Exemplification Essay Outline
Writing an essay on the topic of "Exemplification Essay Outline" can pose a unique set of
challenges. The difficulty lies in the need to not only understand the concept of an
exemplification essay but also to effectively structure and present the information in a coherent
and convincing manner.
To start, one must have a clear understanding of what an exemplification essay entails. This type
of essay requires the writer to provide examples or evidence to support a generalization or point.
Crafting an outline for such an essay requires careful consideration of the main thesis, identifying
key examples, and organizing them logically.
The challenge comes in selecting relevant and compelling examples that not only illustrate the
point but also contribute to the overall coherence of the essay. Striking the right balance between
the generalization and specific instances is crucial to ensure that the essay is informative and
persuasive.
Additionally, crafting a well-structured outline demands attention to detail. Each section of the
essay, from the introduction to the conclusion, needs to flow seamlessly, guiding the reader
through the argument. Maintaining a logical progression of ideas is essential to avoid confusion
and ensure that the examples build upon each other effectively.
Moreover, the writer must possess strong analytical and critical thinking skills to evaluate and
select the most relevant examples. This requires a deep understanding of the topic and the ability
to discern which examples best support the thesis.
In conclusion, writing an exemplification essay on its outline is a challenging task that demands
a combination of analytical skills, creativity, and organizational prowess. However, with careful
planning and attention to detail, one can craft a compelling essay that effectively uses examples
to support and illustrate the main points.
For those who find this task overwhelming, it's worth noting that assistance is available. Similar

Detroit s Rebellious History
Detroiter or Philosopher?
A Closer Look into Detroit s Rebellious History
I received the opportunity to interview one of my father s close friends and business
partners, Mr. Joseph E. Hutchison Sr., for the purposes of exploring how he
perceived the Detroit riots of 1697. Mr. Hutchison is an African American man,
which has lived in multiple neighborhoods throughout Detroit all his life, and has
raised a family in the city as well. Furthermore, Mr. Hutchison has a funeral home on
Detroit s East Side, which has been thriving for more than forty years. Moreover, he
has a love for the city, no matter what condition the city is in. Pursuing this idea
further, Hutchison has experienced about three race riots throughout his life, in which

Hutchison, so that I could understand what his early life was like. This aided me in
examining the effects of the riots on his perception of Detroit, as well as his life
after the rebellion. Some useful background information about Mr. Hutchison is
that he was born and raised in the city of Detroit, as well as raising a family within
the city, and starting Hutchison Funeral Home on the East Side of Detroit. When I
asked about his first job in Detroit, he explained that he provided multiple services
throughout his neighborhood, such as a paper route, scrubbing floors, and
carrying groceries. I thought it would be beneficial to know about what time Mr.
Hutchison moved out of his childhood home, he replied, On Elmhurst St. That s
Central Detroit. I then inquired about his age around the time of the riots, and he
explained, Take your calculator out *laughs* I was born in 1932; 42, 52, 62...
About 35/36 years of age. Mr. Hutchison explained that around the time of the riots,
he was a working man as well as a family man, and did not go out often, nor did he
participate in the riots. In addition to this, I asked Mr. Hutchison what his work life
was like in the 1960 s, he responded, I was working for the Excel Corporation. They
made aircraft parts. 1 then asked him about what the racial demographic of this
corporation, and he explained, Basically Caucasians. Finally, I asked about the ethnic
makeup of the neighborhood that himself

programs to the school. In June 1973, he was recognized by the school community
and received the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Citation for his Humanitarian quality ,
good moral character, and for excellence in performance.
After serving over thirty years as an educator, Joseph retired from his school
principle position in 1983 and became a consultant for the New York City s Board of
Examiners.
Along with his role as an academic educator, Joseph was deeply involved with his
local church, (Bethel Holy Church), as well as the New York New England District
of Mount Sinai church organization. After answering his call to the ministry in
December of 1964, Joseph became an ordained Elder in 1969, and was eventually
consecrated to the Bishopric in 1974.
Assisting his father, Bishop James Bell, with his responsibilities at the church,
Joseph served as the General Secretary on the church organization s Board of
Directors from 1982 to 2000. He was then elected as the President of the Mount Sinai
Holy Church of America, Inc., an organization with over 100 churches worldwide. He

The Demand For Money Has Been An Essential Part Of
Economics
I.Introduction
The demand for money has been an essential part of economics from the beginning of
economics, even though minimal attention was given to it before the 1920s. This
apparent lack of thought appears to have dramatically changed since the Great
Depression of early 1930 s. These crises have lured special attention in monetary
theory and consequently an equally particular attention has been focused on the
demand for money. Today, over sixty years after these crises, interest on the causation
of the failure of governments and depression, and the monetary authorities to prevent
it happening. This importance rises to a crest whenever the economy of other
countries declines or when our domestic economy enters a recession and/or
depression. These events can raise issues such as what are the duties of monetary
policy in causing an international or domestic economic boom or recession, who
holds money, and why is it held? The debate usually centers on whether effortless
or strict monetary policies are preferable. Strictly speaking, should credit and
money be ample and cheap or limited and overpriced? These controversies call for
an applicable analysis of how money is used and the functioning of monetary policy
instruments. This is more so for developing countries where they face problems of
growth and development and appear to be of a precise nature and are tied down by
structural rigidities and bottlenecks. The problem in the developing countries is how

The reason for choosing this article is because it discusses the relations between
international business partners America China and highlights their role as global
business organzaitions. The relation between China and America is a critical issue
these days for the International Chamber of Commerce or as called World Business
Organization and members of opposing parties are fighting for their interest. This
article also explains the business behaviour of these two business partners related to
exports, incomes and other activities that have impacted the business environment
globally.
The author highlights in this article the issue of China s trade imbalance.
According to author, the trade imbalance of China is now vanishing, which he has
proved by evidences. The initial paragraphs of the article explain how some policy
makers and economists of America blames China and holds it responsible for its
Trade Deficit (Trade and Forfaiting Review, 2012). Indeed Americans want to
Punish China for hooking the exchange rate to the dollar in 2005, in order to
subsidize exports, which resulted in big trade surplus that cost the jobs of America

Risk And A Form Of Linguistic Imperialism
The term risk has been defined in so many ways by many scholars. The term risk
itself is very broad to interpret. However, risk is often defined as a threat and it
usually brings negative impacts to a person or an organisation. Hansson (2005)
claims that many attempts have been made to define risk in a single meaning and
eliminate other definitions which are futile and a form of linguistic imperialism .
Since there is no exact meaning of risk, people describe risk based on their own
perceptions and purposes. Perminova et al. (2008) and the Association of Project
Management (APM) define risk as an uncertain event and exclusively negative (APM,
2006). Ward and Chapman (2003) recommend that project risk management(PRM) is
categorized as project uncertainty management. Nonetheless, the term uncertainty
again brings confusion as there is no single meaning that can successfully define it
(Perminova et al., 2008). On the contrary, Kaplan and Garrick (1981) define risk
according to public s risk perception. There are three criteria suggested by the
authors such as the failure of that particular event, its tendency as well as the impact
of the failure. Although there have been countless struggles to picture risk in a
proper way, it is best that the focus should be diverted to a more important issue
which is how to manage risk instead of defining it as time may not be on our side.
Apart from the confusing issue of defining what risk really means, authors find
themselves very
Positive Classroom Management
A. The teacher classroom manages the classroom in an extremely positive manner,
and is strong on positive reinforcements. When she speaks to her students, her voice
is soft and calm which allows her students to remain calm to correct their behavior.
Students are aware of the classroom expectations and the proper behavior when they
are working with other students. When the class is transitoning between activities
she is clear with what they are expected to do, and how it should look like. When
the whole class is not able to complete the task she does ask them to correct the
behavior and allows them a second opportunity to successfully transition. Positive
classroom management shows that students behave in a positive way and are less

