ABSTRACT
A pilot program in Austin, Texas, tested the practicality of integrating a real-time ridesharing application with a toll operator to process toll discounts for carpools. The toll discounts appeared on monthly toll transaction statements. The program lasted for almost a year on the 183A Toll Road and the US 290 Manor Expressway. Travelers used a smartphone application to track, record, and submit their trips for discounts. Two-person carpools that used the application received a 50 percent discount, and carpools of three or more people could travel toll-free. The program was a partnership between the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority, the local toll systems operator, and a private ridesharing vendor. Back-office processes matched trip data from the smartphone application to transactions recorded by the toll systems. A total of 95 unique drivers were provided toll rebates for 2,213 trips during the 10.5-month pilot period. Most trips during the pilot program were rebated for two-person carpools. Individual driver behavior varied considerably. A select few drivers had a high number of carpool trips, while others took a sporadic or infrequent trip. Drivers took a median of 7 trips during the pilot. Future rideshare programs should consider showing higher-dollar rebates that represent annual savings to incentivize behavior. Timely feedback was found to be an important factor for success. Additionally, program sponsors should provide positive customer service and engage users when problems exist that are not under their direct purview.

CORSA: An Open Solution for Social Oriented Real-time Ride SharingGreenapps&web
Simone Bonarrigo, Vincenza Carchiolo, Alessandro Longheu, Mark Philips Loria, Michele Malgeri and Giuseppe Mangioni
The combination of the interest in environmental questions on one hand and the massive use of web based social networks on the other recently led to a revival of carpooling. In particular, the exploitation of social networks promotes the information spreading for an effective service (e.g. reducing the lack of confidence among users) and endorses carpooling companies via viral marketing, finally acting as a basis for trust based users recommendation system In this work we outline CORSA, an open source solution for a real time ride sharing (RTRS) carpooling service that endorses the role of social networks by using them as a conveying scenario for the virtual credits reward mechanism CORSA is based on.

Ride Sharing App Development- A Gateway to Enhance Travel & Tourism Industry.pdfTechugo
Many fundamental steps are required to create ridesharing apps that are unique and effective. This includes conducting market research, selecting key features, and estimating costs.
There must be two panels, one for riders/passengers and another for drivers. This divides the fundamental elements required to build a rideshare management app.
This article will discuss the features you need to include when working with a ride sharing app development company such as Techugo to build a rideshare app.
The Bicycle ride sharing as we know is affordable, easily accessible and reliable mode of transportation. But an efficient bicycle sharing capable of not only sharing bicycle also provides information regarding the availability of bicycle per station, route business, time/day-wise bicycle schedule.
Recently, rates of vehicle ownership have risen globally, exacerbating problems including air pollution,
lack of parking, and traffic congestion. While many solutions to these problems have been proposed,
Carpooling is one of the most effective solutions to this problems Recently, several carpooling
platforms have been built on cloud computing systems, with originators posting online list of
departure/arrival points and schedules from which participants can search for rides that match their
needs. In this paper, an improved carpool system is described in detail and called the improved
intelligent carpool system (IICS), which provides car poolers the use of the carpool services via a smart
handheld device anywhere and at any time. This IICS Consist the geographical, traffic, and societal
information and used to manage requests and find minimum route. We apply advanced genetic-based
carpool route and matching algorithm (AGCRMA) for this multiobjective optimization problem called
the carpool service problem (CSP).
Cosmetic shop management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
Buying new cosmetic products is difficult. It can even be scary for those who have sensitive skin and are prone to skin trouble. The information needed to alleviate this problem is on the back of each product, but it's thought to interpret those ingredient lists unless you have a background in chemistry.
Instead of buying and hoping for the best, we can use data science to help us predict which products may be good fits for us. It includes various function programs to do the above mentioned tasks.
Data file handling has been effectively used in the program.
The automated cosmetic shop management system should deal with the automation of general workflow and administration process of the shop. The main processes of the system focus on customer's request where the system is able to search the most appropriate products and deliver it to the customers. It should help the employees to quickly identify the list of cosmetic product that have reached the minimum quantity and also keep a track of expired date for each cosmetic product. It should help the employees to find the rack number in which the product is placed. It is also Faster and more efficient way.

CFD Simulation of By-pass Flow in a HRSG module by R&R Consult.pptxR&R Consult
CFD analysis is incredibly effective at solving mysteries and improving the performance of complex systems!
