Economic Development Strategy For The City Of Sydney
Basic Summary
Sydney is Australia s worldwide city, and the main learning based economy in the country. More than
$100 billion for each annum is produced in Sydney. That is more than half of what the whole mining
part creates, and double the span of the horticultural division at the farm gate.
In the course of the most recent five years our city economy has demonstrated its flexibility by
withstanding the worldwide financial recession. About 2000 organisations were added to the city since
2007. Major urban restoration ventures over the City of Sydney are giving occupations and lodging.
Green Square, Australia s biggest urban redevelopment task, is only 3.5kms from the downtown area.
The $8 billion redevelopment will give homes to 11,000 new inhabitants and 22,000 new labourers.
Economic Development Strategy for the City
The City of Sydney s 10 year Economic Development Strategy will help convey a realistic vision for a
significantly more dynamic, earth feasible economy, and a liveable city that works for inhabitants,
labourers, guests and understudies. Activity arrangements will bolster our current monetary qualities,
for example, the fund, tourism and retail areas; and develop new, rising parts, for example, the evening
time economy and green economy divisions. We are as of now putting $1.9 billion in a 10 year
framework project including Light Rail and the change of George Street; diminishing administrative
obstructions to energise business; and reactivating places,

Gorham Family Structure
Hello everyone, I live in Gorham Maine. The maps indicate that ACS 2013 in Gorham, has a total of
2,156 households with 1,176 of those to be married couples. Of those 539 households with married
couples have one or more children living at home under the age of 18 (Social Explorer, 2013). My
family household is myself, my husband of 23 years, and our 15 year old daughter. We have a 21 year
old daughter who lives on her own currently in Colorado. I think the changes in family has to do with
how families have changed to now recognize families of same sex couples. This is a huge leap from
the 1950 s model of a nuclear family of husband, wife, and their children (New York University
Department of Sociology, 2013). Society as a

Fitness Satire
Fitness is one of the most growing industries in the world. We see it everywhere at the stores, on our
televisions, and all around us. We were taught in school that we need to stay fit and healthy or we
would become fat and obese. Fitness is so big now because of our recent problems with obesity. The
problem with trying to stay fit is it takes and a lot of people do not have time, so companies make
workouts that take less than an hour. You look at these people and they are fit there are not heavy
people, everybody get results. The sad thing is they were fit from something else and a company just
told them to be in this video and we will pay you. The bad thing about the fitness is there are a lot of
people that are dishonest and lie about how they got their body. The fitness ... Show more content on

You wonder why am I not making any gains, I have gained some muscle but not like these other
people at the gym. Son of a bitch you start to get mad and wonder if you are lifting right, and eating
right. You finally learn the bitter truth, these people have been lying to you. These people say if you
eat right and do this program you will become ripped just like me. The only way you can be as ripped
as them is if you put a foreign object in your body. These people are druggies they use steroids, the
most common one is trembolone which is designed for farm animals. It hurts that they do this and lie
to you. The real crap is that they say that they are all natural. The one person that lights my flame is a
bodybuilder named Simeon Panada. This guy is six foot two; weight 235 pounds, has a waist of 34
and a 57 inch chest. He says that he is all natural and that people who question me don t know how
hard I have worked. Really man you say you are natural well let s compare him to a well known
steroid user the terminator Arnold Schwarzenegger. In Arnolds prime he was 6 feet 2 inches; weight

My Second Home Essay
My Second Home
The wind blowing in my hair, the water softly mists my face. There is a persistent humming in my ear
from the motor. I turn and gaze over the railing, there are islands scattered in the distance including
one, my final destination, the largest island in sight. The mysterious water curls against the edge of the
boat, foamy and disturbed by the passing boat. My fingers drum consistently on the railing, repeating
a rhythmic beat. I find myself pacing the deck, back and forth, always returning to the same location,
facing the island. As the ferry boat approaches the dock, I become overwhelmed with the anticipation
of the fun that, I know, is awaiting me on this island.

I begin weaving my way through the crowd; I can feel the warm skin of strangers brush against me.
As the crowds separate I see the welcoming faces of my Aunt Sharon and Uncle Bill. I run to give
them an embracing hug. My cousin, Levi, steps out from behind his dad and I notice his wide eyes
containing a sparkle as the excitement builds inside. My parents catch up with me and more greetings
are in order. We retreat to the golf cart, which most of the tourists use, along with bicycles, to get
around. After a short drive, we reach the house. It is a tall, white house with large windows facing the
water front. The character of this old house fills my imagination with stories of an old captain living
there. I am pleased to see the rest of my family playing croquet and socializing in the lawn. With the
awareness of our presence, they happily turn and wave.
After saying hello, my cousin and I decide to slip off to the personal beach of the bed and breakfast
that we will be staying at for the next four days. The wooden steps creak as we stomp down them.
They lead us into the special place hidden away in overgrown vines, which brush across me as I
charge toward the water. We spend hours in the cool water splashing, playing and catching up on all of
the excitement that we have missed in the last year. The cool water washes smoothly over my face and
I pinch the finely granulated sand between my toes. As I swim the seaweed reaches up from the
bottom to tickle my toes and feet.

Breast Self Examination
In regards to breast cancer, there is no emergent management. The diagnosis of breast cancer is
usually found by clinical breast exam or radiologic evaluation. If a patient presents to the emergency
room with a breast lump, they will likely be discharged with instructions to follow up with their
primary care provider.

