showing that the idea
of giving up never entered her mind. It is this resilience in the face of adversity that
further ties Phoenix to her namesake. Also during Phoenix s encounter with the
hunter, the reader and Phoenix face the possibility of her death at the hands of the

19. Examples Of Newspeak In 1984
Abdulrahman Alshehri February 19, 2018 Orwellian Newspeak In the novel of
George Orwell s 1984, the main character Winston Smith struggles with oppression
in Oceania, where the people are under permanent surveillance of Big Brother
through the telescreen which are capable of monitoring people s every word and
actions. Winston dares to express his displeasure in a diary and has a relationship
with a young Party Julia. However, they got arrested by the Thought Police. O Brien
interrogates and brainwashes Winston to keep the power. The book introduces the
Newspeak language that intents to reduce the words to control people, not to enhance
personal communication and expression. One of the major themes in 1984 involves
the influence of language on people s ability to think... Show more content on

Newspeak aims to replace Oldspeak, or the Standard English, in a way that would
favor the Party members or the elite. It was designed to limit the range of thought
of people which would make them easier to manipulate. Don t you see that the
whole aim of Newspeak is to narrow the range of thought? In the end we shall
make thoughtcrime literally impossible, because there will be no words in which
to express it (Orwell 52). Syme illustrates the political purposes of Newspeak to
Winston. Although there were some words that could still be used in Newspeak,
the way they should be used have changed to make sure they do not stir up the
people s mind into greater thinking. The appendix to 1984 is Orwell s explanation
of Newspeak. A Newspeak dictionary contained all the vocabulary used for that
purpose. There were three kinds of vocabulary which include A Vocabulary, B
Vocabulary, and C Vocabulary. Each set of vocabulary was designed for specific

Officer Nolan was driving with fours car, his being the last one. The cars were in a

decision.

You know that experience you have that you can really never get out of your head?
It is not a good memory, one you will probably not tell your mother about until you
are well in your forties? I had one of those during my second week of college. My
group of friends that experienced this night with me included my roommate Dionia,
Reggie, Reginald, and Fredrek. I met Reggie through Dionia, they are both from
Orangeburg, SC and attended the same high school. Reginald is Reggie s
roommate which is how I met Reginald, and Fredrek is Reginald s friend. Fredrek,
Reginald and I all happen to be from the same town so we all clicked instantly. The
second week of school we were all ready to go out and had some fun, that night we
decided to meet up in my dorm so we could go out together. Until that night on
Franklin Boulevard I had never felt so scared and helpless in my life.
I was never a person to go out and party in my hometown, but being 18 and in college
I decided I would branch out a little but not to where I would be uncomfortable.
Coming to Greensboro I knew there were parts of the city that were prone to
violence, being new to the city I did not know where those areas were just yet. We
decided earlier in the week that we were going to go out that Saturday, Fredrek
started looking on Snapchat for addresses or any flyers for parties that we could go

