Essay On Iran Hostage Crisis
The Iran Hostage Crisis, the beginning of United States interactions with Islamic extremists and
economic reform in the middle east lasted from 1979 to 1981. The birth of these extremists lies in the
economic policies of the United States and the middle east. The Shah, who was the supreme leader of
the nation of Iran, was an ally of the United States for several decades. Despite his support from the
U.S. government, he was known as a brutal leader who used excessive force and torture of his people,
mostly Iranian students who spoke out against him. After decades of death, torture, abuse and other
heinous crimes against humanity, the people of Iran began supporting Ayatollah Khomeini, a
fundamentalist. To force events to transpire quicker, students took action by attacking the United
States embassy and capturing hostages. These protestors saw the embassy as a physical representation
of support for the Shah and his oppressive and cruel regime. The Americans who were working in the
embassy on that day were taken hostage. What was suspected as being a relatively short hostage

backed coup, his relationship to the U.S. became an even greater source of disapproval with the
Iranian people. Many Iranian began to echo the thoughts of the exiled Khomeini, who preached that
that reliance on the U.S. or any other foreign nation was devastating Iran. He pointed to the benefits
the British and the Americans were getting from Iranian oil while thousands of people were dying
because of the Shah. For several decades the U.S. would support the Shah s economic development
and regional leadership plans. These plans would be paid for fully by exporting the country s
enormous oil wealth. The Shah would use also billions of dollars from the exporting of his oil reserves
to purchase modern and more deadly weapons developed within the United States. Weapons he would
use on his own people and as a deterrent for other nations to become involved in Iranian

The Natural Form Of Vitamin B9
Folate is a vitamin B9. It is the natural form of vitamin B9. It is water soluble vitamin and has a
complex structure that affects its absorption. It is an essential vitamin for proper cell Growth and
embryo development.
It is naturally found in foods like: lentils, beans, asparagus, spinach, turnip greens, and broccoli.
Folic acid is the synthetic form of vitamin B9. It is added to foods and utilized in vitamin supplements
The intestine can absorb folic acid better than folate and it is processed more efficiently in the body.
Availability of folic acid is estimated to be about twice that of food folate.

The, The And, And The New York Times And Tehran
Thematization is considered the mental act or process of selecting particular topics as themes in
discourse or words as themes in sentences. This paper examines thematization strategies in English
opinion articles written by American and Iranian journalists. To this end, two of the leading
newspapers in the United States and Iran, The New York Times and Tehran Times, have been chosen.
Based on the qualitative and quantitative analysis of textual features and marked and unmarked
themes of 12 opinion articles (6 from each newspaper), this study aims to find out how these two
groups of professional writers organize their themes, into marked and unmarked ones and what effects
these organizations have on the audiences. The findings revealed that textual features were present in
both sets of data. The occurrences of marked and unmarked themes were not significantly different.
The findings revealed that thematization patterns can help the understanding of the texts. The results
also showed that marked themes have an impact on the audiences. The results were relatively the same
in the original texts and their translations.

Defending Beef By Niman Summary
In Defence of livestock Although many researchers believe that our planet s environment and
ecosystems are facing many challenges due to livestock production, proponents of livestock
production believe that the reason why the our environmental condition has worsened is not that we
eat more meat but because we eat less of it. Niman argues that instead of decreasing production, we
should focus on producing meat that is more environmentally sound. She also argues that Feed
production with all its attendant problems of fossil fuel consumption, soil erosion, greenhouse gases,
and chemical pollution can be avoided altogether (Niman, 79). In Defending Beef , she explicitly
criticises the FAO s Livestock s Long Shadow and questions certain statements ... Show more content

There are many different practises and methods available for livestock production, and ultimately it is
the choices that farmers make that determines the production s level of sustainability. The practices of
industrial large scale operations like CAFOs result in both environmental damage as well as health
concerns for humans and animals. Depletion, pollution and contamination are the biggest obstacles we
face when trying to move toward a more sustainable planet. But when livestock is handled
responsibly, with consideration for the environment and potential consequences, it is indeed possible
to produce livestock that is beneficial for our planet. Organic and grass based farming systems such as
silvopastoral systems have been proven to increase biodiversity, reverse soil erosion and counteract
water depletion. By encouraging farmers to move towards more sustainable methods like these, we
can help curb today s more urgent issues regarding our environment. While there are disagreements
between researchers on how to do this, they all agree that we have to take some kind of action to save
our planet. Possible ways to achieve this include not consuming meat, or buying meat from local,
organic and grass based farmers to ensure the livestock was raised in a responsible way. If more
consumers demanded this type of meat,

Colorism And Racism
Racism is prominent in the United States. Growing up in my small, predominately white town I did
not recognize it. I had difficulty comprehending what racism is. As I have grown and developed my
understanding of the many identities I hold, I have come to realize racism is the systematic oppression
of people of color rooted in discrimination through the historical power, privilege given to the
dominate identity. With this definition of racism, I can recall many occurrences in my childhood
where I faced both direct and indirect racism. For me a prominent and constant sense of racism comes
from the beauty industry regarding colorism. Colorism is the discrimination based on skin color. The
dominate color or White is considered more desirable and better than darker colors. For me, colorism
came from both folks of my own race and those of the dominate identity. Being raised within the
South Asian community I encountered a strong sense of colorism through beauty standards. Lighter
skin tone was considered better than darker skin tone. This is evident through the large skin whitening
industry within South Asian community. Colorism extremely influenced me. I saw all my favorite
Bollywood actresses having light complexions. I watched ads for skin whitening products showing
lighter skin tone being related to confidence, attractiveness, and happiness. I didn t admittedly talk
about how lighter skin was better; I was just extremely grateful for my lighter complexion in

I. If you disobey the rules of society, they send you to prison; if you disobey the rules of the prison,
they send you to Alcatraz.

mistreatment and escape attempts exaggerated in movies and television shows.