Breastfeeding has been shown to exert a protective effect on females. In multiple case control and
cohort studies, the difference in the two groups at hand in relation to breast cancer risk were the length
at which they breastfed (Chen, 2013). In another meta analysis, it was shown that duration of maternal
nursing correlates with substantial risk reduction independent of either parity or age at first full term
pregnancy (Lippman, 2012).
Physical activity. Increased physical activity has many benefits to the average human, however, for
women it is postulated to reduce breast cancer risk. Although the exact mechanism is unknown, it is
thought to do so through hormonal influences, such as reducing serum estrogens, insulin, and insulin
growth factor 1 levels (Chen, 2013). In another recent review, it was estimated that risk of breast
cancer was reduced by 25 percent among physically active women compared with women who were
the least active (Lynch, 2011).

Robinson Crusoe Book Analysis
In Daniel Defoe s Robinson Crusoe, it tells the story of young man from the city York. The original
name of Robinson was Kreutznar but was called Crusoe instead because so many people would
butcher his name. Robinson was the third son for his father and mother. The first born son for
Robinson s father was in the military as Lt. Col and was killed in action near the famous battle at
Dunkirk. The second son of the family was more or less a disappointment, since neither Robinson or
his parents knew what happened to him. With Robinson coming from a family of decent wealth, it was
now on to him to do well for himself. It seems from an early age Robinson doesn t plan on going on
the path his father wanted him to. In the book, Robinson says not bred to any trade, my head began to
be fill d very early with rambling thoughts (Defoe 5). With all the education that his father was
providing him, he didn t have any interests in the direction that his father was steering him to which
was law. It seems Robinson wants to venture on his own path and prove that he can be successful on
his terms and not that of his father and mother. Robinson wanted to be out in the sea, but his parents
didn t want that for him and wouldn t give him permission to leave. Until, one day a friend of his was
leaving on a ship and a naïve Robinson against his parents wishes followed his friend. The journey
doesn t end up going well and gives Robinson a wakeup call that he should listen to his parents. In the

Creating Employment Opportunities in India
India is a large country with a large population. She is faced with an alarming situation of widespread
unemployment. A large number of people are unemployed both in the urban and rural areas.
Unemployment is a condition of involuntary or forced idleness, which on the one hand hinders
effective demand for agricultural and industrial products, and on the other paves the way for anti
social activities. It indicates a situation wherein all human resources which should have been geared to
maximise the natural production are not being utilised. Such a situation results in far reaching
consequences. It makes the measures to increase production and renders the rights of labour unsafe. It
is a criminal waste of pro¬ductive power. Though it is a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

voluntary, all the unemployed persons do not register themselves with the exchanges. The number of
registered persons stood at about 95 lakhs at the end of May 1976. This showed an increase of about
46 lakhs in the position that existed at the end of May 1970. Out of these the number of educated
unemployed was about 48 lakhs, which recorded an increase of about 25 lakhs in the position that
existed at the end of 1970. These figures do not show an exact level of unem¬ ployment. The number
of unemployed must be much more. The 1971 census indicated that the number of agricultural
labourers was 47 48 million and that of share croppers was 15 6 million, making a total of 63 08

the unemployment figure at 18 7 million
16 1 million in rural areas and 2 6 million in urban areas. According .to the National Sample Survey of
1975, one Indian out of every five is an utter destitute, one in every three is a destitute and nearly half
of the population of the country lives below the poverty line. It is estimated that at present roughly 23

The Importance Of Cultural Imperialism
The Kiowa are a Native American people who have been greatly impacted by cultural imperialism.
They were forced to adapt to western culture, and in this many of the Kiowa people were converted to
Christianity. Christianity is said to be a very important aspect of many Native American cultures still
today, but the way in which Christianity is portrayed and practiced in such societies, including that of
the Kiowa, stays true to both the religion itself and their Native practices. The Kiowa are said to have
kiowanized Christianity. The Kiowa version of Christianity is said to differ from the white man s way.
This means that they believe in God, integrate their culture and lifestyles into Christianity, and they
also relay the importance of their religion in a different manner. They use their native language in their
hymns, and these hymns are comprised primarily of those elements that pertain directly to Kiowa
culture. In the text Lassiter states, Kiowa hymns give life to a unique Kiowa experience, preserve the
language, and affirm and ongoing (and continually unfolding) Kiowa spirituality. This reveals the
effectiveness and importance of the integration of Christianity and native Kiowa practices. Language
has been a central focus of anthropological interest for many reasons. List three reasons and discuss
why they are important. Think about language in broad or general anthropological sense when
addressing this question. What are the connections among play, art,

Women In Christianity And Islam
Christianity and Islam both believe women are inferior to men. However, historically, women had
more rights in Islam than in Christianity. Both religions have similarities along with its differences in
how women were treated through the religion. Women had little to no rights by any means in both
religions, one a little harsher than the other. Christianity and Islam both believe women are inferior to
men. The reason for this is that many stories in the Christian Scripture as being less spiritual as men.
For example, Women are known to be crated in both Islam and Christianity from man and for man. By
this being said, in the book Genesis, Eve was the one who was deceived by the shake. Islam like

stay to be true, we can still say that women had more rights in Islam. This would not even be a thought
in Christianity. Many roles if not all were strictly only allowed to be filled by man. There was not even
a thought in anyone s mind that a women would be able to successfully complete a role in the work