night we were going out we took an Uber while

Making Inference
An Inference Defined
In order to knock the verbal section of your standardized test or even the reading
portion of your test in school right out of the ballpark, you need to know what an
inference is, first. An inference is an assumption made based on specific evidence.
We make inferences all the time in real life. For instance, your girlfriend might say
to you, Nice hair, and you could make the inference that she is being rude because
she was smirking when she said it. In life, it s pretty easy to infer the implied
meaning the meaning not stated directly because you can use context clues like body
... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You ll have to actually infer that you need to make an inference about the passage.
Sneaky, huh? Here are a few that require inferencing skills, but don t use those words
exactly. * With which of the following statements would the author most likely agree?
* Which of the following sentences would the author most likely use to add
additional support to paragraph three?
Step 2: Trust the Passage
Now that you re certain you have an inference question on your hands, and you
know exactly what an inference is, you ll need to let go of your prejudices and
prior knowledge and use the passage to prove that the inference you select is the
correct one. Inferences on a multiple choice exam are different from those in real
life. Out in the real world, if you make an educated guess, your inference could still
be incorrect. But on a multiple choice exam, your inference will be correct because
you ll use the details in the passage to prove it. You have to trust that the passage
offers you the truth in the setting of the test, and that one of the answer choices
provided is correct without stepping too far outside the realm of the passage.
Step 3: Hunt for Clues
Your third step is to start hunting for clues supporting details, vocabulary, character s
actions, descriptions, dialogue, and more to prove one of the inferences listed below
the question. Take this question, for example:
Based on the information in the
23. The Ultimate Test For Any Idea
EPR Paradox
The ultimate test for any idea, ranging from abstract philosophical concepts to
objective scientific theories, is the reality. What makes us to believe whether
something is right or wrong is how much that thing is compatible with reality. In
physics, reality is the direct result of an experiment; thus, we are forced to think
about reality as observable reality . In fact, the distinction between reality and
observable reality is extremely important, since as a consequence of this
distinction, a logically correct theory may not necessary be correct while a logically
non satisfying theory may be completely correct (if it is also able to predict the
result of a series of experiments). Reality can encompasses any logical idea whether
observable or unobservable, but observable reality consist of only observable
phenomena whether or not they seem logical. In the case of Einstein s gedanken
experiment concerning Quantum Mechanics known as EPR or EPR Paradox we face
the exact same difficulty; either taking EPR s word for believing in logically
desirable physical explanations, or just relying on experiments results and their
consistency with quantum mechanics which are far from being logically satisfying.
In this paper, I shall tackle both EPR gedanken experiment and the results of an
experiment that contrasts EPR logical statements in order to see if I can address the
EPR paradox once for all. In Can Quantum Mechanical Description of Physical

Background: The story takes place somewhere in ancient kwaZulu Natal. It deals with
people living in rural kwaZulu Natal. It also has a tribal structure centred around the
king. Characters: The King, The princess, The attendants /companions, The
Woodcutter, The villagers.
The story

Proverb: Umona usuka esweni (Jealousy comes from the eye / Jealousy displeasure)
Jealousy is the theme of uBuhlaluse beNkosi. In this story Buhlaluse is the victim of
jealousy. She has done nothing wrong, but finds herself in the undesirable position
of not being liked by her companions. All because her they are envious of her beauty
and her royal status as a result, they try to kill her.
Language usage: Folktales were specifially created for teaching, they display the do

well as well chosen words that make the story come alive and linger in the mind of
listeners. Unfortunately some of those words are lost when translating the story from
Zulu to English, for example when the woodcutter first hears Buhlaluse singing, he
says Babeshane! yimihlola..... because there s no equivalent of this expression in
English, it is difficult to tell the story exactly as it was

It is the aim of this paper to review, clarify and evaluate criticisms of bioclimate
envelope models and to discuss their implications for the different predictive
modelling approaches used. The paper presents concepts that may be familiar to
many ecologists, but which we think it may be useful to collate and re evaluate in the
light of recent critiques. The bioclimate envelopes approach is first explained and
placed within the context of ecological niche theory. The main criticisms of the
approach are then discussed in turn, using selected examples from the literature. It is
demonstrated that the complexity of the natural system presents fundamental limits
to modelling strategies, making predictive errors inevitable. However, it is also

Computer Science, Georgia State University tkoduri11@gsu.student.edu Abstract
Elementary school is the medium for the students to step into the professional
field. The knowledge can achieved from curriculum by following it.But the hands on
experience on the subject can be gained only through the extracurricular activities. So,
students should take some responsibility to participate in extracurricular activities.
The advantages of extracurricular activities are students can get more personal
experience by involving in these activities and gain more knowledge when compared
to the knowledge obtained from theoretical concepts or curriculum. The student who
involves in extracurricular activities can easily survive in the professional world
while the student who only dependant on curriculum face some difficulties like
unable to make a right decision at right time, communication with peers and also face
difficulty in implementation of concepts . In this paper we collect both the data from
the students who involved in extracurricular activities and the data collected from
academic curriculum of students in a semester. This paper proposes that how
extracurricular activities support the overall growth of student by using
computational intelligence. I like the idea of determining relationship using mamdani

