Crafting an essay on the subject of "Best Essay Books" presents a unique set of challenges that
require both analytical and literary skills. Firstly, delving into the vast realm of literature demands
a thorough understanding of the topic, as the selection of the best essay books involves
subjective interpretation and personal preferences. It requires a meticulous review of various
literary works, encompassing different genres, styles, and time periods.
Navigating through the diverse landscape of essay books poses another hurdle, as one must
critically evaluate the impact, relevance, and literary merit of each piece. This involves assessing
the author's writing style, the depth of ideas presented, and the overall contribution of the book
to the field of essay writing. Additionally, considering the subjective nature of literary
appreciation, reconciling conflicting opinions on what constitutes the "best" can be a challenging

Cultural Differences and Global Marketing
Cultural differences and global marketingCultural differences and global marketing
The progress of humanity and human beings can be attributed to one important factor
and that is the strong capability of human beings to understand and adapt to cultural
differences. Respecting cultural differences has brought the human beings close
together and has tied them in a strong bond. The conquering of the cultural
differences has also introduced us to a new terminology, global economy, which is a
global system of production, distribution and consumption. The world has become a
singular unit because the pace of economic development has accelerated due to an
increase in marketing not only at a local level, but also at a global level. Global ...

The advertising should be planned in such a manner that it appeals to the customers
in the international market. Some cultures show an open attitude towards
advertisements, while others may not have such an open attitude and may not like to
be targeted directly. The advertisements should be created after a careful study of the
international market and always by keeping a watchful eye on the cultural differences.
The global marketing mixes like product, price, placement and promotion should also
be planned on the basis of the cultural differences. The product should be modified
based on the taste and the requirements of the particular country being targeted for
the sale of the product. The sales will boost up only if the companies keep in mind
the demands of the particular culture. The success story of Nissin Food Products
Company Ltd. gives us strong evidence that it is necessary to keep in mind the
demands of the international market when developing the products. Nissin s products
are sold in more than 100 countries and the company has branches and also
manufacturing units in ten countries, which includes China, Hong Kong, the
Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Germany, The United States and The Netherlands.
The company has profited because the products are manufactured according to the
relevant taste and demand of the customers belonging to different cultures.

John P Kennedy
Rose Fitzgerald and John P. Kennedy met as teenagers while their families
vacationed together at Old Orchard Beach. By October 14th, 1914, the two were
happily married and ready to move into their first home as newlyweds. They first
lived in a building on Beals street that stood three stories tall with a grey
finish.Within the next eighteen years, the couple would have their nine children
and Rose would inherit the well deserved name as a model parent by friends and
neighbors. John P. Kennedy began his life in their first home with a salary of
around $10,000 but left the Brookline residence as a millionaire. Kennedy s
Grandfather, Francis Fitzgerald, began his political career as a city councilman,
progressed to a congressman, and was elected as mayor in 1906. He served the
position as mayor until 1913 when Francis life as a politician came to a halt after a
sex scandal threat came into play. Kennedy s older brother Joe, joined the US Navy
at the same time that John did so. Joe was unfortunately killed in combat and never
returned home. The Kennedy familyis full of success stories and intriguing

the previous baby boom. Kennedy fought the claim that his executive order to
desegregate federally funded housing would help end a piece of discrimination.
Throughout his campaign, John stuck to his liberal platform endorsing his beliefs

Physics Of Tackling The American Football
Brandon Hergott
The Physics of Tackling in American Football The game that America has come to
know and love may have more behind it than everyday viewers and fans realize.
Physics fuels every aspect of the game of football and is evident in the collisions
that take place on every play. Watching a game of football can be a great learning
tool to anyone interested in better understanding the laws of physics. Many great
examples are provided on every snap. Mass, force, momentum, velocity and torque
all play significant roles in the tackling action performed by players and the better
you understand these terms the better you can begin to understand the game itself.
Most of what football players and coaches know about tackling is more instinctive
than anything. They understand more about the physics of the process more than
they realize. Acceleration, force, mass, momentum, Inertia, torque, velocity, and
center of mass are important terms that become relevant when discussing the
physics of tackling in football. Acceleration is the rate of change of velocity in a
certain period of time. Force in football can be described as the influence on a
body that causes it to accelerate. The amount of substance an object is made up of
is the mass. Momentum comes as the result of the product of the mass of a moving
object and its velocity. Inertia is the resistance of a moving object to a change in
speed or direction, and also the resistance of a stationary object to being moved.

Main Symbols In Trifles
Trifles a theatrical play, was written by Susan Glaspell in the US in 1916. The
story is set on the investigation of the murder of Mr. Wright, by characters Mr.
Hale and Mrs. Hale, Mr. Peters and Mrs. Peters, and Henderson. As the men try to
find clues for investigating the murder case, the wives of them find and then hide
from the men a dead bird which died the same way Mr. Wright did. This essay will
discuss Mrs. Wright, a character who only appears through the description by the
other speaking characters, and how Glaspell successfully represents Mrs. Wright
symbolically through the setting, the other characters, and specific symbols in the
play. The setting of the play describes Mrs Write s lifestyle. The kitchenis described as

Wright herself. The canary was Mrs. Wright s pet bird she bought possibly around
last year as Mrs. Hale recalls (Glaspell 94). The death of the bird signifies the death
of peace, as birds are well known to be symbolic of peace. Also, the bird itself may
symbolise Mrs. Wright herself, as she was lively talented singer at first, but then
caged in a closed environment (depiction of marriage and housekeeping) and then
killed (depiction of her social life outside the house). The quilt, although at the start
was so nice and even , has become all over the place by the end of it according to
Mrs. Hale (Glaspell 93). The sudden disorder and confusion following straight after a
stability and calmness in Mrs. Wright s lifestyle is accurately represented in this
particular symbol. This links with Mrs. Hale s more positive image of her before she
got married to Mr. Wright, mentioned in the paragraph

The European colonists of New Zealand did not recognise principles of MДЃtauranga

become more recognised and is now becoming incorporated into today s practices
(Landcare Research, 2014).
Manaaki Whenua (Landcare Research) is a Crown Research Institute that is trying to

Guantanamo Bay And The War Of Terror
Guantanamo Bay
As Nelson Mandela once said, To deny people their human rights is to challenge their
very humanity. GuantГЎnamo bay, Cuba is the home of the oldest U.S naval station
base out of the continental U.S. The United States invaded GuantГЎnamo bay and
established a base during the Spanish American war ( Guantanamo... 2008, par. 2).
After the attack on the twin towers on September 11, 2001, the base s mission
expanded to include the Detainee Mission of the War of Terror ( Guantanamo... 2008,
par. 5). Many issues have risen because of this detention facility. The detainees held at
the facility have to and had to face many challenges. The government took away their
human rights and treats these detainees very harshly. Currently, there are still
detainees held at GuantГЎnamo bay. However, some actions have occurred to stop
these inhumane actions, but there have not been enough to close the facility down.
Interrogation Techniques Detainees held at Guantanamo bay are all interrogated and

