Excellent Quotes about Teaching I hear and I forget.  I see and I remember.  I do and I understand- Author unknown  I love this quote because it reminds me not to just lecture and show my students what to do but to inspire them to do the work.  If a student does the assignment they can experience first hand how to complete the task.  They are truly learning.  All learning begins with the simple phrase, "I don't know".  I truly believe that you have to acknowledge that you do not know or understand something.  Then, you need to move beyond not knowing and encounter the material and master it! "It is not so much what is poured into the student, but what is planted that really counts." –  Unknown This quote reminds me not to just lecture my students but have them become their own teachers.  The best way to learn about a topic is to teach it.
An Image Related to the Blog Topic  These are two pictures I took with former classes.  The picture to the left was taken last year.  My students stayed late to display their work in the showcase on the second floor.  I am proud of this picture because these students chose to come after school and work together on displaying their work.  You can see by the looks on their faces they feel proud of their accomplishments.  The picture on the right is of my freshmen class two years ago.  We had a guest speaker and the kids were very excited to commemorate the occasion with a picture.  These are some proud teaching moments for me.
