What I've Learnt from Social Media ListeningJoe Edwards
I uncover some of the techniques used to understand audiences through social media listening and measuring, how it can inform social, business and marketing strategy, hone social media activity and work to improve brand perception. As part of the presentation he'll also look at various brands and case studies to identify real world examples.
Brands are built on the people that believe in them. Your marketing content is first step to building that brand, but you must include a solid community strategy. This presentation covers both.
We are at a crucial time where everyone from senior level marketing directors to fresh out of college interns need to become better storytellers. Why is it you ask? Well, as we move into 2016, it’s harder now than ever to successfully communicate your brand story. Content marketing is no longer a trend, it’s the way brands speak to their audience. With attention deficit on the rise, everyone is out to duel each other in order to win over their audience.
TINT and Visually are joining forces to teach you all the powerful strategies to survive today's brutal market.
Here is what we will cover in this webinar:
-The origins of storytelling and what we can learn from Shakespeare
-How to tell stories that evoke emotion and motivate action
-How to make your visual content get noticed by even those with the smallest attentions spans

Challenges and successes of marketers from across the world

Apparently, a lot.

We’ll cover what we have planned for new products added to the Sysomos portfolio (Expion, Gaze, and Scout), and outline ways you can use two new products - Sysomos Influence and Sysomos Optimize - to zero in on key influencers and get more from targeted paid media on Twitter.

Social Media Measurement Best Practice SeminarAustin Gaule
This Slideshare represents the powerpoint that was used for Jared Troutman's speech on 9/13/2014 at the Omaha Press Club for the Social Media Measurement Best Practice Seminar.
We will share how to truly evaluate how well your company is marketing itself. When it comes down to actually evaluating PR initiatives, organizations aren't exactly sure. Marketing and PR is considered > intangible in terms of its ROI and associating an actual matrix to its value. Companies know that they need it but consider it a gray area when it comes to setting expectations for their in-house team as well as for their public relation agency, if they have one.
Here are just a few of the questions we will consider along with the importance of why we are considering them:
Is your company vision clearly mapped out for today and for future products and/or services as a context for all company communications?
Have you developed your company's key messages for each unique audience and defined competitive differentiators?
Are you utilizing a matrix to measure the overall success in communicating the company's key messages effectively?
Are you getting placements in at least 50% of relevant editorial opportunities? How do you know?
In producing third-party endorsements, customer testimonials, and success studies, how are you marketing them?
Are you actively seeking award opportunities? How many awards have you received so far this year?
Have you conducted a perception study to understand how your key constituents perceive your company?
We will provide a "How To" PR guide and explain the importance of measuring the results. PR performance measurement encompasses a measure of business value, of strategic alignment and of marketing efficiency. It can seem too abstract to fit easily into a concrete measurement like it does for sales but through our 10 plus years of PR experience, we definitely have seen the PR measurement matrix evolve. Our presentation will help organizations get a handle on setting PR expectations as well as how to successfully fulfill those expectations. We are excited to share with the group through our experience, industry research and customer stories on how organizations are able to evaluate what PR investments they should make along with how to measure their outcome and success.
Racking up Facebook Likes looks great, but those Likes are useless unless they drive leads and sales. So how do you turn Facebook fans into paying customers?
Facebook partner and top social media thought leader Mari Smith reveals seven proven tactics for growing a fiercely loyal customer base on Facebook.
We could all use a little inspiration to think differently about measuring our outputs, outcomes and overall value as marketers. Especially on those days when you feel like you’re drowning in data or struggling to demonstrate ROI clearly. These are some of our favorite quotes – some sassy, some serious and some old – about PR measurement that will keep you inspired while you’re working on a big dashboard for a client or tracking down clips for a report.
Instagram is growing rapidly, with 26 percent of adults now using the social media network. Yet, only a few brands include Instagram in their social media strategy…and even fewer use it properly.

Talking about Big Data generates a lot of questions; however, most of the focus is on the technologies and skills required to collect and store this volume of information as opposed to the insight that companies need to derive from it. What factors should organizations consider in order to ensure that they are capitalizing on their investments with these technologies? How do you break through business silos to enable sharing of data to increase organizational value? Leveraging his cross-industry experience at companies like The Walt Disney Company, Travelers Insurance and Demand Media, Brendan Aldrich will discuss the question of “big value” with industry examples and a particular focus on his current work to deploy a “data democracy” within the City Colleges of Chicago.
Session Discovery Topics:
• Big value - keeping an eye on the forest (assumptions, judgment and bias)
• Data democracy - increasing productivity with data transparency and open access

However, what we’re actually seeing, is that most companies are already struggling with the small amount of data they already have accumulated. The trouble is most obvious on these three levels: companies don’t know how to manage the data, companies don’t know how to analyze the data so as to yield insights, companies don’t know how to act upon the new insights. Of course technology is needed. But even more so, a cultural shift in how CMO’s run their daily marketing operations is definitely required. The good news is that, once CMO’s have accomplished this cultural change, they usually don’t go back. Because they realize they now have a huge competitive advantage. Now, those forward-thinking CMO’s are able to use customer data to their advantage by delivering more targeted and relevant messages to people. During this session, you will discover how to embrace the power of data and turn it into gold for your company.

Techniques to optimize the pagerank algorithm usually fall in two categories. One is to try reducing the work per iteration, and the other is to try reducing the number of iterations. These goals are often at odds with one another. Skipping computation on vertices which have already converged has the potential to save iteration time. Skipping in-identical vertices, with the same in-links, helps reduce duplicate computations and thus could help reduce iteration time. Road networks often have chains which can be short-circuited before pagerank computation to improve performance. Final ranks of chain nodes can be easily calculated. This could reduce both the iteration time, and the number of iterations. If a graph has no dangling nodes, pagerank of each strongly connected component can be computed in topological order. This could help reduce the iteration time, no. of iterations, and also enable multi-iteration concurrency in pagerank computation. The combination of all of the above methods is the STICD algorithm. [sticd] For dynamic graphs, unchanged components whose ranks are unaffected can be skipped altogether.

4. What is Big Data?
Data sets so large,
so complex that
traditional software
tools can’t work
with them.
Why now?
– More data
(volume)
– Velocity (faster
rate)
– Types (variety)
5. Big Data – The Data Explosion
IDC released calculations of the total amount of data
now being stored and managed — enough for a
stack of DVDs reaching from the earth to moon and
back (about 240,000 miles each way). By 2020, that
stack will reach halfway to Mars.
“By 2020, the amount of data will have grown 44-
fold, to 35 trillion gigabytes. Fueling the growth will
be the evolution of all major forms of
media – voice, TV, radio, print – from analog to
digital.”
6. Big Data – Defining the Challenge
“Big Data has such a
vast size that it
exceeds the capacity
of traditional data
management
technologies; it
requires the use of
new or exotic
technologies simply
to manage the
volume alone.”