Pathos, Pros, And Cons And Uses Of The Hyundai
Commercials
One product most people use in their everyday lives are vehicles. I have chosen
two commercials, one advertising the Honda Ridgeline and the other marketing the
Hyundai Elantra. In the Honda commercial, a farmer tends to his sheep, that start
singing as soon as the farmer drives away. The Hyundai commercial is very
comical, showing a town where everyone is Ryan Reynolds to catch your attention.
These commercials use pathos, ethos, and logos to sell their product.
Advertisements use many forms of persuasion to get people to buy their product.
One of these is pathos, which appeals to the emotions of the audience and evokes
their feelings. In the Honda commercial, one can see sheep in the pasture singing to
Somebody to Love after the farmer drives off in his new Honda Ridgeline. This is
very humorous, considering sheep do not speak, let alone belt out notes from
Queen. Not only are there singing sheep, but there is a talking dog towards the end
of the commercial which tells those who are watching about the Honda Ridgeline (
Honda Ridgeline Super Bowl Commercial internet). This is similar to the Hyundai
commercial, which is also very amusing. The audience can see two women driving
through a neighborhood, where every person is Ryan Reynolds. This shows pathos,
because it appeals to the viewers emotions by laughing at the comical commercial (
Ryanville Hyundai Super Bowl internet). Another form of persuasion commercials
use is ethos, which appeals to one s ethics. In the

The basic design is similar to a firearm, much like a large pistol. There are a few
paintball markers that are held in the style of a rifle, like the Tippmann A 5, Pro
/Carbine, or the Armotech SIM 4. But for the most part, markers are built like a
large pistol. There are also paintball markers that look like a true pistol, and the
differences will be explained shortly. The barrel of a paintball markeris approximately
.68 calibers, although it can vary a slight amount depending on the manufacturer.
The barrel is connected to the chamber, which holds the paintball inside the marker
as it is about to be fired. When the trigger is pulled, high pressure gas is released
into the chamber, pushing the ball forward at very high speeds. The ball travels
down and out of the barrel, in whatever direction the marker is pointing. Most
paintball markers have the air connected in what is called a bottomline setup,
where the gas hose comes out of the marker a short distance in front of the trigger
assembly, and down to the bottom of the grip. This makes the marker easier to hold
because it allows the use of the C02 tank as a stock to brace against one s shoulder.
Most of the paintball markers styled as true pistols use a much smaller, disposable
C02 cartridge, no bottomline and hold a limited number of rounds.
Secondly, the paintball mask. A paintball mask is a mask specially designed for the
sport of paintball. It has a clear lens, similar to

computer much faster and easier. Instead of having to search (possibly through
command line) for something you may possibly do everyday, you can make a
shortcut to it (and in some cases, your computer will make one for you) and just

Learning Disabilities And The Early Stages Of A Disability
Abstract
Learning disabilities are something a lot of people have to do it. It is a problem
that affects many people around the world, and causes a lot of frustration. This
people will cover the general definition of what other s ability is, and explain a
little bit what it is. It will also go over some myths that are prevalent when it comes

Learning Disabilities
Learning disabilities are the most common disability. These disabilities are not like
others, they affect different people in different ways and have plenty of myths behind
them. There is a criterion that has to be met to receive the proper treatment and
warning signs that can identify the early stages of a disability.
Definition of Learning Disabilities
There have been many different definitions for what a learning disability is. These
definitions fan from books, to websites, to research papers, basically every and
anything has its own definition for what other disability is. LD Online states that a
learning disability is a neurological disorder ( What is a Learning, 2015). However, a

of confidence the speaker has gained for the speaker is showing that he/she could

the major difference from the longing My Favorite Accident expresses but it also
helps to add on to the theme that relationships do not always work out and that
could be for better or for worse. In contrast, My Favorite Accident states, I can t

Vampire Squid Research Paper
The deep sea cephalopod called the vampire squid is a very unique organism. In
1903 it was found and classified as a octopus. The scientist thought this because it
shares traits with the squid and with the octopus. Another common name for the
vampire squid is the squid from hell. the name comes from the colors of the squid.
The squid colors can vary from velvet jet black to a pale reddish color. Their color
depends on where they are located meaning how much light they reach. Even though
is says it is a vampiresquid, it does not feed off of blood. Scientist do not know
much of what they eat. They do know they do not eat very much and they somewhat

Scientist think that vampire squids reproduce by the male leaving sperm in the
female s sac. Females store the sperm for weeks before the eggs are fertilized. It
takes about thirteen months for the babies to be born. Because they are born
bigger, the female will have fewer babies than other species. Their is no certain
time that they are breaded the eggs are found all year around. Many deep sea
cephalopods do not have ink sacs. Vampire squids are also in that category. When
it feels threatened it almost turns itself inside out by curling its arms backwards
and wrapping them around its body. When they do this their body showing spiny

whatever they are threatened by will not be able to see. This allows the squid to

have to move far for their predators to not be able to see them. Some interesting
things about the vampire squids is that they have the largest eyes for its size body
than any animal on earth. Their eyes are about an inch long and are very bright blue.

Essay on The Roaring Twenties
The Roaring Twenties
Do you ever find yourself wondering why the 1920s were called the Roaring
Twenties? The Roaring Twenties was a celebration of youth and culture. During the
1920s, many different forms of art, music, and literature began. There were many
changes that took place in the 1920s, and many people were influenced by these
changes. The Roaring Twentieswas a constant party because America was
celebrating the victory of World War I. Many customs and values changed in the
United States in the 1920s.
In the 19th century right before 1920, America was a country of small towns and
farms that were held together by conservative moral values and close social
relationships. The middle class rural population believed in the ... Show more content

The people of the city drank and gambled, shocking small town people. They
considered these things sins. Each day more and more people would enter the cities
making it more impersonal and frightening. The streets were now filled with
strangers, where as before they were filled with friends and neighbors. Social
standards, the business climate and foreign cultures were very hard to accept because
of their objectives of wealth and gratification. During the Twenties, American women
changed greatly from long hair and dark prudish ankle length dresses, to short bobbed
hair and bright waistless dresses. Many young Twenties women became more
confident with themselves. Some began smoking cigarettes and drinking in public,
which was not acceptable before and would have ruined reputations. Many rebellious
women became flappers, which were liberated young women who embraced the new
urban attitudes and fashions. After World War I, many Americans had money to
spare and the time to enjoy it. In 1929, Americans spent $4.5 billion on entertainment,
which was mostly on changing fads. By 1925, filmmaking had become the fourth
largest industry in America. More than 20,000 movie houses did business nationwide.
Before World War I, silent films were shown in small nickelodeons, which only cost a
nickel. After the war, entrepreneurs began to build luxurious movie houses, known as
picture palaces since they were plentifully decorated with velvet
Nitration Of Methyl Benzoate Lab Report
The purpose of this experiment is to study an electrophilic aromatic substitution. With
observing this substitution, the identity of the major product will be discovered. The
method used to reach the purpose of the experiment is a TLC. The nitration of
methyl benzoate with a mixture of sulfuric acid and nitric acid will be performed in
the experiment. NO2 is the electrophile in the experiment, and it is an electron
withdrawing group that makes the methyl benzoate less reactive. The NO2 group in
this nitration can be added to three different positions ortho, para, or meta. When the
NO2 is added, it makes a methyl nitrobenzoate. The weight recorded of methyl
benzoate in the start of the experiment is 3.397 grams. The weight of the crude

