This document discusses optimizing biodiesel production from sunflower oil using response surface methodology. It describes materials and equipment used, including a reactor and stirrer. The objective is to evaluate the effects of temperature, catalyst concentration, and methanol to oil ratio on biodiesel yield. Experiments tested various conditions and found the optimum to be a molar ratio of 6.825:1, temperature of 48°C, and potassium hydroxide concentration of 0.679wt%. Results found biodiesel production has a negative quadratic relationship with the reaction parameters. Biodiesel is compatible with diesel fuel systems and can be blended and used in diesel engines.
