Bhakti yoga is the path of devotion to God through love. There are different types of bhakti described in scriptures like the Bhagavad Gita and Puranas. Nava-vidha bhakti lists nine ways of developing devotion to God - through practices like chanting, meditation, service, ritual worship, and self-offering. Bhakti purifies the heart and removes negative qualities while infusing qualities like joy, peace and knowledge. It is a path of love and attachment to the divine.