Using Alberto Manguel s The Richler Room
The Richler Room left by famous Canadian author Mordecai Richler contains all
the books he has collected throughout his life as well as a collection of objects he
had used during his writing career. Using Alberto Manguel s quote about the
difference between a public library and a private library, I consider the Richler
Room more than a space defined by the two terms, but a space in which people can
gather and feel the presence of the past through the objects and books within the
room. Manguel s quote which differentiates a public libraryand a personal library as
well as exploring the Richler Room suggests that a personal library would be a
mixture of a library and an archive. When the class was asked whether we considered

The Incident Command System Essay
Emergency services face vast difficulties in the operations field when handling
emergency situations, whether it comes from handling a minor accident to a
catastrophic catastrophy. Many of the difficulties do not come from the actual
incident, but instead they arise from forming a rescue team containing different
agencies and people. For the benefit off all individuals participating, it is imperative
that there be a unified command structure in place to effectively coordinate and
oversee the tasks that need to be accomplished. The need of a unified command was
seen from the hardships faced in incidents, bringing forth the development of the
Incident Command Systemthat was designed to be used in an array of conditions, to

Directly receiving directions from the Incident Commander as well as reporting to
the Command Staff are sections that oversee, plan, and assemble the necessary
resources to carry out the Incident Action Plan passed down from the Command
Staff. The Operations Section is managed by the Operations Section Chief who
oversees all tactical operations at the incident. Deputies can then be appointed
underneath the Operations Section Chief to control different Branches of
operations in order to keep the span of control in scale. Ideally one individual
should only control five other individuals on scene. As resources grow, the span of
control can be reduced through the implementation of Divisions and Groups.
Divisions can be used if the need arises to slit operations into geographical
locations. This allows for the Operations Section Chief to pass on vital information
to crews in a specific location. These divisions may simply be a quadrant of a
structure, as well as a large area. It enables for all Divisions to communicate and
work together, even through the use of different methods. Groups can then be
implemented to further break down Divisions into smaller more manageable
resources. In each geographical location, the ability to control law
What Is The Competency Of Quantity Surveyors
This chapter are divided into several sub topics to give an understanding relating to
the topic of the study. The sub topics are focussing on the topic of competency of
Quantity Surveyors such as; the definition, area of competency, the importance and
the improvement. The related topics on Quantity Surveyors also are reviewed such
as the roles and the challenges faced by Quantity Surveyors nowadays. Through this
chapter, the reviews are elaborated by using reliable sources such as books, journals
and website. In overall, this chapter gives an overview about the competency in the
Quantity Surveyors and its scope within.
2.2Quantity Surveyors
There are various professionals involved in the construction industry such as the
design team, the builders and others. Quantity Surveyor is one of the professionals that
contribute in the construction project. Based on Royal Institution of Chartered
Surveyors (RICS) documentation (2014), Quantity Surveying is a client led
profession where the Quantity Surveyors act on what client needs and they must use
own skill development depending on the owners requirements.

I Feel That This Assessment Overall Went Pretty Well
I feel that this assessment overall went pretty well. Miss. S. had me work with three
students individually, and these students ranged from high performance to low
performance. I thought this was a good choice so I could experience difference
between the different developmental levels of the students. I performed the
assessment on October 14th of 2016, in Miss. S s classroom during the students free
choice time. Of the three students that participated, one of the students receives
speech therapy. The first student that I assessed was Child 1, and he doesn t receive
extra services. Johnathan did really well overall, but did struggle with some words. I
feel that Johnathan could have taken his time more and really focused on sounding
the words out before saying what he thought they were. I did noticed that the mixed
up and mistaken some of the vowels. When I performed the spellingtest at the end,
Johnathan had trouble with the wordyou. When he started to spell the word he
started with OU, but then he corrected himself and spelt the word correctly. I still
marked the word as incorrect since he started spelling the word wrong. The second
student that I assessed was Child 2, and he receives speech therapy. I didn t
complete the assessment because Derek was struggling and wasn t close to saying
the words that I was pointing to. When saying some of the words he was either
correct or very close. With some of the words he was questioning himself whether he

C Language
The C programming language (often, just C ) is a general purpose, procedural,
imperative computer programming language developed in the early 1970s by Dennis
Ritchie for use on the Unix operating system. It has since spread to many other
operating systems, and is now one of the most widely used programming languages. C
also has had a great influence on many other popular languages,[1] especially [[C++]]
which was originally designed as an enhancement to C. It is the most commonly used
programming languagefor writing system software,[2][3] though it is also widely
used for writing applications. Though not originally designed as a language for
teaching, and despite its somewhat unforgiving character, C is commonly used in
computer science... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The relatively low level nature of the language affords the programmer close
control over what the program is doing, while allowing solutions that can be
specially tailored and aggressively optimized for a particular platform. This allows
the code to run efficiently on very limited hardware, such as mass produced
consumer embedded systems, which today are as capable as the general purpose
machines originally used to implement C.

Does Money Buy Happiness Rhetorical Analysis
The essay Does Money Buy Happiness? by Don Peck and Ross Douthat which was
originally published as the January/February 2003 issue of the Atlantic discusses how
wealthier countries are happier than non wealthy countries, with some exceptions. In
paragraph 2, Peck and Douthat wrote the claim as Money does buy happinessbut only
to a point (332) and justifies by using Robert E. Lane s argument and charts to
support their claim (use of logos). In paragraph 3 4, the authors made assumptions by
saying The fact that richer countries are in general, happier than poorer ones may not
seem terribly surprising, it does suggest that continuing economic development will
generate rising happiness worldwide. That said, there are clear limits to what... Show

Blue Bracket Case Study
A three run home run in the bottom of the seventh by Alex Bishop and an
insurance run in the eighth by UT Tyler spoiled a comeback by the LeTourneau
University baseball team in the opening round game of the 2016 ASC Baseball
Tournament Blue Bracket. The matchup was a rematch of the last two champions
of the American Southwest Conference Tournament. The Patriots (26 15) tied the
game in the sixth at 4, then a three run blast by Bishop over the right field wall put
UT Tyler ahead 7 4. Bishop and the top five in the UT Tyler order accounted for
nine of the 12 hits to support six different pitchers in the win. LeTourneau (15 21)
quickly found itself behind 3 0 in the first inning before scoring twice in the fifth
and sixth inning to take a 4 3 lead. Sophomore Rayne Hobbs had three hits to lead
an eight hit attack for the YellowJackets. Freshman Andrew Harlan was the losing
pitcher after allowing nine hits, seven runs (four earned) and striking out three in the

students must complete to qualify for financial aid such as grants, loans and work