Here's a great example: At a large natural gas-fired power plant, where they use waste heat to generate steam and energy, they were puzzled that their boiler wasn't producing as much steam as expected.
R&R and Tetra Engineering Group Inc. were asked to solve the issue with reduced steam production.
An inspection had shown that a significant amount of hot flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes, where the heat was supposed to be transferred.
R&R Consult conducted a CFD analysis, which revealed that 6.3% of the flue gas was bypassing the boiler tubes without transferring heat. The analysis also showed that the flue gas was instead being directed along the sides of the boiler and between the modules that were supposed to capture the heat. This was the cause of the reduced performance.
Based on our results, Tetra Engineering installed covering plates to reduce the bypass flow. This improved the boiler's performance and increased electricity production.
It is always satisfying when we can help solve complex challenges like this. Do your systems also need a check-up or optimization? Give us a call!

Immunizing Image Classifiers Against Localized Adversary Attacksgerogepatton
This paper addresses the vulnerability of deep learning models, particularly convolutional neural networks
(CNN)s, to adversarial attacks and presents a proactive training technique designed to counter them. We
introduce a novel volumization algorithm, which transforms 2D images into 3D volumetric representations.
When combined with 3D convolution and deep curriculum learning optimization (CLO), itsignificantly improves
the immunity of models against localized universal attacks by up to 40%. We evaluate our proposed approach
using contemporary CNN architectures and the modified Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR-10
and CIFAR-100) and ImageNet Large Scale Visual Recognition Challenge (ILSVRC12) datasets, showcasing
accuracy improvements over previous techniques. The results indicate that the combination of the volumetric
input and curriculum learning holds significant promise for mitigating adversarial attacks without necessitating
adversary training.
Hierarchical Digital Twin of a Naval Power SystemKerry Sado
A hierarchical digital twin of a Naval DC power system has been developed and experimentally verified. Similar to other state-of-the-art digital twins, this technology creates a digital replica of the physical system executed in real-time or faster, which can modify hardware controls. However, its advantage stems from distributing computational efforts by utilizing a hierarchical structure composed of lower-level digital twin blocks and a higher-level system digital twin. Each digital twin block is associated with a physical subsystem of the hardware and communicates with a singular system digital twin, which creates a system-level response. By extracting information from each level of the hierarchy, power system controls of the hardware were reconfigured autonomously. This hierarchical digital twin development offers several advantages over other digital twins, particularly in the field of naval power systems. The hierarchical structure allows for greater computational efficiency and scalability while the ability to autonomously reconfigure hardware controls offers increased flexibility and responsiveness. The hierarchical decomposition and models utilized were well aligned with the physical twin, as indicated by the maximum deviations between the developed digital twin hierarchy and the hardware.

.Abstract – Bike pooling, is the sharing of bike
journeys so that more than one person travels on a
bike .Bike pooling reduces each person’s travels
costs such as fuel costs, and the stress of driving.
Bike pooling is also seen as a more environ-
mentally friendly and sustainable way to travel as
sharing journeys reduces carbon emissions, tra_c
congestion on the roads. Authorities often
encourage bike pooling, especially during high
pollution periods and high fuel prices. We intent
on making an ANDROID based application that
will enable to let people know if vehicles are
available for bike pool in their desired path they
can sign in for it. This will enable people using
this application to share expense. We will link
aadhar card to the application for getting users
true identity. People having this application on
their cell phone can easily bike pool with unac
quainted people without worrying about security.
1. INTRODUCTION
The purpose of the Software Design
Document is to provide a description of the design
of a system fully enough to allow for software
development to proceed with an understanding of
what is to be built and how it is expected to built.
The Software De-sign Document provides
information necessary to provide description of the
details for the software and system to be built.
The system for Bike Pooling using Android
Application. First the user will register through an
android device, enter his/her details to the applica-
tion, and enter the location where he/she wants to
reach. Then booking of bikes is done user accepts
the request. After registration and booking, cur- rent
location of user and consumer will be displayed and
also the path for travelling showing shortest route
will be displayed using GPS navigation and
integrated Google maps. The user will picked up
from current location and dropped to the desired
destination safely with minimum cost.
System Architecture
2. EXISTING SYSTEM
The various other existing system are as
follow :
I) BlaBlaCar :- This application work as
our application but it only use for cars and
also it used for long rides not for the city
rides. And the driver decides the fares they
never understand the users issue they ask
for more charges as per their own request
its not centralized process anyone can
2. create their ride without any verification.