Comparing The Lamb and The Tyger by William Blake
Of the many poetic works by William Blake, The Lamb and The Tyger show a large
amount of similarity, as well as differences, both in the way he describes the creatures
and in the style he chose to write them.
The reader will find many similarities in these two poems. Both of them discuss the
creation of the creatures by God. The lines, Little Lamb, who made thee? and What
immortal hand or eye could frame thy fearful symmetry clearly show that the poet
is referring to a being who is capable of creating life (538). These two poems are
also alike in the aspect that they both talk about the object viewed in the eyes of the
common man. The

The use of questions is also highly utilized in the two written works. This makes the
reader ponder the subject discussed in the poem. The words thy , thou , thine , and
thee present in the poems show that both of them were written in the deferential
language of the Bible.
Although The Lamb and The Tygershare many similarities, they also have some
differences. The poems suggest that the lamb and the tiger were both created by
the same creator. The poems read together also raise some interesting questions.
How could a creator create a soft, gentle, loving creature, and with the same hand
construct a dangerous creature? How could the creator s hand make a creature with
the softest clothing of delight, then grab the fire that is in the tiger s eye? Blake
suggests God seemed pleased with his creation of the lamb and felt a feeling of fear
and regretfullness after creating the tiger. In The Lamb , William Blake compares the
lamb to the Baby Jesus. In contrast, he uses earthly features such as night, fire, skies,
and forests to describe the mighty tiger.
The two poems also show differences in the way they were written.
Instead of using alternating two and six lined stanzas like he used in The
Lamb , Blake uses constant four lined stanzas to provide his image of his tiger. The
titles also reveal different spellings. The lamb is spelled as it was intended, simple,
short, and sweet. In Blake s

The comfort women issue has been an ongoing dispute for more than seventy years
now. The role of comfort women in WWII was to raise the morale of soldiers by
providing services. It is estimated that less than a quarter of the comfort women
survived the ordeal, however the exact number is not recorded. Since then, Japan has
decided to remain silent in order to avoid any conflicts or issues. The comfort women
issue didn t become acknowledged until the 1990s when comfort women started to
testify in court. There are now people who are rising to conclude the comfort women
issue, and making the issue public. People are now demanding that Japan apologizes
for what they have done and request compensation to the victims. To this day, Japan

However, denialists today still refuse to accept the testimonies of comfort women
victims. The entire issue is confusing, because of all of the conflicting opinions and
sides. The Japanese government claims that they have formally apologized for what
they have done in the past. On the website for the Japanese government, they claim
that they have made amends by giving money to all of the victims. They also claim
to have donated money to organizations that assist comfort women. The one thing
that doesn t make sense, is that they say that they are teaching about comfort
women in schools. If the government is really for teaching about comfort women,
then why are people still denying that the comfort women issue is real? The
testimonies of the comfort women are very important to the issue, because it gives
both sides information to work with. The testimonies are necessary evidence due to
the lack of official information provided by the Japanese government. The
government destroyed a lot of documents of WWII, so some information on the
comfort women is lost. It is unsure if the information has been lost or if they are just
being concealed. There is a lot of proof that points towards the idea that the Japanese
government is at fault. There is enough evidence and information provided by both
sides, so why is the issue still

Both the Song of Songs and Sappho s love poems stem from the core concept of the
overall intimacy and indescribable nature of love. Both reach to describe love by
comparing to the beauty of nature and the underlying feelings presented by nature;
however, the two differ in their specific context of love. The Songof Songs covers
what would be today called the honeymoon phase where the loveis sweet, perfect and
what the world envisions, whereas Sappho takes the melancholic side of love,
focused on entrapment, and overall heartbreak. These differences create completely
different stories of love, one of life long happiness, and one of chasing love. The
Song of Songs develops a theme of love with its use of naturalistic comparisons.