Importance Of Inspectors In An Inspector Calls
An Inspector Calls is a play written by John Priestly in 1945, about a wealthy
family, the Birling s, who is questioned by a mysterious inspector about the suicide
of a young woman, Eva Smith. In the play, Mrs Birling is most to blame for Eva s
suicide, in fact, in the play Eric, her son, blames her for Eva s death, saying Then
you killed her. She came to you to protect me and you turned her away yes, and you
killed her and the child she d have had too my child your own grandchild you killed
them both damn you, damn you . Three major reasons why Mrs Birling is most to
blameare that she refused to help Eva when she was her last hope, she showed no
remorse or blame for her actions, and she blamed others for Eva s death.
The first reason that Mrs Birling is most to blame is that she refused to help Eva
Smith when Eva came to her for help. As a major member of a charity group
designed to help poor woman who needed help, Mrs Birling used her influence to
refuse to help Eva when she came for help. In an Inspector Calls, Mrs Birling says I
wasn t satisfied with the girl s claim...so I used my influence to have it refused. And
in spite of what s happened to the girl since, I consider I did my duty (An Inspector
Calls, pg. 44). Mrs Birling refused to help Eva because she was prejudiced against
her after Eva called herself Mrs Birling. Furthermore, Mrs Birling used her influence
on the charity board to make them refuse Eva help, and she refused to help her even
though she
Why Is Risk Taking Important
From the beginning of mankind to our modern day society, individuals have a
tendency to gape at individuals who put a lot on the line to achieve a desired goal.
Whether it be a Marvel superhero to our local firemen, individuals who put their
well being on the line are placed in a high stature in the eyes of many. We gravitate
to be just like these individuals and are ashamed of becoming viewed as a coward.
This idea is prevalent in people of all ages, backgrounds, and gender and will
continue to motivate us to attain glory by means of taking risks. However, it is
important to know the fine line between taking risks and putting yourself in
inevitable danger. One must be willing to accept the consequence of failure. Some of
the most successful... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although it isn t equivalent to daredevils who bungee jump or skydive, most of what
we do is in the boundaries of risk taking. People start taking risks from the moment
you were born. Babies take the risk that their caregivers will provide them the right
nourishment to prosper. In infants, their first step to walking involved them taking
the risk of falling down. Children take risks of losing whenever they play a game
of competition. High school students take risks when they take standardized
exams such as the SAT which serves as a measuring stick between themselves and
their peers. Adults who apply for a job take the risk of not getting accepted or
eventually fired. Old people take the risk of getting up everyday and face the
possibility of injuring their frail bodies. One of the most risky concept in our
modern day world is sports. Sports attract a huge audiences and unite people of all
backgrounds. However, if you watch sports, you likely have a favorite team. If you
have a favorite team, you are putting your money that your preferred franchise will
win the championship year after year. As a result, if you follow a specific team, you
face the risk of elimination. This exemplifies that the most unifying concepts involve
risk
The Events That Caused The World To Change
The view of the world is continually changing. Different events have happened
throughout history that have caused the view of the world to change. New
discoveries were made along with explorations. Also, new ideas were brought to the
public, and absolutism rose. Through new discoveries and exploration, the
enlightenment, and absolutism, the view of the worldhas changed. Initially, new
discoveries of the world came about through exploration. Europeans were
motivated by gold, God, and glory to begin exploring the world. They were
seeking to find riches, new converts to Christianity, and personal fame. The
Spanish explorers were looking for an all sea trade route and ended up discovering
precious metals which boosted their financial gain. Exploration had a huge impact
on the view of the world. New crops such as potatoes, rice, maize, and tobacco were
discovered. Inflation occurred along with the expansion of the middle class. New

The enlightenment was an intellectual movement throughout the 17th and 18th
centuries involving the natural and social sciences. Four ideas that emerged from the
enlightenment were reason, liberty, happiness, and progress. During this movement
all areas of scientific thought were challenged. The view of astronomy changed after
Copernicus came up with the Heliocentric Theory (the sun was the center of the
universe). Before this theory, everyone believed the earth was the center. Also, the
law of gravity and three laws of motions were brought about by Newton. The
enlightenment thinkers believed in human perfection and human reason. They
distrusted monarchy institutions and the church. The criticized religious customs and
disliked tradition. The enlightenment had a big impact on the view of the British and
French development. It is one of the influences in the French and American
revolutions. The enlightenment definitely impacted the view of the
Theories Of The Nazca Lines
The Mysteries of the Nazca Lines The Nazca Lines discovered in 1939, by Paul
Kosok, are gigantic drawings that cover the Nazca Desert in southern Peru ( The
Nazca Lines , web). It is said that the Nazca people are the creators of these lines, but
when the Nazca people and their culture vanished the Lines were the only things left
behind. Today, many historians and archaeologists are left with this Desert riddle.
There are many theories concerning the Nazca Linesand their origin, what they could
possibly mean and who put them there. There are no exact answers but these theories
and ideas have provided many possibilities that have brought historians closer to
solving the mystery. Although theories of the NazcaDesert drawings include... Show

These theories are the ones that are supported by much evidence and provides a
reasonable explanation to the mysterious meaning of the lines. In the Nazca
Desert, water is a scarce resource, but necessary for their overall survival. The
solution could have been performing these rituals to ask the Gods for rain. A video
by UNESCO explaining some background of the Nazca Lines suggests, Experts
believe the Nazca used to dance along the lines of the geoglyphs when they prayed
for rain, ( Lines and Geoglyphs of Nazca and Pampas de Jumana (UNESCO/NHK)
, web). The dancing of the natives could have been part of a ritual to plead for
water. This was a very important part in their everyday lives because it was their
way of communicating with the Gods and telling them what it is that they needed
to be able to continue. Some of the geoglyphs drawn are the killer whale, spider,
monkey, condor and hummingbird. All of these animals are linked to water and
are important for the Nazca people. The theory of the lines being linked to water is
the most probable that even in other theories like the astronomy ones can be
brought back to having some thing to do with water. The ideas that Maria Reiche
and Paul Kosok studied about an astronomical calendar can be refined to agricultural
clock, as mentioned in Archaeology, The sun enters this region of the horizon at the
time of year late October when water beings to run in the rivers and their
underground canals. If builders of the Nazca Lines had intended to incorporate an
orientation calendar into their complex maze of lineation, we would logically expect
not the solstices or equinoxes to be prominent in the plan, but rather the most
significant times in the agricultural year to be indicated, just as they are at Cuzco,
(Aveni, 39). Eventually, it is revealed in some theories that water has a massive
significance to the meaning and
The International Criminal Court ( Icc )
The most fundamental aspects of the law, whether it be international or domestic is
its abilities to reflect the ideals of justice and impartiality. The International Criminal
Court (ICC) invests itself as a global institute to uphold international interests.
However, it may be argued that the ICC has become affected by political influence,
hindering its position to holistically deal with issues of law. This effect has given rise
to the notion of a current crisis of political will. Although politics may play a
considerable role in the application and functioning of the ICC, the overall
importance of this influence must not be overlooked, considering its inevitability.
The role of the ICC The introduction of the ICC in 2002, given power by the Rome
Statute, has been essential in upholding international obligations, with its power to
open investigations into situations and ultimately prosecute. Although it strives to act
as an independent body in ensuring international justice, its existence is essentially
political . In order for the ICC to have full jurisdiction and proper influence, it is
imperial that nations become state parties of the Rome Statute , whereby the
ratification of the Statute gives grounds to enforce peace and obligations. Through its
introduction, there have been several investigations into situations opened, such as
into the Republic of Congo, with Thomas Lubanga Dylio being issued an arrest
warrant. Despite the power of the ICC, it is subject to
Taking a Look at UAV Ideology
UAV Background It is not widely known that the UAV ideology began long before
the GWOT, but in the past two decades the UAV has become more of a reality with
widespread uses. In February 2001, the first hellfire missile was tested from a
predator UAV (Callam, 2010 para. 7). As everyone who is old enough can
remember that later in 2001 the terror attacks on September 11, 2001 jolted the
U.S. into the GWOT. The demand for unmanned systems skyrocketed because of
the challenging battlefields that U.S. forces found themselves fighting in.
Through the advancement of the GWOT over the past decade and a half the UAV
ideology has thrived and demonstrated its roll in the military fighting force through
surveillance and reconnaissance, attack missions, and through cargo
transportation. Although the attack roll of the UAV has been widely publicized,
scrutinized and is the face of modern warfare, as we now know it today, UAVs
have shown a promising niche in the civilian realm as well. As reported by
uasvision.com (2013) the U.S. Marine Corp has been utilizing unmanned K MAX
helicopters in Afghanistan since early 2012 to deliver external cargo loads up to
4,500 pounds to their remote operating bases and since the program began the two
K MAX helicopters have delivered 3.2 million pounds of cargo (p.1). This type of
technology enables the military to eliminate many hazards and unnecessary risks of
resupply by removing ground convoy operations as well as aerial resupply with