That’s why we are working on best
application for bike sharing.
II) OLA/UBER:- Another car pooling
application is here. We all know about
OLA/UBER application we use it for cab
sharing but their charges are very high
many of people doesn’t afford the charges
for that reason many of them never use
OLA/UBER cab sharing application. And
only for those people and who loves bikes
we are working on bike sharing
application.
III) CARMA POOLING:-Carma
differentiates itself as a carpooling app
rather than ridesharing app. According to
Product Manager Emmett Murphy, the app
lets users share commuting costs with
neighbors and colleagues headed the same
way. Riders pay .20 per mile, standard,
which means drivers don't make a profit.
"Because Carma drivers simply use it on
their way to and from work, they never
need to detour to other destinations,"
Murphy said. Once the trip starts, a timer
on the app keeps track of the trip distance
and automatically pays the driver when the
trip ends.
IV) RIDE SCOUT:- “We bring the entire
transportation ecosystem together,"
said Ride Scout CEO, Joseph Kopser.
Instead of focusing just on bike shares,
carpools, or bus schedules RideScout
offers all available options and allows the
user to compare, including some of the
other apps on this list, like Carma and
Sidecar. "It's an experience everyone
faces," Kopser said, "you may have your
set route, but life throws you a curveball."
for a total of six cities by June.
3. PROPOSED SYSTEM
Our goal is to develop a application just
changing in existing cab sharing
applications our aim is develop an android
application for bikes for those people who
doesn’t afford the taxi charges as well as
who loves bikes more. The bike sharing
process is same as well as OLA/UBER but
in place of those we place our application
for ride sharing.
Given the relatively short life of bike
sharing programs in the United States, data
is only starting to emerge on the many
benefits of a bike share transportation
system. However, the data that has
surfaced so far is encouraging. Across both
North America and Europe, cities large
and small are beginning to not only reap
the benefits of a bike share investment, but
also to better measure the direct and
indirect impact of the system on their
communities. Bike share systems impact
many different dimensions of quality of
life, and thus provide a variety of
economic, transportation, and
environmental benefits to the cities they
serve.
Bike sharing improve public transit
connectivity Perceptions about the
convenience of local public transit has
been identified in research by UpDayton
to be a barrier to young talent attraction
and retention. Survey data collected for
three North American cities with existing
bike share systems indicates a bike share
could help overcome this barrier. Over
75% of bike share members in Minnesota,
Montreal, and Toronto indicate bike
sharing has improved the “connectivity” of
their public transit.Furthermore, over 40%
report using the bike share with another
form of local transit to complete a trip that
they otherwise would have done by car.10
Bike sharing completes the “last mile”
between a transit stop and a user’s
eventual destination, thus improving the
convenience of the entire system.
There are many points are important in
Bike sharing application but we focus on
the main topics are as follows:-
1) Bike sharing help us to reduce the
air pollution.
2) Its same as the cab sharing apps
but the main reason behind this
application is fare/charges.
3) Each and every people can use it
after successful registration.
3. 4) The transport issue in India can
reduce while we use our
application in real life.
5) In our world the maximum number
of vehicles are in Pune and we take
advantage on them
6) We were not developing this
application for job purpose and we
never hire any driver for ride but
anyone can registered on it and
use it.
7) The estimated charges based on
bike average, millage and the
waiting charges.
4. LITERATURE SURVEY
1). Integrating bicycling and public transport in
north America
AUTHOR: john pucher ralph buehler
Description: This paper provides an overview of
bike-transit integration in large American and
Canadian cities. It begins with an analysis of
national trends in bike-and-ride programs such as
the provision of bike racks on buses,
accommodation of bikes on rail vehicles, and bike
parking at rail stations and bus stops. Most of the
paper, however, is devoted to case studies of bike-
transit integration in six large American cities (San
Francisco, Portland, Minneapolis, Chicago,
Washington, and New York) and two Canadian
cities (Vancouver and Toronto).
Much progress has been made over the past decade
in coordinating cycling with public transport, but
the demand for bikeandride far exceeds the supply
of facilities in some cities.
