This document provides information on the origin, insertion, and actions of four gluteal muscles: Gluteus Medius, Gluteus Minimus, Tensor Fasciae Latae, and Adductor Longus. Gluteus Medius originates on the lateral surface of the ilium and inserts on the posterior and middle surfaces of the greater trochanter of the femur. It acts to abduct, laterally rotate, and externally rotate the hip. Gluteus Minimus originates below Gluteus Medius and inserts most inferiorly on the greater trochanter, acting to abduct and internally rotate the hip. Tensor Fasciae Latae originates on the anterior iliac crest and acts