Managed Health Care Issues Essay
When one examines managed health care and the hospitals that provide the care, a
degree of variation is found in the treatment and care of their patients. This variation
can be between hospitals or even between physicians within a health care network.
For managed care companies the variation may be beneficial. This may provide them
with opportunities to save money when it comes to paying for their policy holder s
care, however this large variation may also be detrimental to the insurance company.
This would fall into the category of management of utilization, if hospitals and

younger crowd may see it as the only option (Kongstvedt, 2007). The third and
final category of unwarranted care is supply. The term does not refer to supplies as
in the usage of equipment or tools needed to perform a job. The word supply is
referring to the treatment that is most available is the most often used in regards to
a patient s care. For instance, in a state that the majority of the population is elderly
patients, who use Medicare, will have higher per capita spending for Medicare
patient s than the states that do not have a high population of elderly residence using
Medicare services (Rodwin 1996). With these categories in place, managed health
care organizations can group health care into these categories and establish
parameters for reducing cost and create cost effective utilization of health care
resource to all of their customers. Utilization management was set in place to contain
costs, but one might also assume that by
Difference in Reactions of Sheila Birling and Her Father...
Difference in Reactions of Sheila Birling and Her Father in J.B. Priestley s An
Inspector Calls Coursework. Sheila Birling and her father react totally differently to
the inspector. How far would the audience agree? Author Birling I do agree that
Sheila Birling and her father Author Birling react differently to the inspector. This
shows because when the inspector was talking to Author Birling, he was very
annoyed at the inspector and didn t want to listen to what he had to say, this shows
when Author says to the inspector Look here inspector, im half a mind to report you.
I ve told you all I know and it doesn t seem very important. When Author had said it
doesn t seem very important... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Birling doesn t feel guilty at all about this case, because he doesn t care. This
shows when he says There s nothing mysterious scandalous about this business, at
least im concerned it s happened more then eighteen months ago nearly two years
now, obviously it has nothing to do with the wretched girl suicide. When he says
wretched girl suicide this shows that he never really liked her at all and doesn t
wish to remember her. Birling doesn t think about the links she could have suffered
before he had sacked her. Even when Eric said He could of kept her instead of
throwing her out, I call it tough luck. Mr Birling didn t want to listen to what Eric
as saying because Birling didn t want the blame for this at all and also he didn t
like complaints that other people had against him. When the inspector wants to talk
to Sheila, Mr Birling says Nothing to do with you Sheila, run along now! This
shows that Birling didn t want anyone else involved into this case and he didn t
want to spoil the evening and wanted the inspector to leave. Birling is different to
Sheila because as Sheila finds out about Eva Smith she is very upset and didn t know
that a horrible thing could happen to a young girl. Sheila accepts what has happened
to Eva Smith and wants to find out more about her rather than Birling just wanting to

Ultimatum Game Hypothesis
Paul J. Zak 2009 Testosterone Administration Decreases Generosity in the
Ultimatum Game Related Learning Objectives: 1. To discuss how and why
particular research methods are used in the BLOA 2. To what extent do biological
factors affect human relationship Aim/Hypothesis: Aim: To explore the effect of
testosterone has on male s generosity and their aggression Hypothesis: Excess
testosterone would lead to men being more aggressive and less generous IV: The
testosterone gel/placebo DV: How the participants decide to use their money in the

This removes sources of bias. Demand characteristics were not seen because the
debrief was in detail, and no prediction of the experiment was found. All variables of
this experiment were controlled and hence was synthetic. The levels of testosterone
in all participants were maneuvered by the researcher and the Ultimatum Game was
not an equivalent situation to real life as it was far too simplistic. Therefore, the
experiment lacks mundane realism and ecological validity. The experiment shows
reductionism. The intricate idea of aggression and generosity are studied and a cause
and effect relationship is established between them and testosterone. The amygdala
and hypothalamus play an important role in emotions (aggression). However, there
was no mention of their role in the body nor how it may affect the results in different
ways. Implications: The findings help us understand why men act the way they do. It
may give us reason for why businessmen (taikuns) handle their money the way they
do. Or why it is common for teenage boys to physically bully their
How Surface Conditions Affected Temperature, Moisture,

The objective of this lab was to observe how surface conditions affected Temperature,
moisture, and wind.
II.Methods:
The materials that were used to complete this lab was an instruction packet, probe
thermometer, IR gun, the Kestrel weather instrument, and a finger.
III.Results:
For this lab my classmates and I all had to go to different locations to collect the data
that was needed. Some of us were out in the sun, others were in the shade so we all
got different answers on our sheet. For my location I was out in front of the Center
for Environmental and Life Sciences (CELS). At that location we looked at three sub
location for our data, there were the grass, mulch, and rocks. The sites had many
characteristics but the three that my group choose to focus on was the location had
direct sun light that happened to be shining from the right side. The wind was blowing
at CELS but it felt like it had a tunnel breeze. The last thing that we said was it had
a very diverse landscape. We also gave characteristics for the three sub locations
that we observed. For number one we looked at the grass and it was yellow with
wet soil. Number two was the mulch and it was black, brown, and dry. Number three
was the rocks and they were large, smooth, and greyish. The characteristics of the
three sub locations affected out data in many different ways.
For my three locations the surface temperature was greater than the air temperature. I
would expect that because the surface is absorbing
Mere Seamstress Analysis
Symbolism this in the book is a mirror she doesn t allow mirrors because she is
ugly under her glamor but glamors don t work with mirrors when she finds her
sisters mirror she breaks the glass and bands mirrors in all of luna it is symbolism
it symbolizes her ugliness. The other example is fire it symbolises her tragic
accident and her fear of her sister and the lunar gift.she almost burned to death but
her sister made her live on afraid of somebody finding out her secret.
Foreshadowing foreshadowing occurs when the author gives a clue about what will
happen later in the story, the clue is the at the very beginning of the book when
levana s dream about fire and what had happened to her in the past getting burned by
her sister once her sister ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

he will never love her so she makes a deal with a man from the court he is to kill