The established procedure for students to use the bathroom was to raise two fingers
in the air crossed together. Only two students were allowed to go to the bathroom at
the same time to avoid having a large amount of students playing inside of the
bathroom.
F. The procedure for sharpening pencilwas the responsibility of students to have a
couple of pencils ready in their pencil box. When they needed a new pencil, they take
their old pencil to the jar with dual pencil and take one pencil from the jar with
sharpened pencils. Establishing a successful procedure eliminated disruption of
sharpening pencils during class.
G. Students are responsible for completing class assignments and homework at the
schedule time. When they are working on in class assignments, the way they show
their teachers they have completed their assignment is by reading a book and taking
out their star card. When they receive their star they turn in the form with the table
leader, and the team leaders job is to collect everyone at their tables assignments at

with the same procedure, but instead of the table leader places all the homework
he or she has collected to the back table. The procedures for collecting assignment
is placed in the responsibility of the table leader, and every week a new table leader
is assigned to give every student an opportunity to have the
Why Soccer Is Better Than Other Countries
Waking up early in the morning to go the soccer field and get a whiff of fresh cut
grass, paint, and the unpleasant smell of some soccer socks being put on to be
ready for a match. Some people may have played soccer in their younger days and
can understand the enjoyment. Some people are committed to the sport and others
may have played a few years because their parents made them to. There is nothing
wrong with playing soccer, but to know that they were a part of an amazing
experience. This is a very popular sport around to world and is called football to
other countries, but is called soccer in the United States. A lot of differences in how

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are players who are soon to become legends for
their countries.
Many people enjoy the game of soccer whether they are playing or just watching.
There are many competitions and other platforms to watch a decent soccer match.
Competitions like the Champions League, Euros, Copa America, Gold Cup, etc.
Many fans tuned in to watch the 2014 FIFA World Cupin Brazil. Fans from all over
the world tune in to witness the greatest tournament to be competed at a high level.
The entire World Cup reached 3.2 billion viewers, and the final game had around one
million viewers watching live (2014 FIFA World Cup, 2015). Others enjoy to play
the sport as well. People enjoy the game of soccer whether it is playing for fun or
competing in the World Cup. Fans that play want to imitate their favorite players
moves. Children watching the pros work their magic during the World Cup, doing
fancy tricks or scoring crazy goals makes kids go out with a ball and copy what
they saw. Players like Ronaldo and Messi do things that make child look up to
them. A study from a survey conducted by FIFA in 2007 found that 265 million
people are playing soccer (Kunz, 2007). Players play to sometimes relieve
themselves from a tense situation in the real world. So, as they play, they seem to

Feminist Critical Lens Of Shakespeare s Othello
Feminist critical lens examines certain texts with a primary focus on both gender s
relationship with each other and how such relationships demonstrate effects towards
beliefs, behaviors, and values. This critical lens also examines a patriarchal centered
society and how such society define and interact with women with an emphasis on
stereotypes of both genders that are present and evident in the text being analyzed.
William Shakespeares Othellocan be scrutinized through the feminist critical lens. A
deep analysis focused on feminism of the play Othello paves way for the judgement
of different societal status of women in the period when the play took place, the
Elizabethan society. Othello is a best fit that demonstrates how men were... Show

In a deep analysis, this phrase best explains the expectation of a women in Venice
that they are supposed to agree in accordance of all their husband s will and use
them in any way their husbands wish to utilize them. Furthermore, the capacity of
women as connected to marriage was portrayed by the sweet message that came
from the lips of Othello to Desdemona. Come, my dear love. The purchase has
made, the fruits are ensue; The profit s yet to come tween me and you (Act II,
Scene 2, Line 8 10, Page 100). With this statement, it can be said that purchase and
marriage are synonymous. If the message is read between the lines, it can be
inferred that Othello purchased or bought Desdemona and she is anticipated to
meet the sexual pleasures that Othello need or want. Tied to women perceived as
possessions is their personal assumed characteristic of being passive. Second, the
play Othello paid deep attention to women possessing the personality of being
submissive. There are countless pieces of evidence from the play that strongly
suggest that women are submissive. One is when after Othello said his farewell
words to end his conversation with Desdemona in the garden of the castle.
Desdemona have said What e er you be, I am obedient (Act III, Scene 3, Line 89,
Page 144). She claimed that she is amenable and continue to accommodate all of
Othello s instructions and commands and she wishes to follow
R V. Buzizi Case Analysis
Reasonable people will generally go a long distance to protect their loved ones.
However, most reasonable people would believe that killing someone else in order
to protect their loved ones would be immoral and harmful. In the case of R v.
Buzizi [2013], a man killed another in a supposed effort to protect his cousin. On an
early morning in MontrГ©al, the accused s cousin and the victim ensued in a brawl.
The initial fight was broken up by a third party. A few moments later, the accused,
Mr. Buzizi, who saw the initial assault from afar, intervened and pushed the victim.
Then, Mr. Buzizi noticed that the victim had an exacto knife, and that his cousin had
a serious wound on his neck. For fear that the victim was going to pull out the... Show

Thus, in order to prove manslaughter through the defense of provocation, the
subjective fault element of second degree murder must not be present. Section 232
(2) of the Criminal Code states that in the case of provocation the accused [acts]
[...] on the sudden and before there [is] time for their passion to cool . This means
that, in order for provocation to exist, the accused must not have had the necessary
guilty knowledge with respect to the course of action they were taking. In Buzizi s
case, this subjective condition for manslaughter is not satisfied, and the subjective
fault element for second degree murder still exists. At trial, the accused revealed
that he had a significant degree of knowledge as to what he was doing during the
altercation. For instance, when the accused testified, he stated that when the victim
tried to pick up the exacto knife after dropping it, this is when he decided to grab
the victim by his sweater and stab him (R v. Buzizi 248 blah 47). This establishes
that Buzizi not only knew precisely what he did to the victim, but it also establishes
that he knew his motivation for doing so, which was that he was afraid of the
potentiality for the victim to attack him with the knife. During his testimony, Buzizi
David Wesley s Five Healthy Patterns
The argument/thesis/main idea of the book David Wesley s main idea is a set of best
practices, or what he terms healthy patterns, in congregational mission partnerships.
Wesley observes that in the emerging third way of missions that began at the end of
the 20th century and is coming into its own in the early 21st century is focusing on
congregational partnerships. As such, Wesley seeks to lay out common patterns for
healthy global partnerships observed in these congregational partnerships.
Consequently, Wesley presents five healthy patterns around which common mission
can flourish.

A pattern of reciprocity is a partnership that includes mutually reinforcing activities
that allow each partner to teach and learn from one another that avoids dependency
and paternalism. Wesley interacts with the work of Philip Thomas and his typology
of communication moving from one direction relationships to transformative
relationships. However, Wesley concludes with Yoshikawa s dialogical relationship
model that describes a synthesis of the donor and recipient into something greater
than the sum of its parts. This is the pinnacle of congregational partnerships where
reciprocity becomes the very nature of the relationship and challenges the approaches
traditionally taken by denominations and mission

A Short Note On Combat Mission Ready ( Cmr ) Pilots...
B 2 Combat Mission Ready (CMR) pilots require a Companion Trainer Program
(CTP) to increase peacetime and tactical airmanship and combat readiness. The T
38A is currently flown at Whiteman AFB, Mo, as part of a CTP. As the T 38A
continues to age out, Whiteman AFB will be required to find a suitable replacement
trainer. Although there have been some measures taken to extend the service life of
the T 38A, there has been continuous issues regarding maintenance due to the age of
the aircraft. While there have been other studies performed on this topic, they have

While other units have upgraded, Whiteman has taken measures to extend the T
38A service life, but continuously been faced with maintenance issues and part
availability for an aging aircraft. The studies that have been accomplished have
validated the overall need for companion trainers, however, there has been limited
studies conducted that focused on the tactical relevance of a companion trainer.
This study builds on the previous requirements defined for a B 2 companion
trainer, and adds tactical requirements in order to recommend a solution that
achieves both objectives. The Nature of the Problem This research is necessary
because T 38s are aging out at all units. The T 38A at Whiteman AFB, MO,
currently reaches its end of service life in 2028. Currently, the B 2s end of service
is 2058, which highlights the urgent requirement for a replacement trainer. B 2
pilots fly limited sorties due to the size of the B 2 fleet and the nature of stealth
aircraft. Stealth aircraft require specific Low Observable (LO) maintenance which
is both time consuming and costly. Due to the limited sorties, B 2 pilots have
utilized a CTP since 1993 to provide additional time necessary for crews to
maintain flight currency and continue to develop airmanship skills . In 2011, an
independent study was performed by Michal Polidor on the validity of a CTP for the
B 2 community. That study did validate the need for a CTP at Whiteman, largely