The First Sermon Essay
Buddhist art, like most kinds of art, cannot be reduced to a specific set of visual characteristics.
However, within a certain time period and region, there are recurring details in many Buddhist works
of art. The First Sermon (2ndc 3rdc: Gandhara), which depicts Buddha delivering his first sermon, is
no exception to this fact. The design and visual characteristics of The First Sermon serve as clear
evidence that the work was created during the rule of the Kushan empire, specifically in Gandhara.
Additionally, those same characteristics suggest that the piece was most likely used for adornment of a
temple or other structure rather than for individual worship. The First Sermon shares many of the
same details seen in other Kushan era artworks that came out of Gandhara. The most notable aspect
that stands out is the work s heavy Greek influence. When speaking of Buddhist ... Show more content

The piece is originally part of a panel, which would likely include other scenes as part of a larger
story. Even inside the particular scene, the Buddha is not alone but instead is surrounded by other
figures, which further suggests that it was not meant for worship. As Behrendt and Brancaccio state in
their text, when the purpose is worship, the Buddha is usually presented as independent (Behrendt and
Brancaccio 19). Finally, the small size of the piece indicates that it was not intended for any sort of
adoration. With merely 32cm x 27cm in size, the work does not compare to larger and more detailed
works that could adequately be used for worship. In conclusion, The First Sermon helps as further
evidence and guidance towards fully understanding the history of Buddhist art. Although it does not
display any particularly unique features, the piece of art serves to strengthen concepts of South Asian
art as well as its uses in everyday

How Did Dorothea Dix Impact The World
What greater bliss than to look back on days spent in usefulness, in doing good to those around us
(Dorothea Dix Quotes). The same person that said this famous quote started the evolution to a better
path for the imprisoned and the mentally ill in the 1800 s. Dorothea Lynde Dix, a famous Civil War

imprisoned. She gave them better lives as well as taking a stand for women to be able to help the
wounded in the Civil War. Dorothea Dix impacted the world by changing perceptions on mentally ill
and prisoners. She gave them a fair chance to live a satisfying life by being a huge part of creating
dozens of new institutions across the United States and in Europe. Dorothea Dix started her change in
the world when she was younger by becoming a teacher. In 1821 Dix opened an academy for wealthy
young ladies in her grandmother s house, and conducted a free school for poor children. Her

How Did Geography Affect Where Colonists Settled Essay
Beginning in 1607, when ambitious English colonists settled in Jamestown, and continuing until the
last of the thirteen colonies was established; geography was a substantial factor in the development of
colonial America. The crops that essentially saved the colonists lives, such as tobacco, rice, and
indigo, wouldn t have grown without a certain type and amount of soil to grow properly. Also, the
Appalachian Mountains and the dense forests provided a barrier for the colonists, preventing them
from going too far west right away, and causing the colonies to form in the arrangement they did.
Finally, the population was the most dense in middle colonies, such as New York, New Jersey,
Delaware, and Pennsylvania partly because of the mild ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This, in turn, made it so that the population were more dense, and there was a higher concentration of
people. The dense forests of the eastern seaboard disallowed for large cities to be created right away.
This geological factor forced colonists to spread out within the perimeters of the Appalachian
Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean, without being too close together. Both of these factors could be
overlooked easily enough, but did have a reasonable impact of the development of colonial America.
Finally, the geography of the middle colonies, such as New York, New Jersey, Delaware, and
Pennsylvania played a big role on the development and population of this area. In the sixteen and
seventeen hundreds, the above colonies were the most populated of the thirteen establishments. There
was plentiful and fertile soil, in which tobacco was heavily grown. The Susquehanna River also
flowed through this region, opening the possibility of fur trade. Other minor rivers that were found in
the middle colonies were gentle, which provided for easy transportation and fishing. The land in the
middle colonies was broad and expansive, making it easy for even the middle class residents to create
an enjoyable and profitable lifestyle. In conclusion, there were many factors that contributed to the
development of the colonial America, but geography was clearly a sizable influence. If the geography
of America wasn t the way it was, the colonists who settled here may have not survived as

Batman Thesis Statement
Title Matt Morris claims that the story of Batman is a great cautionary tale concerning the price we
risk paying if we are unable to keep things in balance . He warns that we should take Batman s lessons
to heart, and exercise as much care as we can not to let our work, and our service to the world, take
away from us the most basic necessities of a good and happy life . The Batman series is about Bruce
Wayne, a billionaire playboy who takes it on himself to protect the residents of Gotham City from
violence and corruption, disguised as a high tech anthropomorphic bat. This is an enormous
responsibility, one which comes with constants affronts to his physical and psychological well being,
as well as an inherent sense of psychic quarantine. On the surface, it appears that Morris makes a
strong point: Who would willingly renounce happiness for an ambition as onerous as keeping a major
metropolis from harm? The phrases ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although it s hard to project a hierarchy of values onto a fictional character, one can argue that for
Bruce, a life full of purpose, generosity, and authenticity, is a good and happy life , even if this
consequently means a life of burden, isolation, and renunciation. The virtues Morris extols are so
abstract that they can cover a considerable range in the non binary spectrum of human experience. The
word balance could be used for several situations; although the context of his comment implies that in
this case he means balance on a material and social level, a thorough analysis of the extenuating
circumstances in Bruce s life suggests that Morris s indictment is reductive as it is unfair. As the sole