as it was the night of the assassination she had cold feet and they had a nice talk but
then the door was open and everett was shot levana stabbed the court member and
ended up being exactly like the person she hated the most someone that had no
regard for someone s life a selfish ruthless person who only did stuff for
Analysis Of Girl With A Pearl Earring
I.The novel s genre is Historical Fiction, the author wrote a fictitious story behind
Johannes Vermeer s painting. The significance of the title is very big because it
displays the main idea of the book and what the author previously wrote about, this
book is based off of the painting, Girl with a pearl Earring. The main idea of the
story is to help others imagine the life of the girl in the painting because in reality,
we don t know much about the girl in the painting. In this book, the author sees her
as Griet, a sixteen year old girl that is forced to work as a maid for the Vermeer s
due to her family s poor economic status. She s very hardworking and independent,
but she soon becomes Johannes assistant, and helps him in his studio. The two
form a bit of a platonic relationship; Griet becomes attracted to his mysterious ways,
and is willing to pose for him, even though she knew there were consequences. This
book s content makes me think that everybody interested in art and in the story
behind the painting Girl with a Pearl Earring will read this book, primarily the
ideal audience of this book is young adults, as well as adults. II.The protagonist is
Griet, she s portrayed as modest, innocent, intelligent, discrete and attentive. She s
modest and discrete because she tries her best to not disturb the peace of the
household at first, she is told that she isn t like other maids because she doesn t
gossip much, or doesn t steal anything from the house. She s very
The History of Eiffel Tower
An icon of Paris, the Eiffel Tower symbolizes the French capital unlike any other
architectural monument. It has become impossible to imagine the city without the
Eiffel Tower, and yet when it was constructed for the Paris World s Fair in 1889, it
was hugely controversial. The iron edifice was originally intended to be a
temporary construction, designed to symbolize French industrial prowess as a
showcase for the World s Fair. Once it served its purpose, Parisian residents hoped
the monumental mass would be torn down. Yet the advent of radio technology
extended the life of Eiffel s tower. As the tallest building in the world at the time, the
structure was readily repurposed as a radio tower.
Eiffel s design could not have been selected for its double role, as radio technology
was not yet a consideration in 1889. Out of the over a hundred other entries into
the World s Fair competition, Eiffel s won in part because of its grandeur and
ostentatiousness. After all, the World s Fair was a showcase to the Industrial Age:
and a way for individual countries to prove their supremacy as technological
powers. The display of technological prowess served distinct cultural roles: such as
the means by which French national identity could become more cohesive. As the
tallest building in the world for nearly 40 years, the Eiffel Towershowed the world
that Paris, France was a hub of progress. Another reason why the design was selected
was because the use of iron represented a revolutionary
Portrait Head Of Caligula Analysis
Portrait Head of Caligula
This bust of Emperor Caligula, was thought to have been made somewhere within
Asia Minor, around the year 40 AD. There is no known record of who sculpted this
bust, and no accurate record of who it was made for or why it was made. It was
sculpted entirely out of marble.
After Caligula was murdered by his guards in 41 AD, almost all recorded statues
and portraits of him were destroyed, as well as a lot of writings that were done about
him. This led to modern day historians having to use later historians writings about
him, which has led to possible inaccuracies and bias about Caligula.

He reigned from 117 AD to 138 AD. Emperor Trajan named him his successor
shortly before dying in 117 AD. Hadrian is considered on the five good Emperors
by many historians, as he was seen to be a humanitarian by most. He was
responsible for the building of Hadrian s Wall in Britannia, as well as rebuilding the
pantheon, and also the construction of the temple of Venus and Roma. Hadrian was
also noticeably philhellene in his tastes, which explains well his desire to make
Greece the cultural capital of the Roman Empire. His love of all things Greek, lead to
the Greek culture being considered one the most popular cults in ancient times.
During his reign, Hadrian travelled to nearly every province within the Empire, as
well as being very involved with the military. He would often wear military uniforms
or armours, and also slept and dined with Roman soldiers.
After Emperor Trajan died in 117 AD, Hadrian quickly secured legitimacy to his
claim to power through endorsement from the Senate and the Syrian armies.
Various public ceremonies were also organized. One specific Egyptian papyri tells
of one such ceremony organized somewhere between 117 118 AD, in which it was
praised that Hadrian had been divinely chosen by his deified father and by the gods
New Horizon Space Project Report
On January 19, 2006 NASA launched the New Horizon Space Probe from Cape
Canaveral Air Force Base in Florida. It soured into space via the Atlas V rocket. The
New Horizon Space Probe is part of the New Frontier Program which was developed
in 2001. This program was designed to explore new frontiers via satellites in our solar
system. The New Horizon Space Probe was sent into space to explore Pluto(at the
time it was considered a planet) and its moons. By the time the probe reached Pluto
the planet was no longer considered a planet. The budget New Horizons was around
$700 million and built by the Southwest Research Institute and Johns hopkins Physics
Research Institute. Along with all the scientific equipment on the prob there were a

This is a Trans Neptunian object or a minor planet. It was discovered in 2014 by
scientists using the Hubble Telescope. There are a few other object which appear to
be gravitationally attracted to one another, making it a contact binary. The orbital
period of these object are about 295 years. New Horizon will come within 3,500
miles of the objects. The New Horizon Mission brought a new information on Pluto
and the surrounding moons. Based on the crater count on Pluto s surface the dwarf
planet has been geologically active the past four billion years. In particular, a
massive ice plan large than Texas named Sputnik Planum shows signs of being
geologically active within the past ten million years. Also Pluto s surface is still
puzzling to scientists as its composition is unlike any of the other Jovian planets.
The surface goes from Nitrogen based to methane based to Oxygen based. In
addition the atmospheric temperature is much colder than what scientists believed,
by about 70 degrees F. Also thanks to the New Horizons probe scientists now
believe they can theorize how Pluto s atmosphere haze layer formed. The process of
its formation is based on atmospheric buoyancy waves or gravity waves. This
affected is caused by the winds blowing over the mountainous surface of Pluto.
Pluto s Moon Charon appeared to have a ancient surface . It was observed in the
Vulcan Planum area of the planets where the once great plans lied. Scientists

Cultural Differences and Global Marketing Cultural differences and global marketingCultural differences and global marketing The progress of humanity and human beings can be attributed to one important factor and that is the strong capability of human beings to understand and adapt to cultural differences. Respecting cultural differences has brought the human beings close together and has tied them in a strong bond. The conquering of the cultural differences has also introduced us to a new terminology, global economy, which is a global system of production, distribution and consumption. Some cultures show an open attitude towards advertisements, while others may not have such an open attitude and may not like to be targeted directly. The advertisements should be created after a careful study of the international market and always by keeping a watchful eye on the cultural differences. The global marketing mixes like product, price, placement and promotion should also be planned on the basis of the cultural differences. The product should be modified based on the taste and the requirements of the particular country being targeted for the sale of the product. The sales will boost up only if the companies keep in mind the demands of the particular culture. The success story of Nissin Food Products Company Ltd. gives us strong evidence that it is necessary to keep in mind the demands of the international market when developing the products. Most of what football players and coaches know about tackling is more instinctive than anything. They understand more about the physics of the process more than they realize. Acceleration, force, mass, momentum, Inertia, torque, velocity, and center of mass are important terms that become relevant when discussing the physics of tackling in football. The amount of substance an object is made up of is the mass. Momentum comes as the result of the product of the mass of a moving object and its velocity. Inertia is the resistance of a moving object to a change in speed or direction, and also the resistance of a stationary object to being moved. Torque

