This document summarizes an energy audit conducted at the BHEL CCDP electrical utilities in Trichy, India from January to April 2012. The objectives of the audit were to conserve energy, achieve commercial benefits for the user, and participate in India's National Mission on Enhanced Energy Efficiency program. Key electrical equipment audited included motors, pumps, cooling towers, lighting, compressors, and transformers. Several underloaded motors were identified along with proposals to install VSD drives, capacitors, and replace motors to improve efficiency. Compressor audits found leakage levels of 30-35% with proposals to arrest leakage to save energy. Lighting audits calculated ILER ratios to determine if areas were underlit or over