At Alcatraz, there was not special treatment for any inmate, though many tried.
C. As quoted in a report by the Bureau of Prisons, ... Alcatraz served an important purpose in taking
the strain off the older and greatly overcrowded institutions... since it enabled us to move the smaller,
closely guarded escape artists, the big time racketeers... and those who needed protection from other
groups...
Now that you know the kind of prisoners that were sent to Alcatraz,
II. I will discuss life on the island and as an inmate in the prison.
A. Each prisoner received a copy of the Rules and Regulations for the Government... Correctional
Institutions as well as a copy of the warden s special rules that explained the daily routine of work and
counts. The inmates were awakened at 6:30am to begin their day. They were required to clean up
themselves and their cell and required to shave three times a week.
B. Alcatraz was to be operated on the principle of very limited privileges to inmates. The privilege of
visitors had to be earned, and mail privileges were limited. They each held jobs within the prison in
the tailor shop, laundry, cobblers shop, model shop, gardening, or help with the food prep in the mess
hall.
C. Contrary to what the movies portray, there were no experiments made on the prisoners, and the
inmates that were transferred there were already twisted and disturbed; Alcatraz didn t turn them into
monsters. There was however, a dungeon that

Valley Winery
Valley Winery, a successful wine company based in California is quite profitable but faces many
problems in their organization. Such problems consist firstly of a very high employee rate turnover
rate. This rate is actually 100% per year. Each year they hire an average of fifty sales people per year
and the longest working sales rep has only two years of experience with the company. A second
problem facing this organization is its complications with management skills. And the third problem is
the lack of skills that salesmen possess

With regards to continuous restructuring of the company. This issue is a big factor that even stimulates
the first problem. With the re evaluation of the organizational structure the employees tend to lose
confidence and trust in those in charge and therefore their performance is hindered because of this.
Concerning the hiring skills of the company it is very inefficient such as recruiting college kids,
newspaper advertisements, employment agencies and job notices on job search websites. These hiring
skills are very costly and time consuming. The high expectations of management to meet high quotas
is unreasonable and thus puts pressure on the salesmen causing them to perform unethical actions such
as posting incorrect sales figures just to please their managers. Options that can assist the firm in these
issues are by management evaluating the company and making a consistent and permanent
organizational structure. To make the hiring process more efficient it needs to be shorter in length, be
specific in the characteristics of the potential employee to avoid the many steps and narrow the
amount of hiring methods to reduce costs. Not stretching quotas is another factor that needs to be
considered by management. This can be done through lowering their expectations of sales in the same
time frame that currently exists making them realistic, give incentives if they need to be stretched,
employ feedback from sales persons so as to assign comfortable quotas around each

Caste Based Poitics in India
Is India a
Caste Democracy ?
Introduction: Caste based politics in India
Though the idea that caste is a part of a natural and moral order of things, that it is a hereditary quality
which once for all defines ones position and occupational affiliation and which is associated with a
particular law of conduct is rejected both by intellectuals and political leaders, caste is in Indian post
independence politics continually used and abused in different ways.
State politics in India has been particularly the hot bed of political casteism. Caste enters much more
directly into the composition of political elites at the state level. For example the mysore cabinet is
dominated by Lingayats and Vokkaliga, the Maharashtra Cabinet by Marathas, ... Show more content

Caste, once an instrument for the maintenance of hierarchy, is, paradoxically, seen as a vehicle for
egalitarianism between castes, though not within them. But which type of identity is politically salient
of course varies in a land as great, as stratified, and as pluralistic and heterogeneous as India over time
and territory. While caste identities and Hindu nationalism are now particularly salient in the north of
India, regional and linguistic identities are strong in Assam and the states of northeast, class identity
and membership serves as a basis for mobilization and political action in Kerala and West Bengal.
Not only is caste institutionalized in politics through the system of reservations, which guarantee seats
in government, access to educational institutions and employment in the administrative (which is a
way how to get into position of political power) for selected large segments of society, but caste based
organizations are also emerging within the framework of the civil society. The particular group rights
remain a source of conflict between those who support them and those who oppose them while the
forward castes oriented more towards the equality of opportunity than equality of outcome together
with Hindu nationalist, who perceive the reservations as

Office Apparel Research Paper
The combination of Women s fashion and proper office apparel offers a unique challenge to any
fashion designer; and the fashion trend for Spring 2009 is no exception. For Spring 2009 the fashion
industry offers fabrics that are sheer, soft and flowing and full of color. Platform heels are back as well
as cardigans. If you are looking to build your office wardrobe, here are five of the hottest trends for
Spring 2009 s appropriate office apparel. And the nice thing is, they can be bought at Walmart, or any
other store of your choice. 1. Use a scarf Since sheer is in, for Spring 2009, and you of course wouldn
t consider wearing a sheer blouse to work; wear a scarf. A soft scarf loosely tied about the neck, can