Analysis Of The Play A Doll s House
The period of the nineteenth century until the twentieth century was viewed as a
patriarchal male society and female dependence; women had to obey men because
in most cases men held all the resources and women had no independent means of
subsistence. Women were solely controlled by the society crafted by men and
expected to act as a feminine ideal of that period, in addition, womenwere supposed
to live a highly restrictive life with their life centered round their husband and
subsequently their children. Although, women were supposed to be treated with
respect by men, most men viewed women as weak and having no ability to perform
any task. In the play A Doll s House the character Nora shows how these expectations
affect her behavior which reflect her desire to change the traditional genderroles in the
demanding society she was obligated to adhere to. When a couple got married in
this period her property was now her husband s and as a result, married women
were barred from making contracts, appearing as witnesses in court, and initiating
lawsuits. Nora like the wives of her time had to subject to her husband and Nora is
often treated as a superior servant not as an equal; therefore, she lives without self
identity and gender equality.
At the beginning of the play, Nora appears to be a silly, naive, childish girl, but then
the reader learns that she has made a great sacrifice to save her husband s life by
borrowing money. Nora acts this way because that is how her husband
The Storm by Kate Chopin
The first thing I noticed about Kate Chopin s The Storm, is that it is utterly
dripping with sexual imagery and symbolism. Our heroine, if you will, seems to be
a woman with normally restrained passions and a well defined sense of propriety,
who finds herself in a situation that tears down her restraint and reveals the vixen

Calypso the nymph from Greek mythology. If half of the sexual symbolism I found

It s no secret that storms bring a unique energy, something that is almost primal in
nature. Animals react to coming storms because of this energy, I once had a cat who
would pounce all over the house in the hours before a storm arrived, when the storm
hit, he would sprint from room to room, his tail bushed out like a bottle brush and
his pupils so large you couldn t see the iris. As the storm builds in its fervor and
ferocity, tension and passion build between Calixta and AlcГ©e to match. It begins
with the gusts of wind that threatened to snatch away the clothing that was outside,
hence AlcГ©e grabbing the trousers, and follows as the water beat in upon the
boards in driving sheets, then the rain beat upon the low, shingled roof with a
force and clatter that threatened to break an entrance (Chopin 336). The language
grows more telling in that just after there is mention of something threatening to
break an entrance, Chopin describes Calixta s bedroom. The fact that it adjoins the
room they re in is completely unnecessary, unless there s a reason for the reader to
be aware of the bedroom. As the storm rolls on, Calixta goes to the window where
she stands when the lightning bolt strikes a tree in the field. Lightning is a glorified
spark, I believe this symbolizes the spark of passion renewed in both of our adulterers

My Story Of The School Year Of 2010-2011
My story begins in the school year of 2010 2011. I was a fifth grader, eleven years
of age, at Santa Fe 5/6 Center. As per requirements we had to take a music class,
and I knew that I could not sing, so an instrument it was. Most of that year I spent
experimenting with wind and string instruments to find out if I belonged in band or
orchestra. I was never really interested in any of the wind instrument so I atleast
knew I was going to be in orchestra. The year ended with me being skeptical to if I
should play an instrument or not.
With the next school year approaching fast I had to make my decision. A few days
before sixth grade started, Santa Fe hosted a little music assembly for the students
and their parents to come and enjoy music and also to provide instruments for the
students to try out and possibly buy. I remember walking around a tad bit nervous
looking for an instrument and that s when I heard someone start playing the cello. I
turned to look and saw a man, Mr. Stanley, who later I found out was my cello
teacher, playing the cello. He played so beautifully it inspired me. The warm, rich
tone of the cello filled the room and I remember almost everyone stopped what they
were doing just to listen to him play. I think mother saw the glint in my eyes when I
first listened to the cello and she knew that was my choice. After Mr. Stanley s little
performance was done, I approached him and bombarded him with questions. In the
end Mother ended up buying a three fourths
Essay The Red Tent by Diamant
The Red Tent by Diamant
In Diamant s powerful novel The Red Tent the ever silent Dinah from the 34th
chapter of Gensis is finally given her own voice, and the story she tells is a much
different one than expected. With the guiding hands of her four mothers , Leah,
Rachel, Zilpah, and Bilhah, all the wives of Jacob, we grow with Dinah from her
childhood in Mesoptamia through puberty, where she is then entered into the red tent
, and well off into her adulthood from Cannan to Egypt. Throughout her journey we
learn how the red tent is constantly looked upon for encouragement, solace, and
comfort. It is where women go once a month during menstration, where they have
their babies, were they dwell in illness and most importantly, where ... Show more

This act is translated into todays concept of rape, but as the narrative continues we
see how Shechem tries to justify his manner by claiming he fell victim to love.
Being drawn to Dinah, daughter of Jacob, and in love with the maiden, he spoke to
the maiden tenderly (Genesis 34:3). This, however, is not admissible in the eyes of
Israel s men. Shechem s behavior is considered an outrage in Israel...a thing not to
be done , and therefore, hinders Shechem s aspiration of marriage to her (Genesis
34:7). One of the ways he is able to seek mercy is by offering Dinah s brothers and
father a high bride price. This offering along with a promise for all men to be
circumcised in accordance with God s command to their grandfather Abraham:
This is my covenant between Me and you and your offspring to follow which you
shall keep: every male among you shall be circumcised, is a fitting plea to their
ears and Dinah is wed off (Genesis 17:10). But what about Dinah s ears? Who is to
say that she wants to marry this man who defiled her? What is her view on it all?
Ironically, there is no mention of Dinah s feelings or thoughts throughout Genesis 34.
All the attention focuses not on Dinah, but the men around her. The one who is
affected the most throughout this whole ordeal is somehow left in the shadow.
There even is no reference to how she succumbs to being raped, and later deceived by
her own blood.

Us Subprime Mortgage Crisis Essay
The Global Economic Environment
EMBA 683 Fall 2011
Case: U.S. Subprime Mortgage Crisis Policy Reactions
1) What are the causes behind the U.S. Subprime mortgage crisis? Is one cause more
responsible than another?
The first and more important factor that lead to the subprime mortgage crisis was
governments creation of Freddie and Fannie. This move by the government to
intercede the private financial industry sector eventually lead to the US government
being the largest lender of mortgages in the US. In addition to the flawed notion that
government should determine who and how a borrow qualifies for mortgage loan is
disconcerting in and of itself, but this also marked a fundamental change in banks

All of the innovated financial instruments mentioned above allowed individuals that
would have never been able to qualify for a mortgage in the past to enter the
market. This surge of new home buyers into the market created a spiraling effect
that now leaves are market in an excess supply of homes, and a failed mortgage
system that was created and still subsidized by the tax payers as we continue to
bailout Freddie and Fannie.
2) What has the Fed done with regard to monetary policy to address the economic
downturn resulting from the subprime crisis? What is your assessment of how Ben
Bernake has handled the situation?
The Fed implemented several strategies in an attempt to stabilize the economy by
first targeting the struggling Financial Industry. The first move by Bernake was to
reduce the target funds rate to 0 0.25% in an attempt to provide liquidity to the banks
that needed it. Benake also increased government spending by building up their
balance sheet with the assets that were currently frozen in the capital markets, such
as mortgage backed securities. The Fed believed that by purchasing these assets from
the banks it will remove the assets from the banks but also recreate a market for these
type of financial instruments, which would ultimately help the housing industry as
well. To help illustrate Benake s monetary policy philosophy and actions are best
summarized by the following quote, people know that inflation erodes the real
Brutus Ethos In Julius Caesar
In, The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, Brutus believes the actions and decisions he
makes are justified. He makes it clear that, in his opinion, Caesar should not
become king because he would not be able to hold the qualities of someone with
that great amount of power. In order to convince the Plebeians to side with him,
Brutus uses a variety of rhetorical appeals to persuade them. Throughout Brutus
speech he uncovers his ethics and beliefs on Caesar possibly being crowned king.
Brutus states, It must be by death; and for my part I know no personal cause to
spurn at him, But for the general (2.1.10 12). Brutus elucidates the fact that Caesar
needs to be killed for the help of Rome and how he has no personal reasons, related
to their friendship, to kill him. Another example where Brutus shows his morals on
Caesar is when he says, But when he once attains the upmost round, He then unto
the ladder turns his back; Looks in the clouds, scorning the base degrees By which
he did ascend (2.1.24 27). Brutus explicates that if Caesar were to be crowned king
and obtain all the power he would turn his back against the Plebeians and not follow
his word. Both of these are examples of ethos because... Show more content on

