Most Useful Tool
• Even though I was skeptical about it at first, I
found that Pinterest was the most useful tool!
• I found valuable instructional resources, such
as videos, graphic organizers, images,
worksheets, and historical background
information.
• I can use Pinterest to locate relevant and
useful information and resources to improve
my instruction for all of my English courses.
S
Additional Useful Tool
• Delicious was also a very practical tool!
• Organizing your resources by using tags is very helpful.
• The resources can be accessed through any computer.
• The resources were easy to find and tag!
S
Successes
• I had never used most of these types of social media before, but I
feel that I successfully created accounts and located valuable
resources that I can use in my classroom.
• I learned how to use various types of social media to quickly and
easily locate resources that can positively impact my teaching
techniques.
• I found educational communities where I can collaborate with other
educators and share educational ideas.
S
Challenges
• Since I had not used many of these types of social media before, initially it
took me some time to figure out how to use these types of social media.
• I used the tutorials and instructional videos to help me create my accounts
and utilize these types of social media.
• At first I was confused about how to tweet and retweet, but eventually I
learned how to perform these actions.
S
Moodle and Online Learning
• The online learning setting has really allowed me to expand my
educational knowledge by taking graduate courses!
• As a full-time teacher and coach, it would be difficult and exhausting
to drive to a graduate school classroom and spend hours there each
week!
• With the online learning environment, I can participate in the course
and complete my work when it is convenient for me, no matter what
time of day it is or where I am located.
• Moodle is very user-friendly and easy to navigate!