Globalization And Its Impact On Globalization
The world as we know it, is changing everyday at any given moment. This could be economies,
cultures, religions, environments, etc. Yet, there is one term that has become greatly more popular in
our generation. This would be globalization. Globalization is discussed about by many people even
myself included, but do we really know what it further entails? Globalization has allowed many
countries to come together and succeed in more efficient markets, wealth equality, and new solutions
for all that are involved. Furthermore, we must analyze globalization, look at different arguments for
and against it, and discover what purpose it s trying accomplish across the world. Authors John

They believe that the idea of creating a society that is closer to the model of liberal politics will
produce a better running country. I would have to disagree with that statement because I see many
problems associating with an all liberal society. The main problem being that power lies within the
individuals, not the government. I think the government should always have more authority over the
people to keep the country in order. The government has more experience and should do whats best
for the country in the first place, so all individuals can be satisfied. The reason why we have
governments in the first place is to run countries and make sure they are prospering. Furthermore, I do
like the ideas that they present and I think it has great intent towards globalization. Now looking into
Sen s work, we see a little different view point on what she thinks of globalization. She truly does
believe that globalization has a lot to offer, but it also comes along with many problems. The two main
problems that she highlights in her writings are ethical and human concerns. Basically, she is
concerned on the fact that in globalization, we are taught that people are being treated equally and
fairly in all aspects. Yet, her findings suggest that many individuals are still being mistreated and not
fully accounted for in the equal distribution part. She also brings up another idea about if the poor is
actually getting the same shared benefits

A Sand Country Almanac Analysis
As the swamp is most vital to the species that live in it, the value of nature is most desperately felt by
the urgent parties indicating that humans, caught in the modern trend towards economical profit and
away from ecological ethics, have often failed to notice such vitality of nature to itself as well as to
other parties. However, Aldo Leopold brilliantly successes to break this common rule and spot the
importance of nature in A Sand Country Almanac. In A Sand Country Almanac, Leopold releases
observations of the current ecological problems in the first branch, confirms the need for ecological
ethics in the second, and proposes conclusions of such phenomenon in the third. Leopold concludes
that human beings need to overcome the lack ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In my opinion, the ignorance comes from a lack of concern. How can a person who buys food at a

space between cities on which crops grow... In short, land is something he has outgrown. (Leopold,

environmental choices. Land ethics, thereby, is not just an intellectual process but also an emotional

Compare And Contrast Theseus And Sir Gawain
Battle of the century! Theseus versus Sir Gawain Two great heroes face off and are compared to see
who has more heroism in them. Theseus and Sir Gawain have many similarities including the way
they fight and the way their childhood was like, but those similarities also have many differences, that
s why fighting and what happened in their childhood are being compared.
Both Theseus and Sir Gawain fight with honor and strength, but also their brain. Theseus uses his wits
to defeat his opponent and use their weaknesses against them. Sir Gawain was trained by the Romans
to use strategies and maneuvers to defeat his enemies. Both strategies are effective and are proven so

The Pros And Cons Of Open Adoption
In recent years, the proportion of women who are employed has risen, the fertility concept has
changed and the rate of infertility has risen slightly, resulting in an increase of the number of people
prefer adopting children (Berry 1993). Open adoption is an adoption that involves contact between
biological and adoptive parents and sometimes between biological parents and the adopted child (
Open Adoption 1973). There are close adoption and open adoption. Thus, whether to adopt children
openly is becoming an controversial issue. There is an argument that the adoption should be open.
This essay is divided into three main points to explain this argument. There are the three main points:
Open adoption could be conducive to the mental health of adopted children. Open adoption may be
beneficial for the foster parents and make them get along better with the adopted children. Open
adoption might help improve the communication between the children s biological parents and

Now, let us start with the first aspect. Open adoption may be generally good for children. In the first
place, open adoption could be conducive to the mental health of adopted children and may be
especially conducive to their acceptance and understanding of adoptive relationships. Open adoption
may make children have more sense of security and the feelings of abandonment are correspondingly
reduced. The openness of adoption could make the adopted child have less risk of mental illness
(Agnich 2016). The adopted children perhaps want to know something about their biological parents.
In a closed adoptive relationship, a child s mentality is probably changed and they are likely to have

biological parents so perhaps open adoption will make it easier for children to accept adoption.

The Imitation Game Historical Inaccuracies
The Imitation Game is a 2014 American historical drama film directed by Morten Tyldum and written
by Graham Moore, which is based on the biography Alan Turing: The Enigma by Andrew Hodges. It
is about the code breaking program by the British during World War II, which helped Britain to break
encoded Enigma messages from the Germans. Alan Turning, the main character, is a homosexual
mathematician that is in charge of the project and is portrayed as a selfish genius that builds the code
breaking machine, Christopher almost by himself. During the movie, he is suspected to be a Soviet
spy and is later sentenced to chemical castration due to his homosexuality. The main plot of the movie