2). Bikeshare Pool Sizing for Bike-and-Ride
Multimodal Transit
AUTHOR::guominhg tang, lukasz golab
Description: In shared bike and ride transit systems,
commuters use shared bicycles for last mile
transport between transit stations and home, and
between transit stations and work locations. This
requires pools of bicycles to be located near each
transit stop where commuters can drop o_ and pick
up shared bikes. We study the optimal sizing of
such bicycle pools. While various problems related
to vehicle pool sizing have been studied before, to
the best of our knowledge this is the erst paper that
considers a multimodal transportation system with a
regularly scheduled public transportation backbone
and shared bicycles for the east and last mile. We
present two solutions that guarantee bicycle
availability with high probability, and we
empirically verify their effectiveness using Monte
Carlo simulations. Compared to a baseline solution,
our techniques reduce the size of the bike share
pool at the public transit station from 39 to 75 in the
tested scenarios.
3). Reliable and Low-cost Cyclist Collision
Warning System for Safer Commute on Urban
Roads
AUTHOR: Jessica Van Brummelen, Bara Emran,
Kurt Yesilcimen, and Homayoun Najjaran
Description: Collision warning and avoidance is a
well-established area of research for the automotive
industry. However, there is little research towards
vitally important collision warning systems for
cyclists, who are increasingly jeopardized by
motorists on urban roads, especially as quiet, fast
electric vehicles become more popular. This paper
describes the hardware and software of a low-cost
collision warning system for cyclists. Installed on
the back of a bike seat, the system consists of a
single-beam laser range_nder and two ultrasonic
sensors that detect oncoming vehicles from behind,
two handlebar eccentric mass vibrators
that provide left and right haptic feedback to the
cyclist, and a taillight that warns oncoming
vehicles.
4). Secure Bike Sharing System for Multi-modal
Journey
AUTHOR: Mohammad Shahriar Rahman
Description: Bike sharing systems (BSSs) are
getting popular in many cities of the world as an
integrated part of multimodal journey due to its
edibility and eco friendly nature. Future BSSs will
have a pool of Internet of Things (IoT)integrated
4. smart bikes with computation and communication
capabilities. Such systems will be able to provide
the service providential meantime real
transformation- ally user demands, bikes and
environments for improved quality of services.
However, manipulation of logistics data (e.g.
showing availability of bikes or parking where none
may exist) and mobility operations
(e.g. unauthorized tampering with service related
data)may disrupt the whole service. This paper
proposes a framework for secure bike sharing
service under multi-modal journey environment
using symmetric key encryption and digital. Our
proposal lets a service provider to collect
information from stations and external service
providers, and communicate with users in a secure
way so that the user gets correct information and a
quality service. The proposed framework has the
potential to over enhanced quality of service
through security features compared to existing
systems for multi-modal transport users.
5). A prediction system for bike sharing using
artificial immune system with regression trees
AUTHOR: Jheng long wu, pei chann chang
Description: In past years, AIS are powerful and
useful algorithms to solve classification and optimal
problems such as intrusion detection, scheduling
and parameters optimization. However, AIS has
rarely been applied in solving the prediction
problem. In this paper, we propose a novel model
by combining AIS with regression trees (RT)
prediction system for a real world application, i.e., a
bike sharing system (BSS).
The cells in AIS are the basic constituent elements
and we embed RT forecasting sub-models in the
AIS to form cells pool and use clone selection
mechanism to generate cloned antibody. Therefore,
AIS-RT prediction system can be applied to solve
the prediction problem. Experiments have been
conducted for AIS-RT on bike sharing system.
Experimental results show that the AIS prediction
system can further improve the performance of an
adopted forecasting model; and further- more
outperform the performances of other ensemble
approaches.
5. CONCLUSION
This bike sharing application is an application that
complies to the enterprise class application
principles. It is designed to be performing, scalable,
extensible, and highly available. It also ensures the
privacy of the user's data and secures its access.
Given that it may be improved in many ways, the
application is also easily maintainable.
There is no any Bike sharing application presents in
India all the applications are available for renting
purpose and the
Cab sharing. That's why we working on sharing
application like other cab sharing applications.
The result achieved in this project is a working
Android application and server that perform the
requirements stated in this document. It is still not
ready to be deployed on the Play
Store for the public. The main reason is that the
server should be deployed on stronger hardware
with a good Internet connection. The constraint that
should have been considered is that developing a
server and an Android application demand a lot of
work. This should be considered in the time
allowed for each one of these activities. Due to this
lack of time, many things can be improved in the
present application. This includes a better user
interface with more attractive styles. Also, adding
more support for authentication systems can be an
improvement.