If you do much walking around in your office, or a lot of standing, you might be more comfortable in
flat Mary Jane s. These shoes are quite stylish, and very feminine. 3. Handbag/purse A lady s handbag
or purse should be of the same color and texture as her shoes. It adds a touch of professionalism, and a
sense of being well put together when shoes and purse or handbag match. 4. Cardigans Spring 2009
has cardigans back with a vengeance, and this year they have ¾ sleeves. They are accented with large
buttons. They can be worn buttoned up (not the top button) as a top, or they can be worn opened, with
a matching camisole, depending on your attire for the day. 5. Pants Fabric choices for Spring 2009 are
soft and flowing, and that goes for slacks as well. A nice cotton blend is a good choice, and will be
comfortable when the days get warmer. If your boss or supervisor doesn t mind, cropped pants are
very stylish this spring, and look very nice and professional. I have listed here a couple of websites
that I have found to be very helpful in helping women put these fabrics and accessories together, and
making a nice office appropriate attire. http://fashion about.com/od/whattowear/a/weartowork.htm,

Tax Exempt Status Of Credit Unions
Tax exempt status of credit unions is at risk!
COLLAPSE
Credit unions have been a staple in the United States since 1909 and were instituted to provide
affordable credit to working class families. They are member owned, not for profit, and report to a
volunteer board of directors. Credit unions are federal income tax exempt and have been since 1934
when the Federal Credit Union Act granted the status due to being a cooperative that operates by and
for the members. There are Over 96 Million hard working Americans that choose to bank with credit

The National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU) commissioned a study to examine what
would happen to the U.S. economy if the presence of credit unions was reduced significantly as a
result of eliminating the credit union tax exemption. The authors of the study are Robert Feinberg,
Ph.D., Professor of Economics at American University; and Douglas Meade, Ph.D., Director of
Research at Interindustry Economic Research Fund, Inc. Previous studies had demonstrated that
changes to the credit union tax status in Canada and Australia led to a severe reduction in credit union
presence. The resulting reduced competition for consumer financial services led to higher interest rates
on consumer loans and lower interest rates on deposits for consumers in those countries. The results of
the 2014 study indicate that similar impacts on consumers would be seen here in the United States
should the credit union tax exemption be eliminated. Some of the key findings are Removing the
credit union tax exemption would actually cost the federal government $15 billion in lost income tax
revenue over the next 10 years. Gross Domestic Product would be reduced by $148 billion, and 1.5
million jobs would be lost over the next decade as well. The total benefit to U.S. consumers from the
presence of credit unions in financial markets was $153 billion over the nine year period of the study,
or $17 billion per year. (NAFCU 1) Taxing credit unions only results in costing the

Education And Education In Jane Austen s Emma
The 18th to 19th century was a revolutionary time period for women. Jane Austen s Emma was
published during a time where women were campaigning for women s suffrage and for female
education. Emma is a book about a girl that vows not to fall in love, but plays matchmaker for her
friend and acquaintances. The book shows readers what 18th century England looked like for women.
Upper class women were allowed to get an education; however, the education they were taught was
vastly different than men s education. Women learned how to weave and learn French while men
learned about government, culture, philosophy from around the world, etc. However, Emma also
introduces revolutionary concepts like education for women and the radical ideas Mary Wollstonecraft
s A Vindication of Women s Right demonstrated. The beginning of the book summarizes life in
England for women during the 18th century. Women had little opportunity to develop a respectable
position in society because of their lack of intellectual proficiency. This was because of the sexualized
education present during 18th century England. The only way women could move through social
hierarchy was through marriage. An important theme of Emma is marriage and status. In the text,
Volume 1, Chapter 4, Emma states, The yeomanry are precisely the order of people with whom I feel I
can have nothing to do. A degree or two lower, and a creditable appearance might interest me; I might

Like most Orange Bloods, I fondly remember my first encounter with the Texas Cowboys

Political Governance in Post genocide Rwanda
Summary:
Rawanda is a country full of paradoxes, difficult for outsiders to understand what is really going on
there. While hearing Rwanda the first thing came into many people s mind is Genocide, massacre,
poverty, corruption, and violence. Post genocide Rawanda have been receiving considerable amount
of funds from international community despite being a dictatorship along with miserable human rights

with its political governance. Due to dictatorship there is little attention on vast majority and day by
day people are getting poorer and less aware of their rights. Current regime is having full control over
people and space. According to a research by commonwealth human Rights initiative Rwanda is an

and crimes against humanity which have become a source of instability in the region. In order to
understand the core problems existing in Rawanda and how international community is tolerating it by
giving them funds without bringing any change on the political governance of Rwanda, this paper
describes the regime s practices. Thus, this paper will analyze the ways in which it dealt with external

Big Data Management (BDM) is the governance and management of huge volumes of all types of

against one another (book p. A 70). Hearst used the color yellow to print his comics mixing facts with
sensationalizing accounts of crime and political corruption with aggressive appeals to patriot
sentiments (book p. 667). Pulitzer and Hearst send reporters to Cuba. They sent back reports of
Spanish cruelty some of which are factual and some that were not. These stories begin to rile the