same purpose; to paint a picture of love. Under the surface though, Sappho is
painting a beautiful picture of love to win over the help of Aphrodite to help
satisfy her need for a fulfilling love, as is a common theme in her poems. Present in
both Song of Songs and Sappho s love poems, is the comparison of the rushing
feeling of love to a stream of water, a protective, but fruitful apple tree, all placed
within a pleasant garden. The stream in the Song of Songs is a spring shut up (132),
representing a love that wishes to flow/be consummated, but ultimately cannot

With practical aesthetics the actor breaks the scene down into four parts, the
literal, the want, the essential, and the as if. With each part there is something the
actor can do to make the character better for them to act as. First is the literal. For
the literal, the actor is looking for what actually happens in the scene. For example,
in the movie Wreck It Ralph, when Ralph wrecks Vanellope s car, Vanellope is
extremely upset with Ralph. Second is the want. For the want, the actor is looking
for what the actor actually wants. Another example from Wreck It Ralph is that
Vanellope wants to be in the race, while Ralph doesn t want her game to be shut

as if. For the as if, the actor is looking for how the essential action is relatable to the

would simply think back to a time in his/her life when he/she was upset or

actual goal is not to look after them, but mainly to make a profit by subtly yet
subtly targeting insecurities that a lot of these women share and struggle with.

Jennifer Lopez was chosen as a fitting narrator of the one minute commercial. Being

women who either possibly adore Lopez or just know her in general. The commercial
tries to show understanding of women s dilemma about body imageand evokes a

Hardin s version is essentially a critique of overpopulation; the causes, the dangers,
and the remedies, as he believes that over breeding is causing the population to grow

us to extinction. He blames the welfare state for providing for children and
supporting breeding as a human right. Instead, he suggests individual responsibility

39. Analysis Of Woodrow Wilson s The Straw That Broke The...
Following WW1, Europe was left in a bad state. Empires were destroyed and states
were being formed. The Minority question that arose following the war, albeit
important, was not as much of a destabilizing force in this time as people like to
think. It was only the byproduct of events that took place. These events include the
publishing of the fourteen points, the settlements made during the Paris Peace
conference, and the creation of state constitutions. The minority question was, in
essence, the straw that broke the camel s back, breaking the already damaged
infrastructure of post war Europe.
In order to answer the question on why minority rights became such a destabilizing
force after the war, we must first look at what caused this problem to become the
forefront of many European minds. Two pivotal events took place following the war
that left stains on Europe; stains that, to some, indirectly led to the start of World War
2. The first and most important event was the publishing of Woodrow Wilsons
fourteen points on January 8, 1918. These points were created in the hope to promote
peace and harmony among the recently war stricken nations of Europe. One
prominent point that came from this document was the idea of self determination.
This encouraged people to form their own nation where they could choose rulers and
live amongst others who share the same culture. This piqued the interest of the
millions of people living in the various, and heavily

Two Survivors of the Holocaust Don t Worry this is not one of those gross and gory
stories about the Holocaust. It is and compare and contrast of two families where

the holocaust, but there is also many who survived such a traumatic event. These
people s stories can be so different, but also so alike at the same time and that is
what I am going to elaborate on today.
Kurt and Gerda s lives before the war before the war were very different, mostly
because of their living circumstances were so different. Before the war started Kurt
a year after his sister moved to the United States of America, and Gerda and her
family stayed in their homeland of Poland until were kicked out later on after the
World War 2 started. When Kurt first moved to America it was just him and his