Brutus states that he did not chose to kill Caesar because he loved him less, it is
the fact that he loved Rome more. Another example where Brutus shows sentiment
in his speech is when he says, There is tears for his love; joy for his fortune, honour
for his valour; and death for his ambition (3.1.25 27). Brutus explains the different
ways the Plebeians and himself feel after Caesar s death. They are upset because of
his strong love for Rome, happy because he is out of misery, and honored because
of his great strength. These are both instances where pathos is being used because
Brutus opens up and shows his true emotion on how him and the Plebeians feel after

Case Study Ryanair
Ryanair The Low Fares Airline Case Analysis
Issues
In 1985, the Ryan family founded Ryanair to provide airline services between
Ireland and the United Kingdom. Ryanair s strategy is based on providing a no
frills service with low fares to stimulate demand. Ryanair s business level strategy is
cost leadership. Although the firm faces weaknesses and threats, their strategy has
created a competitive advantage. Ryanair s competitive advantage will weaken over
time due to vulnerability to fuel prices, ancillary charges, low employee satisfaction
and their negative brand image.
Analysis
Porter s Five Forces analysis is a tool to analyze the external environment in which an
industry operates. In the European airline industry, the threat of new entrants is low.
Entrants will need high capital investments to compete with existing firms. The
substitutes in the airline industry are the railway networks, rental cars and sea
transports. Rental cars and sea transports are more expensive than the airlines
therefore they don t pose a threat to the industry. It takes longer to reach a
destination by train than a plane, which causes the threat of railways be low.
Existing firms pose a threat to the industry because there are 35 firms operating in
the European airline industry, which creates intense price rivalry among firms.
Customers are price sensitive and customer can easily switch to another airline
causing the threat of buyers to be high. Suppliers can charge a high price for their
Stand up comedy industry Essay
Title Stand up comedy industry
Thesis 1: From an industrial organization point of view, the stand up comedy market
structure in the 1980s can be characterized as an oligopoly
The structure of a market, thus how a market is functioning, is the concept behind the
industrial organization theory . The Industrial Organization (IO) theory is about, how
a structure of a market has an influence on the strategy and decision making of a
company. 1 The theory therefore focusses on the market wherein the company
operates and links the decisions of the company to the market. In the economic theory
of industrial organisation, an industry can be defined according to several different
criteria.2 According to Throsby, there are three... Show more content on

In 1975 such a diachronic dialectic was found for the first time in de music industry
by Peterson and Berger. They saw an active interaction/connection between small and
large firms, which influenced the market. While the large firms were competing with
each other, niches opened up and were filled by smaller firms.
But unlike the music industry and the American film industry (Mezias Mezias, 2000),
there is not a diachronic dialectic between small firms and large firms in the stand up
comedy industry.
According to the resource partitioning theory, a theory conceptualized by Caroll in
1985, this dialectic exists when the big firms are competing with each other. Just a
few of these generalists survive and they move forward toward the centre of the
market. Because of this movement small pockets of resources open up, where smaller
firms can thrive (Vermeulen Bruggeman, 2000).
However, in the stand up comedy industry it is difficult to underestimate large and
small firms, instead we distinguish comedians and the media they use to reach their
audience. Hence it weren t large firms causing the opening of the niches for smaller
firms. Instead it has been the increase of the use of media over the past couple
decades that has stimulated the creative industry of stand up comedy.

Evil Within the World, Depicted in J.R.R. Tolkien s The...
Since the dawn of time, mankind has been plagued with the ever existing evils of
the world. From the first murder by Cain to the opening of Pandora s Box, the
concept of evil has permeated itself into the societies and cultures of the world
throughout time. However, in a world of darkness we stand not alone. For wherever
evil dwells, the forces of good are always likewise present to maintain the balance:
right? In today s western world we often take this widely accepted belief for granted.
After all, for every super villain there is always a hero, and for every damsel in
distress there is always a happy ending, or at least that is what the media would
have you believe. What I begin to see as I delve further in to the concept of good and

In a setting so contaminated by the evils of the world, how could an innocent little
hobbit actually emerge as a character that has truly progressed for the better as most
think? This brings us to the final impending question. Is there truly good in the world
according to J.R.R. Tolkien in The Hobbit? This idea of good in the world has often
been explored within countless pieces of literature and has marked itself as a truly
meaningful concept to be evaluated. The main questions spurring from this
concept, which are often explored, usually concern the presence of good and evil
within a situation or setting. Building upon this I myself have chosen the concepts
of good and evil for which I am to base my milieu. This milieu is to be expanded
upon in my evaluation of The Hobbit and will be explored in terms of presence and
sense of conformity to both the Boethian and Manichaean ideologies. I have
chosen these specific ideologies to focus on for the reason that they represent both
sides of an ongoing argument concerning the status of good in the world and
therefore offer a fair balance to each other. The Boethian notion of good, in my
opinion, asserts that the only working force within the world is that of good, and
that what most perceive as evil is simply the absence of good. The Manichaean
ideology (as previously mentioned) seems to be more of a modern interpretation of
the working forces in the world. This ideology asserts that good and
Japan s Change Of Modernity And Democracy
There are many things that contributed to Japan s change to modernity and
democracy whether it was between the political parties or if it was between their
cultural system and the people s rights. Before Japan changed to a more modern and
democratic society it was a feudal government structure based on Confucius views
which was during the Tokugawa period. During the Tokugawa period there was a
separation between the social classes which was categorized in four groups the
samurai, peasants, artisans, and merchants. The two classes that had the most power
were the samurai and the peasants. The samurai had the most power because they
created a moral example and the peasants came in second into the social class since
they produced food which was essential to survival of the people. The last two
classes the artisans and the merchants. Although the merchants were last in the social
class some were very wealthy and even owned their own monopolies, but since they
were in the bottom of the class the laws prevented them to come higher into power.
Although Japan was a feudal government and was more traditional the Japanese still
developed some modernized urban influences like expanding their trading of
commodities, and their advancement in their science studies. Though the Japanese
had some of these modernized views the Tokugawa period soon came to an end due
to the lack of government control by the shogun which created the four classes to fall
apart. The differences between

Comparing Muir And Wordsworth
Naturalism is a style and theory of representation based on the accurate depiction of
detail. These writers use several different techniques of writing. The one most often
used by the two is using nature to represent emotion. In Muir s essay and Wordsworth
s poem, both writers have expressed their relationships with naturethrough poetry and
diction.
Firstly, Muir and Wordsworth use both similar and different techniques when they
write. Muir wrote an essay that often used hopeful tones called The Calypso Borealis
. He used dialect as well to represent the way people he met spoke: Mony a puir body
has been lost in that muckle, cauld, dreary bog and never been found. By using
dialect, he was able to bring accents and poor speech to life.