The movie also helped me to understand more about the codebreaking of Enigma that in the end
caused Germany to lose the war. I had a lot of German history in high school, since it is obviously
taught in Germany, but we never learned any details about how the encryption of Enigma really
happened and how it was used. Furthermore, I think that the movie is really entertaining; however, it
helps the viewer to understand the historical events taking place and conveys the importance of those
events. I was able to understand the historical event, even though the creators of the movie had made
many changes. I like how Alan Turing is characterized by the filmmaker and how his personality
changes throughout the movie. In general, I think that historical movies are a great way to tell history
as long as the historical events are portrayed close to the historical record. In my opinion, it is a good
way to illustrate history to students because history can be pretty dry if not taught correctly, and
movies help to make it more entertaining. However, historical movies only show a certain civilization
or event, which makes them limiting in conveying the whole economic and global effects of the events
portrayed. If historical movies are combined with informing lectures and textbook readings, the whole
history can be conveyed very accurately to students, and the films make it more fun to study

Leadership As A Leader And A Manager Essay
Within a group, the member who fulfills the role of the leader will invariably have both a direct and
indirect effect on the group as a whole (Beattie, Girvan, Rayner, Rayner Bell, 2014). In the words of
John C. Maxwell: A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way. Throughout
history, there have been a countless number of people that are identified as leaders. An effective leader
will possess the desired characteristics and will be able to assess a variety of tasks. According to
Dereli (2003), there are a number of definitions of leadership, and the literature suggests that there is a
distinction between a leader and a manager. Winston and Patterson (2006) state that leadership is
defined as one or more individuals, who are able to select a variety of strategies, and influence
followers to work towards a common goal or objective. Darr s (2011) research distinguishes managers
and leaders based on the idea that managers take on the caretaker role, whereby maintaining the status
quo. This can be identified as a transactional leadership role (Darr, 2011). Odumeru and Ifeanyi (2013)
state that the transactional role requires the individual to supervise and organise group performance.
Darr (2011) also states that in comparison to a manager, leaders are seen to be more as visionaries and
much more dynamic. Many leaders are viewed differently, because they possess or demonstrate
transformational leadership qualities and characteristics . Yukl (1999)

The Truth About SARS Essay
The Truth About SARS
People in general are both fascinated and paranoid of the onset of new infectious diseases. While films
such as Outbreak are smash hits at the box office, when an actual disease becomes apparent people
often react with a kind of mass hysteria. Last year, a new illness reared its evil head. While the name
SARS has become fairly well known, the actual facts behind the illness are not as widely talked about.
SARS is an acronym for Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome. The illness usually first becomes
evident with a temperature above 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit, general malaise, and body aches. This
adds to the difficulty of identifying SARS; the general signs of the illness are so similar to more

Scientists have detected a previously unrecognized coronavirus in SARS patients, and this has become
the leading hypothesis for the cause of SARS. Coronaviruses are a group of viruses that, when viewed
under a powerful microscope, have a halo or crown like (hence corona) appearance. Viruses under
these headings are known to commonly cause mild to moderate upper respiratory illness in humans. In
animals, coronaviruses are associated with respiratory, gastrointestinal, liver, and neurological
diseases. Also, new ways to detect SARS have been discovered. Serologic testing for the SARS
syndrome can be performed using indirect fluorescent antibodies or enzyme linked immunosorbent
assays that are specific for the antibody that was produced after infection. A reverse transcriptase
polymerase chain reaction (known as RT PCR) test can also detect SARS in specimens such as serum,
stool, and nasal secretions. Also, viral cultures and isolation have been used to detect SARS lt; 1

Analysis Of The Book Portrait Of The Artist
Ovid s Metamorphoses, having no set plot may at first confuse some readers, though it starts with
creation, it moves on the practices involving Gods and mortals and the changes they incur. The stories
seem to follow each other in time, but there are flashback s that show Ovid is not concerned with the
nebulas of time, instead he is showing the transformation s the characters go through. Passage of time
is not Ovid s point, but as he put in the mouth of Pythagoras, the only constant in the universe is
change. Ovid s character s changes are usually immediate, Athena changed Talos to a partridge,
Daphne was transformed into a laurel tree, and Echo, well was turned into an echo. There is often a
discontinuity of time, we know Echo wasted away, but how long that took is not important the theme
is, the often lack of the restraints of time is what makes mythology so easy to relate for any era. James
Joyce in his novel, Portrait of the Artist as A Young Man, ties his story with the semblances of
mythology from the story of Daedalus and Icarus, fusing the ideas that discovery, sacrifice and
rebellion is a process needed to be an artist. Though Daedalus and Icarus are from a mythical time and
Stephen is living in a specific time during Dublin s history, all characters are faced with the struggles
of existence, self discovery, and learning how to deal with one s own need for artistic freedom and the
disadvantages such gifts may pose. The path that each undergo, either by

The common problem which researcher s faced was, they directly supplied the HHO gas in the
carburetor. This HHO gas enters the carburetor at a certain temperature and with some traces of water
in form of vapors. Both the outcome can be easily controlled by a simple unit. These problems are
caused by the heat generation due to reaction happening through the electrolysis process inside the
container. Some researchers have sprayed water to control the pre ignition but eventually was in vain.
There is one best solution to get rid from both of these problems which have a further effects on the
engine which are stated above. If the HHO gas is somehow cooled than the temperature would
decrease and water vapor would condense leaving only the gas at a low temperature and without water
vapors. This simple unit contains a bottle filled with water at a room temperature. This bottle is named
Bubbler in which HHO gas would enter from the top which is packed for any leakages then it will
reach till bottom making the gas at a lower temperature and condensing the gas. Only the pure HHO
gas bubbles make till top and further enters the carburetor through nonreturn valve. This simple
arrangement can lead to a solution

