 Soap is the most common means that

 It removes excess oil & dirt from the skin.

 Soap dissolves in water to form free fatty
acid & a strong base e.g. Na soap will
produce NaOH.
 Soaps act by forming emulsion with the
oil & dirt molecules in water.
 Thus they remove dirt and oil from body.

 The primary difference between these two is
texture. Shower gel has a firmer, gel like
consistency, while body wash is more like liquid
soap.
 They differ slightly in their concentration.
Shower gel frequently has a higher concentration
of fragnace & tends to go farther