42. A Study on Mozart
Mozart s String Quartet No.6 in Bb Major K.159 3 has a classic rondo form that
includes several repeated parts punctuated by lively interludes in keeping with its
allegro grazioso tempo. Using repetition throughout the composition enables
symmetry, but the piece is not perfectly symmetrical either. The form resolves itself
via a reinterpretation of the central, key section. That thematic section starts the piece,
but it does not end the piece. The coda is a completely different phrase from the main
theme, but in its key tonic element. The opening eight bars can be considered the
central phrase and theme, if not the chorus of the string quartet. This thematic
element anchors the ear and provides a foundation and structure for the entire
composition. The opening eight bars are repeated when they first appear when
opening the string quartet, setting the tone of the piece for the first sixteen bars. The
thematic element is also repeated in the third cluster. Thus, the first three of the piece
s fourteen clusters forms a sort of chapter. From there on in, the eight bar thematic
segment is played only in singular, rather than being repeated. Even without the
repetition, the theme remains cohesive. Mozart embeds a remarkable amount of
symmetry and structure into this string quartet. The first section after the first
thematic element consists of four distinct segments or phrases of four bars each.
Likewise, the second section after the thematic element also consists of four

44. `` A Cyborg Manifesto `` By Manfred E. Clynes And

The cyborg figure is a common fixture in both science and science fiction. The term,
coined by Manfred E. Clynes and Nathan S. Kline in 1960, refers to an organism
with enhanced functionality due to the incorporation of a mechanical component
(Clynes and Kline, 27). The animal machine hybrid was a figuration and
embodiment of the modern era s lust for technology as a means of pushing the
human towards what was often militaristic and capitalist ideals. However, in her
groundbreaking essay A Cyborg Manifesto , Donna Harawayappropriates the
patriarchal cyborg figure for feminist purposes, drawing on its composited ontology
as a model for female liberation. Her essay posits a psychological escape from the
dualisms that hamper the female sense of self, through its account of boundary
breakdowns and its rejection of totalized identity. This psychological escape becomes
active politically when applied to challenge the authority of the physical acts of
oppression where these dualisms often manifest. However, the manifesto s inability to
entirely account for cultural differentialism within feminismcauses it to fall
somewhat under Haraway s goal of promoting the particular female self.
First published in 1985 as part of The Socialist Review and later updated in 1991 as
part of her anthology of essays Simians, Cyborgs, and Women (the latter of which
will be the version analyzed), Donna Haraway s A Cyborg Manifesto constructs a
feminist call to action by situating a myth of the
45. Turning Point Of D-Day Essay
One of the most important days in all of history had its beginnings in the
meteorological offices of two world powers. This day is none other then D day, the
turning point of World War II. Although years of military planning went into D day
the success if the invasion hinged entirely on a force out of any army s control, the
weather. The allied powers had to rely entirely on the weather forecasters of the
allied powers, most notably the U.S and UK to figure out what day would have the
proper conditions to land at Normandy. Even so, the final history changing
decision rested in the hands of one man, James Martin Stagg. Originally, the D day
invasion was planned to be on June 5th, but mere hours before the invasion was set
to start Stagg urged for a last minute delay of the attack. Stagg and his fellow
forecasters at Met. Office had predicted that the clear skies would soon be home to
ugly storms. This call went against the advice of the US forecasters who thought that
it was safe to go. This decision had the potential to jeopardize the entire mission....

Stagg s prediction and last minute decision had turned out to be the best one the
allies could ve made. If the allies would ve chosen to go on the 5th the invasion
would ve been halted by the a storm. If the allies had chosen to hold of there next
date for invasion would ve been two weeks later. As it turns out an unpredicted
storm would ve hindered the invasion even further. At this point it would ve been
nearly impossible for the Allies to attack without the Germans having some idea of
what they were going to do. To sum it up The key elements of surprise location and
time would ve been lost, and the conquest of Western Europe could well have taken
another year (The Weather Forecast that Saved D day). Without the help of the Allied
meteorologists this opportunity would ve surely been lost, making theirs the most
important weather forecast of all