Analysis Of Old School By Tobias Wolff
In modern society, we often face competition to survive. We may forget our own truth because of our
selfish behavior. However, no person can say that people who value their integrity highly are good
people, and no one is curious about what is and is not really ethical behavior. There are always certain
experiences that shape a person s moral standpoint and integrity. In Old School by Tobias Wolff, he
expresses this message in the book. The main character of the book, is a fictional alter ego of Tobias
Wolff. Throughout this novel, He is trying to provide the basis of truth by using various scenes,
characters, and other incidents, he expressed it. Reading this novel, the audience will probably be
curious about what is true and untruthful. Wolff did not say the name of the protagonist in this novel,
but by writing in the first person, he portrayed the main charger as another self of himself, and through
this manner, readers have had the opportunity to lead themselves. Readers are left to ask, what is the
truthfulness and false in our live.

Least effective Super Bowl Ad GoDaddy Bodybuilder
This was my least favorite as well as effective commercial for me from this year s Super Bowl ads. It
starts off with a bunch of body builders running led by Danica Patrick, the race car driver who s
wearing a black and neon green top and shorts muscle suit running towards a spray tan salon. She
knocks on the window of the salon and the ad ends with the punch line, it s go time.
First of all the commercial was too short, I thought it was teaser and it felt like an incomplete ad. Didn

to say. Basically, the ad ends with owner of the spray salon saying, it s go time, while spraying a little

goal of this ad is to increase awareness for GoDaddy s web hosting services.

Observing others behaviors lets one realize and understand more about different types and kinds of

much of the same reason. When you are part of a group, you understand and compromise with the
other members of the group. Discussing issues involving the community helps to lead to solutions.
Talking things through with other members improves social skills as well as relationships. Knowing
how people feel about certain issues let you know more about that person, and in turn, you learn more
about yourself. Hearing what other people have to say may sway your own opinions about something.
For example, maybe you are part of a church you thought you really believed in, but hearing the

Though that specific church may be the right place for many, you learn that you need a new church

Listening
Listening is the conscious processing of auditory stimuli perceived through hearing. According the

The Process Of Unification Occurred Over A 100 Year Period
The process of unification occurred over a 100 year period, and was spurred on by a number of
individuals, both Italians such as Cavour and Crispi and foreigners such as napoleon the III. There
were, however, different stages of unification throughout the entire process.
The actions of each key individual must be assessed within each stage they influenced and how their
actions affected unification in a positive or negative way.
The first stage of unification was 1800 to 1815, where Napoleon I was the primary mover. He made a
huge number of changes such as changing ruling dynasties , simplifying trade boundaries, and most
importantly, establishing his Code Napoleon as law. Mack Smith argues that these reforms made Italy
change ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It can therefore be concluded that the advancements Napoleon made were only short term and he
intended to just create a satellite of France, and giving the Italians too much of a unification spirit
would have made them too strong. However, he did have a long term political significance; he for
political unity and inadvertently encouraged the Italians dislike of foreigners through his enforced
conscription policies, which encouraged a sense of nationalism for the first time.
The next stage was 1815 to 1849, involving primarily the Austrian Chancellor Prince Clemens von
Metternich and the Italian political idealist Giuseppe Mazzini.
They had an almost symbiotic relationship, ether justifying the others existence. This is argued by
Sarti who implies Mazzini and Metternich helped unification through their hatred of each other;
Mazzini served as the ideologist and Metternich the oppressor, each justified the other s involvement
in italy. Berkley says that there was truth in Metternich s thousand times reiterated assertion that he
was defending law and order because if Mazzini s revolutions had been successful, there would have
been bloodshed and utter anarchy . It is certainly

Task 1 Health Indicators Of Wellbeing
Task 1:
Question 1 Health indicators of wellbeing
My question is:
If life expectancy is high in a given country will the income or GDP per person also be high
The two indicators that I have chosen are:
Life expectancy: The average number of years a newborn child would live if current mortality patterns
were to stay the same. Life expectancy is an indicator of wellbeing because the higher the GDP the
longer you will live because you can afford medicine and healthcare to take care of yourself and the
healthier your body is then the longer live. Docs.google.com, (2015).
GDP: Gross Domestic Product per capita by Purchasing Power Parities (in international dollars, fixed
2011 prices). The inflation and differences in the cost of living between ... Show more content on

Some reasons why there are differences between countries include the countries amount of wealth.
One country is more developed than the other, meaning that they would earn more money. In African
countries, they are having a more structured effort in their education. People will still go to school
even though they are already an adult; this is because they feel that an education is important.
Therefore, the answer to my question is no, a country does not need to have a high GDP to maintain a
high literacy rate.
Task 2: The Happy Planet Index (HPI)
The Happy Planet Index is the leading global measure of sustainable wellbeing. It records the
important information and indicators such as experienced well being, life expectancy and Ecological
footprints. It is different to other measures of wellbeing because it shows a very important aspect of
life, happiness. Other forms of measures just measure the wellbeing of people such as GDP rates and
life expectancy of countries. But the HPI measures the happiness of a country, this is good because it
could be compared with other indicators such as poverty and income. It shows that countries with a lot
of money will not always be