The Filipinos had been fighting the Spanish prior to the arrival of the U.S. Aguinaldo knew he needed
a major power to help him with his struggle. Aguinaldo met with Dewey in Hong Kong and sailed
with him to the Philippines. After Dewey s naval victory in the Manila Bay, Aguinaldo believed he
could begin Filipino independence so he formed his government based on the U.S. Constitution.
However, the U. S. turned against him when they annexed the island nation. McKinley justified his
position saying it would take them 100 years to understand what true freedom means (book, p.672). At
the time of the insurrection, America was becoming aware of the atrocities committed by American
troops such as the burning of villages, torture of POW s, and rape and execution of civilians (book,
p.677). Aguinaldo was not treated fairly at all. If the U.S. was not so short sighted, he could have
founded his government. We could have had a stronger ally during WWII. We were lucky the
Japanese were more brutal than we were. However, in our defense, we did our best to Americanize the
island nation by modernizing their infrastructure, education and medical treatment systems (book, p.
672). Why was this war so little remembered by the American people? I believe this had a lot to do
with Douglas McArthur. He loved the Filipino people and it about killed him to leave them to the
Japanese. He vowed to return and return he did. He along with his Filipino guerillas defeated the
Japanese. After winning WWII, the Philippines were granted their independence. I believe this is why

Stereotypes In Hollywood Movies
The first point Berg is trying to make in this chapter is where exactly stereotypes root from, he talks
about this in the the cultural and narrative dynamics of Hollywood cinema where he goes in depth of
why stereotypes were essentially created. Berg explains that the goal driven hero has the qualities of
white, handsome, middle aged, upper middle class, heterosexual, Protestant, Anglo Saxon male , so
with that specific image in mind the WASP wants to be painted with as much hierarchy as possible so
any other roles need to be lesser than the WASP. This is when stereotypes come into play because
roles such as villains, sidekicks, and temptresses are there to function to make the WASP main
character be painted in a much better light. There ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hollywood doesn t like people who go against the grain and aren t the status quo, that is why
Hollywood still tries to ingrain the ideal of WASP so people will be willing to claw their way to have
this luxurious life, as Hollywood paints it. The second point is that he explains in depth the six most
commonly seen Latino stereotypes in Hollywood films, and how horribly they paint the Latino
community. The six stereotypes that are mentioned are El Bandido, The Harlot, The Male Buffoon,
The Female Clown, The Latin Lover and The Dark Lady. The El Bandido is a stereotype that was
portrayed in western films to make the character look gross by their sleazy appearance and less
intelligent by either speaking broken English or English with a very heavy accent. This stereotype is
still prevalent today in the contemporary Hollywood industry by taking on the role of either a
gangster/drug runner or an inner city gang member, but still on the surface the have the violent
dangerous tendencies of the bandidio. The Harlot is a female character that is essentially a sex
machine innately lusting for a white male , she is simply just a commodity to

Using The Group Membership Method Resemble Those Found By...
Results in the present study produced using the group membership method resemble those found by
Lusseau et al. (2003) in which the Doubtful Sound population could be divided into three sub groups.
The composition of groups however is somewhat different. This is in part due to different individuals
being present / alive during their study than in the current study. Where all individuals present in both
studies are placed across all three defined groups in Lusseau et al. s (2003) study, all but Kringel fall
into the same single group in the present study. This suggests that, while the overall sub group
structure may have been maintained over time, there is a degree of fluidity among members of sub
groups. This is the very nature of a fission fusion society, where group composition is dynamic over
time (Grellier et al. 2003). The three sub groups may be an apparently permanent feature of the
population when using the group membership method, with the fission fusion nature of bottlenose
dolphins defining the composition of each group through time. It must be noted however that Lusseau
et al. s (2003) study was over a period of seven years, where 546 days were spent on the water. Due to
the immense differences in field effort, direct comparisons are made with caution. Previous pilot
work, which spanned only 6 days, also yielded similar results using the group membership method.
The seven sub groups defined for the whole population using indices from the time based method

Juvenile Offenders Research Paper
Treatment of Juvenile Offenders Semba Roberts Argosy University, Inland Empire Etiology The
Strain theory, reflecting Johnson s (1979) description, was developed to interpret the truth that
juvenile criminal behavior and grown up misconduct are highly prevalent with lower class individuals
or working people with least money. In the same way, Cloward and Ohlin (1960) revealed this similar
assumption of larger working class digression, and stretched the investigation to cover occasions for
numerous types of unlawful actions as an additional vital change in defining exact criminal reactions.

Minnesota Micromotors, Inc. Marketing Simulation 2015 Q2 Kaplan University Marketing
Management MT450 01 Minnesota Micromotors, Inc. Marketing Simulation 2015 Q2 As I get further
and further along in this simulation, I have noticed that I am beginning to understand what it takes as a
marketing manager in order to be successful. Careful considerations must be made to be sure that the
right decisions benefit both Minnesota Micromotors, Inc., and our customers. Our success comes from
our customers success and loyalty that they have with this company. In finding ways to incorporate the