48. The Rising Costs Of The War
The rising costs of the war, coupled with falling oil prices in 1986, led to the use of
non oil exports to generate revenue because oil income was no longer a guaranteed
source of foreign currency. To finance short term debts, Iran drained its small
reserve of foreign currency by allowing advance drawing on revenues. The FY
1987 budget also reflected the priority of the war effort. The government again
promised to curb inflation, to continue to subsidize basic foodstuffs, and to make
billions available to the import sector, presumably for consumer use. The Iranian
fiscal year begins on March 21 and runs through March 20 of the following
calendar year. The budget, presented to the Majlis by the Planning and Budget
Organization, consists of three sections: ordinary, plan, and defense allocations.
Because of conflict between the Revolution s stated opposition to the massive
defense expenditures of the shah and the high cost of the war with Iraq that began
less than one year after the Revolution, by late 1987 there had been no fiscal year in
which defense expenditures were not severely understated for domestic political
reasons. As a result, attempting to set forth actual figures on the money supply,
especially as a function of fiscal policy, was almost pointless. The preamble to the
Constitution vests supreme authority in the faqih. According to Article 5, the faqih is
the just and pious jurist who is recognized by the majority of the people at any
period as best qualified
49. Essay On Student Behavior
Student Behavior in the United States Education System
Approximately 20% of children exhibit symptoms consists with a diagnosable mental
disorder; however, children often do not receive mental health services until their
symptoms have become severe, and only 1% are identified with an emotional and/or
behavior disorder in the school setting and receive special education for these
disorders. Additionally, children who do not have a diagnosis, but exhibit challenges
with social and behavioral skills, tend to have challenges in the academic setting, but
often to do also receive effective supports.
Researchers estimate that between one and 5% of children have a severe emotional
and/or behavioral disorder (Costello, Mustillo, Erkanli, Keller, ... Show more content

MTSS as Prevention. Schools are an ideal place to assist children with mental health
issues. Using a preventive model, such as the MTSS model described above, to
catch problems early may prevent children from developing more serious or longer
term problems. Research indicates that treating children who are at risk for
emotional and behavioral problems can decrease the likelihood that they will later
be diagnosed with a mental health disorder while also lowering the healthcare costs.
However, traditionally, behavior problems have not been addressed until a student
receives one or more office discipline referrals, and there tends to be a two year gap
between the time that the child first receives an outside diagnosis and when they
begin receiving services in the schools.
Universal screeners provide schools information that may help prevent future office
disciplinary referrals and prevent future behavior challenges. Therefore, providing a
universal screener may identify children who would otherwise not receive services
until the problem behavior becomes severe. Previous research demonstrates that
children who were identified by the Behavioral and Emotional Screening System
(BESS) as at risk earned lower report grades than their peers, whether or not they
were deemed at risk according to traditional teacher referral

United...
2.0. Introduction The Republic of South Africa signed the Kyoto Protocol under
the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) on 31
July, 2002 as a non annex I party. Therefore, South Africa, like all other developing
countries has not been allocated specific targets to commit to under the protocol.
At the 15th Conference of the Parties (COP) negotiations that took place in
Copenhagen in 2009 (UNFCC, 2009), South Africa took the responsibility to carry
out mitigation actions to reduce their emissions 34% by the year 2020, and 42%
by the year 2025, below the business as usual trajectory (Voster, Winkler and
Meagan, 2011 p.243). However, this pledge is subject to the provision and
assistance of adequate, capacity building, financial and technological support from
other developed countries. These targets were officially submitted to the
Copenhagen Accord on 29 January, 2010. Furthermore, South Africa is said to be a
participant of the World Bank s Partnership for Market Readiness (PMR). This is a
capacity building program supporting the development of market based policies.
South Africa s exposure to the carbon market has mainly been through the Clean
Development Mechanism (CDM). There are projects that are submitted to the
Designated National Authority (DNA) for initial review and approval. They cover
the following project types; bio fuels, energy efficiency, waste management,
cogeneration, fuel switching and hydro power, and cover sectors like