Should The Titanic Be Preserved
If you found the Titanic would you take it out of the ocean and disrupt the peace or would you leave it.
I beileve that the Titanic shouldn t be preserved. Many people s remains have been found and I
wouldn t mess with it. The danger of messing with the ship on the way up could be detrimental. The
cost would be great if the ship were to have broken in half. Many people died on April 12,1912. There
were shoes from all the passengers in the water. The sand is full of dead bodies because they have
been eaten and degraded. The Titanic is a graveyard that is over 100 ago. Would you disturb the peace
of the Titanic. They could mess up the ship where it would be destroyed. Someone could get hurt from

Why Did Sitting Bull Play In The Battle Of Little Bighorn
5. What hard dilemma did President Grant face after the discovery of gold in the Black Hills? Why did
this conflict between minors and Indians result in the Great Sioux War of 1876? What role did Sitting
Bull play in the Battle of Little Bighorn?
4. Why did Sitting Bull oppose the building of the Northern Pacific Railroad? What act of Bravery did
he perform at the Battle of Arrow Creek that added to his reputation as legendary leader of his people?
In 1874 gold was discovered in the Black Hills. President Grant was forced to make a harsh decision
because the Black Hills were located in the Great Sioux Reservation that the Indians had gained under
the Treaty of 1868. President Grant allowed miners to enter the Black Hills and insisted that this act
would be legalized. Government attempted to acquire the Black Hills where the gold was located
however Sitting Bull was against the sale of the land. The Great War of Sioux 1876 resulted from a
disagreement between miners and Indians. Miners had already began to come to the Black Hills to
mine for goal and the government allowed these things to happen. Because Sitting Bull and his army
men were not sure of what would happened when the white men entered they were forced to attack in
fear. They had not interfered with the gold rush, and although they had not signed the Treaty of 1868,
in sanctioned their residence in the unceded territory. (Utley pg34). Sitting Bull gave orders to his
young soldiers to harass whites at

Conflict Between Cultural And Historical Norms
Women, whether in the western world or third world countries, are socialised in patriarchal societies
where misogyny is often internalised. As a result women often make choices, which reflect their
subordinate status to keep to the norm and stabilise themselves economically and socially. Women in
countries in sub Saharan Africa, South and East Asian areas, though in differing contexts face similar
struggles of subservience and manipulation. Women accommodate, resist or adapt to the sexist
oppressive system. Those who choose to bargain with the social constructs aim to enhance their
situation, giving them more power and to some extent freedom from ideological societies that
subjugate them.
Deniz Kandiyoti, s bargaining with patriarchy offers a complex but seemingly pertinent argument in
regards to the dichotomy between society and gender specific roles. Regarding their practices as fluid
and negotiable, where societies are the product of imposition that struggle between cultural and
historical norms. Within these systems of negotiation, Kandiyoti s juxtaposes agricultural labor and
classic patriarchy. Within Sub Saharan Africa gender relations tend to favor that of males, receiving
both credit and economic stability, however it is not just the men who contribute to the economy but
that of women. Patriarchal bargaining in Africa has resulted in women s resistance to men s absolutist
power over the access and value of their work. Kandiyoti sates women have very little