I don t think that I need to have an extensive sales force in order to be successful. I think the biggest
decision that I made in 2015 Q2 was increasing the large customer discounts for segments B and D
from 12% discount up to 14% discount. I noticed that last quarter both of these segments expressed
their concern that they were not getting the additional discounts that they should for being such long
time customers. The results of my decisions that were made in 2015 Q2 turned out to be better than
last quarter results. Existing customers increased by 9% and sales from new customers increased by
6%, while the distributors, on average, are attempting to achieve a 5% profit margin; overall not a bad
turnover from prior quarters. These decisions led to segment A as being very satisfied reflecting how
the motors high power to size ratio allowed them to pick up some new business from some loyal
customers. Segment B was satisfied in this quarter like they have been in previous quarters, however
they expressed their concern on future orders that they would like to receive more insight into the
market trends by our staff. Segment C increased their overall satisfaction from prior quarters of being
satisfied to very satisfied in this quarter. By getting the motors that they ordered to them in a rush,
allowed them to land a contract from another GPO. However as the saying goes, you can t win them

Using Imagination to Cope with Suffering in Life of Pi Essay
Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and
understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and
understand. Albert Einstein The power of imagination can be described as invincible. With the use of
imagination, one can reach undefined triumphs and create a new powerful world. In the book, Life of
Pi, by Yann Martel, a blooming young boy named Pi Patel begins to develop a wondrous mind that
expands his knowledge, true meaning of independence and value of life. His imagination is what
allows him to cope and get through his suffering. The role of his imagination and stories are extremely

Pi feels it is okay to practice all three religions because they all have one goal or purpose which is the
belief in God. Since each story he has heard is different, it does not take away from the main moral.
This ties in with the imagination aspect because no matter how a story is told, the end result is the
same. An example of this is when he is confronted and surrounded by the Priest, Pandit, and Imam.
His response as to why he was practicing Hindu, Christian and Muslim faiths was, Bapu Gandhi said,
All religions are true. I just want to love God. (Page 76) Believing in all three religions is something
Pi feels is important to him because he is just trying to love and pray to God in as many ways as
possible. Although the stories are interesting, it doesn t really matter how you got to the ending if the
purpose of the story is the equal. The important of Pi s imagination is triggered by this and has later
gone into great effect. The religions he practices represent hat behind every reason, everyone has their
own way of saying it, whether it be fiction or non fiction. In human and animal nature, many
similarities are portrayed in Life of Pi as well as a strong relation between the two. In contrast,
humans and animals share the same sort of lifestyle, just living a different life according to Pi s
thoughts. In a tragic situation that one is in, such as Pi they must find a way to pass time and keep
themselves busy by using their circumstances,

Why School By Mike Rose Analysis
Beyond the Classroom Many are quick to disregard education s role outside of the classroom.
According to Mike Rose, a good education helps us make sense of the world and find our way in it
(Rose 33). Rose emphasizes the value in the experience of education beyond the value of education
for the purpose of custom or intelligence; he explores the purpose of going to school in terms of how
he defines himself and his personal growth in the stages of his academic career. By reflecting on his
personal experiences and how those gave him the tools applicable to his daily life, he emphasizes why
education should never be overlooked. Rose s use of referencing relatable experiences in a logical
manner makes his argument persuasive to the readers and he succeeds in making the readers
reconsider why education matters to them. Mike Rose s Why School?: Reclaiming Education for All
of Us effectively persuades his audience of the importance of education beyond the classroom, which
proves true in our everyday lives because the essential aspect of education is what we do with it and
how it helps develop one s personal growth. Rose elaborates on the significance of education by
reflecting on his own perspective on how that shaped his identity. His childhood gave him the
opportunity to experience the contrast between a positive learning environment and a negative one.
This also shaped him to have an evident positive outlook on education. It can be assumed that the right

The Portrayal Of A Female Character
From helpless damsel in distresses to powerful superheroines, female characters in comics have sure
made it a long way. They have gone from underdeveloped supporting characters, such as the love
interest or sidekick to someone who owns the spotlight with their combat skills and superpowers. This
shift in portrayal is being acknowledged and praised by many comic book readers who have been
hoping for a very long time that females will one day become more realistically portrayed. However,
despite this, there are still a select few who choose to shift the focus away from the impact
superheroines are having and instead focus on their flaws and what they still consider to be wrong
with their portrayal. The main flaw being their appearance, specifically their unrealistic body types,
readers and nonreaders of comics each have their own opinion on how a female character should be
portrayed and they aren t afraid to fight for it. Jill Lepore, a Harvard professor and staff writer at The
New Yorker, shares her opinions on the new Marvel comic entitled A Force in her controversial article
published in The New Yorker. The article is renowned for calling out female superheroes on looking
like porn stars while highlighting the fact that majority of them have large breasts and slim waists.
One notable description is that of Sister Grimm as Lepore describes her as a goth girl [with] fishnet
stockings [and a] purple and black bustier (para 5). It is easy to agree with Lepore s statement

I have taken the 16 Personalities test about five or six times. Usually, I get a different personalities

some clarity about myself. Since I get a different personality every time, I just become more confused
every time I take it. I have come to the conclusion that I am either schizophrenic and have five
different personalities, or I am too unconventional to be assessed by this test. I am pretty confident
that I am not schizophrenic, so I guess that I am just too weird to be understood through some test.
When I read the profiles of each of the personalities, I see pieces of myself in each one. The ESTJ