As the men try to find clues for investigating the murder case, the wives of them find and then hide from the men a dead bird which died the same way Mr. Wright did. The canary was Mrs. Wright s pet bird she bought possibly around last year as Mrs. Hale recalls (Glaspell 94). The death of the bird signifies the death of peace, as birds are well known to be symbolic of peace. Also, the bird itself may symbolise Mrs. Wright herself, as she was lively talented singer at first, but then caged in a closed environment (depiction of marriage and housekeeping) and then killed (depiction of her social life outside the house). The quilt, although at the start was so nice and even , has become all over the place by the end of it according to Mrs. Hale (Glaspell 93). The sudden disorder and confusion following straight after a stability and calmness in Mrs. Wright s lifestyle is accurately represented in this particular symbol. This links with Mrs. Hale s more positive image of her before she got married to Mr. Wright, mentioned in the paragraph

I have chosen two commercials, one advertising the Honda Ridgeline and the other marketing the Hyundai Elantra. In the Honda commercial, a farmer tends to his sheep, that start singing as soon as the farmer drives away. The Hyundai commercial is very comical, showing a town where everyone is Ryan Reynolds to catch your attention. These commercials use pathos, ethos, and logos to sell their product. Advertisements use many forms of persuasion to get people to buy their product. One of these is pathos, which appeals to the emotions of the audience and evokes their feelings. In the Honda commercial, one can see sheep in the pasture singing to Somebody to Love after the farmer drives off in his new Honda Ridgeline. This is very humorous, considering sheep do not speak, let alone belt out notes from Queen. Not only are there singing sheep, but there is a talking dog towards the end of the commercial which tells those who are watching about the Honda Ridgeline ( Honda Ridgeline Super Bowl Commercial internet). This is similar to the Hyundai commercial, which is also very amusing. The audience can see two women driving through a neighborhood, where every person is Ryan Reynolds. This shows pathos, because it appeals to the viewers emotions by laughing at the comical commercial ( Ryanville Hyundai Super Bowl internet). Another form of persuasion commercials use is ethos, which appeals to one s ethics. In the

Smith s theory is presented as the starting point of a theoretical development that leads directly to neoclassical trade models. Smith s concerns and ideas are thus aligned with those of neoclassical trade theories. There are a few paintball markers that are held in the style of a rifle, like the Tippmann A 5, Pro /Carbine, or the Armotech SIM 4. But for the most part, markers are built like a large pistol. There are also paintball markers that look like a true pistol, and the differences will be explained shortly. The barrel of a paintball markeris approximately .68 calibers, although it can vary a slight amount depending on the manufacturer. The barrel is connected to the chamber, which holds the paintball inside the marker as it is about to be fired. When the trigger is pulled, high pressure gas is released into the chamber, pushing the ball forward at very high speeds. The ball travels down and out of the barrel, in whatever direction the marker is pointing. Most paintball markers have the air connected in what is called a bottomline setup, where the gas hose comes out of the marker a short distance in front of the trigger assembly, and down to the bottom of the grip. This makes the marker easier to hold because it allows the use of the C02 tank as a stock to brace against one s shoulder. Most of the paintball markers styled as true pistols use a much smaller, disposable C02 cartridge, no bottomline and hold a limited number of rounds. Secondly, the paintball mask. She came to you to protect me and you turned her away yes, and you killed her and the child she d have had too my child your own grandchild you killed them both damn you, damn you . Three major reasons why Mrs Birling is most to blameare that she refused to help Eva when she was her last hope, she showed no remorse or blame for her actions, and she blamed others for Eva s death. These theories are the ones that are supported by much evidence and provides a reasonable explanation to the mysterious meaning of the lines. In the Nazca Desert, water is a scarce resource, but necessary for their overall survival. The solution could have been performing these rituals to ask the Gods for rain. A video by UNESCO explaining some background of the Nazca Lines suggests, Experts believe the Nazca used to dance along the lines of the geoglyphs when they prayed for rain, ( Lines and Geoglyphs of Nazca and Pampas de Jumana (UNESCO/NHK) , web). The dancing of the natives could have been part of a ritual to plead for water. This was a very important part in their everyday lives because it was their way of communicating with the Gods and telling them what it is that they needed to be able to continue. Some of the geoglyphs drawn are the killer whale, spider, monkey, condor and hummingbird. All of these animals are linked to water and are important for the Nazca people. The theory of the lines being linked to water is the most probable that even in other theories like the astronomy ones can be brought back to having some thing to do with water. The ideas that Maria Reiche and Paul Kosok studied about an astronomical calendar can be refined to agricultural clock, as mentioned in Archaeology, The sun enters this region of the horizon at the time of year late October when water beings to run in the rivers and their underground canals. If builders of the Nazca Lines had intended to incorporate an orientation calendar into their complex maze of lineation, we would logically expect not the solstices or equinoxes to be prominent in the plan, but rather the most significant times in the agricultural year to be indicated, just as they are at Cuzco, (Aveni, 39). Eventually, it is revealed in some theories that water has a massive significance to the meaning and

This variation can be between hospitals or even between physicians within a health care network. For managed care companies the variation may be beneficial. This may provide them with opportunities to save money when it comes to paying for their policy holder s care, however this large variation may also be detrimental to the insurance company. This would fall into the category of management of utilization, if hospitals and managed careorganizations can control treatment utilization, they can control premium costs for both themselves and their customers (Rodwin 1996). If health... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The second category is preference (Kongstvedt, 2007). When the term preference is used, what it means in this sense is that there is more than one way to cure the patient. This means that the patient has a choice to make between the specific treatments. The patient s preference to certain treatments defines how utilization management works. Patients in the same region may prefer a single treatment to another or patients of a specific age demographic may opt out of surgery when a younger crowd may see it as the only option (Kongstvedt, 2007). The third and final category of unwarranted care is supply. The term does not refer to supplies as in the usage of equipment or tools needed to perform a job. The word supply is referring to the treatment that is most available is the most often used in regards to a patient s care. For instance, in a state that the majority of the population is elderly patients, who use Medicare, will have higher per capita spending for Medicare patient s than the states that do not have a high population of elderly residence using Medicare services (Rodwin 1996). With these categories in place, managed health care organizations can group health care into these categories and establish parameters for reducing cost and create cost effective utilization of health care resource to all of their customers. Utilization management was set in place to contain costs, but one might also assume that by

Sheila Birling and her father react totally differently to the inspector. How far would the audience agree? Author Birling I do agree that Sheila Birling and her father Author Birling react differently to the inspector. This shows because when the inspector was talking to Author Birling, he was very annoyed at the inspector and didn t want to listen to what he had to say, this shows when Author says to the inspector Look here inspector, im half a mind to report you. I ve told you all I know and it doesn t seem very important. When Author had said it doesn t seem very important... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Birling doesn t feel guilty at all about this case, because he doesn t care. This shows when he says There s nothing mysterious scandalous about this business, at least im concerned it s happened more then eighteen months ago nearly two years now, obviously it has nothing to do with the wretched girl suicide. When he says wretched girl suicide this shows that he never really liked her at all and doesn t wish to remember her. Birling doesn t think about the links she could have suffered before he had sacked her. Even when Eric said He could of kept her instead of throwing her out, I call it tough luck. Mr Birling didn t want to listen to what Eric as saying because Birling didn t want the blame for this at all and also he didn t like complaints that other people had against him. When the inspector wants to talk to Sheila, Mr Birling says Nothing to do with you Sheila, run along now! This shows that Birling didn t want anyone else involved into this case and he didn t want to spoil the evening and wanted the inspector to leave. Birling is different to Sheila because as Sheila finds out about Eva Smith she is very upset and didn t know that a horrible thing could happen to a young girl. Sheila accepts what has happened to Eva Smith and wants to find out more about her rather than Birling just wanting to give