According to Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), there are many

These can be classified as global challenges, global opportunities, national challenges,

Global Challenges include some issues like global climate change, increasing
population and population density, increasing resource scarcities, rising income
inequality, and increasing risk aversion. Global Opportunities has to do with
increased scientific understanding of the hazards and societal responses, as well as
revolutionary technologies. National Challenges involves increasing urbanization and
hazard exposure, interdependencies in infrastructure, continued emphasis on growth,
rising costs of disaster recovery, increasing population diversity, terrorist threats, low
priority of emergency management, legal liability, and intergovernmental tensions.
Due to these factors that will affect the direction of emergency management in the

Explain the rationale for her current medications for her hypertension. Also, discuss
the impact of this disease on the U.S population. According to the blood pressure in

being prescribed Lasix and Lotensin to help with her high blood pressure. Lotensin,
also known as Benazepril, is an ACE inhibitor, or angiotensin coverting enzyme
inhibitor. These types of drugs play an important role in the RAAS (which stands
for renin angiotensin aldosterone system). Arterial blood pressure is regulated and
accomplished through neural, hormonal, and renal interaction and is in tune with
the homeostatic fluid volume of one s body. The balance of sodium and water is
performed by the kidneys and the renin angiotensin aldosterone system is the main
regulator of fluid volume in the body. An increase of extracellular fluid increases
vascular resistance, which in turn leads to increased arterial blood pressure. The
kidneys will then sense this pressure change and in order to compensate, will
promote sodium and water loss through micturition. Sodium intake is directly
proportional to arterial blood pressure and since the kidneys cannot get rid of sodium
as fast as water, higher levels are expected. As sodium increases serum osmolality
triggering the hypothalamus to act as the regulator by signaling the posterior pituitary
gland to
The Advantages Of Deep Brain Stimulation
Deep brain stimulation (DBS) is a neurosurgical procedure introduced in 1987. This
procedure uses the implantation of a medical device called neurostimulator. A
neurostimulator sends electrical impulses, through implanted electrodes, to specific
targets in the brain for the treatment of movement and neuropsychiatric (branch of
medicine that deals with mental disorders) disorders. DBS in select brain regions has
provided therapeutic benefits for disorders such as Parkinson s disease, essential
tremor, chronic pain, major depression and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD).
DBS and its underlying principles and mechanisms are still not clear. DBS directly
changes brain activity in a controlled manner, its effects are reversible unlike other
techniques, and it is one of only a few neurosurgical methods that allow blinded
studies. Deep Brain Stimulationis approved by FDA in USA.... Show more content on

Gentle Cleaning Research Paper
Giving birth is one of the most amazing experiences that a woman can go through.
Unfortunately, it is also the most painful, especially if there is any tearing. Torn
tissue takes longer to heal than a straight incision from an episiotomy. Doctors say
that it normally takes at least six weeks for a woman to heal from the damage that
child birth does to her body. But especially hard pregnancies can make it take a lot
longer than that, since there is more trauma inflicted on the body. Luckily, there
are a few easy ways to speed up the healing process. Gentle Cleaning The peritoneal
area should be kept as clean as possible to avoid an infection from occurring. So it
is essential that a woman wash after each time that she urinates or has a bowel
movement. The easiest way to do this is with a small squirt bottle filled with warm
water. Be sure to squirt the water in a downward motion to avoid bacteria from
washing up into the vaginal canal. Use a soft wash cloth or towel to pat the area dry
afterwards. Never use any soaps or douches. They can increase the inflammation in

Christian pilgrims from visiting their Holy Land. This worried Alexis I, a
Christian king, because the Turks had already captured parts of his empire and
were only 30 miles away from capturing his capitol. He knew he needed help so he
turned to Pope Gregory and asked him to find people to aid in the fight against
Muslims, but he didn t agree, and died, passing his position on to the next pope
named Pope Urban II, who was very excited about going to war and ended up giving
a speech. At the end of the speech, the pilgrims cheered, God wills it! he gained
many troops. This... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Muslims didn t take a liking to that and attacked the town while the army was
still in Orchha, burning the town, poisoning the food and water supplies. Everything
was going the Muslims way until they decided to launch a full scale attack, and if
there s one good thing about the Crusaders it s that, they are extremely good at close
quarter combat and slaughter the men. They continued their march, taking Antioch in
a nine month siege, and stopping in Agra, causing the commanders and the generals
of the army to disagree about whether or not to take Arga. The king burned the
people who didn t want to take it and took it anyway. They gained more troops by
their new allies, The Kingdom of France, The Holy Roman Empire, The Duchy of

Classical Conditioning Analysis
I am scared of dogs, cats, rats, hamsters, pretty much any animal that moves. Now I
was not born with this phobia, I learned it through classical conditioning. Classical
conditioning is when one thing leads to another. So for instance, you probably heard
of the joke of dripping water (unconditioned stimuli) makes you want to pee
(unconditioned response). Well your brain made a connection that whenever it hears
dripping water (conditioned stimuli); your bladder muscle is relaxed (conditioned
response). So every time you have to pee, hearing dripping water makes your bladder
want to release the tension automatically. Now unlike other type of learning, classical
conditioningis automatic and it generalizes to many things meaning it is hard to...

It was a noon. I was playing on the playground just minding my own business when
I heard a bark. My body all of a sudden became tense, my heart started punching and
pounding like a piston inside an engine. I was on top of the slide, so I started to
scan all around me for a dog, until I saw it. It looked like a 60 80 lb. dog with black
hair, long neck, long nose and sharp teeth. It came closer and closer to the
playground and then just like the first dog I met it started barking over and over
and over. I was stuck, I felt like I was in a sinking ship with sharks swarming
around it. I just stood there without moving a muscle in the hops that I will
somehow camouflage with my surroundings. It didn t work. That day I was a
prisoned for almost 20 minutes before the dog decided I wasn t worth this much time
and left. I was not sure if this was a trap so just to make sure it really was gone I
stayed an extra 15 minutes. After that experience I did not go outside for a whole 2
weeks. My fear of dogs can be traced back to this moment but fear of cats not so
much. The place I was at did not have any cats but a few years later when we
moved I discovered my fear of cats. Even though cats are easily scared and mind
there own business majority of the time, I still did not like them, they make me feel
unease, as thought they are going to start barking at any moment. And before

Gender Inequality With Stereotypical Representations
From...
Essay #1 Society often projects the ideal ideas of what is acceptable according to its
standards formed by time and trends. Gender inequalities along with stereotypical
representations from society are presented as themes among Sandra Cisnero s and
Junot DiМЃaz s short stories. While society may present and project an accepted
view among the gendernorms, each person is unique in his or her opinions and
experiences. Though society often portrays the stereotypical dominant role of the
male and the submissive female and an accepted view on heterosexuality, not all
people classify under these categories. Women are sometimes perceived as feeble
minded but sometimes underrated in actuality. One example is Anguiano... by Sandra

While the mother is working and trying to maintain the household while dealing with
the absent father, this demonstrates that sometimes women are not as feeble as they
may be perceived, especially in cases such as having an absent significant other.
Another example is Cisnero s Bien Pretty where the female narrator finds herself
quickly falling in love with Flavio ManguiМЃa and feels emotionally weak, but
ultimately discovers that he commited an infidelity with two other women (Cisnero,
Bien Pretty 138). While the narrator may be emotionally weak in terms of having
feelings for her significant other, she concludes that she could happily live alone
without a significant other; society sometimes does not approve of this necessarily,
but expects women to be submissive to a man. While society portrays men are
portrayed as dominant and the leader of the household as and may determine the
idea of masculinity, men may be susceptible to the same hardships as women as well.
One example is DiМЃaz s Fiesta where the boy narrator and his brother, Rafi,
withold his father s infidelity a secret from their mother for favor of keeping the
family together. While acts of infidelity are frowned upon and the father may be
described as a toxic figure to the household with child abuse, the boy narrator suffers
from emotional and physical
Most Important Qualities Of The ANZAC Legend
The ANZAC Legend is said to contain some of the most important qualities of
Australians and New Zealanders today. Sir John Monash, Commander of the
Australian forces on the Western Front, later wrote of the Australians as intelligent,
physically superior, independent, resourceful, brave and easy to lead but difficult to
drive (Cameron, Young, Lawless, 2002, pg 49). Even though Australians display
these qualities, this Legend is no longer relevant in society today due to the fact that
it excludes Australians who aren t from a white European background, is biased
towards the qualities of Australians and it brands them as the Legend states.