Key Facts Surrounding The Murder Case Of Jonbenet Ramsey
Case Summary:
Key Facts.
There are some key facts that are surrounding the murder case of JonBenet Ramsey, who was 7 years
old at the time she was murdered. She was found murdered between the 25th and the 26th day of
December 1996. The body of JonBenet had both lethal head injuries as well as blood located in the
crotch area as well as in her crotch area of her underwear. The DNA sample had indicated that she was
sexually assaulted by a male assailant. The testing consisted of methodology including modern
advances in science. The police department profiled anyone who had any dealings with the family.
The Boulder, Colorado police used new methods in trying to gather new evidence in JonBenet s
murder, but to no avail. The District Attorney s office of Boulder does not suspect John Ramsey, nor

could even have time to be paid out. The ransom request was the same, identical amount, to the exact
penny, of the father, John Ramsey s bonus from his job, which is highly unusual, even for a
coincidence. JonBenet was found dead in the basement. How could anyone enter their basement
without breaking in? There was no sign of forced entry from either the house or the basement. The
father discovered her body was already deceased, especially with the amount of blood at the scene,
then, why did he tamper with evidence by removing her body, which is against the law? Why was he
not charged with obstruction of justice for removing her body from the murder scene? The DNA that

Example Of Observation Of Basketball
For my second observation I went back to my elementary school from when I was younger and
observed a second grade physical education class and their teacher Mrs. McFarland. It was a rainy day
so the lesson was held in the cafeteria. I observed Mrs. McFarland teach the first lesson of basketball
to her class, before class she told me that this would be the first lesson of a 6 part lesson. When the
students walked into the cafeteria they immediately sat down in their assigned spots on the floor, Mrs.
McFarland stood up at the front of the room by the stage area and all the students. When all the
students were seated Mrs. McFarland gave a very brief explanation on what the students would be
doing that day and then they started with a warm up. During the warm up the students started out
galloping around the room to music and when the music stop she would shout of jumping jacks and
the students would do jumping jacks until the music came back on. They did this warm up for about 5
minutes and then went back to their spots and sat down. Mrs. McFarland went back to the front of the
cafeteria and began to talk to the students about what they would be doing. She gave a demonstration
of the triple threat position and then asked the students some questions about what they saw her just
do. Next, she had the children grab their our balls and come back to their spot so that they could
practice some ball handling drills. They used their finger tips to ping pong the ball from hand to hand,

Forecasting Power Of Statistical Data Analytics Essay
I. PROJECT OVERVIEW
Throughout the semester, we have learned different aspects of Big Data analytics and their
practicalities. Forecasting and prediction are another important parts of data analytics. Advanced
forecasting analytics is playing a vital role in the age of Big Data, such as predicting crime activities,
weather changes, electric power generations, or personalizing marketing campaigns.
The purpose of this report is to demonstrate the forecasting power of statistical data analytics. We will
use a time series dataset to conduct the forecasting, since this type of datasets contain a set of
observations generated sequentially in time. Organizations of all types and sizes utilize time series
datasets for analysis and forecasting for predicting next year s sales figures, raw material demand,
monthly airline bookings, etc. A time series model is useful to obtain an understanding of the
underlying forces and structure that produced the data.
The rest of this paper is organized as follow: section II presents the analysis of the data with
regression analysis and Tableau based visualization. Section III presents the conclusions and
implications of the data.
II. DATAANALYSIS
The data used to conduct this analysis referred to a monthly sales and advertising expenditures of a
dietary weight control product. This data was provided by DataMarket.com. The data includes sales
and advertising expenditures of 36 consecutive months, from January 1st, 2011 to December 3rd,

Food Hazards in India on Milk Adulterated Essay
The Apex court Thursday urged the state governments to make necessary amendments to their laws to
make production and marketing of adulterated milk, an offense punishable with life imprisonment.
The court was hearing a Public Interest Litigation or PIL.
The ruling came in the backdrop of samples of milk collected randomly by the Food Safety and
Standards Authority of India in 2011 revealed the large scale sale of adulterated milk across the
country.

Many showroom owners buys this very paneer from us and sells at a handsome rate of 200 300 per kg
.
Surprisingly another vendor appeared from somewhere, put a piece of paneer at my palm and asked
Sir, do you need it for the marriage party ? He offered me an unbelievable price of Rs 60 per kg. The
only condition was that it was a price should I buy the whole bulk he had, approximately 20
kilograms. It was shocking. When the rate of milk is Rs. 40 per liter how is it possible to sell paneer at
this rate. Obviously the product wasn t paneer, it was a cheap look alike. But it sparked the
inquisitiveness which leads me to go ahead.
Furthermore, as I step deep inside the milk market the scene went aghast. Something like milk was
being boiled in dozens of containers using a locally made burner amid heaps of garbage all around.
People were urinating very near to this site. It was disgusting. I could not help taking snaps quietly. It
was the area of the market which the milkmen uses and not for paneer vendors. Better to say it was the
producing unit of paneer.
More or less, this very paneer is being supplied to most of the eating joint, eateries and even big hotels
in Patna.
But all we need to remember are just two things. First, a kilogram of paneer needs 5 liters of milk to
process. And the most trusted packed milk (Sudha) available in Patna is Rs 40/liter.