All variables of this experiment were controlled and hence was synthetic. The levels of testosterone in all participants were maneuvered by the researcher and the Ultimatum Game was not an equivalent situation to real life as it was far too simplistic. Therefore, the experiment lacks mundane realism and ecological validity. The experiment shows reductionism. The intricate idea of aggression and generosity are studied and a cause and effect relationship is established between them and testosterone. The amygdala and hypothalamus play an important role in emotions (aggression). However, there was no mention of their role in the body nor how it may affect the results in different ways. Implications: The findings help us understand why men act the way they do. It may give us reason for why businessmen (taikuns) handle their money the way they do. Or why it is common for teenage boys to physically bully their

II.Methods: The materials that were used to complete this lab was an instruction packet, probe thermometer, IR gun, the Kestrel weather instrument, and a finger. III.Results: For this lab my classmates and I all had to go to different locations to collect the data that was needed. Some of us were out in the sun, others were in the shade so we all got different answers on our sheet. For my location I was out in front of the Center for Environmental and Life Sciences (CELS). At that location we looked at three sub location for our data, there were the grass, mulch, and rocks. The sites had many characteristics but the three that my group choose to focus on was the location had direct sun light that happened to be shining from the right side. The wind was blowing at CELS but it felt like it had a tunnel breeze. The last thing that we said was it had a very diverse landscape. We also gave characteristics for the three sub locations that we observed. For number one we looked at the grass and it was yellow with wet soil. Number two was the mulch and it was black, brown, and dry. Number three was the rocks and they were large, smooth, and greyish. The characteristics of the three sub locations affected out data in many different ways. For my three locations the surface temperature was greater than the air temperature. I would expect that because the surface is absorbing

  • 46. Analysis Of Girl With A Pearl Earring I.The novel s genre is Historical Fiction, the author wrote a fictitious story behind Johannes Vermeer s painting. The significance of the title is very big because it displays the main idea of the book and what the author previously wrote about, this book is based off of the painting, Girl with a pearl Earring. The main idea of the story is to help others imagine the life of the girl in the painting because in reality, we don t know much about the girl in the painting. In this book, the author sees her as Griet, a sixteen year old girl that is forced to work as a maid for the Vermeer s due to her family s poor economic status. She s very hardworking and independent, but she soon becomes Johannes assistant, and helps him in his studio. The two form a bit of a platonic relationship; Griet becomes attracted to his mysterious ways, and is willing to pose for him, even though she knew there were consequences. This book s content makes me think that everybody interested in art and in the story behind the painting Girl with a Pearl Earring will read this book, primarily the ideal audience of this book is young adults, as well as adults. II.The protagonist is Griet, she s portrayed as modest, innocent, intelligent, discrete and attentive. She s modest and discrete because she tries her best to not disturb the peace of the household at first, she is told that she isn t like other maids because she doesn t gossip much, or doesn t steal anything from the house. She s very
  • 47. The History of Eiffel Tower An icon of Paris, the Eiffel Tower symbolizes the French capital unlike any other architectural monument. It has become impossible to imagine the city without the Eiffel Tower, and yet when it was constructed for the Paris World s Fair in 1889, it was hugely controversial. The iron edifice was originally intended to be a temporary construction, designed to symbolize French industrial prowess as a showcase for the World s Fair. Once it served its purpose, Parisian residents hoped the monumental mass would be torn down. Yet the advent of radio technology extended the life of Eiffel s tower. As the tallest building in the world at the time, the structure was readily repurposed as a radio tower. Eiffel s design could not have been selected for its double role, as radio technology was not yet a consideration in 1889. Out of the over a hundred other entries into the World s Fair competition, Eiffel s won in part because of its grandeur and ostentatiousness. After all, the World s Fair was a showcase to the Industrial Age: and a way for individual countries to prove their supremacy as technological powers. The display of technological prowess served distinct cultural roles: such as the means by which French national identity could become more cohesive. As the tallest building in the world for nearly 40 years, the Eiffel Towershowed the world that Paris, France was a hub of progress. Another reason why the design was selected was because the use of iron represented a revolutionary
  • 48. Portrait Head Of Caligula Analysis Portrait Head of Caligula This bust of Emperor Caligula, was thought to have been made somewhere within Asia Minor, around the year 40 AD. There is no known record of who sculpted this bust, and no accurate record of who it was made for or why it was made. It was sculpted entirely out of marble. After Caligula was murdered by his guards in 41 AD, almost all recorded statues and portraits of him were destroyed, as well as a lot of writings that were done about him. This led to modern day historians having to use later historians writings about him, which has led to possible inaccuracies and bias about Caligula. He reigned from 117 AD to 138 AD. Emperor Trajan named him his successor shortly before dying in 117 AD. Hadrian is considered on the five good Emperors by many historians, as he was seen to be a humanitarian by most. He was responsible for the building of Hadrian s Wall in Britannia, as well as rebuilding the pantheon, and also the construction of the temple of Venus and Roma. Hadrian was also noticeably philhellene in his tastes, which explains well his desire to make Greece the cultural capital of the Roman Empire. His love of all things Greek, lead to the Greek culture being considered one the most popular cults in ancient times. During his reign, Hadrian travelled to nearly every province within the Empire, as well as being very involved with the military. He would often wear military uniforms or armours, and also slept and dined with Roman soldiers. After Emperor Trajan died in 117 AD, Hadrian quickly secured legitimacy to his claim to power through endorsement from the Senate and the Syrian armies. Various public ceremonies were also organized. One specific Egyptian papyri tells of one such ceremony organized somewhere between 117 118 AD, in which it was praised that Hadrian had been divinely chosen by his deified father and by the gods

The New Horizon Space Probe is part of the New Frontier Program which was developed in 2001. This program was designed to explore new frontiers via satellites in our solar system. The New Horizon Space Probe was sent into space to explore Pluto(at the time it was considered a planet) and its moons. It was discovered in 2014 by scientists using the Hubble Telescope. There are a few other object which appear to be gravitationally attracted to one another, making it a contact binary. The orbital period of these object are about 295 years. New Horizon will come within 3,500 miles of the objects. The New Horizon Mission brought a new information on Pluto and the surrounding moons. Based on the crater count on Pluto s surface the dwarf planet has been geologically active the past four billion years. In particular, a massive ice plan large than Texas named Sputnik Planum shows signs of being geologically active within the past ten million years. Also Pluto s surface is still puzzling to scientists as its composition is unlike any of the other Jovian planets. The surface goes from Nitrogen based to methane based to Oxygen based. In addition the atmospheric temperature is much colder than what scientists believed, by about 70 degrees F. Also thanks to the New Horizons probe scientists now believe they can theorize how Pluto s atmosphere haze layer formed. The process of its formation is based on atmospheric buoyancy waves or gravity waves. This affected is caused by the winds blowing over the mountainous surface of Pluto. Pluto s Moon Charon appeared to have a ancient surface . It was observed in the Vulcan Planum area of the planets where the once great plans lied. Scientists