254). These qualities are then heavily recognised in Australia s National Identity.
Simpson and his donkey is an excellent demonstration of the ANZAC Legend. The
courage John Simpson showed when he lead his donkey through heavy fire to rescue
the wounded combined with the mateship he demonstrated towards other ANZAC
soldiers is a clear demonstration of the qualities of the Legend in action (Cameron,
Young, Lawless, 2002, p. 51). He became a familiar sight to all and the actions he
demonstrated are still heavily linked to the ANZAC Legend today.
The ANZAC Legend today is an important aspect of Australia s history and is
significant to all Australian s today. It is believed that the importance of the Gallipoli
Campaign is due to the fact that this was the first War Australia fought in as a
nation and that in the first news report which reached Australia, the soldiers were
praised for their courage and gallantry (Carrodus, et al., 2012). This Legend is
heavily praised in Australia and it is of very high importance. ANZAC Day,
commemorating the Gallipoli landing became a public holiday in 1927, celebrated
on the 25th of April, and each year more and more people are taking part in
ANZAC celebrations, such as dawn services and marches (Carrodus, 2012). During
the 1980 s, ANZAC Day has grown in significance. Reasons for this include the
popularity of films and documentaries such
Will Rogers Essay
Will Rogers
Not many people remember Will Rogers, but in the 1930 s he was the most well
known man in America more popular than Shirley Temple. He was a simple
cowpoke who entertained people with his rope tricks and sly political
observations. He also wrote a widely read newspaper column and appeared on the
raido every week. I supose he is alot like Bill Cosby is today: beloved for his down
to earth style of humor. But that quot;aww, shucks quot; attitude hid a brilliant mind.
Furthermore, Will Rogers was more than just a comedian; he was a man of character.
Throughout his life, he exhibited the qualities of humility, fairness, generosity, and
loyalty witch make him a real American hero.
Will was born in Oklahoma and proud of it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

During the Depression, many people were worried about what was going on in
Washington. When Will pointed out some politican who said one thing and did
another, or criticized some program in Washington he didn t approve of, he d
disquise his criticism behind a joke so as not to offend. But Will would also get
straight to the heart of the matter, letting the American people know that he thought
just as they did.
As you can see, Will understood people. In fact,he used to say, quot;I never met a
man I didn t like. quot; How many of us can say that? He d go on to explain the
Indian belief that quot;you have to go around and stand behind someone to get a
look at what he s lookin at. quot; Only then do you see things from his perspective.
This fairness is remarkable, especially at a time in America when racism was
everywhere. Will s Indian heritage helped him to look at people as people, to see
beyond color or status in the world. He treated the political elite and the unemployed
with the same respect and good humor. In fact, he often made fun of himself, which
allowed everyone to relax and see the good sense behind much of what he said about
the rest of society.
This generous attitude translated into many other areas of his life. During the
Depression, Will was very sympathetic to those who had lost everything their savings,
their jobs, and their sense of security. He himself had lost his entire fortune when

A Closer Look into Detroit s Rebellious History I received the opportunity to interview one of my father s close friends and business partners, Mr. Joseph E. Hutchison Sr., for the purposes of exploring how he perceived the Detroit riots of 1697. Mr. Hutchison is an African American man, which has lived in multiple neighborhoods throughout Detroit all his life, and has raised a family in the city as well. Furthermore, Mr. Hutchison has a funeral home on Detroit s East Side, which has been thriving for more than forty years. Moreover, he has a love for the city, no matter what condition the city is in. • 4. The Demand For Money Has Been An Essential Part Of Economics I.Introduction The demand for money has been an essential part of economics from the beginning of economics, even though minimal attention was given to it before the 1920s. This apparent lack of thought appears to have dramatically changed since the Great Depression of early 1930 s. These crises have lured special attention in monetary theory and consequently an equally particular attention has been focused on the demand for money. Today, over sixty years after these crises, interest on the causation of the failure of governments and depression, and the monetary authorities to prevent it happening. This importance rises to a crest whenever the economy of other countries declines or when our domestic economy enters a recession and/or depression. These events can raise issues such as what are the duties of monetary policy in causing an international or domestic economic boom or recession, who holds money, and why is it held? The debate usually centers on whether effortless or strict monetary policies are preferable. Strictly speaking, should credit and money be ample and cheap or limited and overpriced? These controversies call for an applicable analysis of how money is used and the functioning of monetary policy instruments. This is more so for developing countries where they face problems of growth and development and appear to be of a precise nature and are tied down by structural rigidities and bottlenecks. The problem in the developing countries is how more or less

  • 7. Risk And A Form Of Linguistic Imperialism The term risk has been defined in so many ways by many scholars. The term risk itself is very broad to interpret. However, risk is often defined as a threat and it usually brings negative impacts to a person or an organisation. Hansson (2005) claims that many attempts have been made to define risk in a single meaning and eliminate other definitions which are futile and a form of linguistic imperialism . Since there is no exact meaning of risk, people describe risk based on their own perceptions and purposes. Perminova et al. (2008) and the Association of Project Management (APM) define risk as an uncertain event and exclusively negative (APM, 2006). Ward and Chapman (2003) recommend that project risk management(PRM) is categorized as project uncertainty management. Nonetheless, the term uncertainty again brings confusion as there is no single meaning that can successfully define it (Perminova et al., 2008). On the contrary, Kaplan and Garrick (1981) define risk according to public s risk perception. There are three criteria suggested by the authors such as the failure of that particular event, its tendency as well as the impact of the failure. Although there have been countless struggles to picture risk in a proper way, it is best that the focus should be diverted to a more important issue which is how to manage risk instead of defining it as time may not be on our side. Apart from the confusing issue of defining what risk really means, authors find themselves very

In a deep analysis, this phrase best explains the expectation of a women in Venice that they are supposed to agree in accordance of all their husband s will and use them in any way their husbands wish to utilize them. Furthermore, the capacity of women as connected to marriage was portrayed by the sweet message that came from the lips of Othello to Desdemona. Come, my dear love. The purchase has made, the fruits are ensue; The profit s yet to come tween me and you (Act II, Scene 2, Line 8 10, Page 100). With this statement, it can be said that purchase and marriage are synonymous. If the message is read between the lines, it can be inferred that Othello purchased or bought Desdemona and she is anticipated to meet the sexual pleasures that Othello need or want. However, most reasonable people would believe that killing someone else in order to protect their loved ones would be immoral and harmful. In the case of R v. Section 232 (2) of the Criminal Code states that in the case of provocation the accused [acts] [...] on the sudden and before there [is] time for their passion to cool . This means that, in order for provocation to exist, the accused must not have had the necessary guilty knowledge with respect to the course of action they were taking. In Buzizi s case, this subjective condition for manslaughter is not satisfied, and the subjective fault element for second degree murder still exists. At trial, the accused revealed that he had a significant degree of knowledge as to what he was doing during the altercation. For instance, when the accused testified, he stated that when the victim tried to pick up the exacto knife after dropping it, this is when he decided to grab the victim by his sweater and stab him (R v. Buzizi 248 blah 47). This establishes that Buzizi not only knew precisely what he did to the victim, but it also establishes that he knew his motivation for doing so, which was that he was afraid of the potentiality for the victim to attack him with the knife. During his testimony, Buzizi

This study builds on the previous requirements defined for a B 2 companion trainer, and adds tactical requirements in order to recommend a solution that achieves both objectives. The Nature of the Problem This research is necessary because T 38s are aging out at all units. The T 38A at Whiteman AFB, MO, currently reaches its end of service life in 2028. Currently, the B 2s end of service is 2058, which highlights the urgent requirement for a replacement trainer. B 2 pilots fly limited sorties due to the size of the B 2 fleet and the nature of stealth aircraft. Stealth aircraft require specific Low Observable (LO) maintenance which is both time consuming and costly. Due to the limited sorties, B 2 pilots have utilized a CTP since 1993 to provide additional time necessary for crews to maintain flight currency and continue to develop airmanship skills . In 2011, an independent study was performed by Michal Polidor on the validity of a CTP for the B 2 community. That study did validate the need for a CTP at Whiteman, largely based

  • 19. Analysis Of The Play A Doll s House The period of the nineteenth century until the twentieth century was viewed as a patriarchal male society and female dependence; women had to obey men because in most cases men held all the resources and women had no independent means of subsistence. Women were solely controlled by the society crafted by men and expected to act as a feminine ideal of that period, in addition, womenwere supposed to live a highly restrictive life with their life centered round their husband and subsequently their children. Although, women were supposed to be treated with respect by men, most men viewed women as weak and having no ability to perform any task. In the play A Doll s House the character Nora shows how these expectations affect her behavior which reflect her desire to change the traditional genderroles in the demanding society she was obligated to adhere to. When a couple got married in this period her property was now her husband s and as a result, married women were barred from making contracts, appearing as witnesses in court, and initiating lawsuits. Nora like the wives of her time had to subject to her husband and Nora is often treated as a superior servant not as an equal; therefore, she lives without self identity and gender equality. At the beginning of the play, Nora appears to be a silly, naive, childish girl, but then the reader learns that she has made a great sacrifice to save her husband s life by borrowing money. Nora acts this way because that is how her husband