The birth of these extremists lies in the economic policies of the United States and the middle east. The Shah, who was the supreme leader of the nation of Iran, was an ally of the United States for several decades. Despite his support from the U.S. government, he was known as a brutal leader who used excessive force and torture of his people, mostly Iranian students who spoke out against him. After decades of death, torture, abuse and other heinous crimes against humanity, the people of Iran began supporting Ayatollah Khomeini, a fundamentalist. To force events to transpire quicker, students took action by attacking the United States embassy and capturing hostages. These protestors saw the embassy as a physical representation of support for the Shah and his oppressive and cruel regime. Many Iranian began to echo the thoughts of the exiled Khomeini, who preached that that reliance on the U.S. or any other foreign nation was devastating Iran. He pointed to the benefits the British and the Americans were getting from Iranian oil while thousands of people were dying because of the Shah. For several decades the U.S. would support the Shah s economic development and regional leadership plans. These plans would be paid for fully by exporting the country s enormous oil wealth. The Shah would use also billions of dollars from the exporting of his oil reserves to purchase modern and more deadly weapons developed within the United States. To this end, two of the leading newspapers in the United States and Iran, The New York Times and Tehran Times, have been chosen. Based on the qualitative and quantitative analysis of textual features and marked and unmarked themes of 12 opinion articles (6 from each newspaper), this study aims to find out how these two groups of professional writers organize their themes, into marked and unmarked ones and what effects these organizations have on the audiences. The findings revealed that textual features were present in both sets of data. The occurrences of marked and unmarked themes were not significantly different. Defending Beef By Niman Summary In Defence of livestock Although many researchers believe that our planet s environment and ecosystems are facing many challenges due to livestock production, proponents of livestock production believe that the reason why the our environmental condition has worsened is not that we eat more meat but because we eat less of it. Niman argues that instead of decreasing production, we should focus on producing meat that is more environmentally sound. She also argues that Feed production with all its attendant problems of fossil fuel consumption, soil erosion, greenhouse gases, and chemical pollution can be avoided altogether (Niman, 79). There are many different practises and methods available for livestock production, and ultimately it is the choices that farmers make that determines the production s level of sustainability. The practices of industrial large scale operations like CAFOs result in both environmental damage as well as health concerns for humans and animals. Depletion, pollution and contamination are the biggest obstacles we face when trying to move toward a more sustainable planet. But when livestock is handled responsibly, with consideration for the environment and potential consequences, it is indeed possible to produce livestock that is beneficial for our planet. Organic and grass based farming systems such as silvopastoral systems have been proven to increase biodiversity, reverse soil erosion and counteract water depletion. By encouraging farmers to move towards more sustainable methods like these, we can help curb today s more urgent issues regarding our environment. While there are disagreements between researchers on how to do this, they all agree that we have to take some kind of action to save our planet. Possible ways to achieve this include not consuming meat, or buying meat from local, organic and grass based farmers to ensure the livestock was raised in a responsible way. • 6. Colorism And Racism Racism is prominent in the United States. Growing up in my small, predominately white town I did not recognize it. I had difficulty comprehending what racism is. As I have grown and developed my understanding of the many identities I hold, I have come to realize racism is the systematic oppression of people of color rooted in discrimination through the historical power, privilege given to the dominate identity. With this definition of racism, I can recall many occurrences in my childhood where I faced both direct and indirect racism. For me a prominent and constant sense of racism comes from the beauty industry regarding colorism. Colorism is the discrimination based on skin color. The dominate color or White is considered more desirable and better than darker colors. For me, colorism came from both folks of my own race and those of the dominate identity. Being raised within the South Asian community I encountered a strong sense of colorism through beauty standards. Lighter skin tone was considered better than darker skin tone. This is evident through the large skin whitening industry within South Asian community. Colorism extremely influenced me. I saw all my favorite Bollywood actresses having light complexions. I watched ads for skin whitening products showing lighter skin tone being related to confidence, attractiveness, and happiness. I didn t admittedly talk about how lighter skin was better; I was just extremely grateful for my lighter complexion in comparison to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Alcatraz served an important purpose in taking the strain off the older and greatly overcrowded institutions... since it enabled us to move the smaller, closely guarded escape artists, the big time racketeers... and those who needed protection from other groups... Now that you know the kind of prisoners that were sent to Alcatraz, II. I will discuss life on the island and as an inmate in the prison. A. Each prisoner received a copy of the Rules and Regulations for the Government... Correctional Institutions as well as a copy of the warden s special rules that explained the daily routine of work and counts. The inmates were awakened at 6:30am to begin their day. They were required to clean up themselves and their cell and required to shave three times a week. B. Alcatraz was to be operated on the principle of very limited privileges to inmates. The privilege of visitors had to be earned, and mail privileges were limited. They each held jobs within the prison in the tailor shop, laundry, cobblers shop, model shop, gardening, or help with the food prep in the mess hall. C. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With regards to continuous restructuring of the company. This issue is a big factor that even stimulates the first problem. With the re evaluation of the organizational structure the employees tend to lose confidence and trust in those in charge and therefore their performance is hindered because of this. Concerning the hiring skills of the company it is very inefficient such as recruiting college kids, newspaper advertisements, employment agencies and job notices on job search websites. These hiring skills are very costly and time consuming. The high expectations of management to meet high quotas is unreasonable and thus puts pressure on the salesmen causing them to perform unethical actions such as posting incorrect sales figures just to please their managers. Options that can assist the firm in these issues are by management evaluating the company and making a consistent and permanent organizational structure. To make the hiring process more efficient it needs to be shorter in length, be specific in the characteristics of the potential employee to avoid the many steps and narrow the amount of hiring methods to reduce costs. Not stretching quotas is another factor that needs to be considered by management. This can be done through lowering their expectations of sales in the same time frame that currently exists making them realistic, give incentives if they need to be stretched, employ feedback from sales persons so as to assign comfortable quotas around each ... Introduction: Caste based politics in India Though the idea that caste is a part of a natural and moral order of things, that it is a hereditary quality which once for all defines ones position and occupational affiliation and which is associated with a particular law of conduct is rejected both by intellectuals and political leaders, caste is in Indian post independence politics continually used and abused in different ways. While caste identities and Hindu nationalism are now particularly salient in the north of India, regional and linguistic identities are strong in Assam and the states of northeast, class identity and membership serves as a basis for mobilization and political action in Kerala and West Bengal. Not only is caste institutionalized in politics through the system of reservations, which guarantee seats in government, access to educational institutions and employment in the administrative (which is a way how to get into position of political power) for selected large segments of society, but caste based organizations are also emerging within the framework of the civil society. • 11. Tax Exempt Status Of Credit Unions Tax exempt status of credit unions is at risk! COLLAPSE Credit unions have been a staple in the United States since 1909 and were instituted to provide affordable credit to working class families. They are member owned, not for profit, and report to a volunteer board of directors. Credit unions are federal income tax exempt and have been since 1934 when the Federal Credit Union Act granted the status due to being a cooperative that operates by and for the members. There are Over 96 Million hard working Americans that choose to bank with credit unions over the larger banks. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The National Association of Federal Credit Unions (NAFCU) commissioned a study to examine what would happen to the U.S. economy if the presence of credit unions was reduced significantly as a result of eliminating the credit union tax exemption. The authors of the study are Robert Feinberg, Ph.D., Professor of Economics at American University; and Douglas Meade, Ph.D., Director of Research at Interindustry Economic Research Fund, Inc. Previous studies had demonstrated that changes to the credit union tax status in Canada and Australia led to a severe reduction in credit union presence. The resulting reduced competition for consumer financial services led to higher interest rates on consumer loans and lower interest rates on deposits for consumers in those countries. The results of the 2014 study indicate that similar impacts on consumers would be seen here in the United States should the credit union tax exemption be eliminated. Some of the key findings are Removing the credit union tax exemption would actually cost the federal government $15 billion in lost income tax revenue over the next 10 years. Gross Domestic Product would be reduced by $148 billion, and 1.5 million jobs would be lost over the next decade as well. The total benefit to U.S. consumers from the presence of credit unions in financial markets was $153 billion over the nine year period of the study, or $17 billion per year. • 12. Education And Education In Jane Austen s Emma The 18th to 19th century was a revolutionary time period for women. Jane Austen s Emma was published during a time where women were campaigning for women s suffrage and for female education. Emma is a book about a girl that vows not to fall in love, but plays matchmaker for her friend and acquaintances. The book shows readers what 18th century England looked like for women. Upper class women were allowed to get an education; however, the education they were taught was vastly different than men s education. Women learned how to weave and learn French while men learned about government, culture, philosophy from around the world, etc. However, Emma also introduces revolutionary concepts like education for women and the radical ideas Mary Wollstonecraft s A Vindication of Women s Right demonstrated. The beginning of the book summarizes life in England for women during the 18th century. Women had little opportunity to develop a respectable position in society because of their lack of intellectual proficiency. This was because of the sexualized education present during 18th century England. The only way women could move through social hierarchy was through marriage. An important theme of Emma is marriage and status. In the text, Volume 1, Chapter 4, Emma states, The yeomanry are precisely the order of people with whom I feel I can have nothing to do. A degree or two lower, and a creditable appearance might interest me; I might hope to be useful to their families in some way or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