  • 2. Economic Development Strategy For The City Of Sydney Basic Summary Sydney is Australia s worldwide city, and the main learning based economy in the country. More than $100 billion for each annum is produced in Sydney. That is more than half of what the whole mining part creates, and double the span of the horticultural division at the farm gate. In the course of the most recent five years our city economy has demonstrated its flexibility by withstanding the worldwide financial recession. About 2000 organisations were added to the city since 2007. Economic Development Strategy for the City The City of Sydney s 10 year Economic Development Strategy will help convey a realistic vision for a significantly more dynamic, earth feasible economy, and a liveable city that works for inhabitants, labourers, guests and understudies. Activity arrangements will bolster our current monetary qualities, for example, the fund, tourism and retail areas; and develop new, rising parts, for example, the evening time economy and green economy divisions. We are as of now putting $1.9 billion in a 10 year framework project including Light Rail and the change of George Street; diminishing administrative obstructions to energise business; and reactivating places, ... Of those 539 households with married couples have one or more children living at home under the age of 18 (Social Explorer, 2013). My family household is myself, my husband of 23 years, and our 15 year old daughter. We have a 21 year old daughter who lives on her own currently in Colorado. I think the changes in family has to do with how families have changed to now recognize families of same sex couples. This is a huge leap from the 1950 s model of a nuclear family of husband, wife, and their children (New York University Department of Sociology, 2013). Society as a ... • 10. Robinson Crusoe Book Analysis In Daniel Defoe s Robinson Crusoe, it tells the story of young man from the city York. The original name of Robinson was Kreutznar but was called Crusoe instead because so many people would butcher his name. Robinson was the third son for his father and mother. The first born son for Robinson s father was in the military as Lt. Col and was killed in action near the famous battle at Dunkirk. The second son of the family was more or less a disappointment, since neither Robinson or his parents knew what happened to him. With Robinson coming from a family of decent wealth, it was now on to him to do well for himself. It seems from an early age Robinson doesn t plan on going on the path his father wanted him to. In the book, Robinson says not bred to any trade, my head began to be fill d very early with rambling thoughts (Defoe 5). With all the education that his father was providing him, he didn t have any interests in the direction that his father was steering him to which was law. It seems Robinson wants to venture on his own path and prove that he can be successful on his terms and not that of his father and mother. Robinson wanted to be out in the sea, but his parents didn t want that for him and wouldn t give him permission to leave. Until, one day a friend of his was leaving on a ship and a naïve Robinson against his parents wishes followed his friend. The journey doesn t end up going well and gives Robinson a wakeup call that he should listen to his parents. In the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. The Importance Of Cultural Imperialism The Kiowa are a Native American people who have been greatly impacted by cultural imperialism. They were forced to adapt to western culture, and in this many of the Kiowa people were converted to Christianity. Christianity is said to be a very important aspect of many Native American cultures still today, but the way in which Christianity is portrayed and practiced in such societies, including that of the Kiowa, stays true to both the religion itself and their Native practices. The Kiowa are said to have kiowanized Christianity. The Kiowa version of Christianity is said to differ from the white man s way. This means that they believe in God, integrate their culture and lifestyles into Christianity, and they also relay the importance of their religion in a different manner. They use their native language in their hymns, and these hymns are comprised primarily of those elements that pertain directly to Kiowa culture. In the text Lassiter states, Kiowa hymns give life to a unique Kiowa experience, preserve the language, and affirm and ongoing (and continually unfolding) Kiowa spirituality. This reveals the effectiveness and importance of the integration of Christianity and native Kiowa practices. Language has been a central focus of anthropological interest for many reasons. However, within a certain time period and region, there are recurring details in many Buddhist works of art. The First Sermon (2ndc 3rdc: Gandhara), which depicts Buddha delivering his first sermon, is no exception to this fact. The design and visual characteristics of The First Sermon serve as clear evidence that the work was created during the rule of the Kushan empire, specifically in Gandhara. Additionally, those same characteristics suggest that the piece was most likely used for adornment of a temple or other structure rather than for individual worship. How Did Geography Affect Where Colonists Settled Essay Beginning in 1607, when ambitious English colonists settled in Jamestown, and continuing until the last of the thirteen colonies was established; geography was a substantial factor in the development of colonial America. Also, the Appalachian Mountains and the dense forests provided a barrier for the colonists, preventing them from going too far west right away, and causing the colonies to form in the arrangement they did. I think the government should always have more authority over the people to keep the country in order. The government has more experience and should do whats best for the country in the first place, so all individuals can be satisfied. I had a lot of German history in high school, since it is obviously taught in Germany, but we never learned any details about how the encryption of Enigma really happened and how it was used. Furthermore, I think that the movie is really entertaining; however, it helps the viewer to understand the historical events taking place and conveys the importance of those events. I was able to understand the historical event, even though the creators of the movie had made many changes. I like how Alan Turing is characterized by the filmmaker and how his personality changes throughout the movie. In general, I think that historical movies are a great way to tell history as long as the historical events are portrayed close to the historical record. In my opinion, it is a good way to illustrate history to students because history can be pretty dry if not taught correctly, and movies help to make it more entertaining. However, historical movies only show a certain civilization or event, which makes them limiting in conveying the whole economic and global effects of the events portrayed. If historical movies are combined with informing lectures and textbook readings, the whole history can be conveyed very accurately to students, and the films make it more fun to study ... • 30. Leadership As A Leader And A Manager Essay Within a group, the member who fulfills the role of the leader will invariably have both a direct and indirect effect on the group as a whole (Beattie, Girvan, Rayner, Rayner Bell, 2014). In the words of John C. Maxwell: A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way. Throughout history, there have been a countless number of people that are identified as leaders. An effective leader will possess the desired characteristics and will be able to assess a variety of tasks. According to Dereli (2003), there are a number of definitions of leadership, and the literature suggests that there is a distinction between a leader and a manager. Winston and Patterson (2006) state that leadership is defined as one or more individuals, who are able to select a variety of strategies, and influence followers to work towards a common goal or objective. Darr s (2011) research distinguishes managers and leaders based on the idea that managers take on the caretaker role, whereby maintaining the status quo. This can be identified as a transactional leadership role (Darr, 2011). Odumeru and Ifeanyi (2013) state that the transactional role requires the individual to supervise and organise group performance. Darr (2011) also states that in comparison to a manager, leaders are seen to be more as visionaries and much more dynamic. Many leaders are viewed differently, because they possess or demonstrate transformational leadership qualities and characteristics . Yukl (1999) ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 34. Analysis Of The Book Portrait Of The Artist Ovid s Metamorphoses, having no set plot may at first confuse some readers, though it starts with creation, it moves on the practices involving Gods and mortals and the changes they incur. The stories seem to follow each other in time, but there are flashback s that show Ovid is not concerned with the nebulas of time, instead he is showing the transformation s the characters go through. Passage of time is not Ovid s point, but as he put in the mouth of Pythagoras, the only constant in the universe is change. Ovid s character s changes are usually immediate, Athena changed Talos to a partridge, Daphne was transformed into a laurel tree, and Echo, well was turned into an echo. There is often a discontinuity of time, we know Echo wasted away, but how long that took is not important the theme is, the often lack of the restraints of time is what makes mythology so easy to relate for any era. James Joyce in his novel, Portrait of the Artist as A Young Man, ties his story with the semblances of mythology from the story of Daedalus and Icarus, fusing the ideas that discovery, sacrifice and rebellion is a process needed to be an artist. Though Daedalus and Icarus are from a mythical time and Stephen is living in a specific time during Dublin s history, all characters are faced with the struggles of existence, self discovery, and learning how to deal with one s own need for artistic freedom and the disadvantages such gifts may pose.