Our heroine, if you will, seems to be a woman with normally restrained passions and a well defined sense of propriety, who finds herself in a situation that tears down her restraint and reveals the vixen within. I wonder if it was intentional that the name Calixta makes me think of Calypso the nymph from Greek mythology. If half of the sexual symbolism I found in this story was intentional, Chopin was a genius. I was quite taken with the sexual imagery of the colors mentioned: white, and red. The language grows more telling in that just after there is mention of something threatening to break an entrance, Chopin describes Calixta s bedroom. The fact that it adjoins the room they re in is completely unnecessary, unless there s a reason for the reader to be aware of the bedroom. As the storm rolls on, Calixta goes to the window where she stands when the lightning bolt strikes a tree in the field. Lightning is a glorified spark, I believe this symbolizes the spark of passion renewed in both of our adulterers as the story
  • 21. My Story Of The School Year Of 2010-2011 My story begins in the school year of 2010 2011. I was a fifth grader, eleven years of age, at Santa Fe 5/6 Center. As per requirements we had to take a music class, and I knew that I could not sing, so an instrument it was. Most of that year I spent experimenting with wind and string instruments to find out if I belonged in band or orchestra. I was never really interested in any of the wind instrument so I atleast knew I was going to be in orchestra. The year ended with me being skeptical to if I should play an instrument or not. With the next school year approaching fast I had to make my decision. A few days before sixth grade started, Santa Fe hosted a little music assembly for the students and their parents to come and enjoy music and also to provide instruments for the students to try out and possibly buy. I remember walking around a tad bit nervous looking for an instrument and that s when I heard someone start playing the cello. I turned to look and saw a man, Mr. Stanley, who later I found out was my cello teacher, playing the cello. He played so beautifully it inspired me. The warm, rich tone of the cello filled the room and I remember almost everyone stopped what they were doing just to listen to him play. I think mother saw the glint in my eyes when I first listened to the cello and she knew that was my choice. After Mr. Stanley s little performance was done, I approached him and bombarded him with questions. In the end Mother ended up buying a three fourths

Essay The Red Tent by Diamant The Red Tent by Diamant In Diamant s powerful novel The Red Tent the ever silent Dinah from the 34th chapter of Gensis is finally given her own voice, and the story she tells is a much different one than expected. With the guiding hands of her four mothers , Leah, Rachel, Zilpah, and Bilhah, all the wives of Jacob, we grow with Dinah from her childhood in Mesoptamia through puberty, where she is then entered into the red tent , and well off into her adulthood from Cannan to Egypt. This act is translated into todays concept of rape, but as the narrative continues we see how Shechem tries to justify his manner by claiming he fell victim to love. Being drawn to Dinah, daughter of Jacob, and in love with the maiden, he spoke to the maiden tenderly (Genesis 34:3). This, however, is not admissible in the eyes of Israel s men. Shechem s behavior is considered an outrage in Israel...a thing not to be done , and therefore, hinders Shechem s aspiration of marriage to her (Genesis 34:7). One of the ways he is able to seek mercy is by offering Dinah s brothers and father a high bride price. This offering along with a promise for all men to be circumcised in accordance with God s command to their grandfather Abraham: This is my covenant between Me and you and your offspring to follow which you shall keep: every male among you shall be circumcised, is a fitting plea to their ears and Dinah is wed off (Genesis 17:10). But what about Dinah s ears? Who is to say that she wants to marry this man who defiled her? What is her view on it all? Ironically, there is no mention of Dinah s feelings or thoughts throughout Genesis 34. All the attention focuses not on Dinah, but the men around her. The one who is affected the most throughout this whole ordeal is somehow left in the shadow. There even is no reference to how she succumbs to being raped, and later deceived by her own blood. Us Subprime Mortgage Crisis Essay The Global Economic Environment EMBA 683 Fall 2011 Case: U.S. Subprime Mortgage Crisis Policy Reactions 1) What are the causes behind the U.S. Subprime mortgage crisis? Is one cause more responsible than another? The first and more important factor that lead to the subprime mortgage crisis was governments creation of Freddie and Fannie. This move by the government to intercede the private financial industry sector eventually lead to the US government being the largest lender of mortgages in the US. What is your assessment of how Ben Bernake has handled the situation? The Fed implemented several strategies in an attempt to stabilize the economy by first targeting the struggling Financial Industry. The first move by Bernake was to reduce the target funds rate to 0 0.25% in an attempt to provide liquidity to the banks that needed it. Benake also increased government spending by building up their balance sheet with the assets that were currently frozen in the capital markets, such as mortgage backed securities. The Fed believed that by purchasing these assets from the banks it will remove the assets from the banks but also recreate a market for these type of financial instruments, which would ultimately help the housing industry as well. To help illustrate Benake s monetary policy philosophy and actions are best summarized by the following quote, people know that inflation erodes the real

He makes it clear that, in his opinion, Caesar should not become king because he would not be able to hold the qualities of someone with that great amount of power. In order to convince the Plebeians to side with him, Brutus uses a variety of rhetorical appeals to persuade them. Throughout Brutus speech he uncovers his ethics and beliefs on Caesar possibly being crowned king. Brutus states, It must be by death; and for my part I know no personal cause to spurn at him, But for the general (2.1.10 12). Brutus elucidates the fact that Caesar needs to be killed for the help of Rome and how he has no personal reasons, related to their friendship, to kill him. Another example where Brutus shows his morals on Caesar is when he says, But when he once attains the upmost round, He then unto the ladder turns his back; Looks in the clouds, scorning the base degrees By which he did ascend (2.1.24 27). Ryanair s strategy is based on providing a no frills service with low fares to stimulate demand. Ryanair s business level strategy is cost leadership. Although the firm faces weaknesses and threats, their strategy has created a competitive advantage. Ryanair s competitive advantage will weaken over time due to vulnerability to fuel prices, ancillary charges, low employee satisfaction and their negative brand image. Analysis Porter s Five Forces analysis is a tool to analyze the external environment in which an industry operates. In the European airline industry, the threat of new entrants is low. Entrants will need high capital investments to compete with existing firms. The substitutes in the airline industry are the railway networks, rental cars and sea transports. Rental cars and sea transports are more expensive than the airlines therefore they don t pose a threat to the industry. It takes longer to reach a destination by train than a plane, which causes the threat of railways be low. Existing firms pose a threat to the industry because there are 35 firms operating in the European airline industry, which creates intense price rivalry among firms. Customers are price sensitive and customer can easily switch to another airline causing the threat of buyers to be high. Suppliers can charge a high price for their

The Industrial Organization (IO) theory is about, how a structure of a market has an influence on the strategy and decision making of a company. 1 The theory therefore focusses on the market wherein the company operates and links the decisions of the company to the market. They saw an active interaction/connection between small and large firms, which influenced the market. While the large firms were competing with each other, niches opened up and were filled by smaller firms. But unlike the music industry and the American film industry (Mezias Mezias, 2000), there is not a diachronic dialectic between small firms and large firms in the stand up comedy industry. According to the resource partitioning theory, a theory conceptualized by Caroll in 1985, this dialectic exists when the big firms are competing with each other. Just a few of these generalists survive and they move forward toward the centre of the market. Because of this movement small pockets of resources open up, where smaller firms can thrive (Vermeulen Bruggeman, 2000). However, in the stand up comedy industry it is difficult to underestimate large and small firms, instead we distinguish comedians and the media they use to reach their audience. Hence it weren t large firms causing the opening of the niches for smaller firms. In a setting so contaminated by the evils of the world, how could an innocent little hobbit actually emerge as a character that has truly progressed for the better as most think? This brings us to the final impending question. Is there truly good in the world according to J.R.R. Tolkien in The Hobbit? This idea of good in the world has often been explored within countless pieces of literature and has marked itself as a truly meaningful concept to be evaluated. The main questions spurring from this concept, which are often explored, usually concern the presence of good and evil within a situation or setting. Building upon this I myself have chosen the concepts of good and evil for which I am to base my milieu. This milieu is to be expanded upon in my evaluation of The Hobbit and will be explored in terms of presence and sense of conformity to both the Boethian and Manichaean ideologies. I have chosen these specific ideologies to focus on for the reason that they represent both sides of an ongoing argument concerning the status of good in the world and therefore offer a fair balance to each other. The Boethian notion of good, in my opinion, asserts that the only working force within the world is that of good, and that what most perceive as evil is simply the absence of good. The Manichaean ideology (as previously mentioned) seems to be more of a modern interpretation of the working forces in the world. This ideology asserts that good and