At the time of the insurrection, America was becoming aware of the atrocities committed by American troops such as the burning of villages, torture of POW s, and rape and execution of civilians (book, p.677). Aguinaldo was not treated fairly at all. If the U.S. was not so short sighted, he could have founded his government. We could have had a stronger ally during WWII. We were lucky the Japanese were more brutal than we were. However, in our defense, we did our best to Americanize the island nation by modernizing their infrastructure, education and medical treatment systems (book, p. 672). Why was this war so little remembered by the American people? I believe this had a lot to do with Douglas McArthur. He loved the Filipino people and it about killed him to leave them to the Japanese. Berg explains that the goal driven hero has the qualities of white, handsome, middle aged, upper middle class, heterosexual, Protestant, Anglo Saxon male , so with that specific image in mind the WASP wants to be painted with as much hierarchy as possible so any other roles need to be lesser than the WASP. (2003) in which the Doubtful Sound population could be divided into three sub groups. The composition of groups however is somewhat different. This is in part due to different individuals being present / alive during their study than in the current study. Where all individuals present in both studies are placed across all three defined groups in Lusseau et al. s (2003) study, all but Kringel fall into the same single group in the present study. This suggests that, while the overall sub group structure may have been maintained over time, there is a degree of fluidity among members of sub groups. This is the very nature of a fission fusion society, where group composition is dynamic over time (Grellier et al. 2003). The three sub groups may be an apparently permanent feature of the population when using the group membership method, with the fission fusion nature of bottlenose dolphins defining the composition of each group through time. It must be noted however that Lusseau et al. s (2003) study was over a period of seven years, where 546 days were spent on the water. Due to the immense differences in field effort, direct comparisons are made with caution. Previous pilot work, which spanned only 6 days, also yielded similar results using the group membership method. This shift in portrayal is being acknowledged and praised by many comic book readers who have been hoping for a very long time that females will one day become more realistically portrayed.
