Berlin is the capital city of Germany and one of the 16 states of Germany.
Berlin has a population of 3.4millions people. Berlin is the most populated
city in Germany and the seventh most popolous urban area in the European
Union. It´s located in the northeastern Germany on the River Spree.

2. CLIMATE

Berlin has a temperate oceanic climate.Summers in Berlin are warm but
sometimes with high temperatures. Winters aren´t exactly the same, in
winter the temperature is very cold and sometimes with snows. Spring and
autumn are generally chilly to mild. The annual precipitations in Berlin are
570 milimetres with moderate rainfall throughout the year. The month that
often has the highest temperature is July and the lowest temperature is in
January.

3. CITY STATE

The city and the state parliament is the House of Representatives, which
currently has141 seats. Berlin´s executive body is the Senate of Berlin. The
senate of Berlin consists of the Governing Mayor. Since the reunification on
3 October 1990 Berlin has been one of the three city states in Germany,
toguether with Hamburg and the free Henseatic of Bremen, among the
present 16 states.

4. BRANDEBURG GATE

The Brandeburg Gate is a former city gate rebuilt in the 18 th century as a
neoclassical thriunphal arch, and now one of the most well-known land
marks of Germany. It is located in the western part of the city centre of
Berlin, at the junctionof Unter Der Linden, immediatly west of the Pariser
Platz.

5. EDUCATION

Berlin has 878 schools that teach 340,658 children in 13,727 classes and
56,787 trainees in businesses and elsewhere. The city has a six year
primary education programe. After completing primary school, students
progress to the Sekundarshule. Berlin has a special bilingual school
programme embedded in the Europashule.