Japan s Change Of Modernity And Democracy There are many things that contributed to Japan s change to modernity and democracy whether it was between the political parties or if it was between their cultural system and the people s rights. Before Japan changed to a more modern and democratic society it was a feudal government structure based on Confucius views which was during the Tokugawa period. During the Tokugawa period there was a separation between the social classes which was categorized in four groups the samurai, peasants, artisans, and merchants. The two classes that had the most power were the samurai and the peasants. The samurai had the most power because they created a moral example and the peasants came in second into the social class since they produced food which was essential to survival of the people. The last two classes the artisans and the merchants. Although the merchants were last in the social class some were very wealthy and even owned their own monopolies, but since they were in the bottom of the class the laws prevented them to come higher into power. Although Japan was a feudal government and was more traditional the Japanese still developed some modernized urban influences like expanding their trading of commodities, and their advancement in their science studies. Though the Japanese had some of these modernized views the Tokugawa period soon came to an end due to the lack of government control by the shogun which created the four classes to fall apart. Lotensin, also known as Benazepril, is an ACE inhibitor, or angiotensin coverting enzyme inhibitor. Arterial blood pressure is regulated and accomplished through neural, hormonal, and renal interaction and is in tune with the homeostatic fluid volume of one s body. The balance of sodium and water is performed by the kidneys and the renin angiotensin aldosterone system is the main regulator of fluid volume in the body. An increase of extracellular fluid increases vascular resistance, which in turn leads to increased arterial blood pressure. The kidneys will then sense this pressure change and in order to compensate, will promote sodium and water loss through micturition. Sodium intake is directly proportional to arterial blood pressure and since the kidneys cannot get rid of sodium as fast as water, higher levels are expected. As sodium increases serum osmolality triggering the hypothalamus to act as the regulator by signaling the posterior pituitary gland to

It came closer and closer to the playground and then just like the first dog I met it started barking over and over and over. I was stuck, I felt like I was in a sinking ship with sharks swarming around it. I just stood there without moving a muscle in the hops that I will somehow camouflage with my surroundings. It didn t work. That day I was a prisoned for almost 20 minutes before the dog decided I wasn t worth this much time and left. I was not sure if this was a trap so just to make sure it really was gone I stayed an extra 15 minutes. After that experience I did not go outside for a whole 2 weeks. My fear of dogs can be traced back to this moment but fear of cats not so much. The place I was at did not have any cats but a few years later when we moved I discovered my fear of cats. Even though cats are easily scared and mind there own business majority of the time, I still did not like them, they make me feel unease, as thought they are going to start barking at any moment. And before

  • 45. Gender Inequality With Stereotypical Representations From... Essay #1 Society often projects the ideal ideas of what is acceptable according to its standards formed by time and trends. Gender inequalities along with stereotypical representations from society are presented as themes among Sandra Cisnero s and Junot DiМЃaz s short stories. While society may present and project an accepted view among the gendernorms, each person is unique in his or her opinions and experiences. Though society often portrays the stereotypical dominant role of the male and the submissive female and an accepted view on heterosexuality, not all people classify under these categories. Women are sometimes perceived as feeble minded but sometimes underrated in actuality. One example is Anguiano... by Sandra Cisneros, the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While the mother is working and trying to maintain the household while dealing with the absent father, this demonstrates that sometimes women are not as feeble as they may be perceived, especially in cases such as having an absent significant other. Another example is Cisnero s Bien Pretty where the female narrator finds herself quickly falling in love with Flavio ManguiМЃa and feels emotionally weak, but ultimately discovers that he commited an infidelity with two other women (Cisnero, Bien Pretty 138). While the narrator may be emotionally weak in terms of having feelings for her significant other, she concludes that she could happily live alone without a significant other; society sometimes does not approve of this necessarily, but expects women to be submissive to a man. While society portrays men are portrayed as dominant and the leader of the household as and may determine the idea of masculinity, men may be susceptible to the same hardships as women as well. One example is DiМЃaz s Fiesta where the boy narrator and his brother, Rafi, withold his father s infidelity a secret from their mother for favor of keeping the family together. While acts of infidelity are frowned upon and the father may be described as a toxic figure to the household with child abuse, the boy narrator suffers from emotional and physical
  • 46. Most Important Qualities Of The ANZAC Legend The ANZAC Legend is said to contain some of the most important qualities of Australians and New Zealanders today. Sir John Monash, Commander of the Australian forces on the Western Front, later wrote of the Australians as intelligent, physically superior, independent, resourceful, brave and easy to lead but difficult to drive (Cameron, Young, Lawless, 2002, pg 49). Even though Australians display these qualities, this Legend is no longer relevant in society today due to the fact that it excludes Australians who aren t from a white European background, is biased towards the qualities of Australians and it brands them as the Legend states. These qualities are then heavily recognised in Australia s National Identity. Simpson and his donkey is an excellent demonstration of the ANZAC Legend. The courage John Simpson showed when he lead his donkey through heavy fire to rescue the wounded combined with the mateship he demonstrated towards other ANZAC soldiers is a clear demonstration of the qualities of the Legend in action (Cameron, Young, Lawless, 2002, p. 51). He became a familiar sight to all and the actions he demonstrated are still heavily linked to the ANZAC Legend today. The ANZAC Legend today is an important aspect of Australia s history and is significant to all Australian s today. It is believed that the importance of the Gallipoli Campaign is due to the fact that this was the first War Australia fought in as a nation and that in the first news report which reached Australia, the soldiers were praised for their courage and gallantry (Carrodus, et al., 2012). This Legend is heavily praised in Australia and it is of very high importance. ANZAC Day, commemorating the Gallipoli landing became a public holiday in 1927, celebrated on the 25th of April, and each year more and more people are taking part in ANZAC celebrations, such as dawn services and marches (Carrodus, 2012). During the 1980 s, ANZAC Day has grown in significance. Reasons for this include the popularity of films and documentaries such
  • 47. Will Rogers Essay Will Rogers Not many people remember Will Rogers, but in the 1930 s he was the most well known man in America more popular than Shirley Temple. He was a simple cowpoke who entertained people with his rope tricks and sly political observations. He also wrote a widely read newspaper column and appeared on the raido every week. I supose he is alot like Bill Cosby is today: beloved for his down to earth style of humor. But that quot;aww, shucks quot; attitude hid a brilliant mind. Furthermore, Will Rogers was more than just a comedian; he was a man of character. Throughout his life, he exhibited the qualities of humility, fairness, generosity, and loyalty witch make him a real American hero. Will was born in Oklahoma and proud of it. ... When Will pointed out some politican who said one thing and did another, or criticized some program in Washington he didn t approve of, he d disquise his criticism behind a joke so as not to offend. But Will would also get straight to the heart of the matter, letting the American people know that he thought just as they did. As you can see, Will understood people. In fact,he used to say, quot;I never met a man I didn t like. quot; How many of us can say that? He d go on to explain the Indian belief that quot;you have to go around and stand behind someone to get a look at what he s lookin at. quot; Only then do you see things from his perspective. This fairness is remarkable, especially at a time in America when racism was everywhere. Will s Indian heritage helped him to look at people as people, to see beyond color or status in the world. He treated the political elite and the unemployed with the same respect and good humor. In fact, he often made fun of himself, which allowed everyone to relax and see the good sense behind much of what he said about the rest of society. This generous attitude translated into many other areas of his life. During the Depression, Will was very sympathetic to those who had lost everything their savings, their jobs, and their sense of security. He himself had lost his entire fortune when
